I took this team just under a week ago and the team's value has already went up from £17.5 million to £47.7 million with £5 million still left to spend. My aim is to get 3 successive promotion and hopefully win the division 1 title one day. I know its going to be hard work but its a challenge I'm relishing.

My squad consists of 74 players at the moment. As I lacked a bit of depth for mid 80's I managed to get Gera and Baird on loan from Fulham until the Transfer Bans are off which is in mid October. I have already played 1 game into the season and won it 3-1. My next game is an away trip to Hereford United and this will be my first official match report. (tonight)

this is my squad at the moment

Nery Bareiro was voted the M.O.M after a strong display at the back

A great day for Swindon Town as they crushed unmanaged Hereford United 5-1 at County Ground. Swindon Town came into this game with a lot of confidence after winning their opening game 3-1 wheras confidence in the Hereford camp couldn't get any lower after they lost their first game and their manager walked out on them. New loaned signing Zoltan Gera and Chris Baird made their debut for the The Robins while Hereford United remained unchanged despite the 3-1 defeat that they suffered at the hands of Bradford City.

Both sides started the game preety well with a couple of opportunities each but couldn't caputilise. Simon Johnson with a rocket from 25 yards was well dealt with by Denis in the Swindon Town goals and at the other end Zoltan Gera only missed the top corner by only a few inches. Swindon Town eventually took the lead on the 23 minute with a diving header by Nery Bareiro. A superb inswinger by Zoltan Gera and Bareiro had a simple tap in at the back post. Five minutes laster Hereford were on level term after a backpass by Majoa felt short and Andy Willians was there for the equaliser. Swindon Town's play got even more impressing after that goal and the Hereford United defence couldn't keep up with the 2 Swindon strikers. The Hereford defence started drop deeper and deeper as the game wore on and Swindon Town kept pressuring the Hereford play. 21 year old Mark Pugh was then sent off after picking up his second yellow card of the evening for arguing with the refree about an awarded free kick. New boy Zoltan Gera punished the Hereford defence with the awarded free kick that flew in the top right corner and Samson could only watch the ball go past him. Swindon Town started to make the 1 man advantage count and had a few more half chances but saves from Samson kept Hereford in the game and at half time the score was 2-1 to the home side.

Immidiately after the restart holding midfielder Tim Ward got on the scoresheet with a cheeky little chip and Swindon Town were on the way to claiming the 3 points on offer. Swindon Town became more and more menacing and could have had another 3 goals within the first 10 minutes of the restart. The fourth and the goal that killed the game came on the 59th minute with Majoa making up for his mistake in the first half. He took on 2 defenders to create the space and calmly slotted the ball in the back of the net. Majoa got the second of the game and it was a tales of 2 half for the young Ecuaduarian defender when he scored from a corner this time but Samson should have done better to keep the ball out of the Hereford United's goal. Hereford tried a few long range effort but it wasn't going to be their day today and the final whistle went and the match finished 5-1.

Brazilian players join Swindon Town

brazil-flag.gif

The latest news coming out of Swindon Town is that the Robins have managed to 23 Brazilian players for a fee believed to be worth around 12-15 million. This deals see a bunch of up and coming superstars join the youth of Swindon Town. The likes of Tolio, Joa Paulo, Ciro, Guiliano and Neymar join the already Jam packed academy of Swindon Town which now consists 28 players.

Manager Hans was delighted with the work done by his scouts and this was what the had to say;

"I'm absolutely delighted with the work done by our scouts. We've been watching them very closely and they really impressed us but for now I think they need to mature a bit more before making the jump to first team football but it isn't that far away. We've heard great things about them and the club have invested heavily in them considering the league that we are in and I guarentee the fans that these young players here will live up to their expectation and the fans will be in for a treat. "

Hans also brought in a couple of Brazilian players for his senoir team and he hopes that will help Swindon Town in their quest to the premier league. He managed to sign six players for his senior squad including Willians, Adilston, Welton Felipe, Para, Aranha and Johnny. After the arrival of the players Hans held a press conferance to parade The Robins' new boys and this was what he had to say;

"This is a start of something big for us and hopefully they will help us gain promotion this season. I have total faith that they will settle in preety quickly and we'll be seeing the best of them sooner rather than later. Adapting to the weather here in england will be a challenge but I don't think settling in will be a major problem because they will feel at home with the passionate fans that we have and also with the amound of south american players that we have at our disposal."

