One Month After the Argentine Review: the Keep/Sell Thread

One Month After the Argentine Review:

the Keep/Sell Thread

I keep getting requests on my Argentina thread about which players you should be keeping and which players you should be selling, as well as seeing the countless number of queries on the other Argentine threads and the brand new threads created for just an answer. So to save me some time, here, I have picked out every notable riser from the recent Argentine review and given you an indication as to whether they are worth keeping or not. If there is anyone I have missed and you would like to know whether they are worth keeping, then don't hesitate to ask. Furthermore, if you have any enquiries about any player currently plying their trade in Argentina, or if you would like to know a bit more about a certain player, I shall endeavour to answer your question.

Each player has an overall verdict attached to their name and I have tried my best to cater for Gold Championship managers, or set-ups of a more competitive nature. If you are a manager competing in a regular set-up that isn't particularly active, then lean more towards the more ruthless side of my verdict. Here is how I assess each different category of my analysis:

SELL - this player is rubbish and/or has hit his maximum rating. Get rid as soon as possible, simple as.

MAYBE SELL - this player has the potential to go further in the future but it might take a while for him to hit that potential. Sell now if you can't be bothered to wait.

KEEP/SELL - this player can be kept or sold depending on the quality of your team, the standard and activity of your set-up and/or your urgency to raise some funds. You have to make a decision based on the information I'm giving you.

PATIENTLY KEEP - this player is a good player and/or a hot prospect, but he won't be rising next time. Despite this, he is worth keeping for the future if you are patient with him.

KEEP - this player will likely rise again next time and/or is a great player/hot prospect.

***MUST KEEP*** - this player is a future star. Under no circumstances should you be flogging this guy on the cheap.

Anyway, enough with the chit-chat, read away.

Argentinos Juniors:

- currently 5th

Key: Name (Position - Age) - 2010 starts(sub apps) - previous rating - current rating - next rating - verdict

Ignacio Canuto (CB/RB - 24) - 5(2) - 84 ---> 86 ---> 86 - MAYBE SELL

Has lost his place in the side during March but is more than capable of winning it back in time. Nearing maximum potential rating of 87/88 but set for a stay at the minute next time around.

Arsenal de Sarandi:

- currently 7th

Key: Name (Position - Age) - 2010 starts(sub apps) - previous rating - current rating - next rating - verdict

Claudio Mosca (CM/LM - 19) - 0(0) - 75 ---> 80 ---> 80 - PATIENTLY KEEP

Yet to figure in the Clausura, so no rise is imminent. However, he has been called up for the Argentina under-20's. Could sell in uncompetitive set-ups.

Ivan Marcone (CM - 21) - 6(1) - 75 ---> 80 ---> 83 - KEEP

Gradually becoming a more important figure for Arsenal, starting every game in March (with a record of PL5 - W4 D1 L0). Set for another small rise in the next review and capable of going further after that.

Franco Jara (Fwd - 21) - 6(3) - 80 ---> 85 ---> 85 - KEEP

Isn't enjoying as successful a Clausura as he did in the Apertura, but has already agreed a deal to join up with Benfica for the Summer. Worth keeping to see how he fits in.

Atletico Tucuman:

- currently 20th

Key: Name (Position - Age) - 2010 starts(sub apps) - previous rating - current rating - next rating - verdict

Damian Musto (CM/RM - 22) - 5(1) - 80 ---> 82 ---> 82 - SELL

Tucuman are getting relegated. Sell.

Juan Pablo Pereyra (CF - 25) - 7(0) - 80 ---> 82 ---> 82 - SELL

As above.

Banfield:

- currently 6th

Key: Name (Position - Age) - 2010 starts(sub apps)* - previous rating - current rating - next rating - verdict

* - 2010 stats include Clausura stats and Copa Libertadores stats.

Julio Barraza (RB - 30) - 11(0) - 83 ---> 86 ---> 86/87 - KEEP/SELL

Regular for the Apertura champs. Could rise to 87 next time. Keep if 86/87 is good for your squad; sell if you have better, younger prospects.

