Benno77 248
Re: Gold Championship 69 Match Reports/News/Transfers Thread NEW MAN IN FRANCE New Man at Marseille is looking forward to a good challenge ahead. The French league is very unpredictable, there are some strong squads all capable of challenging for the title, but Marseille are ready to give anyone a run for their money. Davey has already added 3 new faces: STENDARDO, Guglielmo - CB BROZEK, Pawel - Forward DUBARBIER, Sebastián Winger But taking over at Marseille, manager Davey has added a few of the stars to the transfer list in a quest to add a little more strength in depth: LUCHO GONZALEZ, Oscar CM (93) looking for a young, below 25, CM 90/91/92 replacement plus another young 89 plus player. KONE, Bakari For (90) looking for two young 87 plus players, one striker other anywhere. TAIWO, Taye LB (89) looking for another young 88+ CB / CM or AM.

The new man wasted no time in laying down his ambitions for the new season: 'I want to win the league and the SMFA Champs Cup as my main objectives while doing well in the domestic cups also. The league and Europe are the priorty for a club of this size!' The only transfer news so far is that Javier MASCHERANO will be joining the club from Liverpool later on today. It is believed the club will play to their strengths this season and with Cambiasso, Sneidjer and Mascherano down the middle with Lucio, Cordabo, Eto and Milito also the team will be tough to break down this season while width will be provided by powerful RB Maicon and a new LB who inter are in the process of trying to sign... GeorgeECFC 4,430
Re: Gold Championship 69 Match Reports/News/Transfers Thread Time for change at Lecce After years of moving up and down the Italian League, Lecce were yet again relegated last season and the time for change has now come. With a 36,285 capacity ground, the funds are available, now it's all down to the management and players. The majority of the squad looks likely to move on with a youthful side being favoured, shown by the new additions to the squad. The likes of Belleri and Giacomazzi will soon move on, to be replaced by the likes of Terranova and Marilungo who will now get their chance to shine. Transfers In: 8 players have arrived at the Via Del Mare so far, with a lot more expected to come before Saturday's opener against Piacenza. The signings aren't big names that are expected to lead Lecce to comfortable promotion and a quick road back to Serie Á, this is a long term project that is seeing promising talent arrive at the club, so that they will be ready for the top in a few years time. Peter Gulacsi Stefanos Kotsolis Emmanuel Mbola Dean Moxey Anders Randrup Jozsef Varga Armend Alimi Eliran Atar Kotsolis, at the age of 30, is the only player over 23 to have joined Lecce so far. The AC Omonia keeper was brought in for £4 million and will be the 1st choice ahead of fellow signing Gulacsi, who left Liverpool for more first team chances, at a price of £300k. Mbola needs no introduction as most people are fully aware of the 16 year old by now, the Pyunik star and Zambian international was attracting interest from a number of clubs but settled for a £2.3 million move to Lecce. Mbola will be in the youth squad for the start of the year though, as Dean Moxey joined from Derby for a bargain £300k and he is the preferred choice of the 2. Moxey has been a regular at Derby since joining from Exeter in the summer and is looking at a possible +10 increase. And a 3rd full back joined in Anders Randrup - for £6 million with Djamel Mesbah moving to Brondby in exchange. Randrup is one of the most promising Danish youngsters around and Lecce have big plans for him, as shown by the high price. Varga joins for £1.5 million from Debreceni VSC and was another youngster attracting interest from elsewhere, and he'll be