Benfica vs Bayern Munich {Unmanaged}

att 50,368

It was an emotional match in Portugal although Bayern are unmanaged now they weren't during the match and with the likes of Henry in the German team and with them in 3rd place behind Benfica it was clear things won't be easy but a goal in the 31 min and a man of the match perfomance from their keeper Timo Hildebrand ensured that Benfica will win their third straight game 1-0 and with Atletico manging to lose in spain 1-2 with goals from Wome and frings with owen scoring a late goal for Atletico ensured that Benfica would overtake Atletico into first place the table now looks something like this

DIVISION 2

P W D L F A GD PTS

1 BENFICA 12 9 0 3 23 14 9 27

2 Atlético Madrid 12 8 1 3 24 17 7 25

3 Bayern Munchen 12 6 1 5 14 15 -1 19

4 Villarreal 12 5 3 4 23 19 4 18

5 Ajax Amsterdam 12 5 2 5 21 23 -2 17

6 Manchester United 12 4 4 4 10 08 2 16

7 Liverpool 12 4 4 4 14 17 -3 16

8 Internazionale 12 4 3 5 22 21 1 15

9 Lyon 12 1 5 6 15 21 -6 8

10 SV Werder Bremen 12 2 1 9 11 22 -11 7

With 8 games reamining and the top 3 getting promoted it looks like a close thing with Bayern,Villarreal and Ajax all Unmanaged.

Horrible End To A Great Season For Valencia

The biggest blow for the team today came when Torres went down with an injury and has been said by team doctors he will miss 4 weeks of action.Along with the Torres injury the team was only able to come away with a draw in a much needed must win situation. The team was tied for first place with Chelsea whom won today and have now moved into first place two point ahead of Valencia. Valencia now needs a Chelsea loss and a Valencia win to take the league.Valencia can do no worst then second place even if they lose.

It has been a great two season regardless under Havoc,in the first season he managed to finish second and get promoted to Division 1.And since being in Division 1 the team has managed to knock off top teams and only lose two games.

Adam, you have 6 teams open, all good sides with good players

Lyon vs Benfica

Gerland-28,727

This match was going to decided if Benfica go to the next division,And so in the 24th minute Quaresma shot a miss-hit shot that squirmed under the keeper body.25 minutes later Baptista capitalized from a mix-up in midfield to run through confidently slam a low shot past the advancing keeper and after alot of missed chances from both sides Simao put the game beyond lyon with a third in the 58th minute. So now Benfica have qualifed to div 1

Re: Adam avfc's World Elite

Done it all in this setup Adam, won it,been promoted and have a great manager rating so i am dropping my team as i notice you have dropped your Bayern Munchen in my setup.Along with at least 9 teams being open kinda tough to make some deals.

Even made the list for Best Manager rating in a custom setup Top 25, think highest i got was 22nd with a 3.4 something with this team.So good luck to whom ever snatches Valencia up, not the best team rating wise bu they have quality and i kinda geared them towards Spanish Talent, such as Villa,Torres,Silva,Zapator,Albiol etc...

I believe Cally had them for season 1 before me, i took them over in season 2 when they where in division 2, got promoted then won division 1 in season 3, season 4 is just about to start

They have 32 mil to spend

Cheers and Good Luck to the rest of you in this setup

Re: Adam avfc's World Elite

Tom Pham Replaces Havoc

Vietnamese manager Tom Pham replaces legend Havoc at the Mestella. Havoc was too busy to continue to manage Valencia so his assistant manager Tom Pham took charge. He is very happy to do so and has already signed three new players.

Oleksandr Hladkyi-5.9M

Antonio Di Natale-8M

Craig Gordon-12M

Total: 25.9M

Tom Pham has spent almost 26M on three good additions to the team. Antonio Di Natale will be starting alongside David Villa until Fernando Torres returns from injury. Craig Gordon is substitute for Santiago Canizares and will play in cup games. Oleksandr Hladkyi is a star for the future and will be playing a few cup games.

His first game was a success too when he beat rivals Atletico Madrid 1-0 at the Vicente Calderon getting them upto 3rd after a dissappointing 2-2 draw against Barcelona. Both teams had many shots but only one of them ended up in the net when Arouna Kone scored the winning goal in the 84th minute which gained all three points for the away side. Man of the Match went to goalkeeper Santiago Canizares.