James Rodriguez (Wing/AM - 18) - 12(0) - 78 ---> 85 ---> 87 - ***MUST KEEP***

Integral figure for Banfield, both in the league and the Copa Libertadores. Immensely talented and bound to move to Europe this Summer. Strong links with Juventus.

Cristian Garcia (Fwd/Wing - 22) - 5(6) - 77 ---> 80 ---> 82 - KEEP/SELL

Very much a back-up striker who plays when Banfield field a weakened side before a Copa Libertadores game in midweek. Could see another small rise but nothing major. Keep if you have the patience to see him break through; sell if you don't.

Boca Juniors:

- currently 18th

Key: Name (Position - Age) - 2010 starts(sub apps) - previous rating - current rating - next rating - verdict

Ezequiel Munoz (CB- 19) - 6(1) - 78 ---> 82 ---> 84 - KEEP

Isn't having a great 2010 so far, but has little help around him. Might see a small rise next time with a move to Europe inevitable in the future.

Gaston Sauro (CB - 20) - 0(0) - 75 ---> 78 ---> 78 - PATIENTLY KEEP

Has been injured much of this year (I think), so hasn't played. Future first-choice CB for Boca.

Jesus Mendez (CM/DM - 25) - 8(0) - 84 ---> 86 ---> 86 - MAYBE SELL

A regular, but hasn't been the difference maker that Boca were hoping for since arriving from Central. Decent player who has potential to rise in the future, but can't see him rising next time around.

Nicolas Gaitan (Fwd/Wing - 22) - 9(0) - 85 ---> 86 ---> 87 - ***MUST KEEP***

Excellent talent with a very promising future. One of the few positive things to talk about at Boca right now. Should move to Europe this Summer, with Ajax already making formal interest. Barcelona are said to be keen.

Chacarita Juniors:

- currently 13th

Alejandro Frezotti (CM - 26) - 10(0) - 77 ---> 82 ---> 82 - SELL

Chacarita are favourites to be relegated along with Atletico Tucuman and I reckon Frezotti would go down with them.

Facundo Parra (Fwd - 24) - 11(0) - 84 ---> 85 ---> 85/86 - KEEP/SELL

Scoring for fun in the Clausura which could earn him a move to a better club if/when Chacarita get relegated. If he does move, he deserves a rise.

Diego Morales (Fwd - 23) - 10 (0) - 78 ---> 82 ---> 82 - SELL

Important figure for Chacarita and has a hand in a lot of their key plays and goals. Potential target for other clubs but I'd risk selling him.

Colon de Santa Fe:

- currently 10th

Key: Name (Position - Age) - 2010 starts(sub apps)* - previous rating - current rating - next rating - verdict

* - 2010 stats include Clausura stats and Copa Libertadores stats

Ismael Quilez (RB/RM - 21) - 1(0) - 78 ---> 83 ---> 83 - KEEP/SELL

Just one appearance in 2010, so no rise next time. Not my favourite young full-back in Argentina; maybe cash in.

Alfredo Ramirez - (CM/AM - 23) - 1(2) - 82 ---> 85 ---> 85 - MAYBE SELL

Has seen very little action this Clausura, being relegated to the subs bench. Can come back and hit a higher rating, but not much higher. No rise next time.

Facundo Bertoglio (AM/Wing - 19) - 10(1) - 75 ---> 82 ---> 85 - ***MUST KEEP***

Very talented kid with potential to become one of the top players in Argentina. Has to rise to 85/86 next time, and then further after that.

Federico Nieto (CF - 26) - 6(4) - 85 ---> 87 ---> 87 - KEEP/SELL

Might just have hit his maximum rating, although more 12-goal hauls like in the Apertura might see him surpass his current rating. Won't rise next time, should stay. Keep if 87 is good for your team; sell if you have better.

Estudiantes:

- currently 3rd

Key: Name (Position - Age) - 2010 starts(sub apps)* - previous rating - current rating - next rating - verdict

* - 2010 stats include Clausura stats and Copa Libertadores stats

Damian Albil (GK - 30) - 2(0) - 77 ---> 84 ---> 82 - SELL

Was always a stop-gap until Estu signed a number one 'keeper. They now have in the form of Agustin Orion, so Albil is back on the bench.

