Rovers seal N'Doye deal

ayms5f.jpg

Bristol Rovers are delighted to announce the signing of Senegalese forward Dame N'Doye from FC Copenhagen after he agreed a four year contract on Friday evening. N'Doye joins Rovers in a swap deal that sees Denis Stracqualursi and Daniel Ginczek join Copenhagen. N'Doye scored 18 goals in 30 games for Copenhagen last season, and it was that kind of form that not only impressed Bristol Rovers manager Dan Forester and Middlesborough manager Bex, but also Senegal manager Amara Traore, who handed N'Doye his first international cap in 2011. N'Doye had been a target for Middlesborough aswell as Rovers and both had bids accepted, Boro's being in the region of £9.6M, however N'Doye opted to move to Rovers. Denis Stracqualursi joined Bristol Rovers on the 12th March from Tigre in a straight swap for Luca Toni, and although he was out of action for over a month due to a knee injury, he still netted seven times for Rovers in eleven appearances. Daniel Ginczek joined Rovers on the 11th January from Borussia Dortmund for £1.7M, however his first team games were scarce, only making one sub appearance for Rovers in the league.

When asked about the signing of N'Doye, Rovers manager Forester replied
"We're delighted to bring in Dame, he's someone we've been monitoring for a long time and we're delighted he chose to sign for us over Boro. It's dissapointing to have to lose Daniel and Denis, however Daniel wanted first-team football which is something we couldn't give him and Denis has been great for us but after his injury he told me he wanted to move somwhere and make a fresh start to boost his confidence, so it's a win-win situation for both clubs really."

Due to limited opportunities at colchester Yassine el ghanessy has opted to move out of colchester to liverpool for a fee 7m.

1266257589_0.jpg

reportedly the cash raised by the sale of el ghanessy has been reinvested into buying gonzalo rodriguez from Hudderfield town for a cut price of 10m.

Vaclav-Pilar_2772513.jpg

In other news Colchester have lost out in the race to sign highly coveted Czech winger Vaclav Pilar. Colchester had bid around 4m which was clearly not enough for Wolfsburg as Middlesborough signed him for over 7m.

Where would Gonzalo fit in?

Since the signing of Rodriguez Gonzalo Colchester United manager has a few more options to select his back four. According to the sources Gonzalo is certain to start at the CB position. Lets look at the few options manager has on his hands.

  • Kolo Toure can be moved to the RB position as both Berezutsky and Gonzalo at center. This will though lead to Andujar Coke being demoted to bench and further demoting Peruvian international Carlos Zambrano to reserves.

  • Kolo Toure already is on the wrong side of his thirties and hence could be a subject of transfer out the club. According to the sources, Toure could leave colchester for a decent player exchange deal though manager would be reluctant to sell him for just cash.

  • Vasili Berezutsky could move out of colchester leaving Toure and Gonzalo at center back. According to sources, Russian champions CSKA are keen to take the CB to Russian capital for just under 9M.

Kokorin signs for Rovers

wjbd08.jpg

Bristol Rovers are delighted to announce the signing of Aleksandr Kokorin on a four year contract from Russian club Dynamo Moskow. The deal sees Rovers player Ferreira Ari move to Moskow in an exchange deal. Kokorin is a 21 year old winger who is considered one of the brightest talents in Russia, alongside CSKA Moskow midfielder Alan Dzagoev. It is believed Rovers were monitoring the progress of Kokorin at Moskow for a very long time and when Dynamo announced they were willing to sell, Rovers were first on hand. Kokorin's form at Moskow earned him a call up to Dick Advocaat's Russian national side, where he has made six appearances and has been called up to the Russian Euro 2012 side, where he came on for the final five minutes in Russia's opening game against Czech Republic where they won 4-1. Ferreira Ari signed for Rovers on 27th June 2011 from Spartak Moscow, in an exchange deal which saw Davide Lanzafame and Conor Sammon move to Moscow. Ari made 74 appearances for Rovers scoring 13 goals, however in his last few months at Rovers found it difficult to earn a place in the starting XI.

When asked about the transfer, Rovers manager Dan Forester said
"We're delighted to sign Aleksandr. He's one we've been looking at for a long time so it's great to finally get everything sorted. He's a very pacy and skillful winger with good technical ability and he can't wait to get started here. It's a shame Ferreira had to go as part of the deal but he wasn't getting first-team football here and Dynamo Moskow assured him he would there so it's a good deal for both teams really."