Tom Pham was interviewed by Valencia TV after the game.

VTV: Hello Tom, how do you think your team is doing?

TP: Great start to my career with a win but it's only one game and we have got another sixteen to play.

VTV: Your signings?

TP: Quality players. Antonio Di Natale will be starting alongside David Villa until Fernando Torres returns from injury. Craig Gordon is substitute for Santiago Canizares and will play in cup games. Oleksandr Hladkyi is a star for the future and will be the next Shevchencko and will be playing a few cup games. I saw him train a few weeks ago at Kharkiv and was very impressed.

VTV: What tactics are you going to play?

TP: Since everybody can find out, I'm going to play 4-4-2 diamond or the old 4-1-2-1-2. I am very impressed with the training progress and how we are playing with that team. I chose that tactic because we got cover in every position even in DM and AM.

VTV: Thank you and we will interview you again soon.

Re: Adam avfc's World Elite

Lyon's new formation for this season seems to be working to plan, as the club sit surprisingly in 3rd place, with 2 wins and a loss from the first 3 games.

All 3 games have finished with a scoreline of 3 - 2, Bayern Munchen winning against Lyon on the opening day, followed up by wins over Spurs and Werder Bremen.

George admits though he just wants to see the side get back into division 1, after relegation in the first season.

The 3 seasons that followed, all saw Lyon finish in the bottom 3 of divison 2, but that looks like it will be different this year.

Tonight, it's an away trip to Spain to face Villarreal in the cup. The strongest side available will play, as they hope to have a successful season all round.

Sanli Tuncay, Sebastien Squillaci and Jeremy Toulalan all miss the game after sending off's in the previous match.

Their places are taken by Toto Tamuz, Rio Mavuba and Gerard Pique.

Re: Adam avfc's World Elite

Valencia Unbeaten!

English Edition

While Roald Koeman is struggling with a very strong Valencia in real life, Tom Pham has shown the Valencia board that he has been the right choice after all.

Since Tom Pham joined the club, Valencia have played twice and won twice, both games played away from the Mestella.

The first game was against Teje's Atletico Madrid and it was a success too when he beat rivals Atletico Madrid 1-0 at the Vicente Calderon. Both teams had many shots but only one of them ended up in the net when Arouna Kone scored the winning goal in the 84th minute which seized all three points for the away side. Man of the Match went to goalkeeper Santiago Canizares. Both Kone and Joaquin got warnings from the referee.

The second game Tom Pham in charge was against Leigh's Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. More than 58000 fans crowded at the Emirates to see their team lose to Valencia. Everything was on Valencia's side and it looked like a one-sidded game. Finally, the faithful fans who came from Spain got their reward when defender Pablo Ibanez who volleys the ball into the back of the net after a poor clearance from the Arsenal back line. Just 22 minutes into the second half, Spanish midfielder Mikel Arteta, who was bought from Everton in the second season for a fee of 16M, scores the winning goal. Man of the Match went to Pablo Ibanez. David Albelda got a yellow card after a bad challenge.

After the game, SMTV caught up with captain David Albelda and interviewed the Spanish defensive midfielder.

SMTV: Hello David, how happy are you after today's win.

DA: Very happy, my team played very well, scoring twice and gaining all three points.

SMTV: What about your yellow card?

DA: I was a bit hot tempered that time but it's going to be fine.

SMTV: What do you think of the manager?

DA: Lucky I am not playing under Koeman, but Pham. He is great and his tactics are wonderful.

SMTV: Thank you and good luck.

DA: Thank you.

Next match is against Real Madrid at the Mestella.

Valencia Keep All Three Points At Home!

English Edition

Third game in charge for manager Tom Pham but also first game at home for the manager. Only one change made to the team and right winger Sanchez Joaquin sits out this game as Vicente Rodriguez replaces him. There was a clear problem with the match engine when the stats said that I had five shots, all on target, but it seems like there were about 10 shots and 7 of them went wide!

An early first goal by Valencia when left winger Vicente Rodriguez nods home after a diving header. Great effort from the winger which gets him his first goal of the campaign. Many chances pass by easily in front of the attacker's boot and the first half ended 1-0 for the home side.