Federico Fernandez (CB/RB - 21) - 4(0) - 78 ---> 80 ---> 82 - PATIENTLY KEEP

Plays when Estu put their reserves out to rest the first XI. Might see another small rise next time and is the future of the Estu defence. However, it could take a few years before he usurps any of the current first-teamers.

Marcos Rojo (CB/LB - 20) - 4(6) - 75 ---> 80 --> 82 - PATIENTLY KEEP

Similar predicament to Fernandez, but possibly half a step ahead in the pecking order.

Maximiliano Nunez (Wing/AM - 23) - 8(6) - 76 ---> 80 ---> 84 - KEEP

Seeing a fair bit of action this term, although a sub for Estu's most important matches (Copa Libertadores). Will rise next time towards 83/84.

Mauro Boselli - (CF - 24) - 13(1) - 88 ---> 89 ---> 89/90 - KEEP

Absolute goal machine, with 12 in 12 starts in 2010. Could very well hit 90 next time, but he may just get snapped up in the Summer.

Gimnasia La Plata:

- currently 14th

Key: Name (Position - Age) - 2010 starts(sub apps) - previous rating - current rating - next rating - verdict

Milton Casco (RB/LB - 21) - 1(0) - 75 ---> 78 ---> 78 - SELL

Won't be rising next time and could GLP could be getting relegated.

Luciano Aued (LM/CM - 23) - 9(0) - 75 ---> 82 ---> 82/84 - KEEP/SELL

Very much depends on GLP's end to the season. If they stay up, Aued rises. If they go down, then he doesn't. If you have the patience, wait a couple of months to see what happens to them.

Lucas Nahuel Castro (RM - 20) - 2(8) - 75 ---> 81 ---> 81 - SELL

Same situation as Casco, although Castro has more chance of a rise if they stay up.

Denis Stracqualursi (CF - 22) - 11(0) - 75 ---> 82 ---> 82/84 - KEEP/SELL

Same situation as Aued, but I really like this guy. He has a bright future as an 86/87 CF in SM at the least in my opinion. Keep if you're patient.

Godoy Cruz:

- currently 2nd

Key: Name (Position - Age) - 2010 starts(sub apps) - previous rating - current rating - next rating - verdict

Ariel Rojas (CM/LM - 24) - 11(0) - 82 ---> 84 ---> 85/86 - KEEP

A key figure for a Godoy side who are doing fantastically well in the Clausura. If they keep up their current form, then he'll hit the upper bracket of my prediction.

Carlos Sanchez (CM/RM - 25) - 7(1) - 78 ---> 80 ---> 83 KEEP

Has done well since joining from Uruguay and shall see a decent rise next time around.

Jesus Vera (Fwd - 20) - 0(0) - 74 ---> 77 ---> 77 - MAYBE SELL

Don't know what he's doing but he's not playing and a fair way down the pecking order.

Huracan:

- currently 9th

Key: Name (Position - Age) - 2010 starts(sub apps) - previous rating - current rating - next rating - verdict

Gaston Monzon (GK - 22) - 11(0) - 83 ---> 84 ---> 84 - KEEP/SELL

Nearing the limit of his short-term rating of 85/86. With age and experience he could go further but I'd seriously consider selling.

Ezequiel Filippetto (CB/RB - 22) - 6(2) - 76 ---> 82 ---> 83 - KEEP/SELL

Probably in line for a small rise next time, but it may very well be worth cashing in.

Kevin Cura (CB/LB - 19) - 0(2) - 77 ---> 79 ---> 79 - PATIENTLY KEEP

Shall not rise next time. Worth sticking with for now.

Patricio Toranzo (AM/RM - 28) - 11(0) - 83 ---> 85 ---> 86 - KEEP

Key player for Huracan and has already been linked with a Summer move to Independiente. Worth hanging on to.

Luciano Nieto (Fwd - 19) - 2(7) - 75 ---> 78 ---> 80 - PATIENTLY KEEP

Still very young and very raw but a good prospect nonetheless.

