The Bluebirds have re-found their goal scoring form and netted six times in last nights match. Cardiff played some great football at times, making Watford look very average. A good performance was needed aswel as the result following the disappointing midweek loss to Leicester.

Aron Gunnarsson is quickly making himself a fan favourite following his move to Cardiff from Coventry City and he was named man of the match for his outstanding performance. He is filling in for Cardiff's suspended club captain, Joey Ledley and is certainly stepping up to the challenge of filling his boots.

Winston is hopeful of more wonderful performances like the one last night. He also continues to strengthen the squad. Alot of youth players are getting time to prove themselves as transfers have been slow. Winston is not worried about this as he feels the players will be better for it.

10 man Bluebirds hold on to win against Albion

M. CHOPRA (43)

Michael Chopra is finding his goal scoring touch once again after going a few games without getting a chance. As the new players at Cardiff are finding their feet, they are providing the chances for Chopra and now, he is thriving.

Cardiff took the lead in tonights game just before half time when CHopra pounced on a short backpass by the Albion defender and finished well past the on-rushing goalkeeper.

Crdiff made hard work for themselves though. The last half an hour of the game was a case of holding off the attacks from West Brom as they were reduced to 10 men. Northern Irish goal machine, Rory Patterson was sent off for a really nasty tackle which meant his team had to try and survive for the rest of the game. Luckily, they managed that and kept in touch with their hopes of automatic promotion.

Cagliari Beat Udinese To Go 4th, 3 Points From Top Spot Juve

After Cagliari Calcio kept Internazionale FC At Bay midweek in a 1-1 draw momentum was high in the Cagliari camp. As They sat in 6th spot in Serie A they travelled to struggling Udinese, but despite sruggling Udinese had hit a bit of form. Cagliari who's chairman had expectation of Avoiding Relegation at the start of Justice's Era in charge, and surely there chairman must surely be very happy with Justice's Start as hes sitting in Champions League Spots and in the Italian Shield Quarter Final's after thumping Brescia 8-0 in the Previous round they face Bologna in the Quarter Final's. So far so good for Cagliari but its still VERY early days. In Form Alessandro Matri was a big help in the great start for Caglari aswell as Cup Star Borini who is currently on-loan from English Premier League Side Chelsea FC.

Cagliari took a very early lead after just a minute going 1-0 up then just moments later striking again to go 2-0 up after only 2 minutes what an estonoshing start from Cagliari, leaving Udinese shellshocked and with ALOT of work to do with 88 minutes left of the game alot can still happen the tables could turn. but then in the 22nd minute Caglari made it from bad to worst for Udinese by going 3 up via a goal from Biodini surely that was game over For Udinese. Half time was apon us as Cagliari went in at half time with alot of confidence maybe too much. Many Udinese Fans had seen enough as they booed off theyre team at half time and many left, but boy would they regret it. Despite Caglari going a further goal ahead 4-0, an amazing display a tad to late from Udinese they got the game to 4-3 but couldnt quite get that 4th goal.

Cardiff have moved second in the Championship after last nights crushing win over Reading. The Bluebirds were behind the London based team before last nights fixture but that soon changed, nine goals later.

Michael Chopra, who is playing out of his skin at the moment grabbed the man of the match award following his four goals. Cardiff were 2-1 down at the time so they needed the influential striker to do what he does best and he didn't disappoint.

Cardiff are proving to be hard to stop this season and Winston is very positive about an automatic promotion this season. He is continuing to strengthen the squad but funds are limited and he is working on a 'sell to buy' scheme. Not the best but progress is being made.

Cardiff lose 3-0 to Preston. :(

Very frustrating. Still trying to strengthen. Need defenders quite desperate. Things are developing nicely though. Apart from missing out on a few targets due to delays in external/unmanaged clubs bidding for my players.

Following Wednesday's loss, Cardiff were looking to bounce right back and continue their great scoring form. Last night proved to be another goal fest. Cardiff have scored so many goals this season already and look set to continue as the talent they have is quite superb.