Rodrigo Teixeira celebrates his goal and was voted M.O.M

Swindon Town cruised past Crewe Alexandra with an easy five nil victory to see them remain top of league with Bradford City right on their heels with only goal difference seperating the two sides. New signings Fabio Santos, Willans and Adliston made their debuts while Derley and Welton Felipe could only do with a place on the bench. Crewe Alexandra remained unchanged from the side that got an impressive away draw against inform Torquay United.

Crewe Alexandra kicked off from right to left attacking the end where their fans were gathered. It was a decent start for the visitors and they had a couple of half chances in the first 10 minutes but all of them were easily dealt with by Denis in the Swindon Town goal. Firstly Mc Gready with a low shot which was tipped away and Zola also having a long range effort easily saved. The visitors grew in confidence but it was all shattered on the 14th minute when the refree allowed a goal for Swindon Town and the Crewe players were furious at the decision taken by the linesman for not raising his flag up when replays clearly shows that Tim Ward was a yard off when he received the pass from Adilston. This led to captain Denis Lawrence getting yellow carded for persistant abuse to the linesman and the Crewe players couldn't get their concentration back and 10 minutes later they were punished. mohab Said making it 2-0 with a lovely volley from 10 yards out and even though Collis got a glove to it, it wasn't strong enough to keep it out. From then onwards Swindon Town moved on another gear and the ball was only played in the Crewe Alexandra half and 5 minute before the break Mohab Said got his second of the match after terrible defending and Said had a tap in.

The second half was the same with Swindon creating most of the chances and Crewe Alexandra trying to keep the score to a minimum. New boy Fabio Santos had a glorious chance one on one with the keeper only to send the ball a few inches wide of the bottom corner. He had another chance on the 56th minute but only for Abbey to clear the ball off the line. The pressure was relentless and Swindon got their forth with a spectacular long range effort from Texiera and the keeper was rooted to the spot. After that goal Derley and Welton Felipe came on for their debuts and they were immidiately thrown into action. Derley's corner was met by Welton Felipe only to see the ball swimmed over the bar. The icing was put onto the cake on the 81st minute when Adilston made it five nil and he was preety pleased with himself judging by his celebrations. A piece of Brazilian magic allowed him behind the 2 defenders marking him and he dinked it over the keeper to claim his first goal in English football.

Rodrigo Teixeira nets a hat trick and earns another M.O.M award

Another superb performance from the Robins kept them top of the table with Bradford City waiting to pounce on any mistakes made. Manager Hans made a hosts of changes by freshening his team and bringing in six new faces from the side that faced Crewe Alexandra. Torquay United came into this match with a new manager and they also managed to get Antonio Valencia and Luis Nani on loan from Man Utd. J.S the new Torquay manager demanded a win on his home debut but it wasn't to be.

The game started tremendously well for Swindon Town with a few good chances and they settled in the game quicker than Torquay United. The home fans were stunned on the 11th minute when Fabio Santos struck a shot from 35 yards and there was nothing Bevan could do in the Torquay goal. He just controlled the ball and within a flash, the ball was in the back of the net. Swindon Town could have had a second minutes after but a superb save from Bevan was enough to keep Teixeira's shot away from goal. After that chance, the home side started to get in their strides and started creating a few opportunities. First Valencia missing the target from 10 yards out then Mansell unable to keep his shot down. The equaliser eventually came on the 19th minute when Nani fired in a bullet from 20 yards which took a massive deflection off Majao and it wrong footed Denis and Nani claimed the goal. Darren Fletcher himself a loannee from Man Utd started to get in the game a bit more. Firstly his through ball to Said and then a long range effort clipping the top of the bar. The momentum swung back in Swindon's favour and 3 minutes before half time, Teixiera managed to get at the end of a corner kick and he guided the ball in the back of the net thanks to a beautifully delivered ball by Fletcher.