The second half was more exciting and David Beckham equalized for Real Madrid when he heads home from a corner from Guti. But soon after, before the Real players were knowing what was happening, David Silva chipped the ball over Victor Valdes and regains the lead for the home side. The game ended 2-1 for Valencia.

This win was Valencia's third win in four games, staying in second place and it is also three out of three under Tom Pham's reign.

Manager blasts Crouch and Bellamy!

The manager had a good long talk after Liverpool went down 2-0 to Valencia

in a game that was otherwise balanced everywhere but the goals as Bellamy and Crouch managed to waste a number of good chances as Valencia cashed in on theirs....

The game was close than the scoreline suggested but the liverpool manager conceded that Valencia deserved to win.."When your players miss chances like those you cant say you deserved to win!"

Bellamy is up for sale immediately...he has been told to go home and pack his bags  and expect the transfer any time now

Valencia Progress To Quarter Finals

Valencia have progressed to the quarter finals of the cup after beating English giants Liverpool 2-0 at the Mestella. Almost 55,000 fans filled up the stadium and came to see their home team beat Liverpool. It was an exciting match with many chances.

The first half was truly disappointment to the fans. Chances passed as all the players from both sides couldn't capitalize. The closest chance came when David Albelda whacked the ball over the bar when in front of him was an open net. There were chances for Vicente, Bellamy, Xabi Alonso, Di Natale... but they all missed.

The second half was an improvement for Valencia when finally in the 55th minute, Italian striker Antonio Di Natale scores an easy goal when a terrible back pass from Liverpool falls short. Then, just four minutes from time, Spanish striker who later received the Man of the Match award, David Villa scores the winning goal after great passing from the Spanish team. The game ended 2-0 for Valencia.

David Silva Nets Double!

The Spanish left winger nets a double as Valencia thrash AS Roma 4-0 and take first place from Roma with 14 points.

This game was totally Valencia's, and Tom Pham still keeps an unbeaten record since joining the club. In six games in charge at the Mestella for six games, he has won five and drawn the other. Valencia held the ball 58% of the time, shot ten times while Roma only had six and scored four.

The first half was the goalscoring half for the Spanish side as they netted in three of the four goals. Goals came from Jose Fernando Torres, his first of the season in his first game getting his 15th Valencia goal in 27 matches. David Silva then found the net twice in the 30th and 44th minute getting his ninth and tenth Valencia goal his career and becoming the first Valencia player to score a brace. First half ended 3-0

The second half was finished off early as Sanchez Joaquin scored Valencia's fourth goal of the night and he also ended the game early as he got carried off because of an injury that will leave him out for ten days. MoM went to goalkeeper Santiago Canizares

Arteta Sees Red, Valencia Still Wins!

Valencia travel to the Stadium of Light to meet hosts Benfica in the seventh round of the league. After winning the game, the team stays in first place with 17 points, three clear of second place.

Both Valencia and Benfica limited their opponent's attacks when Valencia had twelve while Benfica only managed to have half the amount of that. The first half was a half full of misses when both teams missed very easy chances as well as the two stoppers playing very well espescially Santiago Canizares, who blocked three dangerous chances in the opening ten minutes. The first half ended 0-0.

The second half was a lot more interesting and finally, the goal came when Spanish striker Jose Fernando Torres wrong footed his marker and scores a wonderful goal with excellent composure. The goal shows his great value. Just six minutes later, attacking midfielder Mikel Arteta nods the ball home after a great placed cross by the winger. Mikel Arteta later turned from hero to zero when he got sent off after a disgraceful tackle. Terrible, after just getting back on the team. Man of the Match went to goalscorer Fernando Torres.

AJAX OF AMSTERDAM

Ajax tonight celebrated there first win under new coach Friel defeating unmanaged Bayern Munich by 1 goal to nil.

The match could have gone either way in all honesty but Ajax were still not at 100% and somehow managed to snatch the win.

A goal from Klaas-Jan HUNTELAAR on the 25th minute was enough to secure the clubs 1st three points in 7 games Ajax had previously played 630 minutes

of football without picking up points.

The club are now off the bottom of the table and are looking to keep pushing for a top half finish although at this point it may just be out of reach.

Friel spoke to the media after the game and stated that he is working harder than ever with his players trying to keep morale high while they go through this troubling time.
