Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread

This season your Chairman expects you to finish in the top half of the table.

Fair enough, dont know whether we have a good enough squad to challenge for anything higher, so I suppose this will do :)

Average rating for my team this season is 88, significantly higher than last.

Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread

So my chairman fancies back to back promotions then eh :P

In other news' date=' i have got Chelsea, Lokomotiv and Spartak Moskva in my SMFA Shield and face United in the Charity Shield on Tuesday.

Going to be an interesting season. :)[/quote']

I never win the charity shield its one of those trophies like the FA cup I just can't seem to be consistent in.

The Chairman wants me to challenge for the title again the greedy git, apparently 4 titles in 6 seasons isn't enough for him.

Carlise the dark horse for the title - can Tony do a Jooles win the league and then drop like a stone the next season - only time will tell
Hey, anyone can drop like a stone, like you did after the first 2 seasons. It's the doing a Jooles that's the hard part ;)

13th: Notts Forest: P 38, W 18, D 10, L 10, GF 89, GA 58, GD 31, Pts 67 (season 2)

14th: Spurs: P 38, W 19, D 9, L 10, GF 80, GA 57, GD 23, Pts 66 (season 4)

15th: Liverpool: P 38, W 18, D 11, L 9, GF 79, GA 57, GD 22, Pts 65 (season 6)

16th: Chelsea: P 38, W 19, D 8, L 11, GF 76, GA 57, GD 19, Pts 65 (season 1)

17th: Arsenal: P 38, W 20, D 5, L 9, GF 56, GA 53, GD 12, Pts 65 (season 5)

18th: Fulham: P 38, W 19, D 8, L 11, GF 59, GA 48, GD 11, Pts 65 (season 6)

19th: Middlesbrough: P 38, W 18, D 10, L 10, GF 89, GA 58, GD 31, Pts 64 (season 2)

20th: Fulham: P 38, W 19, D 7, L 12, GF 69, GA 16, GD 12, Pts 64 (season 2)

Strange. We seem to have been so much better in the beginning, or are things just getting more and more competitive? 10 out of the top 20 were in seasons 1 & 2.

Out of the 12 teams there Man Utd feature 4 times, Spurs, Chelsea, Boro, Liverpool & Fulham twice and the rest just once. 13 points was the biggest winning margin ever, by Man Utd over Sunderland in season 2 and Boro over Spurs in season 4. This season's title race was the closest ever, coming down to just 2 points.

Would love to do the same for the other 3 divisions but just don't have the time. If anyone else fancies doing a division each them maybe we could put together a best of the best?

I would but I wasn't here for enough time to be able to give a fair decision
No-one ever is Gary. Besides, who said anything about fair! Just bang 'em in, that's all everyone ever does anyway ;)

1st: Southampton (Rick James): Pts 90, GD + 52 (division 4, season 5)

2nd: Plymouth (Predator): Pts 89 GD + 73 (division 3, season 1)

3rd: Brighton (Ashh) : Pts 86 GD + 51 (division 4, season 2)

4th: Dagenham (wozlives): Pts 83 GD + 47 (division 4, season 3)

5th: Middlesbrough (Jooles): Pts 82 GD +38 (division 2, season 1)

6th: Bristol City (Shack): Pts 82 GD +33 (division 2, season 2)

7th: Man Utd (SOP): Pts 81 GD +48 (division 1, season 2)

8th: Coventry (Dan Griffin): Pts 81 GD +34 (division 3, season 1)

9th: Norwich (Jozua): Pts 81 GD +30 (division 2, season 4)

10th: Charlton (Hog0101): Pts 80 GD +32 (division 3, season 3)

11th: Bury (Lenny59): Pts 80 GD +26 (division 3, season 2)

12th: Yeovil (Mister Malcolm): Pts 79 GD +26 (division 3, season 5)

13th: Notts Forest (BigGameMo): Pts 78 GD +62 (division 2, season 1)

14th: Huddersfield (sirmarkhughes): Pts 78 GD +59 (division 3, season 2)

15th: Man Utd (SOP): Pts 78 GD + 50 (division 1, season 1)

16th: Spurs (jr1990/BenNewman): Pts 78 GD +33 (division 1, season 3)

17th: Tranmere (Mr. Active): Pts 77 GD +28 (division 4, season 6)

18th: Carlisle (Alurcard): Pts 76 GD +45 (division 3, season 4)

19th: Southampton (Rick James): Pts 76 GD +31 (division 3, season 6)

20th: Oldham (cathal crumlish): Pts 76 GD +28 (division 4, season 1)

Just Rick James and SOP appear twice with Rick bagging the top spot, obviously, and Predator leading the way in the goalscoring charts with a +73 GD!

I think in general things have become more competitive with around 10/12 teams having a genuine shot at the title or a place in the top 4
I think you're right that things are more competitive' date=' anyone can beat anyone these days. I disagree that 10/12 can win it. Most fade away as the season progresses and injuries take their toll. I'd say there's 4 or 5 that really have a shout: Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal. (and Boro)
