Neil Taylor is a great prospect for the future. At only 20 years old, he's been a regular at Wrexham since he was 18. He's been linked to join many championship clubs including Swansea City. If a deal happens then he would be in for a rise.

Please Discuss :)

Re: Neil Taylor - Future Welsh Star

Time for an update. He's been Wrexham's star man this season, by quiet away.

He's once again attracted interest from Swansea, who are looking to sign him on the cheap and as a Swansea fan i hope they sign him.

He's been called up to the Welsh national team for the first team in his career, at the age of 21 as they face Croatia today. He's on the bench, along with a host of youngstars, including Bristol City's Christian Ribiero & Reading's Hal Robson Kanu.

Re: Neil Taylor - Future Welsh Star

Brought on with half an hour remaining to make his Welsh debut at left-back. A good achievement, for a player with an SM rating of just 68.

Managed to find out that he's out of contact at the end of the season aswell, meaning plenty of club will be in for him. A fee will still have to be paid though because of his age.

Re: Neil Taylor - Future Welsh Star

good thread and thanks for the info' date=' I'll keep an eye for him from now on...[/quote']

Don't expect a massive rise, even with a Welsh cap as he's playing non-league football. But if he gets a move, to a higher level of football he could well be in for a rise.

Played very well, that last half hour he was all over the pitch. He wanted to prove that he is for Welsh squad. He is shooting corners pretty good.

From that what I saw from him he is class for club like Hull city or something like that...:)

Yeh he did really want to prove himself and was very energetic.

It's suprising that he's playing in the conference (The 5th division in England) where he'll earn less than 1k a week. Definatly a player Swansea should try and sign before a bigger team brings him in.

He should be leaving Wrexham in the summer, i hope so anyway for his sake.

Re: Neil Taylor - Future Welsh Star

does.not.take.much.

He'll struggle in the Championship big time.

He wouldn't play regularly. But he would do in a season or so's time at a club like Swansea.

It doesn't take much to become Wrexham's star man, but it does at the age of 21. And to be a consistant performer from the age of 19 or so. It's clear this boy has talent.

Re: Neil Taylor - Future Welsh Star

Certainty to join Swansea now

Set to join for 40k on a 3 year deal, similar to the Donnely signing. He's needed now as we only have one left back after letting Bessone & Painter leave. But i think Sousa & Jenkins wants to add some youth to the team, and use J.Richards, Taylor, Donnely & K.Morgan quiet frequently in the first team.

Joined Swansea: Link.

Joins for the expected 40k on a 3 year deal. Should get some first team football, and he should rise to 75 with the odd game of football.

Re: Neil Taylor - Future Welsh Star

Featuring frequently in Swansea's Pre-Season.

At the moment he's the back up left-back, and if Gary Monk, Ashley Williams or Alan Tate pick up any suspensions he should get first team football with the team as i see it.

Easily a +9'r at the moment as i can see it.

Re: Neil Taylor - Future Welsh Star

Made his Swansea debut in Swansea's 2-0 defeat to Norwich, being brought on at half time for Albert Serran.

He then made his full Swansea debut tonight against Tranmere, playing 87 minutes before Alan Tate was given a late run out.

132 minutes now in the last few days for Swansea, and he should rise to 75 at the minimum regardless of future appearances as that does seem to be the way of things with low 70's/60's.

Re: Neil Taylor - Future Welsh Star

Watched him in training today, and it looks like he's going to start from what i saw with a back four of:

Tate Williams Monk © Taylor

He's got competition with Serran for first team action with Angel Rangel injured untill the end of September.

Re: Neil Taylor - Future Welsh Star

The back four as as expected and Taylor played 90 minutes, despite inexperience he looked superb today. Despite his height he beat the likes of Chris Iwelumo & Clark Carlisle in the air and he really was a quality full-back. I was originally pesimistic but he could be in for quite a big rise now, anyway he's going to be in the Wales U21 side that plays Hungary in there group, a win and they only need a draw in Rome to reach the U21 Euro's!!!

Re: Respuesta: Neil Taylor - Future Welsh Star

How much will Neil taylor rise?

to 77+. Anyway 90 minutes today after two 90 minutes for the Wales U21's whilst on the international break against Hungary & Italy.

Should play the 90 minutes on Tuesday against Coventry, it'll be 50/50 for Rangel to return against Shorpe. When he gets back to full fitness Taylor will have to settle for the odd game of the bench.

Re: Neil Taylor - Future Welsh Star

Played 90 minutes again tonight, played very well and got a great reception from the home fans.

In the programme Alan Curtis called him the new Ashley Cole, for his footballing ability not the fact that at the age of 21 his girlfriend is five months pregnant :P

Anyway delighted with the win, and a good performance from Neil Taylor.

Swansea fans on the 606 raving about him. He's more then just a riser, he's quality. Unlike Jazz Richards, Taylor will push for a starting place when Rangel returns from injury, he's been our best defender recentley and i can't see him getting dropped.
