Re: The Leamington Invitational Official Thread

After picking up only 1 pts out of 15 in the first 5 games ,the Sydney manager "Crazy Bones" is happy with the way his team has knuckled down and are now working as a team together ,he believes the attitude and work commitment the players are showing to each other and putting in with his new methods he has introduced on the training ground and throughout the club are now showing dividends .

With a max 24 pts out of 24 in the last 8 games they have gone from bottom too second place and now can class themselves in the promotion race ,while 8 points behind Leamingtons unbeaten JETS which is a fantastic Fete by a manager Crazy holds in high esteem ,he hopes if he can keep the pressure up it may tell on the Jets before end of season .

Also he has noticed the last game is on 3rd January his 53rd birthday ,so hopefully if he dosnt get the title he can get promoted which would make a great Birthday present from his players.;)

838.gif Crawley Town 3-2 Wrexham. 89.gif

Both teams went into the game having just lost convincingly and in need of all 3 points here. The visitors began poorly and allowed Fabio Liverani to get on the scoresheet with a lob which the captain will surely be proud of. Especially after hearing his manager shout, "SICK!"

4 minutes later, Pazzini performed great skill, sliding it in after a clever dummy.

Crawley then got their 3rd in 8 minutes, through centre back Giorgos Anatolakis.

Ferreira Reginaldo then got 1 back for Wrexham, punishing the Crawley defence for their poor communication.

Into the second half and Vladimir Granat hoped to start some comeback, after his shot luckily deflected into Hahnemann's net. It was too late though and Crawley remain top by 6 points.

20070718144814.jpg

(Having a deserved rest after he got his second this season against Wrexham)

"I think at this stage of the season, every team is feeling the pressure knowing we're close to the end. A win for any team is vital and it's clear that the coaches are extremely passionate. There'll be a few success stories as well as disaster stories but we're taking each game as they come and hoping that we'll be a success."

Rushden & Diamonds

After hours of negeotations Rushen & Diamonds welcome Friel to Nene park on what is thought to be a rolling contract. Friel slammed the previous manager who was in the hot-seat for bringing in the wrong players and taking the club backwards instead of continued progression. He spoke of his joy at being handed the job and feels there is no one who could do the job better as he awaits what is sure to be the toughest challange of his managerial career.

The financies at Nene park are well lets just say there are none so the current crop of players will in deed have to do until the club musters up some income at the end of the season. We need a few players thats the truth but as stated before no financies so we will be looking to other clubs to give us a helping hand and we will have to just wait and see what developes.

Our first game is against Dagenham & Redbridge who are coming off a defeat and club boss Herby will surely be looking to get his team back on track so our bhoys will have to be at their best. They should all be giving a 110% if they want to stay at this club and I will strive to get that out of them because if they fail to perform then they won't just be axed from the squad they will be out of a job.

Stig Tofting will be our club captain for the remainder of the season and hopefully his experience will rub off on the younger lads and we can get the results we need.

The club has been set a target by the chairman of 15 points out of our 7 remaining games but we will be going all out for 21 points even if at this point that may seem un-realistic.

Herby's Heros Sparkle As Dull Diamonds Crash To Defeat

dagenham.gif4-0 rushden_diamonds_logo_203x152.jpg

Rushden suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Dagenham some of the words Jinky used to describe the performance had to be censored all we can say is that he was not a happy man.

R&D created more chances and had more shots on goal but failed to convert miserably while at the other end R.Bereens was scoring for fun as he put 3 past A.Tiago and received the M.O.M award.

Jinky said that he will hold a meeting with the players to discuss the defeat and the manner in which it happened. The club are in a crisis at the moment and players are lacking motivation due to the financial difficulties and late payments of wages aren't helping.

He said we will bounce back from this we have no choice we have to the players no this is not acceptable and they had to start finishing their opportunites more frequently if they areto have any chance of climbing up the table.

Re: The Leamington Invitational Official Thread

MATCHDAY 20

DIVISION ONE

The championship can be won by anyone of four sides, Crawley have let there guard down of late and are only two points ahead of season two champions Notts County. Current champions Queensland Roar are three points behind top and Bristol Rovers are back in the hunt as well.

TO PLAY:

TOWN - queensland roar & torquay united

COUNTY - wellington phoenix & aldershot

ROAR - crawley town & morecambe

ROVERS - gretna & wellington phoenix

At the bottom Gretna and season one champions Hibs need maximum points to catch Wrexham who have to play both sides. A loss for either side or one win for Wrexham will confirm the drop.

TO PLAY:

WREXHAM - hibs & gretna

HIBS - wrexham & tamworth

GRETNA - bristol rovers & gretna

DIVISION TWO

Newcastle United Jets are back into division one but still need one point to be champions. Going up with them will be Sydney, Birkirkara, Sliema, Exeter or Alloa.

The other half of the table are trying to avoid the drop. Stirling are on there way back to division three having been promoted in season one. Mariners will be hoping to pull off the same trick as last season by missing out on the last day. Raith are also in danger but wins for these two could pull Albion, Northwich or Stafford into the mix.

DIVISION THREE

Three teams are vying for the two spots to get into division two. Adelaide United look favourites to book one place having a five point lead over East Fife. Fife are looking to beat Perth Glory for second spot with a point seperating these sides who have never ventured out of division three. Dagenham and Peterborough have very slim chances of going up but need Fife and Glory to lose both there remaining matches.

TO PLAY:

UNITED - east fife & perth glory

FIFE - adelaide united & arbroath

GLORY - grays athletic & adelaide united

Burton Albion will win the wooden spoon as they are too far behind to catch anyone. Special well done to Greig who has stopped Arbroath making it four out of four.