In other news Rovers missed out on VFL Wolfsburg winger Vaclav Pilar as he opted to move to Middlesbrough for a fee of £7M. Pilar, like Kokorin played in the Russia-Czech Republic match at the Euro's and scored the Czech's only goal in the 4-1 defeat. Forester told us
"It's dissapointing to lose out on Pilar as he's a great player, but unfortunately there are some teams who have much more financial power than us."
Rovers' offer to Wolfsburg is believed to have been an exchange deal which would have seen Magnus Eikrem and Stephen Reynolds move to Germany.

Smalling,Kovacic and Ayew new Liverpool starlets

chris-smalling_1684886c.jpg

3 super youngsters are coming from Leicester in exchange for Sakho+Matias Suarez+Dongou.Actually Sakho is going for Smalling+Kovacic and Matias+Dongou for Andre Ayew.A good deal for both sides but Liverpool manager was excited to know he'll have Smalling and especially Kovacic in his team.Ayew is a very good winger, watched by many clubs but he ended on Anfield in this long deal. The trio is over the moon to join the best club in England and are over the moon to be in same team with Liverpool stars: Ozil,Silva,Aguero,Benzema,Silva,Pique and many others.Hart was a decisive man as he convinced Smalling to join in our team.Kovacic and Ayew accepted in the first second when they heard Liverpool is after them.Sakho wasnt getting near of first team but Smalling is a quality England CB,future of England,Kovacic is one of the best youngsters in the world and Ayew is just an amazing winger.Sakho was a bench warmer for Liverpool,Matias same and Dongou was a cracking youngster for us but we get 2 another top one in Kovacic.Smalling played 32 games,14 as a sub for Leicester in last season and scored 2 goals and netted 2 assists aswell.Ayew played 32 games, scored 5 goals and netted 3 assists.Kovacic never played.IN other part Sakho was loaned out,Matias Suarez never played and Dongou never played.Liverpool fans are over the moon to have the best prospect for CB from England, the new Luka Modric and Andre Ayew who was one of the best players for Leicester.

Welcome to Anfield!

Blackpool strike a blockbuster deal!

sahin.jpgkanalad.jpgoriol.jpg

Blackpool can this late hour announce that a deal has been struck with Leicester City Football Club that will see Nuri Sahin, Jean-Armel Kana Biyik and Oriol Romeu join Blackpool and see Gylfi Sigurdsson, Roberto Firmino and Salvatore Bocchetti head the other way.

Blackpool would like to thank the trio for their time at Blackpool, but stated that it was time to reshuffle the team and prepare them for the Championship, which unfortunately means getting rid of our two biggest starlets in Gylfi and Roberto. Blackpool wishes the players all the success at their new club and will look to work with Leicester City Football Club in the future.

Stoke Sign Bender

LarseBender-1.jpg

Stoke have completed the signing of 23 year old German international, Lars Bender, from Leicester City. Bender, who featured 28 times for Leicester last season, is believed to have signed a five year deal at Stoke, worth upto £10M. It was well known in the press that Ben Newman has been on the hunt for a new CM since his arrival at the club two weeks ago, and it looks as if he's got his man. Bender can offer his abilities in both a centre midfielder role and defensive midfield role.

Bender comes in, in exchange for Daniel Sturridge, who heads to Leicester with six years worth of professional experience, which isn't bad for a 22 year old! Sturridge was one of the key players in Stoke's promotion to division three last season, notching up sixteen goals and sixteen assists in 34 games. He was one of just many wingers at Stoke, which is why Newman decided to exchange him and improve a playing position that was quite weak at Stoke. Bender has become Newman's second signing in charge of Stoke, although Erick Torres will be joining the club as part of the Osvaldo deal, making it his third signing in theory.

Salvio signs for Rovers however three depart

34y2n1k.jpg

Bristol Rovers are delighted to announce the signing of Eduardo Salvio from Sheffield Wednesday on a three year contract. The deal however will see Yoan Gouffran, Magnus Eikrem and Carlos Sanchez join Wednesday. Salvio moved to Rovers in an exchange deal which saw Eikrem and Sanchez join Wednesday, however Gouffran will leave for an undisclosed fee, believed to be around the £8m region. Salvio made over 144 appearances for Wednesday since he joined them six seasons ago for a fee of £8.5m from Lanus, scoring 26 goals and assisting 32. Salvio is believed to be a key player in Rovers manager Dan Forester's plans and he is likely to fill the void in midfield which will be left by Gouffran's departure. Gouffran played 33 times for Rovers, only scoring twice, and it is believed that during most of the time Gouffran spent at Rovers he was unhappy he wasn't getting enough first-team football. Carlos Sanchez joined Rovers on 12th July 2011 for a fee of £4.0m + Monterio Ukra. He played 81 games for Rovers, scoring 13 goals and assisting 5 whilst forming a strong midfield partnership with Pirmin Schwegler and Daniele Dessena. Magnus Eikrem spent most of his Rovers career in the youth team, since joining the club from Napoli for £2.9m in January, however he did have a brief spell in the first-team last season making 18 appearances and scoring once.

