SEASON - 2 - NOTTS COUNTY REVIEW!

After a some what topsy-turvey first season in charge at Meadow Lane Raz looks set to capitalize in the second season. Raz's county were just pipped to 3rd last season after a poor start to the season, where at one point county were sat in around 10th position.

The somewhat excellent youth signings from Raz seemed to help the cause as the season progressed. Excellent performances from the divisions top marksman, young chilean starlet Matias CAMPOS, bagging 14 goals in 18 games. And greek wonderkid Sotiris NINIS on the right wing seemed enough to scare most sides into defeat as the season progressed.

With the new season ahead Raz has bought in a bit more experience in the

likes of Portsmouth defensive rock, Linvoy PIMUS, aswell as Norweigan

veteran talisman Markus ALLBACK from FC Kobenhavn. Mexican centre half

Héctor REYNOSO has signed suprisingly from mexican outfit Gudalajara and

another mexican centre midfielder to balance out the midfield in shape of

Antonio Naelson Matias ZINHA from Deportivo Toluca.

These are signs of better things to come this season, and Raz is hoping to

lift the division 1 title this season with his balanced squad of youth, ability,

age and experience.

AVAILABLE TEAMS

This really is a unique setup for the manager who wants something more challenging than owning countless Chelsea, Man Utds, Madrids or Milans with millions to spend. I'm also after people who wont just spend the cash available then leave because they havent got the skills to do anything with there team. The list below are teams available and the financial position.

GRETNA division one £16.1m

TAMWORTH division two £22.0m

DAGENHAM AND REDBRIDGE division two £17.5m

SLIEMA WANDERERS division three £14.8m

SOUTHPORT division three £13.3m

COWDENBEATH division three £13.6m

RUSHDEN AND DIAMONDS division three £11.2m

EAST FIFE division three £13.2m

ALLOA ATHLETIC division three £10.2m

GRAYS ATHLETIC division three £10.4m

ARBROATH division three £11.6m

There must be some guys out there after a challenge. Please take one of the above sides and show that you are a good manager without having to own a top club. All sides have some money and season two is only just about to start. CMON what are you waiting for!!!!!.

Northwich began another season in division three with a hammering over East Fife. New signings galore took to the pitch with three of them scoring on there debuts. Record signing Dani was first to get his name on the scoresheet followed by Karel Poborsky and then Petr Drozd i nthe second half. With Warmuz, Caressa, De Martis, Hutchinson and Ince starting there carreers at the Victoria stadium LS will be hoping his old guard can lead them to division two.

One game in Northwich are in the top two, a place they dont want to be out of this season.

Re: The Leamington Invitational Official Thread

Exeter City 2 - 0 Dagenham & Redbridge

The scoreline suggests it wasn't a great win but it certainly was as a mix up by George left Exeter playing striker Lee Phillips in goal!

Phillips however, showed he is capable of playing that position as he kept a clean sheet and produced a string of fine saves!

George said ' I made a mistake with the team but Lee played extremely well and kept a clean sheet. I may have to play him there instead of Tomasz Kuszczak in the future :D '

Lee Elam and Takahito Soma got the goals.

In transfer news, Exeter managed to secure loan signings of Tomasz Kuszczak, Adam Eckersley and John Obi Mikel in pre season, no permanent signings were made but George hasn't ruled out that happening soon.

The Jets set out there intentions early this season with a 3-1 win over last years runner up Queensland Roar managed by the talented Kevin D.

A goal from pato then a brace from Santos gave the jets a 3-0 lead only for Opara to grab a consilation in the 86th minute. The jets record signing bendtner is set to start next game. The jets still have a large budget and are looking to expand there squad asap

LEAGUE ROUNDUP

DIVISION ONE

champions-hibernians fc paola

After two games three teams in division one hold 100% records. Notts County top the table after victory over Peterborough. Second are the champions after beating managerless Gretna. Wrexham are also off to a good start with another win this time over Central Coast Mariners.

Although early days the teams at the foot are all the teams beaten by the top three this turn. Peterborough, Gretna and Central Coast hold the rest of the league up still searching for there first points.

DIVISION TWO

Bristol Rovers soar to the top of D2 becoming the first team to net ten times this season in only the second game. A seven three win over Birkirkara contributed to that. Second place Stirling pulled off perhaps a shock win over the team they were promoted with last season Morecambe. Sydneys one nil victory over Dagenham sees them in third place at this early stage.