looking to create a partnership with Alimi who joined from Macedonian side FK Milano. And finally - for today anyway - Israel's Eliran Atar signed for £450k with Daniele Corvia moving to Bnei Yehuda in exchange. Transfer Out: Guglielmo Stendardo Stendardo is the first of many to leave Lecce, as he moved to Marseille for £8 million. At 28, Stendardo still has the potential to improve and will be looking to do that at the French side. Accepted Deals: Star player Ferreira Edinho is to join Spartak Moscow tomorrow for a fee of £13 million after he decided he needed to move on. His exit will obviously leave a gap in the midfield but Lecce have confirmed that all of the cash from his sale will be used to strengthen the rest of the squad. Moving in looks set to be Racing Genk's 18 year old Kevin De Bruyne for £500k. A late bid was made by Lecce to beat Karlsruher SC to his signature, and all that awaits now is a medical which should be completed tomorrow afternoon. Another 10 players at least are expected to join tomorrow. International News: Holland have named their squad of 30 for their World Cup Qualifiers, with a surprise inclusion for Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul. The full squad is: Edwin Van Der Sar Maarten Stekelenburg Tim Krul Tim De Cler Wilfred Bouma Edson Braafheid Jam Kromkamp Mario Melchiot John Heitinga Joris Mathijsen Kew Jaliens Khalid Boulahrouz Dirk Marcellis Andre Ooijer Urby Emanuelson Giovanni Van Bronckhorst Wesley Sneijder Mark Van Bommel Nigel De Jong Demy De Zeeuw Rafael Van Der Vaart Clarence Seedorf Ibrahim Afellay Arjen Robben Ryan Babel Robin Van Persie Dirk Kuyt Ruud Van Nistelrooy Klaas-Jan Huntelaar Danny Koevermans Holland have been drawn into Group 7 along with Bolivia, Belarus, Morocco and Switzerland. craigjohnson
Dan Walmsley 2,261
Re: Gold Championship 69 Match Reports/News/Transfers Thread Inter Milan The Nerazzurri have completed the signing of Javier MASCHERANO from Liverpool earlier today. The 25 year old Defensive Midfielder joins for a fee of Patrick Veira, Javier Zanetti and £10million a deal which has delighted manager Title Aspirations: 'It is a very good deal for the club as we look to reduce the average age of the squad. Veira and Zanetti are both getting on although they are both top class players we felt the deal to bring Mascherano here was in the best interests of the club in the long term which is something we are building towards.' Argy Duo back together? Meanwhile, Inter also announce they have agreed terms with Manchester City to sign Mascherano's former Corinthians and current Argentina team-mate Carlos TEVEZ. The deal is believed to also pave the way for Diego MILITO to move to fierce rivals Juventus the next day as he will be deemed surplus to requirements. In small news, third choice keeper Paolo OLANDONI has moved to Ayr United in a £1million deal. The 37 year old had been told to expect reserve team football this season and decided on a final career move to Scotland... JakeMCFC

The 24 year old CB becomes the second arrival under manager Title Aspirations and also the second from the English side after a fee of £4million and Ivan Cordabo was agreed. Skrtel - Solid CB follows Mascherano to Italy... The club also announces the imminent arrival of Emiliano MORETTI from Genoa. The 28 year old will solve the lack of LB options following the departure of Maxwell earlier on in pre-season to Barcelona. The deal is the first of two between the clubs which also sees Italian starlet Salvatore BOCHETTI join the next day for Materazzi and cash. Finally, it is expected that Walter SAMUEL will leave the club in the next few days with Inter well-stocked in the CB area with Lucio, Skrtel, Chivu and Bochetti expected to be preferred. The 32 year old can be used to land a new CM, LB or CF...

