FC Schalke 04 absolutely thrashed Arminia Bielfeld 5 goals to 1. It seemed FC Schalke 04 were the stronger side on the day. Also it's fair to say that FC Schalke 04 were much stronger on paper also since Arminia Bielfeld didn't have a manager not much was excpected by there fan's I think. Arminia Bielfeld only 18 player's which have made matter's worse. This is what the FC Schalke 04 manager Marios Tofaris had to say after the match "I am extremly pleased with the way the team played they didn't get complacent I also thought we were the more stronger side we also dominated possession, we had olur chance's and we took them. I'm extremly pleased with Thefoanis Gekas performance as he scored 2 goal's in 2 minute's. I also think Gekas played very well. I also felt we could have come away with a bigger scoreline but i'm pleased with 5-1. Also we were away from home which I think made tougher for us but we worked well as a team and got the win."

FC Sochaux 1 - 2 Theofanis Gekas 87'

FC Schalke 04 beat FC Sochaux 2-1 to remain 2nd in the Champions Cup Group H. The first goal in the match came early on in the 18th as Gabriel Milito recieved the ball on the right and then he skiped past the inside of his and curled a 25 yard shot in the goal. The next chance fell to Levan Kobiashvili of FC Sochaux who get's clean through with only the goalkeeper to beat but he hit's the outside of the post.

Match Comment's At Half-time

Well as the first half come's to a close it's FC Schalke 04 who have the lead and possibly look comfortable. FC Sochaux I don't have trouble FC Schalke 04 and if they want to win this game I think they got to get the ball up to there front men cause we know how good they are and let them cause havoc to the FC Schalke 04 defence. But in saying that I think FC Sochaux midfielder's need to push up and help there attacker's. As for FC Schalke 04 I think they have to hold strong and if they get a chance to score another then they've got to take cause if they do then I think it'll wrap up the game. Thank you and now we return back to the action.

The second-half begin's and Theofanis Gekas try's a delicate chip but it crushes of the bar. Matias Cahais run's onto a through ball and smashes into the top hand corner and score's. Theofanis Gekas thundered in a spectaculative overhead kick and scores great athleticism. The final whistle goes and FC Schalke win 2-1.

Valencia update

Since becoming the new manager of Spanish giants Valencia, Dai Winston has won three games and lost two so far. A decent start, especially as the players were very tired and disheartened at the departure of former manager Dan Payne. The players performances suffered in the first two games of Winston's reign as Valencia suffered two heavy defeats and Dai was starting to think that it was going to be a long and hard season. The team have now settled themselves and look a strong outfit, with key players getting back to full fitness.

Recent results:

172_1203469115.gifVALENCIA 1 - 4 Atl. Madrid139_1195931882.gif

The worst possible start as a strong Atl. Madrid ripped a make-shift Valencia team apart. Marek Kulic netted the only goal for Winston's men.

85_1193758928.gifWest Ham 5 - 1 VALENCIA172_1203469115.gif

Winston's first SMFA Cup game as Valencia manager was a disaster. With having to play a team full of youth players, with the whole of the first team squad being "not match fit", was the downfall.

147_1192009783.gifElche 0 - 2 VALENCIA172_1203469115.gif

Valencia pick up their first win under their new Welsh manager against a weak Elche team. The boost of having some top players back was the difference and a sign that not all was lost. A goal in either half from Argentine supremo Lionel Messi earned thw in.

172_1203469115.gifVALENCIA 12 - 1 Almeria137_1206412606.gif

Winston was able to field a strong team in this cup quarter final. The result speaks for itself. Goals from David Silva(3), Marek Kulic(3), Lionel Messi(2), Stephen Ireland(2), Francesco Tavano and Cesc Fabregas gave Valencia an emphatic win.

172_1203469115.gifVALENCIA 4 - 1 Osasuna157_1203581129.gif

Another great win for Winston's team as they convincingly pick up another three points. Bastian Schweinsteiger, Samuel Eto'o, Alberto Paloschi and Fabio Quagliarella all managed to get on the scoresheet.

