robbiem 40
Crawley Observer Facundo is Mawby's life Sava A single goal was enough to win a tough match against top of the table side Queensland Roar with Facundo SAVA (88) providing Rob Mawby with some much needed relief and hope that his side can still make a last minute assault on the title. Mawby had put himself under some pressure before the game after he stormed out of his own press conference declaring "We've proved a lot this season, we've won the Leamington invitational cup for the first time and maintained a high position in the league and now we will prove ourselves once again by getting something out of this game or our title dream is finished this season". Now Mawby is in a much happier mood and had this to say "It's looking good for us. The team came together and got the result and thats all that counts. This really was a six pointer and we've clawed back now to just 5 points behind Queensland which is fantastic". Mawby also pointed out that the other 3 sides in the top four had to face each other at least once in the last 5 games but that his Crawley side had faced all of the other teams twice this season allready. An exciting end to the season is instore, that is for definate. Hugh Jass for the Crawley Observer. Match stats and player ratings:

Mawby was full of praise for the team and fans saying "We've done well this season, it may not be us in 1st or 2nd place at the end of the season but we won the cup and we're still in the top half and that takes a lot to acheive. The fans have been amazing too, they sing their hearts out at each game and have been to 12th man for us. I just wish we could've gave them the success they deserve" "Even though its still possible for us to win the league mathematically I would have to say its between Queensland and County now with my bet on County" It's been a great season so lets hope our boys can try and stay in 3rd place until the end of the season! kevche 693
Re: The Leamington Invitational Official Thread NOTTS COUNTY 1-1 QUEENLAND ROAR Mark Viduka(63) Steven Reid(77) Over 20,000 packed in to watch the top two battle it out for what could be the title decider. Both managers had their best available squads out and could do little but watch the action. A tense first half seen both teams probing for weakness in the other side and few chances came their way. All **** broke loose on 35mins when Notts County youngster Sotiris Ninis got a straight red for headbutting one of the Queensland players.Manager Raz quickly reorgainized his side and the sides stayed level to the break. The second half started with Queensland dominating possession and shots on goal with the man advantage but Notts stood firm and a break away on 63 mins seen Mark Viduka smash in the opening goal and send the County fans wild. The Roar huffed and puffed with manager Kev roaring on the touchline but County held. On 75mins Kev decided to gamble with the introduction of Steven Reid and with nearly his first touch he chipped the ball towards the County Goalie who fumbled and watched as the ball crossed the line. The Aussie traveling support went bannanas!!! A tense finish to the game seen no more goals and as the final whistle blew it was all square. The title is not decided yet and it is all down to the last game.Whichever of these two teams hold their nerve will be celebrating on Thursday night:)