Independiente:

- currently 1st

Key: Name (Position - Age) - 2010 starts(sub apps) - previous rating - current rating - next rating - verdict

Adrian Gabbarini (GK - 24) - 11(0) - 70 ---> 83 ---> 86 - KEEP

Undisputed number one for El Rojo, and not a bad 'keeper either. Should hit 86 next time and can go further than that afterwards.

Luciano Vella (RB/28) - 9(0) - 82 ---> 84 ---> 86 - KEEP/SELL

Regular for Inde at RB but is a steady player at best - nothing special. Will probably rise to 86/85 next time, but sell if that's little benefit to you.

Leonel Galeano (CB - 18) - 11(0) - 75 ---> 84 - ***MUST KEEP***

Fantastic defender for his age and holds a big future. Will hit 86 mimimum next time and is a must to move to Europe eventually.

Federico Mancuello (LM/CM - 21) - 7(0) - 83 ---> 85 ---> 86 - KEEP

Good little player who could rise next time, but nothing more than to 86. Definately worth hanging on to, but maybe cash in to external in uncompetetive set-ups.

Walter Busse (CM/AM - 23) - 7(0) - 82 ---> 85 ---> 85 - SELL

Was a regular before he sustained a very serious injury against Chacarita, which will keep him out for much of the rest of 2010. Can't see him rising at all in the next two changes, possibly even dropping.

Patricio Rodriguez (AM/Fwd - 19) - 0(8) - 77 ---> 82 ---> 82 - PATIENTLY KEEP

Great talent but is being bedded in very slowly - no starts in the Clausura. Still has a lot of work to do before fulfilling his huge potential.

Dario Gandin (CF - 26) - 11(0) - 85 ---> 87 ---> 87/88 - KEEP/SELL

First choice for Inde and a frequent goalscorer. If he can end the Clausura strongly, he could very well see a rise to 88. At worst, a very solid 87 but you could sell if you have better prospects.

Lanus:

- currently 12th

Key: Name (Position - Age) - 2010 starts(sub apps)* - previous rating - current rating - next rating - verdict

* - 2010 stats include Clausura stats and Copa Libertadores stats

Agustin Marchesin (GK - 21) - 14(0) - 76 ---> 82 ---> 85 - KEEP

Not my favourite 'keeper, but he is still young and learning his trade. Regular in the league and the Copa Libertadores and on course to hit 85/86 next time around.

Hernan Grana (RB - 24) - 9(2) - 80 ---> 84 ---> 86 - KEEP

Good full-back and now the undisputed first-choice at RB. Should hit 86 next time and then potentially 87/88 in the future.

Cristian Menendez (Fwd - 22) - 3(6) - 78 ---> 82 ---> 82/83 - KEEP/SELL

Not figuring as much as he did in the Apertura, so no noticable rise next time. Patience needed.

Gonzalo Castillejos (CF - 24) - 8(6) - 76 ---> 83 ---> 85 - KEEP/SELL

In and out of the Lanus side but starts their most important games (Copa Libertadores). Might get a small rise next time, but nothing more than 85/84. Not the greatest player but he could hit 86/87 if you're patient.

Newell's Old Boys:

- currently 11th

Key: Name (Position - Age) - 2010 starts(sub apps)* - previous rating - current rating - next rating - verdict

* - 2010 stats include Clausura stats and Copa Libertadores stats

Nahuel Roselli (RB/RM - 24) - 6(1) - 80 ---> 83 ---> 83 - SELL

Not starting as much in 2010, stays next time around.

Juan Insaurralde (CB - 25) - 11(0) - 85 ---> 87 ---> 87 - KEEP/SELL

Good defender who had a great Apertura, but has probably seen his max for a good while yet. Sell/trade if you have better and don't need him.

Alexis Machuca (CB - 19) - 2(1) - 70 ---> 83 ---> 83 - PATIENTLY KEEP

Not regularly starting now, so no rise next time. Potential to take over as first-choice CB in the future, as well as a move to Europe.

Ignacio Fideleff (CB - 20) - 1(0) - 77 ---> 80 ---> 80 - PATIENTLY KEEP

No rise next time but a first-teamer in the future (possibly when Schiavi retires).

