Bayern Stretch Unbeaten League Run to 12 Games!

It seems a long time since Bayern's 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Munchen-rivals TSV 1860 Munchen on the 20th of February, but it marks the last time Bayern Munich were defeated in a Bundesliga match. This remarkable run of form, marred only by the controversial SMFA Champions Cup Quarter-Final defeat to Manchester United, has seen a complete change in the fortunes of Bayern's season, from struggling for a place in the SMFA Shield qualification positions to a comfortable SMFA Champions Cup qualification position in a matter of 6 weeks, and has even kept alive any lingering hopes of a title challenge - but whisper it quietly!

After the home defeat against bitter rivals TSV, fans of die Roten were calling for the immediate sacking of manager Tom Mills, after a disappointing first half of the season, but the Bayern board kept their faith in Mills, and he duly paid off, guiding his team to 10 wins out of the next 12 games - a return of 32 out of a possible 36 points! During this run, Bayern have seen of top-half rivals such as Schalke 04, VFB Stuttgart, Hamburger SV, 1 FC Koln and Borussia Monchengladbach, whilst only Hannover 96 and Borussia Dortmund could stop the Bavarian giants from taking maximum pounts during the run.

It was during this period that has seen a total revamp of the Bayern squad, especially since their elimination from the SMFA Champions Cup. Manager Tom Mills highlighted two areas for which he felt his side needed to improve - his ageing defence and his weak left-sided midfield. Both areas have been drastically improved, and although a lot of the players that Mills have brought in have yet to make a big impact in the first team, the Bayern manager has promised fans that the new signings will be integral in any challenges that Bayern are involved in next year.

After adding Alan Hutton to his side for a mere £9m at the start of the season, Mills has built upon this defensive improvement with the signing of future England regular David Wheater, for a mere £1m + Nedum Onuoha. Also new to the Allianz Arena is Brazilian defender Emiliano Thiago Silva, for around £15m + Benedict Vilakazi + Nicola Strambelli, from Italian strugglers Bologna. After consolidating his defence, Mills made a major coup in signing future world superstar Andres Guardado from Ajax, in a deal which saw Alvaro Arbeloa and Luis Jiminez move to the Amsterdam Arena. Mills believes landing Guardado will end all of his sides left-midfield problems, replacing Matt Taylor - who is regarded by many as simply not good enough for a team of Bayern's standard, especially a starter. Guardado has already made 5 appearances, scoring once and playing consistently well for his new side, with an average performance rating of 7.40.

Mills is still looking into one or two more leads as he looks to strengthen his side for next season, but believes his current squad is good enough to have a big impact in next year's Bundesliga title challenge, as well as the SMFA Champions Cup and the two domestic cups. And Mills is also looking to continue his sides unbeaten run right up until the end of the season, including the big title clash against Danny Williams' table-topping Werder Bremen. Next up for Bayern is a tough away clash with Bayer Leverkusen, but Mills is confident his side can overcome what appears to be a definite potential banana skin and extent their unbeaten run to 13 games, which Mills believes will give them huge momentum for their game against Werder. With 5 games left to play, Mills is delighted with the way his side are playing and believes things are definitely looking bright for the future...

Will the title be coming back to the Allianz Arena next season, or even this season...?

'Keep Praying Tom'

396.gif0-8 414.gif

Keep Praying Tom, is Danny Williams' only comment towards the Bayern manager, he firmly believes one more win will seal the league title and tonights huge victory over Energie Cottbus might start off another winning run towards the end of the season.10 points clear also.

Very happy with how I've only lost 4 league games all season, conceding just 32, a miracle for me :D

Just disappointing to see how many draws I've had, if it wasn't for them I'd be in a good position for the title.

Lloyd Sam (83), Juan Carlos Arce (84) and Fabián Orellana (86) still up for loan:)

And also, could anyone tell me if Aaron Lennon shows up in my squad? I get bids for him and can choose in tactics, but he isn't on my squad list

Monchengladbach losing touch with top 4

After 4 draws and 2 wins in the last six matches in the BundesLiga Winston's team may well have lost their chace to qualify for any SMFA competition next season.

The last three results have all been draws:

414.gifW. Bremen 0 - 0 Monchengladbach393.gif

Winston was not too disappointed with this result against Danny's start at Bremen although he wanted o win in fixtures like these o prove that he is among the big teams in the League.

393.gifMonchengladbach 1 - 1 Hertha Berlin404.gif

2 early goals settled this match in a scrappy affair at Borussia Park. Winston was disappointed to not capitalize on the home advantage. Mateja Kezman put them ahead only for his goal to be canceled out by Hertha's Christopher Samba.

408.gifMSV Duisburg 0 - 0 Monchengladbach393.gif

Winston was left disappointed again as his teams poor performance cost them another victory, the match was very scrappy and neither team deserved to win.

Monchengladbach have a must win game next week against 4th place TSV Munchen. That game could well decide if Winston's team do qualify for the SMFA Shield.

Re: Gold Championship 1 News

I have got way too many good players not doing much apart from being on loan. If anyone has one star man and are looking to improve their squad rather than depend on one player, please contact me as I can offer very good 2 for 1 offers :D

BTW I also don't really need Oddo, or Nakamura. Thinking of selling off Seedorf as well. Looking for player exchanges ideally....
