Re: Gold Championship 81

Need to increase my depth in some positions BADLY

Im top heavy with strikers, which is ridiculous considering i only play one up top.

Anelka, Kalou, Sturridge, Terry, Carvalho and Terry all available.

If you can see a deal for one or two of your players let me know. I wont offer ridiculous counters, ill say there is no deal if i cant see a fair one

I need to get an extra LB, a couple of CB's, 2 x wide players.

So if you need the above position and have the below to offer. talk to me:cool:

Abdel Zizi named new head coach of Italian giants Internazionale

After months of looking out for a new top team, Italian champions Internazionale contacted Belgian manager Abdel Zizi with a well deserved job offer.

Since his first day at the job, the manager has analysed the squad and opted to bring in some world stars.

Problems with depth will probably see him struggle the first season to get any results, but the focus is on the cups and buying astonishing players.

After 2 days in charge, Zizi managed to buy two of the games greats in Cesc Fabregas and Alexandre Pato.

New deals are yet to be negotiated, but Abdel stated he will not back down buying such great names, even if it means destroying the depth completely.

New Internazionale captain Cesc Fabregas and prodigious striker Alexandre Pato.

Therefore, the manager didn't held his hope ups for his encounter against AC Milan, at the first day in charge in the first round of the cup.

Internazionale however stunned their rivals with a 1-2 win, courtesy of out-of-favor striker Suazo and Quaresma.

In the hope of finding managers who are willing to negotiate, Abdel Zizi has transferlisted top players like Eto'o and Cambiasso.

Lyon continue their unbeaten start to the season with an impressive thumping of title rivals Bordeaux on their own turf. Lisandro Lopez was not available so Lyon gaffer, Dai Winston handed a start to £15m man Gabby Agbonlahor. The Englishman didn't disappoint or waste any time staking a claim for a regular starting spot as he, firstly set up Toulalan for the games opener and then scoring a great goal himself.

Bordeaux did get a goal back pretty sharpish after going two behind but Lyon's quality shone through in the end as they hit two more goals.

Winston is impressed with the way things are going presently.

Schwarzer in Drug shame!

PicImg_Mark_Schwarzer_Fulham_1a55.JPG?adImageId=1150837&imageId=4043796

After losing 4-1 to Arsenal the Fulham manager ordered Shwarzer to take a drugs test immediately. The reasoning for this was his actions in todays game which included:-

"61: Mark SCHWARZER receives the ball on his left and smashes a dipping 25-yarder against the bar"

and

"71: Mark SCHWARZER miss hits his shot wide of goal"

After the game the manager commented saying " I have no idea what Schwarzer was trying to achieve during the game, however I take nothing away from Arsenal as they deserved to win and we wern't expecting to take anything from this game anyway.

Bari's Giant Killing Continues!

Having already beaten Internazionale black and blue 2-0 in their second game of the season, Bari achieved the impossible by coming back from behind to beat the other half of Milan at the San Siro. The win leaves Bari at the top of the table, but with a senior squad with an average age of 20 and rating of 80, the only thing in manager Alun Davies' eyes for this season is survival.

NEW
boss with
NEW
plans .

With 4 games now under his belt and a nice 4 point lead already at the top of the SPL, new boss Tony Baldo has revealed that he has a huge ambition to make history with Celtic this season.

"So far so good is all I can say at the minute. When the SMFA Champs Group came out with us being drawn against Atletico Madrid, FC Porto and Bayern Munich, everyone, including our own fans had already wrote us off from the start. Two amazing wins later though and we're in with a great chance of qualifying. Like we have already, our ambition this season will be to complete even bigger 'shocks'. There is a clear desire within the club to make history and go further than we ever have in the SMFA Champs Cup. We also expect to complete the treble in Scotland as well. Celtic are slowly but surely pulling away from the other competitors in the SPL and the trophies will act as the evidence for this come the end of the season."

CAGLIARI STILL AHEAD OF THE GROUP

esultanza_cagliari_548x345.jpg

It has been nothing but smiles at Cagliari. The Rossublu still haven't lost.

Ten games into the season and Cagliari are still unbeaten! The small club from Sardinia have managed 6 wins and two draws in Serie A and are still in the race for the Italian Shield trophy.

Some great football and favorable results have left the Rossublu faithful believing that they can record the club's first Scudetto since 1970. Cagliari have notched Ws against clubs like Lazio, Udinese, Napoli, Sampdoria and most recently against title contenders Fiorentina where the match ended 4-3, advantage Cagliari, following a long range shot by Biondini in the 87th minute.