No wins for Dagenham, Albion Rovers or Birkirkara leaves them pointless but only two games played.

DIVISION THREE

Northwich top the lowest league and are one of six teams on maximum points. Alloa, Southport, Forest Green, Perth Glory and Rushden all chasing whilst at the bottom. Grays, Arbroath, Burton, Sliema, Cowdenbeath and East Fife are the teams left on zero.

Re: The Leamington Invitational Official Thread

Bristol Rovers continue their early dominance of Division Two with a third win in continuation. 2-0 against Stirling Albion provided the three points for Rovers. They are the only team in Division Two to have a 100% points record, with 9 points after three games.

Goals were scored by:

Jose Cardozo x2

Daniel Chavez

Takahito Soma x2

Exeter face another away trip in the 2nd round, Sam's Perth Glory

Re: The Leamington Invitational Official Thread

Exeter City 1 - 0 Sydney FC

George's Exeter took the 3pts in a very close game against Alan Neller Snr's Sydney FC.

Possession was roughly the same, and both teams had plenty of chances but failed to take them with two top goalkeepers in Tomasz Kuszczak and Shaka Hislop playing.

The only goal of the game came on 76mins, when Daniel Chavez skipped inside his marker and curled in a shot from 25 yards!

Exeter move up to 6th place in division 2, 3pts off a top two place.

Exeter suffered injuries in this game, both of which unfortunatly came from loan signings.

Adam Eckersley will be kept out for 7 games, and John Obi Mikel 1.

Re: The Leamington Invitational Official Thread

Bristol Rovers are starting to show some of the brilliant form most critics expect them to produce, pummeling poor unmanaged Tamworth in a 9-1 obliteration. Two goals from Roar Strand, Michael Tarnat and Karel Rada and a hat-trick from goal machine Luis Bonnet leaves Rovers still with a 100% points record in Division Two.

Rovers top scorer in D2 is Luis Bonnet, with a massive seven goals in four games

Grays Athletic 0-1 Cowdenbeath

These were the first points for the Blue Brazil of Cowdenbeath this season who are under the new management of Bryan Adamson. They had to wait until the 78th minute of the game before they got their goal, which even then was a piece of luck, when youngster Niguez Aaron's shot too a wicked deflection and ended up in the back of the net.

Cowdenbeath manager Bryan Adamson has also said that he has had 4 bids for players accepted and expects them to add depth and experience to his generally young squad, which has an average age of 24 but none are really rated very highly.

The 3 points take Cowdenbeath up to 9th in the table

Re: The Leamington Invitational Official Thread

Exeter City are keen to bring in 2 new strikers and maybe a midfielder as well.

City have around 18 million to spend on players so will look for a combination of youth and experience.

It looks likely that Jose Cardozo will be included in one of these offers as he is retiring at the end of the season.

Re: The Leamington Invitational Official Thread

Exeter City 2 - 1 Raith Rovers

Bearing in mind what Fraser said in the Gold Championship 5 thread, George headed into this game very happy and looking forward to it.

With Fraser calling George his bogey manager, it was proved to be true with George's Exeter coming from behind to win.

Raith's Gustavo Cabral's chip was fumbled by Tomasz Kuszczak after just 2mins, the ball rolling slowly over the line.

21mins gone, and Exeter equalised through Takahito Soma, with his 4th goal of the season. beating the offside trap and sliding it under the keeper.

Both sides had chances to score in the 2nd half, and the legend that is Jon Challinor gave City the lead and win on 76mins with an amazing goal, the keeper having no chance.

Exeter stay in 6th, but are only a point of 2nd placed Stirling Albion.

Next up is a cup game against so far unbeaten Perth Glory.

***NEW SIGNINGS***

Exeter City have unveiled the following three signings:

Leroy Lita - from Reading - £9.4million

Jo Tessem - from Lyn - £475k

Jose Jonathan Pina - from Atlas - £2.8million + Rob Edwards + Jose Cardozo

Bristol Rovers give Arbroath a smoking as they win 4-1. Due to season updating I can't find the scorers atm, but a win is a win as far as the team see, in their bid for a second cup triumph in two seasons.

Signings:

In the cup match, Bristol Rovers introduced their two new signings, Vincent Candela and Enrico Chiesa

Cheap goalkeepers available to buy! All Rovers goalkeepers available to sign for their value except for Pagliuca and Fontana