FC Schalke 04 Fast And Ferocious

FC Schalke 04 dominated a game which was ecxcpected to be very close but it seemed Hamburger SV were no match for FC Schalke 04. FC Schalke 04 struck very early on in the game by going 1 nil up in just 15 minute's by Hamit Altintop who controlled a superbly a long ball which got played over the defence and volleyed it past the keeper. Hamit Altintop struck again in the 34th minute to make it 2 nil to FC Schalke 04 as a scramble in the box left Hamit Altintop to scramble it over the line. Hamburger SV get one back but it surly has to be offside but the flaged stayed down and Diego Klimowicz run's through and take's full advantage of the ddubious decision. As the half-time whistle goes it's FC Schalke 04 who have the one goal lead. We now return to the second half. 4 minute's into the second-half and Santos Marcelihno miss hit's his shot but it squirm's under the keeper's hand's and FC Schalke 04 have a 3-1 lead. Santos Marcelihno claim's his second goal of the game and make's it 4-1 to FC Schalke 04 as he head's it powerfully past the keeper. A spectacular chip by the wonderkid Ivan Rakitic get's fumbled by the keeper but it still goes in and FC Schalke 04 are 5-1 up. The final whistle goes and FC Schalke 04 have absolutely hammered Hamburger SV 5-1.

Re: Gold Championship 3!!!

Valencia only managed to pick up a point against Real Murcia tonight which was disappointing....

Currently lie in 8th in La Liga, looking to storm into the top 4 by the end of the season....

Both Messi and Eto'o are available for P/E if the deal meets my required criteria....

Valencia reserves book Shield final place

272_front_small.gifValencia 3 - 0 Barcelona247_front_small.gif

Valencia manager Dai Winston was not very optimistic going into a game which saw his team face a Barcelona side managed by one of the best up and coming managers around in Mr Nice Guy. Winston had every intent on playing a weak team as the climbing the league is very much the priority this season. The teams were quite un matched in different positions but the Welshman put a lot of faith in his "second team" as he called it.

Valencia and Winston owe Porto manager Louis Mattis a great deal of thanks as it was one of his on loan players that scored the opening goal. Michael Bradley only joined yesterday on loan for the rest of the season and within 10 minutes of his debut he gave Valencia the lead. He recieved the ball on the edge of the box and let fly with a rocket of a shot which gave Victor Valdes, in the Barca goal, no chance at all. Valencia took that 1-0 lead into half time.

8428_1209755861.jpg

( USA international Michael Bradley's debut goal on 10 minutes gave Valencia a 1-0 half time lead )

Valencia could not have hoped for a better start to the second half, as they took a 2-0 lead when central defender Pedros David Navarro found the net somehow following a scramble in the Barca six yard area.

Barcelona were in no way out classed, they gave as good as they got, creating numerous chances to get back into the game, but a combination of good goal keeping from Valencia number one Jose Reina, and some, on times, poor finishing from the Barca front men meant that they were not going to get back into the game. Valencia on the other hand were making a habit of hitting the target whenever they got the chance.

The victory was sealed for Winston and his team with 25 minutes of the game to go, when a very clever through ball found the well timed run of, on loan from Porto, Marek Kulic who fired a shot which flew in off the upright.

Re: Gold Championship 3!!!

Toggs takes over at American wonderteam Independiente. He's happy with the current state of the club with players such as Berg, Jones & Almunia. 35 87+ players also isn't too bad.

Toggs'es first game in charge couldnt of came much harder, The 1/4's in the SMFA CHamps Cup against a good Villareal side managed by Gazza. Goals from Maxi Perriera & Marcus Berg either side of the half put the match outof prospective and Independente could seal their first SMFA Champs Cup if they can get past Real Madrid to play either Kobenhaven or Palermo in the final.