Torquay United came out in the second half using all 3 of their substitute. The most surprising one was to take Nani off for Sills which didn't go down too well with the Torquay faithful. Things went from bad to worst for Torquay United when Teixeira got his second of the game with the easiest of goal that he'll ever score. He rounded his hat trick off on the 68th minute with a curling free kick which landed in the bottom left corner. A few minutes later castillo came on for teixeira who received a standing ovation from the travelling fans. The Torquay players were starting to get frustrated at the referee for giving Swindon Town persistent free kicks and Woods started arguing with the referee and he received 2 yellow card in the space of 5 minutes and Torquay had to finish the game with 10 men but they weren't really troubled with Swindon Town opting to sit back and hit on the counter attack.

Tim Ward voted M.O.M after a brilliant display at defending and attacking

Swindon Town remained top of the league after fighting back from one down to win the game in the last 36 minutes. Bottom side Bury came into this game managerless after losing their first 4 games wheras the home side came into this encounter full of confidence after hitting 18 goals in their previous four games and only conceding 3 goals. Swindon Town started the games as clear favourives but they got a run for their money at the end of the day. An Electrifying 36-minute burst from Swindon Town tore Bury apart in the fifth league match and put the favourites in the driving seat for a promotion to division 3. Manager Hans introduction of Tim Ward for Johnny at half-time proved decisive, with the 22-year-old scoring a hat trick and setting up the other goal to keep Swindon 4 points ahead of automatic promotion.

It was the visitors, though, who snatched a shock lead after 8 minutes. M.Jones was the creator, turning Chris Baird inside out down the right channel, before cutting the ball back to the centre, which presented English younster Richie Baker with a tap-in to open his account for the season. It was almost 2-0 on 23 minutes when Jones floated over another fine cross and Richie glanced his header just wide of the far post. A few minutes later, a superb reflex save from Wayne Brown denied Said with what looked a certain equaliser when the Egyptian fired the ball goalwards after Darren Fletcher's knockdown. Halftime came at the right time for Bury and they went in at the break with a slender lead.

Swindon Town made their change at the start of the half by Substituting Johnny for Ward and he had a real impact on the game. The game was turned around after 50 minutes when the bottom side finally caved under sustained pressure, Said's run-and-shot was blocked, with Fletcher glancing on. The ball fell to Ward and the young midfielder took great delight in smashing it under Brown, who perhaps should have done better. 6 minutes later an inswingging corner from ward was met by Willians and he made no mistake from that range. After 58 minutes, The Robins goalkeeper Cesar Denis almost made a blunder when he lost the ball when sliding in with Baker. However, his defence managed to scramble clear. It was, though, soon forgotten as the hosts went up the other end and made it 3-1. Willians fed Ward on the left, and the American charged into the penalty area before drilling a low shot past Brown. Any hopes Bury had of a comeback were ended in the 78th minute when the unfortunate Paul Scott headed a free-kick from Ward into his own net and Ward was awarded the goal as it was on target and the game finished 4-1.

Warken Adilson instrumental in the game but strikers couldn't finish

After winning their first 6 league games, Swindon Town looked in complete control to be heading into division 3 but 1 defeat in the cup, 1 lost to Bradford City and a draw today leaves the Robins in 2nd place with 8 games gone. This game against Walsall should have been done and dusted at half time but a series of misses by the inexperienced Ciro left Hans's man to go home with only one point.

The visitors came to County Ground today to try and frustrate Swindon Town as much as possible and in the end the Walsall manager Kieran Bipari should have been impressed with his team display even though they were riding their luck at times. The game started as expected with Swindon town on the front foot and Walsall on the back foot. 60 seconds on the clock Fabio Santos thought he managed to get a penalty for his team but after consulting the linesman referee Michael Oliver decided not to award the penalty but replays showed that Mark Hughes did step in his tracks but Fabio Santos maybe went down a bit too theatrically. Swindon Town kept their concentration and could have broken the deadlock on the 6th minute but a superb instinct save from Clayton Ince made sure that he managed to clear his lines. From the corner Welton Felipe got at the end of Derley cross but the crossbar denied the Brazilian defender his first goal for the club. Swindon Town kept mounting up the pressure and quarter of an hour gone, Ciro had a chance one on one with the keeper but he couldn’t keep his shot down and another chance went begging. A couple of minutes later, Mohab Said was denied by the woodwork; his 30 yarder struck the bar and rebounded back into Ince's arm. The closest Walsall came to scoring in the first half was a long range effort by Stephen Hughes which narrowly missed the target.

