Birmingham Manager

Characture Of Jack Yesterday

After supposedly agreeing a 3 part deal with Birmingham Manager Sean Cox before the Transfer Window opened, Sean Cox backed out of all 3 deals after previously saying "I dont back out, I hate people who do that". The new Celtic Gaffer had this to say on the matter "I am furious that Sean Cox went behind my back even though we had a deal agreed in writing and i would strongly advise any manager to Not to do deals with this man". As you can see Jack is outraged at the Birmingham Manager, but he later went on to say that all of the team is up for sale so if any of the squad tickle your fancy make a bid or PM him.

Exeter City - Latest News:

268_front_small.png0,,10794~3734910,00.gif1_front_small.png

'We will stay up'

That is the message from Exeter City's new manager after being told to avoid relegation this season. After 2 successive promotions, City now find themselves in Division 3 and up against the likes of Nottingham Forest, Southampton, Derby and Norwich, as well as the derby game against Plymouth that the fans have been waiting for. With the lowest amount of cash in the division, as well as a small squad that needs improvement, it will be a challenge but one that everybody at Exeter looks forward to. And with an impressive away support, the club have asked the fans to get behind the team at home as well and give the players the support they need.

sgssffsdhfsdh.jpg

Taylor to stay as captain

taylorb.jpg

Matt Taylor will stay as captain despite the arrival of 3 new CB's at the club. The news was confirmed today after rumours suggested he would be sold, but this was dismissed by the new manager who said;

Matt will stay at Exeter for as long as he likes, we have no intention of selling him and never will. Whilst the arrivals of new players mean that he might not start every week, he is still a vital player at this club and will continue to captain the side. To think that just a few years ago, he was playing non-league as a goalkeeper, the step up he has made to prove himself at higher levels as center-back with Exeter is incredible. With him as captain, this team can go further up the football league and there's no reason why that can't happen this year.

All 3 keepers to get their chance...

marriott.jpg

Andy Marriott, Paul Jones, and new signing Anders Lindegaard will all get the chance to be first choice keeper for the season, and have 3 games each to prove why they should be it! It hasn't been decided in which order yet, but Marriott, Jones and Lindegaard will each play in 3 of the first 9 games of the season. After that, it will be decided who is first choice, with Lindegaard currently the favourite.

Transfers In:

As already mentioned, keeper Anders Lindegaard has joined the club from Aalesunds FK. A fee of £900k was higher than Exeter had hoped, but offers were made by Greenock Morton and Rotherham which forced the club to increase the bid.

With City short on CB's, they moved quickly to sign 2 permanently and 1 on loan. Martin Kelly joins on loan from Liverpool and can also play at right-back if needed, and the 19 year old is expected to be a key player this year. Jasmin Sudic and Ismael Benegas also join, with the talented Sudic coming from Malmo for £800k, and Benegas joining from Paraguayan side Libertad for £375k.

In midfield, a surprise signing of Ajax youngster Daley Blind was completed today, for just £700k. Blind is on loan to FC Groningen where he is starting to impress, and City's offer for the 19 year old was accepted within minutes. He's likely to start in a defensive midfield role, but can also play anywhere in defence. Other signings in this area were Jeison Candado, Wilson Albornoz, Lukas Van Eeno and Carlos Lizarazo.

With 3 Colombians already signed, 2 more were added to the long list of strikers. Fernando Uribe joins for £700k from Pereira despite interest from Greenock Morton, Notts County and Siena, whilst Orlando Berrio completed a £200k move from Atlético Nacional after turning down Plymouth.

blind.jpg

Transfers Out:

So far just the one player has left the club, with Stuart Fleetwood moving to Barnet for £650k. Others set to leave soon are Bertie Cozic, Alex Russell, Neil Saunders, Marcus Stewart and Craig McAllister who have all been transfer listed. More are likely to leave as others arrive, although it's unlikely to happen before the season's opener at home to Oldham.

Future Transfers?

No names have been confirmed but Exeter have admitted they have a list of potential signings and hope to make moves for some soon. With 2 loans still available, one is likely to be used on a winger, with none currently in the squad making it a position that needs sorting.

Next Update - Friday/Saturday.

Stockport Dream Again!

_44690694_stockfans_pa300.jpg

New Boss = New Hope: Fortunes Change At Edgeley

In a remarkable afternoon, Stockport County appointed E.Sutcliffe as manager for the new season. The young boss has a wealth of experience, best known for the incredible job achieved with Rochdale in EC106. Whilst a host of clubs chased Sutcliffe, the local lad, born and bred in Hazel Grove, Stockport chose his new home as his old home effectively. County fans could not have been more pleased. Best known for being both outspoken and eccentric, Sutcliffe has built up a reputation as a winner both on the pitch and off the pitch. In his time with Rochdale, Sutcliffe met current girlfriend Paris Hilton (below), after an alleged orgy with 7 celebrity girls following the celebrations after promotion to Division 3. With this reputation, comes immense pressure, and the decision to accept the County job, will come as a surprise to most.