Pablo Franco Dolci (RM/CM - 26) - 6(2) - 78 ---> 82 ---> 83 - MAYBE SELL

Could see another small rise next time, but nothing to really shout about. I'd cash in, personally.

Mauro Formica (AM/Fwd - 21) - 12(0) - 84 ---> 86 ---> 86/87 - KEEP

Nearing his maximum level at Newell's (87, maybe 88). Too intriguing a talent to sell right now, with faint interest from abroad.

Joaquin Boghossian (CF - 22) - 11(0) - 80 ---> 85 ---> 86 - KEEP/SELL

The revelation of the Apertura is finding it tougher in the Clausura. Should still get another small rise next time, but he's calmed since exploding into Argentina. Possible move to Europe in the summer.

Racing Club:

- currently 15th

Key: Name (Position - Age) - 2010 starts(sub apps) - previous rating - current rating - next rating - verdict

Jorge De Olivera (GK - 27) - 11(0) - 75 ---> 82 ---> 85 - KEEP

Certain number one in goal and is a decent 'keeper as well. Should rise to 85ish next time if Racing stay up, which they should do.

Brian Lluy (RB/RM) - 7(0) - 78 ---> 82 ---> 84 - KEEP

Not an undisputed first-choice just yet but he sees a fair bit of action. Can rise to 83/84 next time, worth hanging on to for now.

Matias Martinez (CB - 22) - 6(0) - 82 ---> 84 ---> 85 - KEEP

Was dropped when Ayala came in but has now won his place back. If Racing survive, he's rising again and has potential to go further.

Lucas Aveldano (CB - 24) - 10(0) - 83 ---> 84 ---> 85 - KEEP

A near ever-present this season. If Racing stay up, should see a similar rise next time around, if that's good for you. Can go further in the future.

Sebastian Grazzini (AM - 29) - 0(6) - 76 ---> 80 ---> 80 - SELL

Just six sub appearances in 2010, get rid.

River Plate:

- currently 16th

Key: Name (Position - Age) - 2010 starts(sub apps) - previous rating - current rating - next rating - verdict

Maximiliano Coronel (CB - 20) - 1(1) - 80 ---> 82 ---> 82 - KEEP/SELL

Barely figuring in 2010, will stay next time. Better young, defensive prospects out there.

Rodrigo Rojas (AM/RM - 21) - 10(0) - 83 ---> 84 ---> 85 - KEEP

Has been a regular since arriving from Olimpia, but hasn't been the answer to River's problems thus far. Will probably get another small rise next time.

Mauro Alberto Diaz (AM/Wing - 19) - 1(4) - 82 ---> 83 ---> 83 - PATIENTLY KEEP

Won't be rising next time but can slowly develop into a starter in the future. Can sell in uncompetetive set-ups.

Gustavo Bou (RM/AM - 20) - 0(3) - 78 ---> 80 ---> 80 - PATIENTLY KEEP

Similar predicament to Mauro Diaz above.

Daniel Villalba (Fwd/AM - 17) - 5(4) - 72 ---> 80 ---> 82 - ***MUST KEEP***

In and out of the side and not wowing the world just yet, but has bags of potential. Will see another small rise next time, but patience is needed here.

Rosario Central:

- currently 19th

Key: Name (Position - Age) - 2010 starts(sub apps) - previous rating - current rating - next rating - verdict

Hernan Galindez (GK - 23) - 11(0) - 74 ---> 78 ---> 82 - KEEP

Still deputising while Broun recovers from a serious injury. Will rise into the low 80's next time, but shall likely retreat to the bench as soon as Broun returns.

Guillermo Burdisso (CB - 21) - 10(0) - 82 ---> 86 ---> 86 - ***MUST KEEP***

Already capped by Argentina and a move to Italy in the Summer is inevitable, with Lazio being strongly linked. Potentially 88/89 within a couple of changes.

Nahuel Valentini (CB/RB - 20) - 7(2) - 75 ---> 80 ---> 82/83 - KEEP

Already supassed the number of starts he had in the Apertura, so set for another rise.

Gervasio Nunez (LM/LB - 22) - 10(0) - 82 ---> 84 ---> 85/84 - KEEP/SELL

One of Central's better performers this season for me. Potential rise may be dependent on Rosario staying up or not.