IlDuce 135
Re: Gold Championship 69 Match Reports/News/Transfers Thread AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT... Not really, I'm only kidding. A wave from the current Juventus manager to all the forumers. Congrats to the Inter Milan manager as he's done a fine job making big changes in his team, they look the team to beat in Serie A. Slow transfer news from Juventus, as a relatively small squad and little funds have led the Old Lady to be rather quiet. The big splash was the soon to be finalized acquisition of Yohann Gourcuff, exchanged for fellow starlet Sebastian Giovinco and Tiago. Long time midfielder Hasan Salihamidzic is poised to move on Boca Juniors, hopefully funding a move for defensive depth. Juventus are hopeful of bringing in Antonio Lopez, but are listening to any clubs looking to make a cash sale on a versatile defender 90+. A striker may be targeted in the next few days to bulk up the attack, with limited options being looked at for another attacking midfielder, perhaps pushing talisman Alex Del Piero up the line. Juventus are expecting a healthy boost to current players such as Felipe Melo, Yohann Gourcuff, and perhaps even Momo Sissoko and Claudio Marchisio, easing the pressure of a fairly quiet transfer window. A special shout-out to all the ridiculous transfer bids I've received during the first few days. It seems Juve cannot make a bid without a counter-negotiation for Marchisio, Caceres, or Giovinco. Good Luck to all Managers. p.s. I am still looking for a defender who can play any two positions (CB/RB/LB/Def) who would be available for either a cash bid or perhaps an even exchange with Christian Poulsen (91 rated DM). I know he's not the most desired players, but I'm sure a midfielder of his rating can help someone out moreso than a defender. I am also willing to spend upwards of $15 million for said defender. thomasp 43
Re: Gold Championship 69 Match Reports/News/Transfers Thread The English Connection Zenit St Petersburg have made another signing from the English Premier League, to strengthen their squad. The signing this time comes from Bolton Wanderes, Johan Elmander, the Swedish forward. Johan Elmander joined Zenit St Petersburg for a fee of 3 million pounds, with Mateja Kezman going the other way to make his return to the premiership. Elmander will partner Emile Heskey up front this season for Zenit. Fatih Tekke is the 3rd choice striker at Zenit, but Pearson says 1 isnt enough, he needs another back up striker (88) to give stabillity to his squad. With the signings for Zenit being strong, is there a Russian Treble along the horizon? Zenit Signings - (Major) Emile Heskey - From Aston Villa - 6 Million. Phillip Degen - From Liverpool - 4.7 Million. Johan Elmander - From Bolton - 3 Million + Mateja Kezman. Next Game - Zenit St Petersburg Vs Dynamo Kiev. GeorgeECFC 4,430
Re: Gold Championship 69 Match Reports/News/Transfers Thread Rooney joins Lecce! Not Wayne, but Luke Rooney joined Lecce yesterday afternoon for a fee of £450k as the Italian side beat Boca Juniors, Shrewsbury and LB Chateauroux to the signing of the 18 year old. Rooney is highly rated at Gillingham and has come off the bench twice so far for them, scoring once. Added into the youth squad for now, Lecce hope that Rooney will be pushing for a first team place next season. Joining him in the youth setup will be Peter Takacs and Miguel Dachelet. Takacs arrives from Diósgyőri VTK for £650k, having started all 7 games so far this season. Dachelet meanwhile, joined from Belgian side Zulte Waregem for the slightly lower price of £400k. 3 other players also signed yesterday, with Lecce completing a deal for Argentinian Dario Figueroa. Able to play either on the wing or in an attacking midfield role, Figueroa joined from Caracas FC for £5.3 million. Valentin Galev, Lokomotiv Sofia's starting goalkeeper was picked up for a bargain £225k, whilst Romanian Mihai Roman joined from FC Brasov for £2.3 million despite interest from TuS Koblenz. With Figueroa arriving at Lecce, it meant the end for Guillermo Giacomazzi who joined the retirement home that is Bolton Wanderers. The fee for the 31 year old was believed to be around £6 million. After a deal was stopped by Spartak Moscow's chairman yesterday for Edinho, the 26 year old is today hoping to join Fluminese instead after a £12 million deal was agreed between the sides. And finally, Armend Alimi who joined on Tuesday has had a rise from 78 to 82. Also, might be looking to start either a youth or U23 cup soon, if anybody is interested If there is interest, will sort something out tomorrow or Sunday - seeing as injuries/suspension doesn't affect friendlies then as long as you have 11 that fit into a formation it should be fine. Rating limit as well maybe..