Logo_Daily_Mirror.jpg

Sutcliffe's Secret Is Out

061109_pugdiltondunzo.jpg

It's Paris!

Well the speculation is over and the newspapers put down their pens....for now. Paris Hilton's agent, today has exposed the new celebrity couple, claiming "Paris is Sutcliffe's girl" The Daily Mirror can be the first to confirm the news, having got in contact with Paris' people earlier today. Paper talk has been hectic this last week, with everyone claiming a different story, but we have evidence (above) and a quote that blows everything else out of the water. Will this be the end of that then? Probably not. Paris is 11 years Sutcliffe's senior, and eyebrows will be raised as to why she carried on from that night on December 27th. The young Rochdale manager has had his reputation tarnished, and eyebrows are being raised as to why he has continued this relationship now, with Season 10 approaching this Saturday. One thing is for sure, EC106 has it's first celebrity couple, and now that the secret is out, the big question, is what happens next? Can Paris keep her dignity and let the Rochdale boss get on with his work? Will she distract him? How long will it last? All eyes, are on SM's David and Victoria. Good or bad? Time will tell....

300.Reinhardt.Doug.Hilton.Paris.082108.jpg

Sutcliffe (left) is officially dating Paris Hilton (right)

Paris' Agent Said: "Paris is Sutcliffe's girl. It seems they both hit it off during and after what the press like to call "orgy-gate" and they have spent all their time together since. There is no point hiding it. The press love them both, so they'll be captured together soon for sure."

Whilst his genius on the field is likely to be welcomed, his antics off it will not be welcome, and it is likely the board will request a quiet start as County look to hit the ground running. The clubs off field problems have been highlighted in recent weeks, and most thought they would not have a club to support this season. However Sutcliffe, who is close to Sale Sharks owner's son, Dan, has come to an agreement with the Kennedy's to move Sale elsewhere, leaving County with their home again. Most say Sutcliffe offered both son and father one of the many girls he has been linked with in the past. Sutcliffe famously slept with Amanda Bynes whilst with Paris, and infamously introduced new City manager JakeA to Katie Price whilst they were both in EC106. However he has managed it, County will be forever grateful even to stay in Division 4 this year. Sutcliffe has set his heights higher. He has already signed two young British defenders, Ryan Bennett and Steven Caulker from Peterborough and Yeovil respectively. This deals are seen as major coups by the young manager, who believes the 19 and 18 year olds are amongst the best young talents in the country...

1249743525_spt_ai_YeovilvTranmere_01.jpg1237323659_spt_ai_luton_grimsby_04.jpg

Caulker and Bennett (both center) have done the business in the Lower Leagues

With deals for both Kyle Benidictus and young South African Kamohelo Mahoto sewn up, Sutcliffe is confident of more deals later this week. Stockport have been linked with a whole host of names including former strikers Liam Dickinson and Glenn Murray, aswell as a numerous amount of Rochdale players for whom Sutcliffe might look to cherry pick if at all possible. County's first game of the season is against Hartlepool away on Saturday. The new boss gave a quick statement outside the ground with girlfriend Paris by his side....

paris-hilton-and-boyfriend-doug-reinhardt-2-333x500.jpg

Sutcliffe had time to speak after taking his first training session with his new side...

Sutcliffe Said:

Obviously, I was a little sad to leave Rochdale as I had done my bit there and I loved every minute of it. I'm hungry for a new challenge and despite Paris' plea to go abroad, I thought it would be another chance to give something back, by joining my hometown club. They need the help as seriously they have been struggling of late, but it's time to get them back on the map. I remember the days of Chris Armstrong and Chris Beaumont in 95/96 when this side were in the 1st. Or even the days of Dickinson, Rowe and Gleeson, when we were beating Rochdale for League 1 at Wembley. It's time to put County back where they belong, and with the squad I've got, I believe I can do that. There will be one or two additions in the near future but I'm happy as I am right now, and having the likes of David Perkins, Liam Bridcutt, and Paul Huntington already at the club, makes my job a lot easier. We are certainly not favourites, but I'm gonna give it a right go. With Paris by my side, I feel lucky...

Latest Manchester City News

Their are some news to come out of City in these last few days. City secured their first signing of the season, Stevan Jovetic who signed from Italian club Fiorentina in a deal which saw Welsh striker Craig Bellamy and flamboint winger Adam Johnson, a hefty price for a great rising player. Roque Santa Cruz, who was transfer listed by Manchester City when their new manager SirJake arrived is still yet to find a new home, Sunderland are said to be very keen on the Paraguayian striker, will Santa Cruz have a new club before Saturday's clash at Eastlands against London outfit also top 4 hoefuls Arsenal.

adebayor_tevez_1484264d.jpg

A shock break up on the park at Eastlands?

