SMFA Champions Cup Matchday 3- Chelsea 3 Marseille 2

After picking up only 1 point from there first 2 league games victory was imperative to maintain a chance of getting through the group stages and Chelsea did that in a thrilling game edging it with a late late winner from Anelka after Marseille had bravely battled back from behind to have looked to have earned them a draw but Anelka had other ideas. The other Chelsea goals were scored by Juliano Beletti on a rare start for the Brazilian.

The win moves Chelsea up to 2nd in the group after 3 games but have both Marseille and Santos breathing down there necks and qualification is still going to be difficult.

League Matchday 10 Burnley 0 Chelsea 2

Chelsea done the damange in the first half with goals from Alex and Young talent Nemanja Matic and comfotably saw out the rest of the game against the Premier League newcomers.

Chelsea remain 2nd in the table with 23points from 10games 2behind leaders Arsenal and 2 in front of man Utd, the top 3 having opened up a bit of a gap at the top and a 3way title fight looks likely but Pauley is said to be delighted with his team currently who are playing with a freedom and creativity which would give any side problems as Chelsea continue to score plenty of goals and enetertain with attacking football.

Next up for Chelsea is Birmingham at home

Re: Gold Championship 69 Match Reports/News/Transfers Thread

Things are nice and tight at the top of Ligue 1 with 10 games gone.

Three teams are neck and neck - Monaco, Le Mans & my Lille team are within a point of each other and have Grenoble and PSG breathing down their necks.

None of the teams seem to be able to quite get a good stretch of wins under their belt in order to pull away from the others.

At the moment though, it appears that Monaco have the strongest team and are scoring the goals that could keep them at the top. Coutadeur being the standout player in that team.

Le Mans are being propelled by one man it seems - Thorstein Helstad, with 8 goals in 8 games.

No one player is standing out at Lille, although Frau is top scorer just like RL. Our good start seems to be due to a solid defence.

Grenoble also have a powerful frontline and while PSG have not had the greatest start, with a rebuilt squad they cannot be underestimated.

Hopefully it'll be a close run thing all the way.

With Lille winning of course :P

Inter continued their fine form as they recorded 3 wins out of 3. A 2-1 win away at Livorno was followed by Dan Walmsley's biggest win at Inter with a 8-0 trashing of New England Revolution in the SMFA Champs Cup group. Finally, another league win with Catania coming to the Giuseppe Meazza and going home with 0 points as Inter ran out 2-0 winners!

A 3-2 win away from home against a solid Sampdoria pushed Inter into joint 2nd place in the league just 2 points behind shock leaders Catania. The poor start to the season looks well and truly behind the team...

However, Inter were last night shocked by Bari in the Italian Shield Quarter's as the away side won 2-1 to progress into the semi's!

Chelsea Update

A stuttering performance in the league but progress in the Shield

League Matchday 11- Chelsea 3 Birmingham 3

Chelsea rescued a point against a Birmingham side who showed no fear in coming to the Bridge and put on a great performance which on another day could have left Chelsea with nothing. Things appeared to be going to plan when Captain John Terry put Chelsea a goal up within 3mins, however Birmingham did not follow the script and shocked the Stamford Bridge Faithful by racing into a 3-1 lead with only 50mins gone with goals from larsson and 2 from lee Carsley. Chelsea battled back to rescue a point with strikes from Anelka and Kalou but Pauley is said to be very dissapointed as Chelsea slip 4points behind Arsenal.

English Shield Q/F- Blackpool 1 Chelsea 3

Chelsea eased through to the semi-finals and a date with Aston Villa with a comfotable victory at Bloomfield Road. Another goal from a revitalised Juliano Beletti set Chelsea on there way and Malouda and negredo ensured progressionwith 2nd half strikes in a game Chelsea were always comfotable in.

"I was disapointed with the draw against Birmingham, but credit to the Birmingham players and manager who put on a great display, it puts an end to our great winning run but hopefully this is just a blip and we can get back to winning ways in the big London derby against a very good Tottenham team"

In transfer News pauley has scoured the Argentine market a particular favourite of the managers to bring in 2 exciting youth prospects. Bertoglio an AM arrives from Colon for 2.1m whilst young River Plate Sensation Daniel Villuba arrives for a measley 200k. Pauley has also secured the signing of Turkish defender Ceyhan Gulselam the 80rtd CB who Pauley expects to hit 85 in the next rating changes will be good cover and at worst a good Money Spinner. All 3 players are avaliable for loan if anybody is interested.