Jonathan Gomez (RM/CM - 20) - 9(0) - 77 ---> 84 ---> 85/84 - KEEP/SELL

Talented kid but has several flaws to his game. Rosario in danger of relegation which could affect a potential small rise.

Mario Paglialunga (CM/DM - 21) - 10(0) - 82 ---> 84 ---> 85/84 - KEEP/SELL

Has been a near ever-present this season but part of a struggling Central side in the Clausura. Faint European interest from average sides.

Lucas Moya (Wing/Fwd - 23) - 1(0) - 72 ---> 80 ---> 80 - SELL

Nothing special, pure money-spinner for me.

San Lorenzo:

- currently 17th

Key: Name (Position - Age) - 2010 starts(sub apps) - previous rating - current rating - next rating - verdict

Pablo Migliore (GK - 28) - 11(0) - 84 ---> 86 ---> 86 - KEEP/SELL

Solid 'keeper and a solid 86.

Pablo Pintos (RB/RM - 22) - 9(0) - 84 ---> 86 ---> 86 - KEEP

Very good player who can rise again in the future, just not next time.

Sebastian Emanuel Gonzalez (Wing/Fwd - 18) - 3(4) - 75 ---> 78 ---> 81 - ***MUST KEEP***

Slowly working his way into the side and shall see another small rise next time. Exciting prospect.

Fabian Bordagaray (Fwd/Wing - 23) - 8(3) - 76 ---> 82 ---> 84 - KEEP

Regular but lacks goals to add to his resume. Shall probably hit 84ish next time for a goal-shy San Lorenzo.

Tigre:

- currently 8th

Key: Name (Position - Age) - 2010 starts(sub apps) - previous rating - current rating - next rating - verdict

Maxi Oliva (LB/CB - 20) - 4(3) - 74 ---> 80 ---> 80 - PATIENTLY KEEP

Promising young defender who has appeared for the Argie youths in the past. Has had his Clausura cut short through injury so he shall not rise next time.

Carlos Fondacaro (LB/RB - 22) - 0(0) - 75 ---> 78 ---> 78 - MAYBE SELL

Still on loan from Boca Juniors I believe and, although he's not currently playing right now, I'd be a little bit reluctant to sell him. Maybe wait until next season and then get rid.

Lucas Oviedo (RM - 24) - 0(1) - 77 ---> 80 ---> 80 - MAYBE SELL

Can't tell you a whole lot about this guy because I don't recall seeing much of him in the past. Peripheral figure this Clausura, so maybe get rid.

Velez Sarsfield:

- currently 4th

Key: Name (Position - Age) - 2010 starts(sub apps)* - previous rating - current rating - next rating - verdict

* - 2010 stats include Clausura stats and Copa Libertadores stats

Gaston Diaz (RB/RM - 22) - 9(2) - 83 ---> 86 ---> 86/87 KEEP

Really like this kid and he can sew up the RB spot for some time to come. Depending on how far Velez go in the Copa Libertadores, he has a decent shot at a rise to 87 next time.

Nicolas Otamendi (CB/RB - 22) - 8(0) - 86 ---> 88 ---> 89 - ***MUST KEEP***

Not a lot to say. Fantastic defender, Argentine international and a dead-cert to be starting at the WC in the summer (barring injury). Move to Europe inevitable and his Madrid-based agent gives you a clue as to where he's headed.

Franco Razzotti (DM/CB - 25) - 5(4) - 85 ---> 87 ---> 87 - KEEP/SELL

Decent enough player but he's very much the squad player this Clausura. A solid 87 for the next couple of changes unless he gets a bad injury.

Jonathan Cristaldo (Fwd - 21) - 0(1) - 85 ---> 86 ---> 86 - KEEP/SELL

Good, young striker with potential for the future, but he'll level out as an 86 for a while now. With the arrival of Silva, he's quite a way down the pecking order in 2010.

Santiago Tanque Silva (CF - 29) - 9(3) - 87 ---> 88 ---> 89 - KEEP

Scoring goals for fun once more in the Clausura, just like he did in the Apertura. Should have gotten his 89 last time around; he'll certainly get it this time.