After the restart Swindon Town created four opportunities in the first 5 minutes but again the final touch wasn't there. Fabio Santos had the best chance of the game but couldn't control his header from 5 yards out. Rodrigo Teixeira had a half chance on the 65th minute but a clearance off the line by Peter Till kept the 2 sides on level terms. The crowd was begging to get more and more frustrated by their team's lack of ability to break the deadlock and most than half the stadium left with 10 minutes to go. Ciro could have had a tap in during the latter stage of the game but Darren Fletcher's pass was too short and it was easily dealt with by the Walsall defence. The game ended in a disappointing 0-0 draw for the Robins but luckily for them, the gap at the top is only 2 points now after the loss that Bradford city suffered at the hands of Carlisle United.

After the game, we managed to catch up with the Swindon Town boss and this was what he had to say

"I think we had a decent game today but maybe the final touch was lacking but overall I’m pretty pleased with the team's performance . We've had a couple of bad results recently and lets hope that we can put all this behind us and concentrate on getting 3 points from our next game. We know that Hartlepool are a good team and we'll have to be at our best to get the 3 points.

Domingos Willians unleashes a rocket to put Swindon Town 2 up

Swindon Town reclaimed their place at the top of the table after a fantastic display to beat an inform Hartlepool United four-nil in their own back yard. Swindon Town came into this game aiming to bounce back from those 3 shocking results that the suffered in the previous week whereas Hartlepool came into this after winning their last 4 games and only conceding two goals. The Swindon boss opted to make a host of changes from the team that drew 0-0 against walsall and Hartlepool remained unchanged from the team that beat Torquay 2-0.

swindon Town stated the game like they always do by putting their opponents on the back foot and stated to dominate possesion also having a few shots from distance. Willians had 2 great shot saved by Flinders in the first 8 minutes. First a fierceful drive from 25 yards parried away and the second shot tipped other the bar after Willians tried a little chip. Rune Lange had a great opportunity to put the home side in the lead but scuffed his shot and it went out for a goal kick. Two minutes later Mahob Said received the ball on the halfway line and skipped past 2 players and lashed out a shot for 35 yards and it landed in the back of the net like a rocket and Flinders didn't move. A minute later it was Willian's turn and he also hit an absolute bullet and again Flinders was rooted to the spot. Just before the break Andy Mankhouse had a chance to put the host back in the game but a reflex save by Soliman made sure his team had a two goals cussion going in at half time.

Hartlepool knew that if they were to get anything from the game then they would have push up and leave some gap at the back and this was exactly what happened. Swindon Town managed to counter hartlepool's attack and after 4 touches the ball was in the back of the net. A great counter attack started by Soliman who realeased the ball to Willians on the left who managed to execute a long crossfield pass to Said who crossed the ball in first time to Castillo who finished from 5 yards out with a cool header in the bottom left corner and it was game over for Hartlepool. Leon Mc Sweeney hit the bar from his freekick on the 74th minute and should have scored minutes later but his header went straight in Soliman's arm. Castillo got his second of the game on the 78th minute thanks to a scramble by the game and Castillo was there to pounce.

Re: Swindon Town| EC 4064|Rise to Division 1 |

Have been so busy over the last couple of days with football training that i have't been able to do match reports.

Here is what happened in my last 2 games.

Won in the English cup- beat derby 5-4 on penalties. ( match finished a boring 0-0). I have to fancy my chances of progressing into the last 16 after I got drawn against Leicester City. Most of the big boys are left in it but I managed to beat Arsenal in a friendly a couple days ago so I don't mind who I meet if I progress into the next round.

league result: Beat Darlington 7-2. Thanks to goals from Muriqui (Double) Fabio Santos (Double) Fletcher Beckham and Toloi. Still top of the league but its such a close league that if i loose my next game i could end up 4th.

Transfer News

The Fulham manager tried to get Paulo Henrique Chagas on loan before his rise but there was no way I was gonna loan him. Still I've put over 15 players on the loan list until their TB expires. Only 1 player has left on loan so far and that was Aranha who went to chalton on a half a season loan.

