Dan D 10
Re: The Fadedwolfz Guide to SM Thank you for this great guide. I have a couple of questions: 1. When the best players are not yet fully recovered after the last match is it better to keep using them or to use lower rated replacements? 2. When for various reasons we can't cover all positions with good players is it better to use lower rated players specialised on those positions or to use the best available players even if some of them are slightly out of position? Thank you in advance

Thank you in advance for question 1: I reccomend u not to use players with lower than 90% fitness. I'm not sure about the exact calculations (have to check), but for players below 80 or 70% fitness, every 10% difference is equivalent of a 5 rating drop. So, if u have any player with less than 90% fitness, try to use lower rated replacements. for question 2: i don't really get ur question. Could u give me the exact positions and where u play them? Just do not use players that are totally off their main positions. For example Messi is an F/AM, but don't play him in midfield. But for gerrard that is an AM/CM, u can play him anywhere in midfield, even on the wings. cheers
Dan D 10
Re: The Fadedwolfz Guide to SM Thank you for your answers. Here is the clarification you asked me for: Most of the times when my best CF or LB are not fully fit I use good AM players as CF and good LM players as LB. Should I rather use genuine lower rated CF and LB instead? (from your answer I already know I'm doing something wrong lol) Sorry for bugging you but I have another question many people might be interested to know the answer: What is the best way to use in-game instructions, if we should use them at all? Cheers
Matthew Corin 10
Re: The Fadedwolfz Guide to SM Lol you are a very busy person... De Rossi or David Silva? And I am buying silva for my wing, will he stay at that position?

Not sure about silva's position though, u could ask BenReado who watched valencia alot. From what i can infer, i reckon he is playing more as an AM, with mata on the left wing and pablo on the right. cheers

Use a lower rated F or CF and LB or perhaps CB. and don't use all the in-game instructions, i think u can read the guide again the get a better picture. cheers

As for[*]In-game instructions, i must admit that i don't really know the importance of it, and the most u could do would be either to change ur formation to a more attacking one (if you're losing, vice versa if you're winning), or taking one player off for another in an identical position. casillas albiol/ramos - pepe/vidic - chiellini gago/diarra ronaldo - fabregas - alonso - kaka benzema - adebayor/fabiano playmaker - fabregas/kaka/ronaldo this is what i would suggest, but with your squad, i doubt u even need my help

almigthy_wiggles 677
Re: The Fadedwolfz Guide to SM Great guide, however i disagree with one thing You say at the start to cut the squad down to about 22 good players Don't you think this is a bit low for a first time player I would have said about 28-30 would be better as injuries and suspension could easily knock a small squad like that down to below 18, and with cup matches..... mkitlinski 10
Re: The Fadedwolfz Guide to SM excellent guide. would like to ask you about your belief that 3 in the back is the way to go. i just finished my first season with a bunch of newcomers, and most of us were using 3-5-2's and 3-4-1-2's in the beginning with much success. but i changed to a 4-3-3 with wingers, and someone else began using a 4-4-2 diamond. we both attacked down the flanks and had our wide players run forward. pretty soon, the teams with fullbacks and wingers started killing the teams with three man backs, and everyone had to stop using 3 man backs against managed sides. do you think we gave up on this tactic too soon? it was not even half a season's of evidence. but i'm hesitant to go with any formation that has three in the back b/c i feel it will get exploited thusly. what has your experience been, and how have you countered this? thanks for your feedback, and the excellent thread. And possession in turn brings u goals. i have had a lot of successes using 3-5-2, and i think the critical player is probably the DM that will protect ur defence. Admittedly, this formation won't work all the time, like how some of my teams are dying for no apparent reason If it can't work, reverting to a basic 4-4-2 would perhaps be ideal as well. but the general rule is that if it isn't broken, don't change it. If u have been using 4-3-3 with large success, continue with it. cheers