Michael Chopra earned the man of the match award last night. There were a few candidates that could have been awrded that prize, none more so than on loan striking legend, Pippo Inzaghi. The Italian target-man netted his first goal for Cardiff last night and is hoping to extend his loan spell and continue to help with the promotion push.

Chelsea Loanee Sends Calgari To The Semi's

Calgari's brilliant Run of Form in all competitions continued as they beat Bologna 2-1 to get a tie with Palermo in the Semi Final's, there run in the compatition is much thanks to on laon Chelsea striker Fabio Borini who has scored an impressive 5 goals in 4 Cup Games and 1 Goal in 1 league game, its rumoured he could make his loan move a perminant one sooner rather than later, the 19 year old Italian Striker got the two desisive goals which took Calgari into the Cup Semi's where if they beat Plaermo they could face either Genoa or Frosoine who beat Juventus 3-0 on penalties cuasing a big cup shock, but before thinking of the final or even the Semi's Calgari will turn there attention back to Serie A as this Wednesday they face AS Roma, after Calgari held Juventus to a 1-1 draw as the weekend and getting to the Semi's Calgari will be very positive oging into the game. Calgari are 4th after the draw but just 3 points off top they will look to continue there run of 9 games unbeaten in all competitions, only losing 2 games out of 15 they couldnt really of dreamed of a better start under new manager Nick Justice!

Cardiff looked a class above Ipswich tonight at the Cardiff City Stadium. They out-played their opponents in every area. Michael Chopra is a hero to the locals in the Welsh capital and it was no suprise that he scored both goals in tinights game. The striker is on fire, netting his 13th goal of the season in 12 games.

Re: Gold Championship 98 - Match and Transfer Reports thread

Just seen it. Problem is, Gago is my only CM and Marcelo is staying for the time being as strangely he is my top scorer.

Perhaps when my squad gets a little bigger I can let one of them go, as I am interested in Ibisevic.

Intrested in Gago/Marcelo' date=' but doubt anyone I Could Offer tbh :([/quote']

Re: Gold Championship 98 - Match and Transfer Reports thread

Awesome cheating or idiotizm Javi Martinez getting sold to Palermo for 86 and 87 rated players while non of them are very good, and A MINIMUM cash amount.

While it wouldn't look fishy, I've offered Mexes like week ago, and he didn't even bothered to respond

Re: Gold Championship 98 - Match and Transfer Reports thread

U.S. Città di Palermo

m.jpg

Took over as manager of Palermo on March 11th and our league form hasn't been great since my arrival. We are currently 7th in the league with 2 tough games remaining against Siena and Genoa. If we can win one of those matches then we'll secure SMFA Shield football next season but if we fail we could potentially drop as low as 10th which wouldn't be good enough for SMFA Shield qualification. With Siena, Fiorentina and Internazionale below me this scenario is a distinct possibility. Just got to cross my fingers and hope my players can perform for just one game. Some improvements have been made to the squad since I arrived at the club.

Scott Dann

18899_1275140601.jpg

Signed from Birmingham City for £7.2M to provide cover for first choice central defenders Simon Kjaer and Cesare Bovo.

Pablo Armero

26502_1252916686.jpg

Signed from Fenerbache for £8.5M to provide cover for first choice left back Federico Balzaretti. He's an improving young player though so it might not be long before he forces his way into our first choice XI.

Stefan Reinartz

35054_1294494506.jpg

Signed from Bayer Leverkusen for £14.8M and like Scott Dann he was also signed to provide cover for our first choice central defenders. An absolute quality player who's sure to move up the pecking order sooner or later.

Roberto Rosales

29070_1268657399.jpg

Signed from FC Twente for £6.6M to provide cover for Mattia Cassani at right back. Has been a strong performer in the Dutch league this season and should receive a little rise next time he's rated.

Olivier Sorin

6196_1263934148.jpg

Signed for £7M from AJ Auxerre as our new number two. Was simply signed as a better quality backup to what we already had. Will be understudy to Silvatore Sirigu.
