Birmingham start campaign with a win

Luis Veigas steered Birmingham City to victory against Leicester City.

Birmingham City beat Leicester City 3 - 2 in their Division 3 fixture.

Johnson scored a goal and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance.

Müller and Parker were also amongst the goalscorers.

Deserved the win as we edged possession and had more chances on goal. Far from a boring game! Nice finish to the game when Muller grabbed the winner on 89th minute! :)

Chesterfield 4 QPR 3

A exciting seven goal game resulted in Chesterfield grabbing their first win of the season against familiar foes, Queens Park Rangers.

In a game that had everything: goals, penalties and a red card, the Spireites pulled off an unlikely result. After Chesterfield took the lead after 10 minutes through forgotten man Leon Britton, QPR's Boussoufa struck back half an hour in. We would regain the lead through our up front striker Alberto Paloschi in the 36th minute but things would get shaky after a rash tackle by Turkish creator Mehmet Ekici result in him getting a straight red and for us to be playing with 10 men for 51 minutes.

QPR struck back through El Arabi and looked to have the ascendency then a clumsy challenge by the Ranger's Lombarets resulted in a Chesterfield penalty which centre back Mikel San Jose dispatched easily. 3-2

Chesterfield looked to have sealed it through Paloschi with a dead ball special on 78th minute but El Arabi would keep things interesting grabbing a goal two minutes later. 4-3

A sensational last ditch save from captain Claudio Bravo prevented a Boussoufa to equalise but we did our all to get the three points!

Although we lose Ekici to a stupid challenge, we should have enough depth to cover his loss. Next up is Dagenham who got a credible draw against Barnsley

Arsenal 4 - 2 Everton

Despite Everton denying my 3rd trophy in my short time at Arsenal a few days ago. We got revenge in the league in the opening game of the season. It was very a much a second string side, goals came from Gaitan x2 Obiang and Kompany. We sit nicely on top for now :P

Congrats on the win pal, with the players you have i was expecting to lose both games to be honest so happy to split the matches, plus the match i won put an extra trophy in the case so ya know :P im happier overall lol.

The offer for Free Agent Andrew TAYLOR from Everton has been accepted. The transfer will be completed within the next 24 hours.

Another cardiff player on board, think i could put out a starting 11 now haha. All these guys are playing 90 minutes week in week out so expecting a few cheeky +1/2's across the board on the next rating bump.

3-0 Loss on the opening day, looks like its going to be a long season ahead.

Massive clearout at Northampton, some top players have left, but sacrifices had to be made, was losing around 500K each game last season, too much to cope with, and with SM handing out rises like confetti, you can get decent rated player even from external. A lot easier to manage now the club, dont need to worry about concerns, a player like henriquez wouldve never left the club, but SM decides an 80 rated player can develop concerns, even though he has two 89 rated players ahead of him and plenty of mid 80 rated ones...

The base is still here, Inigo, Nasta, Paulinho, Lukaku etc, so form should pick up. The key in SM is to have a consistent squad, the more you chop and change with your first 11, the more results are harder to come. If you have a look at all the successful clubs in the GW, you'll see they hardly ever do major changes to their first 11.

Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread

Hi guys touching base from Devon , Wifi is rubbish so may not be on much at all this week , Will do the best I can :P

Very sad to see we were robbed once again in the last min as we drew against Carlisle , First game after Pedro and we played well and Ive seen enough to say Sahin and Hamsik will be a cracking partnership. Only if Javier had a better game I would have won but 1 point against Ant is good. Well done mate :)

Ive seen a couple of people ask for a LB , Adriano is for sale looking mainly at mids , wings and forwards :P

Yeah so despite the god damn last min equaliser its been a decent start :P

BRIGHTON had a good start the season , a 3-0 away win at Northampton, 3 up in 30 minutes eased the nerves but looking at the stats , it was a flattering scoreline.

our old cb Stranzl made the team of the week as well so I expect the rest of the season is downhill from here.

thanks to Man city for the loan.

EC7046 STATS UPDATE - OFFSIDE

We all feel gutted when we lose a match by a goal and we had a goal scored which was OFFSIDE

It feels like no-one else gets an offside when they play us, but we always get offside goal when we need it.

OFFSIDE bar chart has been added to blog for week 1.

OFFSIDE and GOALS SCORED chart in STATS area of blog - here
