Re: Survivor Setup Official Thread

CSKA Moscow finally makes the headlines!

Today the CSKA Moscow chairman, has announced that their new manager will be an untested American. Little details have surfaced about the young American's history in soccer, but it is clear that he will not be scared to shake things up a bit. Just hours after being appointed the managerial postion, young Jason Millner shook the foundation of the club by putting several players on the transfer list. In response to sever inquiries about the recent events, Jason had this to say, "In looking at the current squad list, it is clear that some younger faces will have to be brought in. At first glance this club looks more like a retirement home, than a major football club." There is a major problem with the new managers plans, however, and that is "how will he be able to afford the players needed to compete at this level?" His answer was simple, "I will need to be creative in order to get the quality needed at this level." It remains unclear which players he will be looking to add permanently to the squad, but he has already been actively looking for players to loan.

One thing is for sure, though, and that is CSKA Moscow will be really interesting in the following months.

Re: Survivor Setup Official Thread

Both you guys did incredibly well and are a great asset to this setup.

Ivan although you had a poor run in to the end of this season' date=' you was challenging for a while and opposite to last season where you were unstoppable thats what cost you this season.

Danny you did what you set out to do and that was not draw so many games, spent a bit of time in the number two position but ultimately had a great season.

I was thinking of doing a manager of the season but couldnt decide on one, perhaps i may do a poll just for fun and see what happens.

I had in mind Anthony(juvefan) because he came in at the start of season two and took over Fenerbache who finished bottom in season one.

Finishing 14th may in some peoples eyes not be anything special but considering they were the clubs wooden spoon holders i think he deserved it.[/size']

Thanks Steve ;)...although Ant did a good job he finished over unmanaged teams :P and he doesnt answer Transfer bids :(

Re: Survivor Setup Official Thread

Ivan is predicting next season with his inter...

We had a terrible run last season. i will be pleased if i could get some fresh blood but we have a low budget as this is a hard time for the club. if they arrive i hope they will help us win the league again. if my ideas go trough, you will watch new, fresh, young, and unpredictable inter (in a good way). i would like performance from the first season, when we had almost made a double by winning the league and loosing in shield finals. by winning two tournaments it would make us the best team ever played in this fantastic setup.

during the conversation Ivan said his favorite quote a few times:

he also wanted to announce players he would like to sell to another club, hopefully as some others to come as replacements:

Cruz(CF-91) and Pauleta(CF-91)... would like to swap for a 90(+) forward

Materazzi(CB-92) and Evseev(CB-91)... swap for a 90(+) centre back

Dacourt(DM/CM-90) and Gurenko (RB-90)... swap for a 89+ right back

Re: Survivor Setup Official Thread

Paul Thame starts recruiting once again for the upcoming season, where he hopes to finish higher than the fifth place Arsenal have finished in the past two seasons. So far, Paul has signed Nicola Zigic for a 12 million plus Michael Mifsud fee, and Francisco Guillermo Ochoa has signied for a 14 million plus Manuel Almunia fee.

1.gifPaul Thame

Francisco Ochoa £14,000,000

Javier Pinola £13,000,000

Frazier Campbell £1,600,000

Justin Hoyte, released

Manuel Alimunia, part of deal for Ochoa

Frank Lampard 96

Signing midway through season two Frank played 13times after leaving Chelsea and helped with two goals. His first full season would expect the midfielder to help with more goals along the way.

Paul will be looking to better the 5th place he has finished in the two previous seasons. So far he has brought in a younger keeper in Ochoa but still has the experienced Lehmann and Rogerio in his squad. All other players are thirty or less giving them a young feel.

140.gifRobbie M

Carlos Salcido £16,000,000

Martin Petrov £11,000,000

Santiago Ezquerro £3,700,000

Albert Jorquera £2,700,000

Ronaldinho 98

The greatest player in the game and still at Barcelona where they will be hoping he can produce the kind of form we know he is capable of. Two seasons averaging less than 7.00 and 15goals netted in two seasons, the brazilian needs to rekindle the magic.

RobbieM landed the hottest seat in the house and looks to bring some glory to the sleeping giant. Having not had much success at Villareal this will be a big task and having the best players in the squad will not give this team respect as both seasons have seen them finish around midtable.

391.gifJehan Bilimoria

Gabriel Heinze £20,000,000

Steven Gerrard 97

Stevie G signed for Bayern in season one and has made 56appearances in his career there but has only scored seven goals. Only one strike last season from a midfielder who likes to go forward may of been a downfall to Munichs campaign last season.

Jehan has captured a great signing in Heinze for the upcoming season and will be demanded by the fans to have a good campaign after a poor finish last season of 16th. More a lack of players than lack of talent a bigger squad is possibly needed for a lengthy campaign.