When asked about the deal, Rovers manager Dan Forester told us
"I am absolutely delighted to have signed Eduardo. I'm a big fan of his, he's played in very big games and is fearless. I'd have preffered if we didn't have to give Yoan, Carlos and Magnus as part of the deal but they're just as happy moving as I am receiving Eduardo. I wish them all the best of luck at Sheffield Wednesday. Some might say I'm overpaying for Eduardo, but nowadays you have to spent ridiculous amounts if you want the best players."

Lamela returns to Memorial Stadium

2utjaq1.jpg

Bristol Rovers have announced that Erik Lamela will be re-joining the club on loan from Sunderland for the upcoming season. Lamela has been on loan at Rovers for the past two seasons, making 37 appearances scoring 7 goals and assisting 5. Lamela started his career in England at Brighton after moving from River Plate for £125k, however he found it hard to break into the first-team and was loaned out to Brentford. Eventually he was sold to Hartlepool for £425k + Astemir Sheriev. Lamela never played for the Hartlepool first-team and spent all of his time there on loan at Gillingham where he made 13 appearances scoring the solitary goal. He then moved in Sunderland in late 2011 in a straight swap for Alessandro Matri. Lamela is yet to play for Sunderland's first-team, spending most of his time on loan at Rovers.

When asked about re-signing Lamela, Rovers manager Dan Forester said
"I'm delighted we've managed to sign up Erik for the upcoming season. He was a key part of our team last season and I feel he will be an even more vital player this season as we are lacking depth."

Stockport sign defensive trio!

Paolo-Di-Canio-008.jpg

County manager Paulo Di Canio has added Conceiçao Emerson, Serhiy Kryvtsov and Roel Brouwers to his squad for the upcoming season.

Having progressed throughout numerous performaces Emerson had shined in the search for Stockport's new #3. Having paid £7m, Emerson has a point to prove with Stockport's highest ever paid transfer free splashed out on the former Colchester United.

In the hunt for a new CB, Stockport turned to 21 year old Serhiy Kryvtsov in the light that they were lacking in that certain department. Also veteran defender Roel Brouwers, formerly of Borussia Mönchengladbach was snapped up for a measly £3.7m.

County boss Paulo [Di Canio] said earlier "I am delighted to have these players join us. They fit the profile of the players we are trying to attract to our club. Serhiy is young, athletic, skilful and very determined to succeed. They have impressed both myself and Eddie Newton with both their on-field defensive attributes and their off-field professional manner.

"I feel their defensive versatility will mean he is a great compliment to our current attacking players and that he will fit in seamlessly to our current tactical system of play"

Salpingidis and Vierinha sign on the dotted line!

SalpingidisDimitris.jpg

It has been revealed that Northampton have brought in two new recruits who are; 30year old Greek forward Dimitris Salpingidis who is an experience striker that has been brought in to strengthen Northampton's front line who is currently lacking in quality and also joining Northampton is Portuguese winger Adelino Vierinha who is joining from Monterrey in a swap deal which sees Braume Djalma departing to join the Mexican club after he described his experience as "a torrid time". Northampton haven't saw any quality strikers involved at the club since the departures of Julian Schieber and Jelle Vossen leaving for better clubs. After a couple of days with no strikers signing for Northampton it was expected that the latest signing Jefferson Farfan was going to become a striker but it is expected that he will take his position on the wings. On the other wing could be this next signing Adelino Vieirinha who should most likely take that position but faces stiff competition from Ryan Babel if the dutch winger stays at the club as he is hoping for a move away according to some special sources. These signings hopefully are just the beginning of Giovanni's summer of transfers. These two players follow Nathan Dyer and Jefferson Farfan into Northampton.

He was a weak link in our defence whenever he started."

He also criticized colchester back staff for signing Emerson despite having Yuri as the first choice LB in the team.He also joked " I am happy that Magomed has joined Yuri and me in the russian camp at colchester."

Emerson joined colchester from Shrewsbury midway last season with Uruguayan midfielder Walter Gargano in exchange for Axel Witsel. Emerson only appeared 9 times for the club and has now signed for stockport county for a sum of 7 million and young russian midfielder Ozdoev.

