West Ham 2 - 2 BURY

2 quick goals at the end of the match earned us 1 point, but I'm disappointed in the overall performance. Another goal came from Wijnaldum, his 5th, the other provided by Huntelaar. Now sitting in 6th with 10 points.

Midweek fixture will be against Sheffield who sits right above us on the table.

Re: English Championship 5579 - Discussion Thread

Despite an opening day win, several big signings and rises to Rafael, Mario Suarez, Johnny De Guzman and Erik Lamela Ihaven't started off the season well with just three points from my first five games.

Peterborough just squeeze past Blackpool thanks to a 87th minute winner from Steven Caulker who will be lining up to Gary "Pit bull" Medel in the coming days following an agreement between Peterborough and Everton which will see both Arnautovic and Medel join Peterborough in a deal believed to be worth £14m. I am losing nearly 500k a game' date=' so id rather sign these two now and be in debt at the end of the season than sign someone that'll be off their transfer ban in a few months when I could be £7-8m worst off. Will make my squad look far greater too, push my wages onto a ridiculous scale but hopefully improve my cup chances. Medel will become only my 3rd 89 rated player, while Arnautovic will put a Peterborough kit on for the second time in 5579, following his loan back in season 7.[/quote']

Two great signings, fair play. I've got almost £17 million, and I think I'll be using it similarly to you to try and bring in two strong squad players.

Try and get a bit of activity going in this place' date='

Who is your most capped player? (Squad > Views > International Caps)

Mine is Seamus Coleman, with 45 appearances for the Republic.

EDIT: Looks like Gervinho is Ivory Coast's main man![/quote']

Alessandro Nesta, 87!

Samir Handanovic has 78 caps for Slovenia, but Gervinho and Dembele have the most impressive international records.

Dembele's scored 29 goals, has 19 assists and 12 man of the match performances in 76 caps for Belgium.

Gervinho's scored 21 goals, has 20 assists and 5 man of the match performances in 67 caps for the Ivory Coast.

James Macarther, 8 caps for the Scots.

On another note, Gillingham have made a few squad building transfers.

Sone Aluko, Tyler Boyd and Onur Kivrak all join Gillingam with Ali Al Habsi departing.

Tomas Kalas also joins on loan.

A good hard fought 2-0 victory for Southampton against Burton Albion. Darren Bent with both goals coming in the last 15 minutes. Puts me up to joint top of division 4.

A couple of new faces coming to Southampton with Scottish international James Morrison coming from Rangers along with Kolo Toure having agreeing a fee with Everton. Happy with the squad additions to help the push for the title.

I wanted toure myself. But my nine million bid went unanswered to the point it expired. So a bit annoying to see him being sold for cheaper

Lol at Swindon Potuk and Milanov have a whopping 1 cap each for Turkey and Bulgaria respectively!

Still have the Chelsea offer if anyone knows of a good candidate ;)

Re: English Championship 5579 - Discussion Thread

Birminghams decision to attack the flanks and play best players on wing paid dividends, with a yellow and a red card for Prestons defenders. After that, a Briand double sends Birmingham through to round 2, and undefeated in 6 games (all comps)

Reward is an easy (as it gets in this gw) trip to swindon which we should.be favourites to take.

3 well capped players, from least to best

Lichtsteiner - 71 games for the swiss.

Yaya Toure - 80 games for Ivory Coast (9G,10A,4MOM)

AND THE GOD HIMSELF (if someone has better pray tell)

David Villa

76 Apps - 52 Goals - 27 Assists - 27 MOM

a goal every 1.5 games assist every 3. Thats a goal or assists every game and man of the Match every 3rd game.

Nottingham Forest 0 Peterborough 1

A late, late goal from Shane Long against Forest see's Peterborough go top of the league.

Lot of rotation in my squad at the moment, lot of options which I am loving! Lot of versatility, had Wanyama at CB, Medel at RB and Arnautovic behind Long tonight. Although think I may revert back to my old style of preferred positions until I am forced to play players in their secondary positions. Only problem is that I play Medel, I could potentially lose N'Guemo.

Big game against Everton next week though, Medel and Arnautovic will be rested for that game against their former club.

Coleman, Bardsley, Maartens and Caulker recalled into the starting XI for Hartlepool on Saturday.

Re: English Championship 5579 - Discussion Thread

Gillingham make it 2 wins from 2 under Josh Dagnall as they come from behind to beat Crewe Alexandre 2-1. Crewe took a 1-0 lead through Fox on the 50th minute in what looked like a tight game but Gillingham responded well with Gignac striking on the 69th minute and Plattenhardt firing home on the 80th. Gignac received MOM and Luis Muriel of Crewe was also injured during the course of the game and I wish him a swift recovery.

The Gillingham steam train rockets on for another game!
