Guest Scout Maker
Re: Gold Championship 83, Transfers & Match Reports Thread Toulouse sign Iaquinta! Just Hours after Dan Forester became the new Toulouse manager, he signed 30 year old Italian Striker Vincenzo Iaquinta for a two for one player exchange of Mauro Cetto and Etienne Capoue. Forester had only been in charge of the club for five hours when he phoned up Juventus manager Triple-6 and started negotiations with him. It is said that Triple wanted Etienne Capoue and Paulo Machado as part of the deal, but he eventually had to settle for Mauro Cetto. Toulouse were also in talks with Tottenham over the sale of Peter Crouch but Forester felt Tottenham were asking for too much and decided to go with Iaquinta. One of the big questions at Toulouse is who will Iaquinta replace. David Bellion and Marco Ruben have proven to be one of the most deadly strike partnerships in the French League but Iaquinta will have to start. Will Toulouse go for a 4-3-3 formation with Ruben, Bellion and Iaquinta up front or will Iaquinta replace one of the two strikers. And, who will replace Capoue and Cetto who were both Toulouse starters. Sky Sports managed to get a few words with Forester over the signing and he told us "I am a huge fan of Iaquinta, Capiue and Cetto will be missed and it will be hard to replace them but now we have a striker who can easily score 15-20 goals a season." AVFC 1,745
Re: Gold Championship 83, Transfers & Match Reports Thread FIORENTINA APPOINT NEW MANAGER! Some are worried about the optimistic appointment of manager Aaron Hartnett as it is believed that Hartnett does not have much experience in Serie A, how will he cope? Earlier in a press conference Hartnett was asked about what his expaectations would be for Fiorentina, Hartnett replied; 'We will do are best to win the shield, we are heading into the the shield semi's against Udinese and I believe this is a great chance to bring some silver ware back to La Viola , I also believe we can compete for a champions league position, if not win the league. We are currently in a tricky situation in the Champions League as we are only on 1 point with 3 games played, we will fight for 2nd place.' When Hartnett was asked about the transfer market he told us that he had 'several bids out on players to add much needed depth to the club'. Hartnett also informed us that he wants to sell both Frey and Gilardino and new Italian international Montolivo. On his way out?