218.gifColin Barker

Gary Speed £450,000

Silveria Juan 92

Juan will have to be a stalwart again after playing nearly all of the past two seasons the highly rated brazilian defender will be pushed hard every match.

New to the setup Colin Barker will be looking to turn Benfica into a challenging side. Having never recreated the form they showed in the early part of season one where they led for so long fans are hoping for new guidance under Colin.

21.gifAlan Neller SNR

Julio Baptista £11,000,000

Carlo Cudicini, part of Baptista deal

Scott Sinclair, part of Baptista deal

Kaka 97

The awesome Kaka shocked some of the footballing world last season by signing for Chelsea but eventually helped them towards the league title despite a rocky spell. Will be inspirational behind the forward line this campaign.

The eventual champions did things the hard way last campaign by winning the title on the final day. Having led the first half of the season and not suffering defeat there immense lead was crushed by Real Madrid after a run of poor results but a win on the final day sent the trophy to London and a relieved Alan Neller. Should do well this season also finishing somewhere in the top two or three.

254.gifJason Millner

Arturo Vidal £8,000,000

Remy Riou £4,000,000

Mesut Ozil £3,000,000

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink £500,000

Yann Laucher, released

Igor Akinfeev 91

Shot stopper Akinfeev will have to be a giant between the posts as CSKA embark on what may be another season of struggling. The young keeper has missed only one league game in the first two seasons.

New manager Jason is a unknown quantity to me and has a challenge in making CSKA have a successfull campaign following two dissapointing seasons with last seasons finishing third from bottom there best of the two.

398.gifSteve Mawby

Thomas Hitzlsperger £10,000,000

Gary Speed £450,000

Cassio Lincoln, part of Hitzlsperger deal

Wesley Sneijder 93

Sneijder has been in fine form at Schalke and can do more to help his teams cause, two seasons rated over seven and four goals in each season gives Schalke a solid midfielder.

A dissapointing finish after finishing in the top ten in season one, Steve will be hoping to break back into the top ten this season.

350.gifAnthony Margetti

Hernan Crespo 94

Crespo has netted twenty times in two seasons at Fenerbache and remains there most expensive player.

Anthony established Fenerbache last season as a solid mid table side and finished in 14th place which proved a big improvement on there season one campaign. Can they expect any better this season.

109.gifIvan Sakoman

Gabriel Milito £1,000,000

Pauleta £3,400,000

Marco Materazzi, part of Milito deal

Vadim Evsheev, part of Milito deal

Gianluigi Buffon 96

One of the games best keepers and the first transfer of this setup when he signed for Inter for £30,000,000. Ever present in goal and a real gem.

Season ones champions will be hurting after finishing eighth in season two and will be looking to press this season. Has the potential to challenge but needs to win the easy games as well as the toughies.

110.gifDanny Williams

Aleksandr Kerzhakov £5,000,000

Marco Marchionni, part of Kerzhakov deal

Raffaele Palladino, part of Kerzhakov deal

Fernando Torres 93

Torres has banged in twenty five goals in sixty nine appearances for Juve and after a promising season last season more is expected from the youngster.

A great season last season for Danny but his Juve side lost the pace towards the end and finished 4th, a massive improvement on season one when Danny just avoided the resignation zone in 18th spot. Who knows what to expect in season three from this side.

Roberto Hilbert £13,200,000

Denilson £6,000,000

Kevin Jacmot, part of Hilbert deal

Remi Vercoutre, part of Denilson deal

Juninho 95

Although 32years of age Juninho is still playing as well as the younger members of the squad and although he will miss the beginning of the season Teje will welcome him back into the first team when fit.

With new boss Teje at the helm Lyon will be wanting to become a top ten side instead of making up the numbers near the bottom. A couple of new faces and the existing members playing well may achieve that goal.

Jermaine Defoe £14,000,000

Gael Givet £13,000,000

Andres Guardado £13,000,000

Hasan Salihamidzic £9,000,000

Fernando Morientes £8,000,000

Marcelinho £6,000,000

Pauleta £3,400,000

Marco Materazzi, part of Milito deal

Vadim Evseev, part of Milito deal

Gabriel Heinze £20,000,000

Louis Saha £17,000,000

Emerson £9,000,000

Gabriel Milito £1,000,000

Paul Scholes 94

Manchester Uniteds rock, Scholes is the player who never gives less than 100% and will be giving his all to try and win United that elusive silverware.

Having come close both seasons and also having spent time on top of the survivor league table its no doubt United will be pushing again and anything less than a top five finish will be poor campaign.