Swindon Town set to shock the world by enrolling a huge transfer fiasco in 2 weeks time

Swindon Fans were given the best news that they could ever receive when manager Hans came out to a press conference by confirming that the team will have a huge sum of money to spend in a couple of weeks time. He didn't confirm how much cash he will have but the money is said to be in the region of as low as £100 million to as high as £200 million. This was what he had to say

" When I first came here, I promised the fans that they will be playing in division 1 one day and I also promised that I would turn this team into the best team in the country. People started questioning me and saying that I'm a total joke and that I will never be able to do that with the small budget that we have at our disposal. We currently have 120 players competing for places in our team. That a hell of an amount and some players have spoken to me about their desire to go to another team for more regular football and I understand that. But let me make one thing clear they will not be going on the cheap; and teams wanting them will have to fork out more than we played for them"

Sources close to the manager has told a newspaper that the manager has already made a shortlist of players he wants which contains some world class superstars and he also comfirmed that around 100 players wants to leave the club as they are being targetted by bigger and better teams. Players like Xabi Alonso and Diego have been some of the players being linked with a move to Swindon Town.

Could this really happen. Stay tuned to find out more.

"Everybody will start fearing us starting tomorrow" Stated the gaffer

swindon_town_fc_2007_badge.PNG

Sky reporter Geoff Shreeves caught up with manager Hans Parker after a training session today and this is what he said:

Geoff- "Reports coming out from County Ground is that you will be putting 25 players on the transfer list tomorrow. Is that statement true"

Parker-" Yes, like I said before a lot of players have come up to me and said that they want to move on to another team to secure first team football and I to accept that."

Geoff- "So how much money are you looking for from these players"

Parker- "After consulting my backroom staff and having a chat with the club's accountant, we reached a conclusion that around 35-40 million might be coming in tomorrow"

Geoff- "After that I suspect there will be more players leaving the club"

Parker-"Oh yes loads and loads of players are going to be leaving unless they are something special they will be sold as we need to strenghten our squad in all area."

Geoff- "Alonso and Diego have been linked to Swindon Town in the past." "How true is that story"

Parker- "It's absulute nonsence. Our aim is to be able to buy quality players like them but it will be very difficult to do so unless we move up a couple of divisions."

Geoff- "Could you give us any indication of who you are going to target with the money you receive from these sales"

Parker- " I wish I could but you are going to have to wait like everybody else. We've been in contact with a couple of teams and they've given us the permission to discuss our aim with the players and hopefully they will join this revolution soon" " Here is a little a hink we are hoping to buy four players with that money and none of them will be worth more that 11 million."

Geoff- "Thanks a lot Hans we wish you the very best of luck in we hope to catch up with you real soon"

Parker- "Pleasure as always doing an interview with you Geoff"

Dzeko- "Im coming to Swindon Town to make history"

The latest player who is set to join Swindon Town is 23 year old Bosinan Stiker Edin Dzeko from Wolfsburg for an undisclosed fee believed to be in the region of £10-15 million. The striker who finished second in the top scoring chart in the Bunderliga scoring 28 goals is believed to relish a new challenge after winning the league title in Germany. Wolfsburg fans are in shock after hearing the news and this was what he had to say

"Wolfsburg will always have a place in my heart. I loved everything about the place but I have to move onto bigger and better things. People are going to start questioning me for moving to a Division 4 side but after having a chat with the manager, he laid out his plans to me and the project looked so exciting and it was a once in a lifetime opportunity."

"Hans had a little chat with me and he told me that he is looking to bring in 14 more players after the purchase of Edin Dzeko but i've told him that he'll have to sell to buy and he accepted that."

Another two international players set to join Swindon Town

ozil.jpgClaudio_Marchisio.jpg

Ozil left and Marchisio right set to sign for Swindon Town after agreeing personal terms.

More joy for Swindon Town fans as Parker brings in more quality to the team.

Day after day, for the last week or so Swindon Town have been stealing all the headlines in the backpages of newspapers and according to the Daily Mirror today, Hans Parker has again managed to convince two more players to join his division 4 revolution. They are Mesut Ozil and Claudio Marchisio. This comes following the chairman comments yesterday after he admitted that Parker was looking to bring in more players to the team.

