Real Madrid's Incredible Shopping Spree

Real Madrid have been very active in the first days of this transfer window. Till now they have concluded the signing of the Cameroonian forward Samuel Eto'o for a deal which saw Benzema and Granero heading to the Italians. But that's not all, they have also reached an agreement for 4 other great players. These are Javier Mascherano from Liverpool, De Rossi of Roma, Ashley Cole of Chelsea and Rooney of Manchester United. There is still no official news from either clubs so we will wait for further notice.

Real Madrid have also set projects for their youth team as they secured the signing of 14 players, a number which could have been much greater wasn't for the great competition they found from other teams; especially Inter.

Real's New Signings Arrive

Today Real Madrid have officially presented a great contingent of players. A total of 18 men is divided between 4 stars for the first team and 14 youngsters for the youths.

Rooney is the second forward arriving at the Spanish giants after the Cameroonian Eto'o. It is believed that he arrived for a fee of 2 Million along with Raul and L.Diarra heading for Manchester. He has signed a 4 year contract during which he will get £76,800 weekly.

The Englishmen that will pair up-front with Eto'o.

Another new face at Madrid is the Argentine defensive-minded midfielder Javier Mascherano. The former Liverpool stopper has had his medical early this morning and joined Los Blancos for a fee of £8 Million and the aging striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy. He has signed a 5 year contract with a wage that amounts to £45,500 weekly.

The Argentine hopes to get better chances of winning silverware at Madrid.

The last Galactico arriving today is the Italian Daniele De Rossi. He came to the nine-times Champions League winner after a bad season in the Italian capital. He is set to make an impenetrable wall in the midfield along with Mascherano.

De Rossi arrived at Madrid, in a deal which also saw Roma getting Gago and De La Red.

Lastly, 14 new faces joined the youth team in the attempt to create a self-sufficient team where the club's stars rise from their youths. Some notable names that arrived are Alberto Botia, Sergio Canales and Machedo Michel.

The only bad note was the disagreement on the fee for the English left-back Ashley Cole as the chairman disagreed on the fee agreed between the manager and Chelsea's administrators.

Sevilla Hire Rohit Gautam

Sevilla hired American born Rohit Gautam earlier this morning and presented him to the press. Rohit Gautam had a few words to say about his squad and his tone was annoyance.

"Well I arrived in Sevilla to see my funds depleted and players who are talented but will make no immediate impact this season quite honestly. I have people intersted in Jesus Navas but how can I trade him when my squad is not deep enough as other big clubs. If they really want him they must sacrifice more then I but other then that he will not be going anywhere."

Real Madrid and Inter have been linked to Navas but will he leave?

When asked about the goals this season Rohit Gautam spoke frankly:

"We want to get promoted we feel we do not belong in division 2 and we will show it."

When asked about transfer news Rohit Gautam smiled:

"We have not really thought of bringing in any new players yet but time will tell I like to take my time and see how my club performs before bringing in players."

"Thank You and will see you all at another time."

USA Hire Rohit Gautam as Coach of US National Team

USA management announced that Rohit Gautam will be also manager of the national side along with being manager of Sevilla.

When asked in Spain how he felt he was emotional:

"This is one of the greatest honors ever, I am able to coach the National Team. The United States has always been written off due to our lack of interest in football but I promise this World Cup we will go far. I will be looking into players to call up and first we must win the group and advance."

Will this be a turning point in US soccer History?

Real Madrid vs Liverpool Preview

Today the league will start-off with the first match for Los Blancos being away against Mersyside Red. In this match we'll see a lot of new transfers getting in action with their new club. Even though the exact formation has not been announced, Real Madrid will be expected to debut the attacking duo Eto'o and Rooney as well as one between Mascherano and De Rossi. Liverpool, on the other hand, are expected to field their new players, Van Nistelrooy and Totti.

"Everyone is very excited for the first match of the season but have to keep our feet on the ground. Many journalists have put us as winners on paper but we are very cautious of the potential danger our opponents have. The first few games will be experimental ones for us, as we had no opportunities to try our numerous signings in a friendly beforehand and we still need to settle in a formation which is suitable for every player on the team and that will allow them to play at their maximum and without having to play in a restricted way."