Millwall Tie Up Pre Season Signings

Millwall have been active in the transfer market over the last few weeks as they look to become serious contenders for the division two title in season seven. Four new faces have arrived at The New Den to improve on last seasons fifth place finish which saw Millwall lose out on promotion to Notts County in the play off final. The first big name to arrive is Frenchman Hatem Ben Arfa who arrives from Charlton on a five year deal, the quick footed winger has already sealed his place in the first team and has impressed in pre season friendlies.

Stockport 1-1 Shorpe

Benfica-vs.-Beira-Mar-008.jpg

Aimar passing his last man before opening the scoring for Shorpe

Paulo Di Canio hailed his Stockport heroes after coming from behind to take a dramatic late point against rivals Shorpe. But the manager insists that better results will come after they valiantly fought back. Di Canio said "A team like Stockport deserve better results than draws, and they have to repay the fans for their loyalty through thick and thin". Stockport's Alejandro Alfaro was sent off in the first ten minutes for an alleged headbutt on rival Varela for racist abuse. If this is true, Alfaro will face a charge and a possible prison sentence which won't be good news for boss Paulo Di Canio after splashing out on him in the summer. Stockport's equalizer came through Roel Brouwers. Recently signed from the German League, he was introduced into the side and scored a spectacular overhead kick to send the supporters into raptures.

2 wins from 2 puts Northampton 3rd.

Northampton 3:2 Hereford

Salpigidis-celebrates-aft-008.jpg

Salpingidis celebrates for Northampton

After, Giovanni was brought in to manage Northampton after tonights brilliant victory, the Italian has lead his team to a 2nd win from 2 games. Fans last game were pleased with the victory over Barnet but there was pessimism from some fans that Giovanni wouldn't be able to consistently win and this win should hopefully shush some of the haters..

Northampton stuck to Giovanni's famous 4-4-2 formation which has been consistently used since Trapatoni took over at Northampton. This team-line up saw Dimitris Salpingidis make his second appearance for the club. The first major point of tonights game saw Marco Russ for Hereford booked for a dangerous offence but the first major chance came from the Hereford forward Burak Yilmaz who was unable to capitalize on his fortunate opportunity. This opportunity was one that Burak would be kicking himself for as on the 9th minute, a brilliant long range shot was blocked by the keeper only for John Ruiz to finish! Northampton 1:0 Hereford. This gave Northampton alot of confidence which was evident where Giovanni Sio and Ignacio Camacho had attempts on goal. But after a corner was awarded to Hereford, Andreas Granqvist nonchalantly was able to lob it over the advancing keeper. Northampton 1:1 Hereford. On the 21st minute, Pedro Botelho was booked for time wasting. Next to have an attempt on goal was Dimitris Salpingidis but he wasn't able to convert his shot into a goal. Next, the ball was knocked long by Nathan Dyer, but the ball was sent into the oppositions half. After the last few attempts from each team, the game went very slow which only saw one attack. HALF TIME; NORTHAMPTON 1:1 HEREFORD.

Paul-Benson-the-Swindon-T-008.jpg

Northampton make it 1:0

After the half time break both teams came out motivated for the second half to grab that 2nd goal and to finish the job. After only 2minutes of the second half, the greek forward Dimitris Salpingidis finally bagged his first goal for Northampton after completing his transfer. Northampton 2:1 Hereford. The crowd was buzzing and electrified but the gameplay after the goal wasn't able to replicate the crowds feelings. Alot of defensive play had started from Northampton with Davide Santon getting involved alot. With 22minutes left of the game, Northampton bagged their third and thought it was all over when Mauro Formica caressed in a curling shot with amazing technique. Northampton 3:1 Hereford. After the ball hit the back of the net, Hereford in the end began to crank up the pressure with Argentinian forward Jonathan Cristaldo for Hereford start to get involved with the game but was unable to score from his opportunities. On the 75th minute Bawab for Hereford smashed it into the back of the net and give Hereford a chance back in the game. Hereford attempted to find there way back into the game but were unable to, resulting in a win for Northampton. FULL TIME: Northampton 3:2 Hereford

Giovanni-Trapattoni-006.jpg

A nervy last 10mins for Giovanni!

It's looking like Giovanni Trapattoni has been the right appointment to Northampton as he collected a 2nd win from 2 games. Next up is Bristol City which is also a game that will be featuring at Sixfields. Will Northampton recieve their 3rd win of the season? Are any new targets joining? News will be joining soon.