The Cagliari gaffer has had some problems in the transfer market trying to find valuable additions to the squad. The Rossublu are in serious need of some debth seeing as a couple of injuries will leave the team depleted.

On a positive note, the manager has managed to grab some noteworthy players in defenders Bottinelli (88, San Lorenzo) and Rever (88, Gremio) and midfielders Donati (86-87, Bari) and Ervitti (87-88, Banfield).

Cagliari fans will be holding their breath as their team will play Atalanta, Juventus and Inter in the following three matches. Especially the match against 2nd placed Juventus will draw some attention. Hopefuly "the old lady" will be sent weeping back to the retirement home.

A pass into the semi-finals of the Shield is virtually guaranteed as Cagliari welcome Serie B side Modena.

Stay tuned...

Juve go top as Amauri shines!

amauri_juventus.jpg

Juventus went top of the Serie A yesterday after comfortably beating Napoli 4-1 away from home. They play Sao Paulo at home in the SMFA Champions Cup on Monday night.

Napoli got the opener as they started the brightest, Christian Maggio netting from six yards after a lovely flick through Cannavaro and he tucked the ball into the corner past Buffon. Maggio could have net moments later but fluffed his shot wide of the target. David Trezeguet shot just wide as Juve started to pressure for an equaliser. A quick ball from Nasri gave Amauri some space inside the box and with his first touch he rifled a shot into the roof of the net for 1-1. A quality strike from the forward. Near the end of half, Juan Roman Riquelme headed just wide after some nice build up from Napoli. David Trezeguet was put in lots of space by Nasri’s wonderful through ball but the Frenchman’s first touch let him down and he knew it was a chance missed. Half Time Napoli 1-1 Juventus.

Juan Roman Riquelme nearly put Napoli ahead after the break, with a stunning twenty five yard rocket shot hitting the bar with Buffon motionless. Amauri gave Juventus the lead in the fifty eighth minute, poking the ball past the defender on the line following a goalmouth scramble. Eight goals in seven matches now for the inform Brazilian. Samir Nasri sealed the points for Juventus in the sixty fourth minute thumping his shot into the bottom corner. Fabio Grosso was put clear down the left hand side and he smashed his shot into the roof of the net to put the icing on the cake in the eighty third minute. Full Time Napoli 1-4 Juventus.

Smashed 4-2 by Bayern' date=' but somehow find ourselves top of the Bundesliga. Let Subotic and Nuri go for older, higher rated players. Willing to do the same with Hummels, Felipe Santana and some others.

Nelson Valdez has been a beast for me, although he's out injured for a while :([/quote']

Juve move 7 points clear!

del_piero_celeb_milan2_1.jpg

Del Piero celebrates his goal.

Juventus have moved 7 points clear in Italy this season, over Fiorentina. This comes after Juventus beat Bari 3-2 at home tonight, half way through the season. Palermo away is next up on the cards for Juventus on Wednesday.

Juventus started well, Samir Nasri missed an opportunity 9 minutes in, heading inches wide from six yards. Barreto shot just wide for Bari in the 14th minute as Bari tried to get a goal themselves. In the 18th minute, Carvahla Amauri ran clear of the Bari defence and curled a stunning shot past the helpless Gillet in the Bari goal. Little chances were on show in the rest of the half, and Bari stunned everyone in the Stadio Olimpico Di Torino with Barreto hitting a stunning thirty yard shot past Buffon. Half Time Juventus 1-1 Bari.

20 seconds into the second half, Alessandro Del Piero skipped past his marker and curled a stunning shot from twenty yards into the top corner for 2-1. Thomas Vermaelen made it 3-1 in the 56th minute, tapping in the rebound from a Nasri shot that hit the crossbar. Koman pulled a goal back for the brilliant Bari but Juventus held on for a vital win in their quest to win the Serie A. Full Time, Juventus 3-1 Bari

Welsh manager, Dai Winston has guided Lyon to victory in the French Shield. Tonights final was a hard fought contest and Auxerre gave their all. In the end they had no answer for the class within this Lyon team. Winston has enjoyed great success since coming to France and Lyon have lost just twice all season. They are progressing well the both the League and the SMFA Cup.

The French SHield was not top on the list of must wins this season and Winston did tend to play a weaker team in the competition but the players always delivered. Lyon will be hoping to keep their brilliant form going and stay on top of Ligue 1.