The deal that sees Ozil join the Robins is believed to be worth more than the fee they forked out for Edin Dzeko. It is believed to be an undisclosed fee of around 9.8 million and also sending a player to his former club Werder Bremen. The player moving in the opposite direction hasn't yet been identified but it is believed that he hasn't been involved with the first team so far. Claudio Marchisio on the other hand is due to fly to England this afternoon to finalise his deal but he won't be ready for the away trip to Hereford united. He could cost the team up to 8 million but another 2 players should be moving to Juventus which should bring the fee down a bit.

Swindon Town have also managed to sign 4 players from the Bunderliga and they are Manuel Junglas, Sebastian Langkamp, Davidson Drobo-Ampen and Michael Parensen.

They have also sold 16 players and 4 more are set to leave today.

Negredo and Benaglio the latest players to join the club

benaglio_400.jpgalvaro_negredo.jpg

More good news if you are a Swindon Town fan. The latest players to join the Swindon revolution is 24 years old Spanish striker Alvaro Negredo. He is believed to be joining the club for a fee in the region of £8.5 million. The striker is set to join the club from Sevilla, a team who he just joined a couple of months ago. Speaking about his move to County Ground he said that this is biggest challenge so far

"This is a big challenge for me. It might be considered a risk joining a division 4 side when the world cup is only 8 months away. But seeing the type of players this team has been able to attract then it will be a privilage to play alongside them and I can't wait to play alongside Edin Dzeko in particular."

The other player to join is Diego Benaglio who becomes the second signing from Wolfsburg. Benaglio is going to take over in goal after Swindon Town were forced to sell highly rated Croatian Goalkeeper Delac. Parker is said to be happy with his team so far but expects a few more players coming in and going out the club in the next couple of days

"This is not the end of the spending spree. More are coming in and a few are going to leave in the next couple of days to help raise the cash for new players to arrive. The team is building along nicely but we need to be careful with the amount of cash we spend because we do not want to go into admistration and to do so we have to keep a few million "

Aly Cissokho Glen Johnson and Lass Diarra completes £25 million move to Swindon Town

AlyCissokhoAFP200.jpga044261bd495019922b04ff7ba28d75a.jpglass-AFP1.jpg

According to Parker, 3 more top class players have completed moves to Swindon Town in a deal believed to be worth as much as £25 million. Aly Cissokho has moved from Lyon for £4.6 million which Parker considers to be a bargain.

"Aly for just under £5 million. Yea thats a bargain considering Lyon only bought him during the summer for 13 million. He will bring more of an attacking play to our game and is very good at defending as well and in a couple of years time I believe he could be a top class player.

This was Cissokho take on all of this

" I'm very proud to go and play in England as I've always dreamt of playing there. Swindon Town have really caught my eyes and no disrespect to any other time but I believe that this team is too good to be in Division 4"

The second player to join was former chelsea, Portsmouth and Liverpool defender Glen Johnson. Johnson was surprised by the way he was shipted to AC Milan from Liverpool and has said that the manager was doing deals behind his back but he is relishing the prospect of getting Swindon Town into division 1

"I am very happy to be back in england and i'm looking forwards to this project and I can't wait to get started." " Fabio Capello has guarenteed me that playing in division 4 will not affect my chances to represent England at the world cup."

The last player to join in this trio was defensive mid Lass Diarra who joined from powerhouse Real Madrid for just under £12 million. He said that after the sales of Kaka, Ronaldo and Benzema he couldn't stay in a team where they were going to settle for second best behind barca every year and grabbed the opprtunity to join Swindon Town as soon as it was offered

"All I see on the tele now is Swindon Town buying this and buying that and I said to myself this is a great team being built there and I wished I could join them and a couple of hours later I got a phone from my agent saying that Swindon wanted me and in an instance I said yes."

Claudio Marchisio bags the Man Of The Match award after scoring 2 and Creating 1.

Swindon Town ran another riot at home by slotting 8 goals past Torquay United. This win keeps The Robins well on course to win the divison 4 title. At the moment they have an eight point gap over second place Bradford City and a staggering 17 points gap over 3rd place Walsall. This game saw Aly Cissokho, Glen Johnson and Lass Diarra make their debuts for their new club. Torquay United came into this match as 50/1 to win this match and this proved to be the case.