Tabloids have had a field day today, both Carlos Tevez and Emmanuel Adebayor have both been linked with moves out of Eastlands after joining just 1 season ago. It is thought that their was big interest on Carlos Tevez, Villarreal were said to be very keen on the Argentian striker but it is now doubtful that the 26 year old will depart Eastlands. Another player, Emmanuel Adebayor, it is expected an unknown club enquired about the availibility of the Togo striker but Adebayor today has made it clear he will be at City for at least another season.

Michael_Johnson_620909.jpg

Johnson - "I'm happy at City"

Today to top off all the story's at City central midfielder Michael Johnson has made it clear he is currently very happy at Manchester City and has no intentions of leaving the club yet. Johnson has attracted attention from many clubs, Bristol City and Dutch side Groningen just two of the few that are interested in the 21 year old. Johnson has been hit with bad injuries lately but now being given the all clear he looks to regain that first place spot in the City side, can you see Johnson taking the place of Ireland or De Jong? The plot thickens...

What the manager has to say

We have tonight caught up with the Manchester City manager after his 2 full days in charge of the richest club in the world. We spoke to City manager SirJake ahead of his teams clash with Arsenal on Saturday night as City will be hoping to get off to a good start and how does he find the transfer market?

"Hi, I am very pleased to manage the club I have followed all my life and supported. What else could you hope for? Also a massive league to compete in, it will be a very tough season for everyone I think. Arsenal are a very good side managed by a very good manager, I hope to pick the right tactics to beat Arsenal and as we are th home side, I feel we have the slight advantage. I just hope we avoid a loss, the last thing we want is to get of to a bad start."

"Well the market, we have only done 1 transfer and that is wonderkid Stevan Jovetic so I can't really comment on it but by the looks of some deals that have gone through, it looks like another high spending window with lots of teams getting their last minute deals before the start of the season. I also do have my targets, it's just the matter of fact whether we can come to deals with any other manager really, some of the offers you get are laughable but you then know what managers not to deal with, thanks."

Week 1 Matchup to Watch

260px-SS_Lazio.pngVS 100px-Udinese_calcio.png

SS Lazio VS Udinese Calcio

You might be asking is any game really worth "watching". It's the first week of a long long season to come. But aside from hopefull scuddeto implications what else does this game have to offer? or any for that matter. Udinese finished last season in 7th and Lazio 10th. Looking at Italy Inter are still the team to beat however after that things get a little mixed together. Milan, Juventus, and Lazio's in city rivals Roma are regarded as the next four but a major knock here or there could cause mayhem in Seria A. After this we find these two teams who try and come into this season and completely mess up the norm.

Atonio Di Natale will be lining up in a new uniform this season. After capping 179 games for Udinese and scoring 71 goals he finds himself in the eternal city lining up against his former team in the first match of the season. Di Natale was sent to Lazio for two strikers Tommaso Rocchi and Sergio Floccari. These are the only two players that Udinese has brought in for the new season, however SS Lazio also announced another huge signing. Also Italian national team striker Alberto Gilardino has moved to SS Lazio in hopes of forming one of the most potent attacks in Seria A.

Prediction: Lazio 1 - Udinese 0

More Transfer Happenings At Fulham

Tamas Vasko, Petter Vaagen Moen, Paul Anderson All In

-----

Tamas Vasko

TamasVasko_2404323.jpg

Tamas Vasko has joined on a 2 year contract from Hungarian outfit 'Ujpest' for just 2.6 million pounds.

The Hungarian international has gained 12 caps for Hungary, and, at 6'4'', the 26 year old is sure to push for a place in defence.

Petter Vaagen Moen

2657126_206x261.jpg

Petter Vaagen Moen also joins Fulham, this time on a 5 year contract. The Norwegian International has played and scored for Norway and has nearly 200 club caps to his name. The 26 year old can play on the left or the centre of midfield.

Paul Anderson

Paul-Anderson-Nottingham-Forest-Manchester-Ci_2308434.jpg

21 Year old Paul Anderson has joined the Premier League after finalizing a deal with Fulham. With the Fulham manager supporting Forest from a young age, he always said he had an eye on one or two of the Forest Players. Anderson began his career at Hull City before moving to Liverpool, Swansea and Forest. The young wide man could be added to the loan list with 4 wingers and a left sided midfielder already at the club making it hard for the young star to get first team action.

---------

And Finally... Rumour wise, Daniel Freidheim Holm could be joining with Fulham in dire need of Strikers. Looking at movement in the other direction, Danny Murphy, Andranik Teymourian, Damien Duff and Zoltan Gera could all be on the move with clubs putting bids in for the four men.

Zdravko Kuzmanovic and Cristian Molinaro will be heading to Schalke, in return we will be receiving German youngsters Benedikt Howedes, Joel Matip and Christoph Mortiz. Although we are losing two 89 rated platers to get an 88,82 and 75 - in the long run I feel this is a prudent deal.

To aid in the support of the first-team whilst our youngsters develop, a cash deal has also been agreed for Brazilian veteran striker, Washington, from Sao Paulo. At 34 years of age he is certainly in the twilight of his career, but will serve us well until the likes of Gebhart and Schreiber mature.
