Bex 730
Re: *** New Fair Play League *** Barcelona FC News News coming out of Barcelona FC indicates a youth team revamp, spreculation is rife with many players rumored to be linked with a move to the Nou Camp. Although manager beckyb gives no specific names she does indicate that full concentration will be aimed towards youth and not first team players. '' I believe we have a strong first team and see no need to purchase any players that will jump straight in, however the youth team at the moment could be stronger and there are a few players that we are intrested in bringing to Barcelona '' Updates are expected to follow in the coming days.. When asked on season expectations - '' Our aim is to obviously win the league title in our first season and for seasons to follow, we have a dedicated set of world class players who have the commitment and quality to achieve this, the league cup is our second priority and although we will do all we can to win the cup i wont hesitate to rest some of the more experienced players for important league fixtures '' Barcelona have a difficult fixture tommorow night with Valencia awaiting there arrival in the first round of the league cup, will Barcelona field a full strength squad? Or will manager beckyb be concentrating more on her next league fixture at home to Internazionale? gadga

Transfers to be completed. Tottenham may have shocked the world with aggreing a fee with Bayern Munchen with Philipp Lahm moveing to Tottenham for 4.7 million Vedran Corluka and Jermaine Jenas. Ciaran Quoted this at a meeting We were shocked knowing this would actually pass the Bayern Munchen transfer standard but he will be here in a few hours and will play tomorrow against Man City Mamadou Sakho will also be joining Lahms presence at Tottenham for 4.5million plus Johnatan Woodgate and Jake Livermore. Tottenham are also going to sign a 20+ riser called Arruda Mazola Bex

Monorn 103
Re: *** Fair Play League *** Chelsea News Chelsea have seemed to hit their stride and have put themselves in first place after a thrilling match against Manchester United. Chelsea got off to a great start with a goal in the 2nd minute by Nicholas Anelka and controlled the tempo of the game until the 32nd minute when Wayne Rooney scored to equalize. The first half had some tackles, but it was a relatively calm game. The second half provided much more thrills as Drogba scored in the 46th minute retaking the lead from their hated rivals. Chelsea were on top of their game pressuring and pushing forward. Franck Ribery Chelsea's newest signing had a header that could have made it 3-1, but missed the opportunity. Nicholas Anelka made up for Ribery's miss with a goal in the 56th minute that all but ended the game. Manchester United made a substitution and young Alvaro Negredo in the 64th minute scores from 25 yards out breathing life into Manchester United, but that momentum was not long lived as Chelsea's defense stepped up with Terry and Alex Rodrigo anchoring the middle, nothing could get by. "It was a great game and it is good to be on top but we need to distance ourselves from other clubs in our coming matches. A cushion of two points against Barcelona is very dangerous and we need to play at a high level" said Rohit Gautam. When the media asked about Ribery's influence Rohit Gautam defended his signing. "He might not be scoring goals, but he has been dangerous on the wing, which is opening up the field for other players and he understands that role" Chelsea are playing their London rivals Arsenal in what should be a close match this Thursday. Bex 730
Re: *** Fair Play League *** Barcelona FC News After a short break manager beckyb returned to the Nou Camp to resume her managerial duties. Three fixtures have passed and with two wins out of three spirits are still high umongst the spanish giants. Barcelona Vs Real Madrid (#6) Quite possibly one of the most exciting fixtures in world football today, Barcelona ran out 4-1 victors at the Bernabeu with goals coming from G.Pique, Yaya Toure and a double from the Argentine magician L.Messi. Barcelona were too strong for Madrid with possesion and shots both going in there favour. A 37th minute goal from C.Ronaldo gave Madrid a glimmer of hope going into half time although the galacticos were unable to break down the Barca defence in the second half giving Barca all three points. Barcelona Squad - V.Valdes, D.Alves, E.Abidal, R.Marquez, G.Pique, A.Iniesta, H.Xavi, G.Yaya Toure, R.Pedro, T.Henry, L.Messi Real Madrid Squad - I.Cassillas, G.Sergio Ramos, V.Marcelo, R.Albiol, F.Pepe, R.Kaka, O.Xabi Alonso, L.Diarra, R.Van Der Vaart, C.Ronaldo, G.Higuian Barcelona Vs Villarreal (#7) Cup Quarter Final Just two days after Barcelona defeated Real Madrid it was Cup Quarter Final time with Villarreal awaiting the arrival of Barcelona, Barcelona won the game with two goals to the good, Goals from G.Yaya Toure and T.Henry booked there place in the semi final. Once again L.Messi played a huge part in the game gaining the MoM. The big talking point was the team selection, manager beckyb stated previously that the league was her main priority and that the more established players would be rested for cup matches. That wasnt the case in the match as a full strength team was fielded, although many believe beckyb's absence was the cause of a full strength team being selected. Barcelona Squad - V.Valdes, D.Alves, E.Abidal, R.Marquez, G.Pique, A.Iniesta, H.Xavi, G.Yaya Toure, R.Pedro, T.Henry, L.Messi Villarreal Squad - R.Diego Lopez, D.Angel Lopez, M.Musacchio, I.Marcano, D.Godin, M.Senna, R.Cani, L.Bruno Soriano, M.Petric, M.Marin, J.Llorente Barcelona Vs Liverpool (#8) After securing there place in the semi-final of the league cup Barcelona's focus were back on the league. After a decent run of wins Barcelona were highly confident of getting all three points and its exactly that that lost them the game. Barcelona didnt show Liverpool the respect they deserve and paid for it losing 2-1 to the Mersyside giants. Barcelona became highly frustrated at the Nou Camp and it showed when G.Yaya Toure recieved a red card in the 56th minute for lashing out at another player. Toure is expected to recieve a stern warning from manager beckyb. Barcelona Squad - V.Valdes, D.Alves, E.Abidal, C.Puyol, G.Pique, A.Iniesta, H.Xavi, G.Yaya Toure, R.Pedro, T.Henry, L.Messi Liverpool Squad - P.Reina, G.Johnson, F.Aurelio, J.Carragher, M.Skrtel, J.Mascherano, P.Maxi Rodriguez, S.Gerrard, A.Aquilani, R.Babel, F.Torres When asked on her thoughts about Barcelona's season so far beckyb said she was really happy with the way things are running, a decent run in the league, into the semi's of the cup and the youth team development coming along just nicely. I believe we can still win the league although i'll recieve tough competition from the like's of Chelsea and Milan. We still have to play Milan home and away and league leaders Chelsea again. We cant afford to let Chelsea take any points in our next meeting as there already 5 points ahead of us and with a manager like Mr Gautam that's living on the dangerous side. More to follow as the season unfolds. P.s Liverpool, Manchester City, Villarreal available
