Re: Official Arsenal Thread

You think we will go for a late bid on Julio Cesar (Be it a loan or perm signing)?

He surely needs a move to keep his place in the national team for the world cup, and no team been linked to him for some time.

Its not a key signing we need, but I really hope Wenger does it

A team like arsenal should NEVER NEVER NEVER be looking for loans.

Re: Official Arsenal Thread

I really can't understand how Arsenal have only signed Sanogo and Flamini. Does the concept of "strengthening the team" mean nothing to Wenger?

He says he's waiting on "special players" but he should know that special players are created from average players. Look at Henry, he was just an average player when he arrived at Arsenal. Look at Bale! He was gonna be shipped out a few years ago, labeled as a flop and is now about to become the most expensive player of all time.

Wenger needs to learn to take risks! He can't sit around and expect the special ones to come to him, he has to either make them himself or spend money on the ones who are special already

So you would rather use Szczesny than loan a much better goal keeper should we not buy him? It will improve us, and will most likely make Szczesny improve too as he will need to fight for his spot for a change

I understand where you coming from, but if the player improves the team then im all for bring in players on loan.

Someone like Baptista at the time was a really good loan signing, unfortunately he was injured alot and never really adapted (Bar the Liverpool game).

Loans are the way forward in this market for teams who can't risk a massive amount of cash for a player to flop. Take someone on loan see if they're any good for the team and sign them at the end on a pre agreed deal means that the money won't be wasted and the risk if he doesn't fit in is minimal so you can get rid of him. You could bring Cesar in on loan if he crumbles you can send him back to QPR otherwise you've given big wages to a bench warmer because he flopped.