Re: One Month After the Argentine Review: the Keep/Sell Thread

Thanks for this thread, always enjoy it when people who know what they are doing clean up after the league review. Always have people who are going to want to sell them and want more opinions on the players they have. Nobody wants to have a potential world class player slip through their grasp. I wish others did this to their riser threads.

I will be selling most of mine, but you did save me on a couple that you stated as must keeps.

Good thread. It doesn't seem like it's been a month already. Shame to see Boghossian isn't scoring more goals, I'll keep him though.

Re: One Month After the Argentine Review: the Keep/Sell Thread

Andy,

This has got to be one of the most underrated and lesser known threads on here. It is simply brilliant - the layout, the writeup, everything. This definitely deserves a 5-star rating from me and I'm happy you made this thread.

Will definitely give you the greens again once I've spread enough. :)

Cheers mate, thanks for your kind comments. Indeed, thank you to everyone for their similarly encouraging words.

I've quickly finished off updating Tigre and Velez. I'll update the remaining five teams tomorrow.

Re: One Month After the Argentine Review: the Keep/Sell Thread

Hi, can you tell me if these players will rise in the future?

Nicolas Gaitan 86

Pablo Mouche 84

Ricardo Noir 82

Re: One Month After the Argentine Review: the Keep/Sell Thread

yip' date=' would also like to know what you see for Luciano Aued, someone has offered me 3 mill for him this morning, think i will hold off though for now ;)

Great post, gave u rep :D[/quote']

Awesome write-up. I picked up some great money-makers from the first thread' date=' and now I know which ones to hold on to. You are seriously making my life TOO EASY!:D .. Can't wait for you're crystal ball on AUED![/quote']

Just updated the final few clubs, including Aued and Gimnasia La Plata. Aued's side are in grave danger of being relegated and if they go down, I doubt you'll see another rise for Aued. I'd probably take the cash if I were you, particularly in non-competetive set-ups.

I have Alejandro Gomez for a while now should i still keep hold of him or should is sell him? Please i really need your help.

Hmmm' date=' tricky one because Gomez is a very good player, but his side are doing terribly right now. San Lorenzo are currently fourth from bottom in the Clausura with just 11 points from 12 games, scoring a measly 7 goals along the way. Gomez has got 2 of those goals but I can see a drop for the lad if his side don't pick up form between now and the end of the season. They've just gotten rid of their manager, Diego Simeone (well, he walked actually), so perhaps the new guy (ex-San Lorenzo and Banfield defender, Sebastian Mendez) can come in and change their fortunes. If I were you, I'd keep him for now and wait until the end of the season to see a clearer picture of his future - you can ask me again then if you like.

Hi, can you tell me if these players will rise in the future?

Nicolas Gaitan 86

Pablo Mouche 84 - KEEP - will see more action next year when Gaitan and Palermo leave.

Ricardo Noir 82 - KEEP/SELL - on loan in Ecuador, keep if patient.

Lucas Pratto 80 - PATIENTLY KEEP - doing okay on loan in Primera B.

Lucas Viatri 85 - ***MUST KEEP*** - will probably be Boca's number one striker next season.

Javier Garcia 84 - KEEP - first choice GK, although he's not great in my opinion. Will rise to 85/86 next time.

Luciano Monzon 86 - KEEP/SELL - not a big fan but Maradona quite likes him.

Gabriel Paletta 86 - SELL - out of favour right now.

Ezequiel Munoz 82

Matias Gimenez 86 - SELL - can't see him surpassing his current rating.

Gary Medel 87 - KEEP - good player and Chilean international.

Sebastian Prediger 86 - SELL - same as Gimenez.

jesus Mendez 86

Cristian Chavez 84 - KEEP - can take over from Riquelme if/when he leaves at the end of the season.

The players in bold have been discussed in the opening post. Take a look for yourself.

Anyway, that's a wrap for the opening post. Thank you very much for all the kind comments. If anyone has any questions or would like to know a bit more about certain players, then please don't hesitate to ask.

Andy,

Absolutely awesome thread mate - well done. Well presented, clear and a good level of detail in order to make informed decisions.