Chelsea havea particuarly tough set of fixtures with the next 7games against Spurs, Villa, Fiorentina, Man City, Everton, Villa (again) and Liverpool in a series of fixtures which could shape Chelsea's season.

Re: Gold Championship 69 Match Reports/News/Transfers Thread

2 losses in a row for Barnsley means they drop from first after a run of wins. pretty ridiculous. Just like the 10 week injury and he will come back on xmas day, 1 month before the end of the season.. Keep the unrealistic injuries coming. Tomasoc banging the goals in though. 13 games, 12 goals, 7 assists, 6 mom's and avg of 8.38.

Chelsea Update:

Crash out of Europe but march on in the league:

SMFA Champions Cup-Fixture 6- Marseille 3 Chelsea 3

Chelsea got off to the worst possible start going 2-0 down inside 20mins as Marseille threatend to run riot, however Chelsea fought back and goals from Negredo and Zhirkov pulled things level, brandao restored marseilles lead before Captain John Terry made the game level with 20mins to go. League Matchday 24- Stoke City 0 Chelsea 1

A hard fought match which was settled by a late 88th minute winner from Spanish starlet fernando Torres, thye result was somewhat harsh on a great display from a Stoke team who more than matched there illustrious counterparts.

The win takes Chelsea 7 points clear at the top of the Premiership after a superb run of victories continued as Chelsea put there foot down on the gas and surprise losses for both Arsenal and Man Utd brought even more joy to the men from Stamford Bridge.

" I am very disappointed to exit the Champions League but the boys gave it everyhting and I cannot fault the effort and commitment and the fans can be rest ssured next season we will do much better, we still have much to play for the English Cup is secured and the priority is continue our good form in the premiership and look to kick on. We have a nice gap but we cannot become complacent as there is stoll well over a third of the seaon to go and we need to kick on to try and cement our place at the summit of the Premiership"

Chelsea Update:

Chelsea in fine fettle as cruch week on its way in title race

League Matchday 25- Chelsea 3 Wigan 1

English Cup- Round 2- Bolton 0 Chelsea 2

A 2nd string Chelsea team progressed to round 3 winning a tricky away tie at Bolton. To be truthful Chelsea performed welll throughout and dominated proceedings with Zhirkov and Kalou getting the goals that earns Chelsea a home tie against Crystal Palace in the 3rd round with all the big hitters progressing from the 2nd round.

It is a mssive week for Chelsea coming up as they face both of there nearest challengers in the league with a trip to Old Trafford and then a home game against Arsenal.

"No doubt this is a crunch week, but we could not be going into these games in better form. Confidence is high and we have the knowledge having alrady beaten both United and Arsenal this season that if we play to our maximum we are more than capable of pulling off some good results. There is no doubting the problems that both teams p[osess as they have a wealth of talent but I am confident in my team and it is vital we maintain the gap at the top as these games could prove vital to the destination of the title. Win both games and we will have 1 hand on the trophy but lose both games and the race is blown wide open"

Chelsea Update:

Chelsea demolish nearest rivals as they pull away from the rest:

League Matchday 26- Man United 0 Chelsea 5 :)

Chelsea travelled to Old Trafford knowing this was a massive test of there title credentials agiant the current champions and Chelsea did not disappoint as they tore man Utd apart and gave them the kind of pasting that Old Trafford fans had not seen in years. elsea produced a lesson in posession football and how best to use it completely overruning United and goals from Lampard, Torres (2), Malouda and babel capped off one of the best displays Chelsea fans have seen in years.

League matchday 27- Chelsea 3 Arsenal 1

Chelsea went into this game 7points clear of Arsenal knowing defeat would blow the title race back open whereas a win would establish a lead of immense proportions at this stage of the season. It was a closer game than the scoreline reflects as both sides created numerous chances but it was Chelsea's better composure in front of goal that proved vital as they aced into an early 2-0 lead through aace from Romaric, Arshavin plled one back 10mins from time but Anelka settled the game scoring against his old club to stretch chelsea's lead to 10points at the top of the PL.

"I am absolutely delighted we have shown our worth, we are on a run of 20games unbeaten in all competitions and the team is playing superbly. Confidencelevels are sjy high the team spirit is immense and we have overcome every obstacle in our path. I will make sure we do not get complacent but the boys have been magnificent and hopefully we can continue th run and hopefully secure the PL title.

English C Round 3- chelsea 5 Crystal Palace 1

Chelsea romped into round four and an away trip to leeds United with a comprehensive thrashing of the SE London Palace. Goals from Kalou, Salvio, Negredo and 2 for Deco. The domestic treble still remains very much on although there is a long way to go yet.