115.gifRaz Hooley

Louis Saha £17,000,000

Adrian Mutu £8,200,000

Carlos Mineiro £8,000,000

Fernando Meira £7,000,000

Ricardo Oliveira, part of Mutu deal

Marcelo, part of Meira deal

John Terry 97

Terry made a great impact after his arrival at the San Siro and will be leading from the backline as they strive to get the Italian club into the higher positions of the league. Should also chip in with a couple of goals this campaign.

Raz will be expected to deliver the goods this season after a uneventfull league campaign last term. Having won the shield fans will be hungry for more silverware and additions like Meira and Mutu and the leagues golden boot winner Louis Saha should go a way to achieving that.

163.gifFraser McInnes

Theofanis Gekas £15,000,000

Iker Casillas 96

Super stopper Casillas has not missed a game for Madrid in two seasons and the young keeper will be desperated for his side to go one better this season and win the league.

Frasers near yet so far Madrid ran Chelsea all the way to the title and lost out on the final day. With the same team bar the one addition of Gekas it will be expected that Madrid will be up there again this time also.

123.gifSam Wainwright

Francesco Totti 96

Totti will be wanting to find the net a bit more this season and try to put behind them a awfull season that saw them finish bottom last campaign. With only four goals and a 6.84 average rating last season the ever present Totti will have a lot to prove.

Sam takes the hotseat at Roma and will be looking to lead them to a better season than season twos campaign. With no new signings to date Sam is looking at the team he has to hand to try and have a good season.

Jeronimo Cacau £12,100,000

Kevin Nolan £10,000,000

Sylvain Wiltord £2,400,000

Enzo Maresca, part of Nolan deal

Daniel Alves 93

Alves has yet to show the strength and skill worthy of his 93rating in this setup. Two seasons of less than seven in the average ratings and no assists despite being a usefull attacking fullback means we havent seen the best of this young man.

A great first season in charge for Kev guiding Sevilla to the cup and finishing 6th in the league, they could produce the same this time round with a couple of quality signings in Cacau and Nolan.

348.gifWolf Catt

Robbie Keane 92

Keane did his part in trying to get Shakhtar off the bottom of the league by netting seven times. They managed to reach 19th thanks to Keanes goals but will be looking to the Irishman to hit double figures this season.

Newcomer Wolfcatt like Romas Sam has a monumental task ahead of him by trying to get Shakhtar on some sort of a roll. Having finished in the bottom two in the past two seasons will WC have what it takes to get the best out of Donetsk.

414.gifDino Rezek

Emerson £9,000,000

Miroslav Klose 94

A poor season in front of goal in season two for Klose after only scoring on six occasions. More is required from the German if Bremen are to have a good season.

Emerson is Dinos only transfer signing and although a appearance in the cup final last season they didnt have a great league campaign and may suffer the same fate this time out by finishing in the lower regions.

172.gifAdam Johnson

David Villa 95

David Villa has scored thirty goals in sixty nine appearances for Valencia and has helped them to two top ten finishes. Villa also had a hand in thirty six assists making him involved in nearly all Valencias goals. Also the setups player of the season last campaign.

Not Valencias best season but with Villa in the side theres no way Adams side will finish lowly. No transfer activity but a top half finish is likely.

174.gifDan Payne

Juan Roman Riquelme 96

Villareals midfield maestro will need to lead well this season as the side look like starting managerless. Eleven goals in seventy two appearances from midfield for the Argentine.

Unless Villareal can find a manager this season will be hard and long and would be expected not to finish any higher than the low position RobbieM left them in last time out.

New CSKA Moscow Boss Furious About Season's Start!

Three games into the season CSKA Moscow boss Jason Millner is already planning to make radical changes to the current squad. Citing, for starters, the defense's utter lack of performance, as the one of the primary reasons for the club's poor start. When asked about possible transfers, Jason said that a number of defenders are available to leave at the right price. A source within the club mentioned that Christoph Metzelder, Sergei Ignashevich, Samuel Osei Kuffour, and Deividas Semberas are the players most likely to see their exits from the club. At the time of this announcement, there were no clear teams interested. That, however, is sure to change in the coming days.

Turn 6 - Thu 13 Sep 2007

Thought i'd try something different as the other report seemed a bit tough to read.

Arsenal 2 - 2 Lyon

Milan 2 - 3 Roma

Manchester United 0 - 1 SV Werder Bremen

Valencia 1 - 4 Barcelona

Sevilla 3 - 2 Juventus

Villarreal 1 - 1 CSKA Moskva

Fenerbahçe 2 - 0 Chelsea

FC Schalke 2 - 3 Benfica

Having done it this way i'm not as sure i like it as much as the other way so may revert back for next turn.