Re: One Month After the Argentine Review: the Keep/Sell Thread

Very tempting to upgrade Formica to ***MUST KEEP*** status. That faint interest is materialising very fast, with Dynamo Kiev scouts coming to watch him this week and it is believed that they are close to sealing a deal.

Re: One Month After the Argentine Review: the Keep/Sell Thread

What about: TORANZO' date=' Gustavo ???? keep, sell?

What do you think about AUED, Luciano and OLIVA, Maxi ???[/quote']

Gimnasia La Plata:

- currently 14th

Key: Name (Position - Age) - 2010 starts(sub apps) - previous rating - current rating - next rating - verdict

Luciano Aued (LM/CM - 23) - 9(0) - 75 ---> 82 ---> 82/84 - KEEP/SELL

Very much depends on GLP's end to the season. If they stay up' date=' Aued rises. If they go down, then he doesn't. If you have the patience, wait a couple of months to see what happens to them.

[center']Tigre:

- currently 8th

Key: Name (Position - Age) - 2010 starts(sub apps) - previous rating - current rating - next rating - verdict

Maxi Oliva (LB/CB - 20) - 4(3) - 74 ---> 80 ---> 80 - PATIENTLY KEEP

Promising young defender who has appeared for the Argie youths in the past. Has had his Clausura cut short through injury so he shall not rise next time.

About Toranzo, in the 4 games after his rating change, he only played 39 minutes because he was sub on in two games.. is better sell him..

What Breitner Bonilla(Boca Juniors) made to Facundo Bertoglio(Colon) :eek:

I think Bonilla isn't in DB.. oh, Boca changed coach.. again :S

As Gizb has kindly pointed out, please read the first post regarding Aued and Oliva. As for Toranzo, because he plays in the Primera B division (which I don't follow), I can't tell you much about him. I'd cash in, because that league doesn't get much love from SM.

What Breitner Bonilla(Boca Juniors) made to Facundo Bertoglio(Colon) :eek:

I think Bonilla isn't in DB.. oh' date=' Boca changed coach.. again :S[/quote']

Well spotted, considering that only happened a couple of nights ago. Couldn't believe the tackle at the time, but it was just an indication of Boca's frustration on the night. First half, they held much of the possession, worked many good positions, had a goal incorrectly ruled out for offside and still entered the half-time interval two goals down - their defensive ineptitude killing them once more. Bonilla had had enough by the end of the night and sought revenge on Colon's chief destroyer, Bertoglio, who had two goals and an assist on the night. It was purely a hot-headed error of judgement from the lad, and the referee dealt with the situation superbly, defusing any potential scuffles immediately. Luckily for Bertoglio, he hasn't been seriously injured when he so easily could have been.

As for Bonilla, he is on the DB, rated 78 but he's listed as playing for Quilmes, not Boca - I haven't been in a rush to change his team yet because he's fairly talented (he's also listed as a DM, when he's only ever played CB when I've watched him). Unfortunately, he lacks an experienced leader in the Boca backline to aid his development, and it's costing his progress dearly right now. But I can see him locking up that CB position in the future.

Oh, and Alves has been living on borrowed time for a long time now. He's lucky that his side beat an equally poor River, which bought him an extra few weeks in the job.

Re: One Month After the Argentine Review: the Keep/Sell Thread

HI guys' date=' could i get some information on this guy please.. I can't find him on this thread.. :s

[url']http://soccernet.espn.go.com/players/stats?id=127549&cc=5739

Fabian Andres Rinaudo.. Plays for Gimnasia la Plata DM/CM, £6m.

What do you want to know about him? He's a solid player but nothing to really get excited about. Safe at 86 for now and so long as Gimnasia La Plata remain a Primera A Division side, then I don't see his rating changing for the forseeable future.

what about Erik Lamela??

will he rise or should i sell him ??

He won't rise anytime soon, but he's very highly-rated. Considering how bad River Plate are doing right now (they haven't won or scored in their last five fixtures), it seems baffling to me that Lamela hasn't been given a chance. I'm slightly worried that he does seem stuck in the reserves right now but he does have time on his side. I'd keep him for now, because what benefit would you get from selling him? £200k?