Swindon Town took total control of the game and new signings Glen Johnson and Aly Cissokho were already causing troubles in the first couple of minutes by bombing forwards whenever they could. Alvaro Negredo had a beautiful curling shot from just outside the box brush off the upright on the 5th minute and Gregory Van Der Wiel had his header saved. This relentless dominance payed off on the ninth minute when Claudio Marchisio's hard driven shot left Beeven rooted for the opening goal of the game. Torquay United tried to get back in the game but Jermaine Beckford's shot was easily dealt with by Baneglio in the Swindon Town goal. Swindon Town quality were too much for Torquay to handle and a brilliant one-two by Marchisio and Bruno Coutinho left Erb chasing back but Coutinho kept a cool head and dinked it over the keeper to score his first goal for the team on the 26th minute. The first half came to a close with swindon town having 15 shots on taget compared to Torquay's 3.

if there were any doubts that the three points weren't in the bag then 1 minute after the restart Marchisio settled the game with a freekick from 25 yards which Bevan got a hand to but not a strong enough hand. Negredo added insult to injury when he timed his run to perfection and scored the 4th for Swindon Town. Rode then pulled one back for the visitors on the 54th minute with a lovely header. Minutes later ozil scored a stunning volley after Pablo Hernandez had crafted some space for the German winger. Ozil made it 6-1 two minutes when he skipped past 4 players including the goalkeeper to score his 3rd goal in 2 game. Torquay united had no replies and Edin Dzeko made it 7 before Negredo got his sixth goal in 2 games for the Robins.

New team gelling well according to Parker

The winter transfer window was something to remember for Swindon Town fans. Their team managed to capture some of the best players in the world as well as buying some of the most wanted hotshots in the world. During the half season that Parker has been here he has brought in an astonishing 201 players and he sold 96 leaving his squad with 105 players making them the largest squad in the country. Before the transfer window Parker promised that he'll have an interview with Geoff Shreeves after the closure of the windon and he stayed true to his word.

Geoff- "Nice to see you again Hans"

Parker- "Alright, how you doing mate"

Geoff- "So what is your assesment of the work that you've done over the transfer window"

Parker- "It's been really good actually. We have managed to capture the best players possible at this stage and we are looking to progress more. Our academy is looking really strong and its all looking like its starting to come together.

Geoff- "Negredo has been a sensation so far with 8 goals 1 assist in 3 games." "Has he been the standout player for you so far."

Parker- "Yes I have been impressed with him but if i'm being honest I think most of the signings are living up to their expectation like marchisio who's been fantastic for a DM scoring 2 and creating 2."

Geoff- "How is the team gelling."

Parker- "Well the results speak for itself doesn't it. 33 goals in 6 games is a decent return isn't it."

Geoff- "What next for this team now"

Parker- "The intention when I came here was simple. Get this team in Division1 in 3 seasons and thats still the target. So we are looking for three successcive promotion."

Geoff- "Thanks again for your time hans, really appriciated it"

Parker- "Pleasure"

Team value up to £200 million- Suggests club Accountant

1256137012-money.jpg1256137012-money.jpg

According to accountants working for Swindon Town, the club is officially the richest team in England if they were to sell their entire squad. Their estimated value is believed to be in the region of £200 million with figures expected to keep rising within the next couple of months and could eventually reach as high as £300 million by the time the season ends. Their squad currently consists of 115 players- 40 seniors and 75 youths.

Their bank account is also looking very secure at the moment with a transfer budget of £19.9 million and a balance of £9.4 million. accountants are working closely watching the current wage bills and sources from within the department say that if the club wants to keep their healthy position they are going to have to either send players on loan or sell them. Only one option is available for Parker at this instant and it is to send players on loan. Around 25 players have been placed on the loan list.

In footballing news swindon Town have kept their 100% record at home with a 5-1 thrashing of Walsall. Goals from Ozil, Marchisio (2), Dzeko and Negredo sealed the win. This win came at a price though as in form new signing Alvaro Negredo who has scored 12 goals in 5 games will be sidelined for approximately 8 days and will miss atleast three games but manager Hans Parker is not that concerned and believes Elia will step in Negredo's shoes and fill them comfortably.