Mascherano will play his first game against his former club.

Chelsea began with a hard fought victory yesterday in the opening match of the Forumers Elite league. Chelsea are level on top with Barcelona and Valencia after one game. Chelsea play London rivals Arsenal next in the league at home.

This match was a slow starter, as most opening league matches are. The first real opportunity falling to Yuri Zhirkov after ten minutes, but he blasted wide of Dida’s post. After that Milan had a dominating spell, forcing Petr Cech into numerous saves. Pato brought a brilliant save out of the inform Petr Cech in the thirtieth minute, turning Vidic and rifling a shot towards goal. Antonini hit the crossbar in the thirty fourth minute, shooting from all of thirty yards only to hit the crossbar. In stoppage time at the end of the first half, Yuri Zhirkov shot over the bar from eighteen yards. 0-0 at Half Time.

The second half was what brought this game to life, early on Seedorf shot inches wide when free on the left wing. Zhirkov shot over again, in the fourth eighth minute before Anelka shaved the crossbar from twenty yards. Somehow Andrea Pirlo put Clarence Seedorf’s pull back wide from six yards. The sensational Didier Drogba was put clean through by Frank Lampard and he rounded Dida only to hit the outside of the post form a tight angle. Ronaldinho shot from the edge of the area after a goal mouth scramble and Pirlo produced a wonderful save out of Cech from thirty five yards. Michael Ballack produced a great save from Dida, saving Ballack’s shot from thirty five yards. In the seventy fifth minute Nemanja Vidic headed inches over as Chelsea pressured. Seedorf sent in a cross which deflected kindly off Carvalho for Pato whose half volley was sensationally kept out by Cech. Suarez, Lennon and Pazzini all came on for their debuts and it was the small Uruguayan who produced the winner, laying the ball off to Frank Lampard who blasted the ball off Nesta and reacted the quickest to poke the ball into the bottom corner at the second attempt. Chelsea could have wrapped the game up in stoppage time when Ballack was played clean through by Suarez but he blazed over from just outside the box. Chelsea held on for a famous win and the best possible start to the campaign.

Carlos in action for Brazil

With the match underway the first real impact was made by Sevilla when Jesus Navas struck from 15 yards out in the 4th minute to score putting Sevilla in the lead. This quick and impressive goal should impress Navas' suitors. Sevilla continued with the pressure when in the 7th minute Sébastien Squillaci scored right infront of the keeper again making this an easy game for Sevilla. Lyon started fighting back with Lisandro in the 22th minute striking a shot wide that could have been a goal. Kanoute makes it 3-0 in the 39th minute with a virtually tap in goal a mistake by the defense. Lyon were not to give up and Lisandro finally found the net in the 41st minute scoring quickly beating his marker and hitting a low driven shot. With the half coming to a close the score was 3-1. The second half had Lyon coming out quick, what could the interim coach probably told Lyon???? Lyon were gifted when a controversial red card was given to Julien Escude for time wasting in the 47th minute which will be debated by in the coming weeks. Hugo Lloris then made a reaction save in the 48th minute. Lyon pushed and were rewarded in the 58th minute by Modric netting the goal with his head during the corner kick. Lyon were pushing back with the score 3-2 momentum was on Lyon's side. Kanoute puts on a show for the crowd in the 83rd minute but misses his shot, all that work for nothing!. Lisandro makes it 3-3 with a gift goal in the 84th minute. A deflection of Palop allows Lisandro to tap in the goal. Navas gets another chance in the 85th minute but does not know what to do with it and loses the ball. Lyons possesion last 5 minutes with them going for a tie. Game ends as all the hard work for Sevilla is erased by Lyon's come back.

Real Madrid Sign Chivu and Santon

Real Madrid have continued with their glorious signings by successfully swapping Raul Albiol for the Romanian left-back Chivu and Davide Santon.

Cristiano-Ronaldo-runs-at-001.jpg

Chivu and Santon join Ronaldo and a long list of superstars.

So Real Madrid have managed to satisfy many of the Manager's needs by signing a CB/LB, DM,CM and CF. What is left is only a Winger or LM or RM and it is rumored that they are ready to let Kaka go to reach their objective.
