Birmingham show up again

After a really bad start to this season, Birmingham have finally started to play some decent football. We struggled to score goals and conceded far too many. Now we are still conceding a few, but we are taking more chances. We have scored 9 goals in the last 3 league games.

Veigas steered Birmingham City to victory against Peterborough United.

Birmingham City beat Peterborough United 2 - 0 in their Division 3 fixture.

Sivok scored a goal and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance.

Montillo was also on the scoresheet for his side.

That's our 3rd win in a row now in the league. Let's hope this form continues and we continue to climb up the league tables.

Come on Birmingham!!!

Wigan Athletic 0 - 0 Blackburn Rovers

Decent point away from home against newly managed Wigan.

LOOOOL! Remind me to never use the 3-4-1-2 ever again :D!

Back to the drawing board :).

You won't feel any better when I tell you I didn't have time today to swap out my cup team from Monday night...so my half-fit 2nd XI did us proud! ;):D

Ashley Holtom steered Burton Albion to victory against Shrewsbury Town.

Burton Albion beat Shrewsbury Town 3 - 2 in their Division 4 fixture.

Zárate scored a goal and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance.

Meier and Nounkeu were also amongst the goalscorers.

£9m man Zarate finally pays some of his fee back with a key goal and MOTM performance!

Tidy run of league form at the mo with 4 wins in the last 5 games, next up is away at Brighton.

Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread

Unlucky Dan. A tight 1-0 over Liverpool seals a solid week for Boro having qualified for the 1st round of the Mickey Mouse Cup with a 3-1 win over Fiorentina on Tuesday, and moving into the 3rd of the Shield against none other than Liverpool with a too close for comfort 4-2 penalty shoot out win over James' Gillingham.

We've been riding our luck of late though as an oversight led to the 1st team being left out vs. Gillingham meaning much of the first team were either absent or semi-fit vs. Liverpool today. Fortunately Dan didn't seem to pick up on it and exploit it. The icing on the cake is that we move past a stuttering Spurs back up into 1st spot. Close at the top though again, with just 4 points separating the top 8.

And welcome back Sean.

Stephen Thompson steered Barnsley to victory against Dagenham & Redbridge.

Barnsley beat Dagenham & Redbridge 3 - 0 in their Division 3 fixture.

Hamouma had an impressive game and was voted Man of the Match.

Arshavin and Arnautovic were amongst the goalscorers.

Barnsley go 3 points clear at the top of the table with another fine result against Warren's Dagenham.

We are doing really well at the minute and hopefully we can stay in the automatic spots.

Up next a trip to Swindon :)

Damien Sandow (You're Welcome!) steered Stockport County to victory against Cardiff City.

Stockport County outclassed Cardiff City and thrashed them 5 - 0 in their Division 4 fixture.

Lima was in fantastic goal-scoring form and bagged 4 goals, later being voted Man of the Match for his performance.

Avelar was also on the scoresheet for his side.

Welcome back Lima, now tell me which aliens abducted you :D

Everything went right today, from the half time substitution of Jo for Lima and Avelar starting in place of a tired Elano. Good to see us hitting the right notes again following a minor slump.

Birmingham News

Birmingham City FC started the new season without sponsors due to not being able to agree new financial terms with last years sponsors.

Not wanting to jump into just any deals, Birmingham held back for the right sponsor to show interest.

Was only last week when Birmingham where contacted by BMW for talks and a deal was quickly agreed. It is believed that this sponsor is worth £8m just for the rest of the season and they will go back to the negotiation table at the end of the season.

Close sources to the club have said that should Birmingham surprise this year after such a bad start that they will be offer a bumper deal by BMW, in the range of £20m per season.

Here are the new Birmingham shirts with the BMW sponsor.

Crystal Palace 1 Chesterfield 0

Not a surprising result as Palace had a better side and outplayed us on the day, I was surprised that the margin of the loss as it should have been more.

Everyone played well especially Captain Bravo but Palace were brilliant on the day.

Due to an injury to Myhalyk and 3 game suspension of Douglao, young German centre half Christopher Averor who famously filled in for the missing duo in the play off final last season played pretty well. Sulejmani is given an opportunity to show what he can do and Smolov's late, late winner last game has given him an opportunity in the starting XI.

Britton picked up a minor knock and will be out for 7 days. Chesterfield have a tough run of 5 matches coming up and with our mounting injuries/suspensions, we will be up against it.

Sat 13 Jul [H] - Northampton Town

Wed 17 Jul [A] - Sheffield Wednesday

Sat 20 Jul [H] - Derby County

Wed 24 Jul [A] - Hull City

Sat 27 Jul [H] - AFC Bournemouth

Next up is 3rd placed Northampton Town

Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread

SM need to rethink how deals are accepted/rejected

Hartlepool offer 30 yr old rated 88 plus 2.25m in cash, total = 8.650m

Millwall offer player 26 yr old, rated 89, total value = 8.7m

Millwall player is

  • younger by 4 yrs

  • rated higher

  • valued higher

and we LOST the deal

Walsall 1-1 Blackpool

M.KLOSE 13

M.EL HAMDAOUI 44 (pen)

Frustrations are growing at Walsall as another draw makes it 8 without a win in the league. Think its time to settle on a formation rather than trying to counter sides. Not quite sure what formation to settle on tho