Yoann Gourcuff wanted by 3 of the so called big four

1-gourcuff-of-girondins-bordeaux-celebrates-after-scoring-during-their-french-ligue-1-soccer-match-against-stade-rennes-at-route-de-lorient-stadium-in-rennes_169.jpg

Wanted man Arsenal, Man Utd and Liverpool contact Swindon Town over playmaker

Swindon Town manager Hans Parker has confirmed that Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool all are watching Yoann Gourcuff and could bid for him once his transfer ban is over on the 2nd of January. He has also insisted that the player won't leave on the cheap if sold. Yoann Gourcuff is currently rated as a £25 million man by his chairman but Parker says that it will take around £42 million to secure the signing of the French international.

"Representatives from Liverpool, Man Utd and Arsenal have all been in contact with us over the possible signing of Yoann. I can confirm that the price they were offering were completely disrespectful. We were offered a couple of fringe players but we won't budge from the £42 million buyout clause which was installed in Yoann contract when he joined a couple of weeks ago"

"Nevertheless we are not looking to sell Yoann as we rate him as one of the best up and coming midfielders in the world and I believe he'll be one of the best one day. The player still has 3 years left on his contract after this one and we want to keep him here as long as possible."

"He is enjoying himself here and has not shown any sign that suggest that he wants to leave. He feels at home here with the likes of Lass,Cissokho, Thebaux, Sertic and many more of the other french guys that are helping him settle in. he's only 23 and I can see him being here for a very very long time."

In footballing news Swindon Town won their game 2-1 against Rochdale. Goals from Marchisio and Elia were just enough to make it 6 wins in a row. A late goal from Keltie proved to be a consolation for Rochdale. Next up for Swindon Town is a trip to Brighton and Hove Albion. Only 9/10 points are needed for Swindon Town to win the league.

With only 8 games left Parker would want to wrap things up and give his youngsters a run out to prove their worth.

1 SWINDON TOWN 30 25 4 1 117 25 92 79

2 Bradford City 30 21 2 7 76 42 34 65

3 Walsall 30 15 11 4 56 32 24 56

4 Yeovil Town 30 14 9 7 56 35 21 51

5 Brighton and Hove Albion 30 14 5 11 39 33 6 47

Manager sets target for Alvaro Negredo

negredo0912076.jpg

Despite only playing 7 games for Swindon Town manager Hans Parker has told the media that he expects Alvaro Negredo to be top goal scorer by the end of the season. Negredo is currently on fire having scored 15 goals in 7 games and he isn't far behind top scorer Krsztian Nemeth who has 19 goals in 29 games.

Having missed the last 2 games with a groin injury Alvaro Negredo is set to return to action tonight against Yoevil Town a game where Swindon Town could wrap up the title with 5 games to spare. Muller, Alderweil and Cissokho are also set to start following Suspension to Kjaer, Tiredness from Pablo Hernadez and a chance for Cissokho to prove that he deserves to be first choice left back. This was what Parker had to say at his press conference on Friday morning

"Hopefully the title will be wrapped up tonight. Even if we win the title tonight a lot of players have personal targets to achieve like Negredo finishing top scorer. I know he only signed a couple of weeks ago but he isn't far behind Nemeth and I think come the end of the season he will be the one with the golden boot."

"We are also going to be giving Alderweireld, Cissokho and Muller chances to prove that they are good enough to be in this team. We bought these lads for the future but they are already showing signs of great capability and I'm sure they will be world class one day"

Swindon Town snaps up wonderkids on free transfers

danielpacheco.jpg10Gael%20Kakuta.jpg

Pacheco and Kakuta will be learning their trades in the reserves

Swindon Town have proudly announced the signing of two up and coming youngsters in the name of Dani Pacheco and Gael Kakuta. Both players were believed to be free agents and Parker was quick to snap the pair up. Parker believes the combined £2 million paid for them will prove to be a bargain in the future and they will turn out to be superstars. This was Parker's take on the signature of the pair;

"This is great news for us. More great, young and talented players are choosing to come to Swindon Town and this shows that we've come leaps and bound over the small period of time I've been here

Pacheco and Kakuta will bring flair to the team and this is something that very few players have and I'm very proud to be signing such players.

In other news Swindon Town have won the league with four games to spare and the challenge that Parker had set out for Negredo has been achieved as he has scored 24 goals compared to Nemth 21 with only one game remaining

Stats

Negredo- 12 games, 24 goals, 10 assists

Nemeth- 34 games, 21 goals, 22 assists

It will be very interesting to see who wins the player of the season.
