Re: English Championship 5579 - Discussion Thread

Brilliant 5-2 :D win over 3rd bottom Derby see's Cardiff move into the top ten for the first time since very early season, Ambrosini gets a brace. :)

Boro at home next and a win could see me move up to 8th place, but with just 7 to play right now the play-offs are probably just a little too far away.

Newcastle are lining up a summer move for £10m-rated West Ham striker Carlton Cole to fill the gap left by the departure of Andy Carroll to Liverpool in the January transfer window.

Full story: Sunday Mirror

In today's gossip column......

Perfect signing for Newcastle!! He's average and over rated a marriage made in heaven. :D

Oh the Sunday Mirror, I'm shaking in my boots....:o:rolleyes:

EDIT : Five points adrift with 7 to play Tom, what a mahoosive game at home next week is !

Re: English Championship 5579 - Discussion Thread

Dissapointing loss with Chelsea, 3-1 in the end. They have world class players but i was hoping to get at least a point. Eto'o is suspended, so is John Terry still and im without Lennon. This means Saviola gets a rare start and Bale will come in at Left back for some extra quality. Match report later. West Ham next. Still hoping to buy class player before next game. Ideally a RB.

Re: English Championship 5579 - Discussion Thread

Arturo VIDAL has completed his move to Manchester City from Real Madrid in a swap deal for Vágner LOVE and Boris PROKOPIC . All other offers were turned down.

The offer for Daniel GUIZA of Fenerbahçe SK from Manchester City has been accepted. The transfer will be completed within the next 24 hours.

Happy with them two deals as Vidal can play in defence and in the midfield which adds a lot of cover. I bought Guiza as a replacement for Vagner Love, I feel I got a very good deal on him swapping an 82 and a 76 for him.

Also looking on making some more changes to my squad:

Bastos can go - For a decent P/E with a lb or cb involved in the deal.

Frey - Can go for another keeper 89+ and some cash

Squillaci- Can go for a cb 89+ and some cash

Downing - Can go for £8.5m

Cambiasso- A good young player and another player/cash

Essien - good young player and another player/cash

Gilardino - £20m or P/E with a striker involved

Re: English Championship 5579 - Discussion Thread

Had 34 club messages already today, and it's not even half way through the day. Set to be a very busy day at Swansea on the transfer market, stepped up my attempts in trying to sign my targets and really hope that at least one player joins Swansea, although i've got competition for all of my targets.

Your not the only one stepping up in the transfer market today, one deal already agreed at Anfield with hopefully another one or two finalised by the end of the day:)

Re: English Championship 5579 - Discussion Thread

The offer for Tom CLEVERLEY of Olympiacos from Swansea City has been accepted along with other club offers. Olympiacos will now decide which offer to proceed with. The transfer will be completed within the next 24 hours.

So the offers for Cleverley are:

Aston Villa: £2m & Evgeni Pomazan & Maksim Grigorev

Burton Albion: £2m & Moustapha Sailfou & Jermaine Grandison

Hereford United: £1.8m & Mate Lacic & Stephen Henderson

Sheffield United: £4.3m & Matt Phillips

Swansea: £325k & Michael Kightly

It's clear why there's a lot of interest in him, he's doing very well at Wigan and is a very good player for the future. I'd prefer to him to Kightly be some way, and Kightly's external value was a good one but i don't think anyone can be certain that they've got the best bid in as it is going to be very tight. Suprised Sheffield United chucked Matt Phillips into things though

Re: English Championship 5579 - Discussion Thread

Iman Ahmed has resigned as the manager of Manchester United.

Here's hoping it will go to a deserving forumer this time.:)

Also, I just noticed that Heurelho Gomes of Spurs has notched up an impressive 104 starts for the club.

So my question is, does anyone else have a player who has reached the golden 100 mark yet?

Song's got 83 for me and he's my highest, Pretty good for an outfield player.

I've got no chance,I could have got him if I chucked in Darmian as well but that wasn't a gamble I was willing to take.

My highest is 71 with Mikel Arteta. I suppose it has to be a keeper that will reach the 100 as they don't really lose fitness, they don't get injured and managers don't tend to change them around as frequently as outfielders.

Re: English Championship 5579 - Discussion Thread

This may be absolutely impossible to do and if it is ignore me.

Would a MOD be able to change the first post on this thread to someone who can keep the list of people in this setup up to date?

Currently it's higgy who's there but as he's no longer on the forum and he's deactivated the account it's out of date.

It would be nice to just to go onto the first page and see who's managing who.

The offer for Belözoglu EMRE of Fenerbahçe SK from Northampton Town has been accepted. The transfer will be completed within the next 24 hours.
The offer for Roberto HILBERT of Besiktas JK from Northampton Town has been accepted. The transfer will be completed within the next 24 hours.

2 88's which should definately stay. Only had to pay 10.1m which leaves us with 7.2m in the kitty :)

Re: English Championship 5579 - Discussion Thread

With Doncaster now dropping into negative funds and unless a miracle happens, Doncaster will be relegated this season.

No matter what happens, I will be leaving Doncaster at the end of the season. I see why they call it the cursed club and have tried my best to do good with it. But with Relegation looming it is now near impossible to survive. But whether I do or not I will be leaving and it may be a while before I consider rejoining the setup. I wish everyone the best of luck, especially anybody with the skill to get Doncaster back up into Div 3 and even into Div 2. Ive made a few contributions to the setup, the Hall of Fame badge being the main one. But Doncaster are not my type of club, if there is one and I will leave at the end of the season.
