Bastos celebrates debut goal for West Brom, putting them into the lead

West Brom went top, after a superb performance away at Peterborough. West Brom put five past the bottom club, with Michel Bastos and Sebastian Giovinco both getting braces.

West Brom took the lead just before the half-hour, with Michel Bastos getting the goal. Bastos recieved the ball from a short-corner, and curled it round Ben Amos, with the keeper expecting a cross. Bastos scored his 2nd just two minutes later, a delfected shot fell for Bastos, who thundered in an incredible overhead kick, erupting the 3,000 travelling baggies. Arouna Kone then picked up his first goal for West Brom just a minute later, a terrible fumble from Ben Amos gave Kone the easiest of chances who made no mistake in making it 3-0. Sebastian Giovinco then made it 4-0, on the stroke of the end of the first half. Giovinco rose above the young Ryan Bennet, and found the power to put it past Ben Amos. Giovinco made it 5-0, with 15 minutes to go. Peterborough not learning their lessons with the 4th goal, with Giovinco again rising above Ryan Bennet and Giovinco's header this time left Ben Amos no chance. West Brom finished the game as 5-0 winners, and head into their next game, away at Watford, with a lot of confidence aswell as the win lifiting the Baggies into top of the league.
