I did a similar thread ages ago called 'cabbytoodles List Of 90+ Rated Risers before' on my old forum account.

New season, new rating predictions. Whilst many leagues in Europe are still in infancy currently, this list is an estimate of who's hot and the players listed in my list will have a high chance of rising (70%). If they don't seem capable of rising, they won't make the list.

Re: List Of Potential 90+ Rated Risers.

Goalkeepers

Soares Julio Cesar,29 Inter Milan 95-->95/96 The Brazilian goalkeeper has now emerged into one of the top goalkeepers around after a string of stellar displays between the sticks over the last two season. First choice for club and country, the 29-year-old could sneak a rise to 96 if he keeps up his performances this season.

Rodríguez Diego Lopez,27 Villarreal 91-->91/92 Real Madrid reject now flourishing at the 'Submarines'. Spain's current 3rd choice goalkeeper, was one of the standout goalkeepers in the La Liga last season. Hard to predict a definite rise due to a lack of apperances for Spain but I won't be surprised if Diego Lopez rises to a 92, although that very much depends on how well Villarreal do this term.

Shay Given,32 Manchester City 91-->91/92 With Manchester City now flexing their financial muscle and capturing the imagination of many with a string of good signings, Shay Given could probably rise to a 92 if Manchester City does well. Easily one of the best goalkeepers in England at the moment, only playing at relegation-threatened Newcastle last campaign prevented him from gaining a higher rating.

Victor Valdes,27 Barcelona 91-->91/92 Not many are appreciative of his goalkeeping ability but playing week in week out will probably earn him a 92 if he does alright this season. Far from being a world class goalkeeper, the eccentric goalkeeper his now improved to a certain extent last season and another stable season might sneak him a 92.

Hugo Lloris,22 Lyon 90-->90/91 The highly rated French youngster is Lyon's undisputed first choice between the sticks. With the French powerhouse looking to reclaim their lost title this season, Lloris could earn a rise to 91. The only thing working against him is his lack of involvement with the 'Les Blues' at the moment.

Left-Backs

Ashley Cole,28 Chelsea 93-->93/94 I hate Cashley to the core to be honest. However, he has since carried on from where he left off last season. And to be fair, the English full-back is now doing well, and is the undisputed first choice for club and country. With Chelsea enjoying a flying start to the new season, Ashley Cole could well rise to 94, although a fair number of critics might start crying for one to be given to Patrice Evra.

Vieira Marcelo,21 Real Madrid 90-->90/91 The maruding full-back looked set to have cemented the problematic LB spot at Real madrid. Started against Deportivo a couple of days ago and looking set to remain as first choice for this season, a rise to 91 for the Brazilian youngster would be fair if Real Madrid and he himself were to do well. Marcelo has several Brazil caps to his name currently. Needs to work on the defensive aspects of his game though.

Right-Backs

Dani Alves,26 Barcelona 94-->94/95 The Brazilian full-back is famed for his lung-bursting surges down the right flank. Another impressive season could sneak him a rise to 95, although a mammoth task is expected from Alves. Failure to displace Maicon at RB for the Brazilian NT will probably leave him stuck at a 94 (a fair rating) for some time. Add to that some ugly aspects of his game, his crossing, his diving, if Daniel Alves to sneak a rise, perhaps Maicon should reach 96.

Centre-Backs

Bruno Alves,27 Porto 92-->92/93 The Portuguese centre-back is an intergral figure for Porto in the heart of the defense. Bruno Alves was strongly linked to AC Milan and Real Madrid before the season kicked off but a move did not materialize. Nonetheless, with Lucho Gonzalez now gone, Bruno Alves is favorites to rise to the highest rating afforded in the Bwin Liga if he keeps up his good form. Prone to the odd error, Bruno Alves is still an immense defender when on form.

Alessandro Gamberini,27 Fiorentina 91-->92 The Viola defender was tipped by many to attain a 92 following some impressive displays last season. He failed to get the predicted rise and I feel he has a strong case to get that 92 if can string together some good performances this season. Gamberini is involved with the national team on the odd occasion too. One of Fiorentina's best players alongisde Frey and Felipe Melo last season.

Serdar Tasci,22 Stuttgart 90-->91 The promising German defender has come in leap and bounds following a shaky start to last season. Now a regular for Stuttgart alongisde Delpierre, I'll expect a 50/50 rise for Tasci. A future German international, expect to see Tasci get a positional change to CB as he doesn't play at RB anymore.

Gerard Pique,22 Barcelona 90-->91/92 Former Manchester United player now flourishing back at the club who brough him up through their youth ranks. Easily one of the best young defenders in the world currently, Pique has 9 senior caps to his name too since making his debut for them on 11 February 2009. With Gabriel Milito not played for ages due to a serious injury and age catching up with Marquez, expect to see Pique strengthen his cause for the starting CB spot along Puyol at Barcelona.

Joleon Lescott,27 Manchester City 90-->91 Despite the odd blunder, Lescott is very much a solid defender. Equally adept at scoring goals as defending, the England international could earn a small rise to 91. England's 3rd choice CB at the moment, if Lescott does well at Manchester City, a rise to 91 wouldn't be out of the ordinary.

Dmytro Chygrynskiy,22 Barcelona 90-->90/91 The Ukraian defender has just moved to Barcelona on the back of an impressive season with Shakhtar, with them winning the UEFA Cup. Alongside Pique, Chygrynskiy is the future CB pairing of Barcelona. I don't expect him to play often yet, with Pique and Puyol likely to start with Marquez as their understudy. However, come the African Cup of Nations, with Yaya Toure and Seydou gone, Chygrynskiy could see more game time if Pique/Marquez plays in the DM spot.

Defensive Midfielders

Gnégnéri Yaya Toure,26 Barcelona 92-->93 One of the three Toure brothers, Yaya Toure should have gotten the 93 last time round. Impressed in the holding midfielder role as Barcelona romped to a historic treble, the Ivorian was equally at ease when called upon to play in central defense admist an injury crisis at Barcelona. A more than decent defensive midfielder, Yaya should get his deserved rise.

Carvalho Felipe Melo,26 Juventus 91-->92 The Brazilian holding midfielder is known for his ability to dictate the pace of a game. Having seen his stock risen sharply after a series of fine performances for the Viola, Melo has now grown to be the first choice defensive midfielder for the Selecao. If he snags a first team spot at the impressive looking Juventus, a rise to 92 is very well within his means.

Lass Diarra,24 Real Madrid 91-->92 Despite the arrival of Xabi Alonso, I still strongly feel that Lass Diarra will be given a chance to shine this season, whether as a lone holding midfielder role or playing alongside Alonso. The potential is in Lass Diarra to make a name for himself, and many have tipped him to be Makelele's successor for the Les Blues on the international stage. A rise to 92 for Lass, me thinks.

Re: List Of Potential 90+ Rated Risers.

Lloris is actually involved with the National team and is perhaps more likely to get in ahead of Mandanda as he won best keeper of the league last season and is growing game by game. Also shouldn't Diego Lopez already be higher than 91? Anyone watch Villareal regularly would know he is better than Valdes and close to Frey's level

And btw it's a pretty decent thread:)
