Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread

Tranmere Rovers continued their 2nd division success with a 2-1 away win against Walsall. The completely transformed club for its small capsize has performed remarkably well the last few weeks. The team is now solidly mid table, instead of treading water at near relegation levels

.

The fact is new Manager David Cox has turned a 100m team in the red to a plus 130+ million team in the black. Hopefully by now we silenced the early season critics that unjustifiably lamented we were tearing up the team of a supposedly better manager.

Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread

I'm sure you won't be referring to tonight's game and my Rotherham team so I'd be interested in hearing you expand on your post....

Yeh makes me laugh when people say this. I'm probably online more than anyone in 7046 due to me always having it on in the background while I'm working. I've played quite a few games at 352 this season, not because Im lazy but because weather you like it or not 352 is extremely effective on SM. I won 2 League titles with this Walsall team playing 352 before getting sick of the system. After deciding not to use 352 anymore I got relegated. I think 541 become become the system I hated playing the most over the past few seasons but for some reason 541 doesn't seem to be doing very well at all this campaign. I'll be reverting back to 352 after last nights defeat at home to Tranmere and as long as we manage 3 points I won't lose any sleep over what people say about it.

Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread

^^ though i struggle to ever win with 3-5-2 so stay clear, and thats in every GW, or maybe its just the manager, though i do feel 'some' managers just pick 3-5-2 and dont choose any tactic and bang in the wins! (i wish that would work for me)

Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread

Everton beat Bury 3 - 0 in their Division 1 fixture.

Mata scored a goal and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance.

Lewandowski was also on the scoresheet for his side.

Delighted to keep up our cracking run of form and pick up another 3 points. As stated I always tend to struggle against the 'lesser' teams so cracking to see such a comprehensive win. Hard luck Noisy, sorry about breaking van der vaart :P

Got 3 home games on the spin now so hoping to keep our great run of form going. As long as we finish in the European spots il consider it a job well done this season :)

Brought Chadli back to the club in a deal with Bristol, I do like the guy think he is a talented player. Got a second part of bringing Danny Rose over to Merseyside once transfer bans are up aswell. Been after a proper left back for a long time so that will be a need filled.

I guess were currently the number one team on Merseyside. Who would of thought poisoning their water would actually work... oh I mean ermm such bad luck for them :P

I think most people agree that the match engine seems to rotate between giving a 'bonus' to certain formations, and possibly 3-5-2's 'turn' has come around again.

That said the match engine also seems to favour 'defensive' and 'normal' mentality over 'attacking' and I've played every single Rotherham match for years now with an attacking mentality so probably cancel out the 3-5-2 bonus.

Also I play with 4 of the 5 midfielders bombing on so it's really a 3-1-4-2 ;)

I also wonder if a match engine bonus is accumulated for playing a settled formation and tactics week after week, month after month as that would also explain why Rotherham are punching above their weight.

settled formations must be a bonus, its more realistic, i dont get how teams that change tactic every game win titles, no team in the world goes 3-5-2 one week, 4-3-3 the next and 5-4-1 the next it just dont happen

That is exactly correct; jr231990's Leeds team have higher-rated players than me so he gets frustrated losing to a weaker team but when you look closer I play the same formation & tactics all the time (through choice not laziness) whereas Leeds have chopped and changed formation and tactics every single game for the last wee while which - potentially - cancels out a ratings advantage (up to a point).

Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread

The Tranmere Rovers came away with an exciting 2-1 away win against Walsall today in Division 2 action. The team which new manager David Cox saved from relegation last season is now a very respectable mid-table club.

Indeed, when the team was taken over it had value of only 100 million and its finances were in the red. The present management has got the player value over 130m and has a cash surplus. We hope now that we have silenced all the wiseguys who claimed I was tearing up the good work of the previous manager and leading the club to oblivion.

Brilliant Brentford go 5th

JS46833758.jpg

Brentford marched into the playoff zone last night with a stunning 4-1 win away at Notts County thanks to a brace from Wolfswinkel and a goal each from Gaitan and Sola.

The Bees are now unbeaten in 5 winning their last 4 and the Griffin Park faithful are starting to dream :D

Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread

A big week for Chesterfield, the Spireites managed 1-1 draw with second place Brighton Hove and Albion. After positive results against Shorpe United and Coventry City, we shot up to 8th place (one point away from 6th spot)

In transfer news:

It has been an unprecedented period of transfer movement for Chesterfield with as many as five players moving into the squad while one moved away.

Transfers Out:

Denys GARMASH has completed his move to Dynamo Kyiv from Chesterfield for 9,129,200

Chesterfield "veteran" Denys Garmash moves on after 223 appearances over seven seasons, he played a key part in the Spireites ascent into Division Three but with the purchase of Imbula, we needed to balance the books and unfortunately Garmash had to go.

Transfers In:

Gianneli IMBULA has completed his move to Chesterfield from Wolverhampton Wanderers for 7,500,000

A massive signing for the Spireites as young Imbula moves to Chesterfield. We have finally found an imposing and defensively strong midfielder to replace Garmash. At the cut price of 7.5 million, I was happy to pay for such a young, promising player. Hopefully he will help us fight for promotion this season and develop a strong playing relationship with Nordtveit.

Sead KOLASINAC has completed his move to Chesterfield from Wolverhampton Wanderers for 6,300,000

Another excellent signing for the Spireites, this time it was more for a position of need. After the departure of Luca Antonelli and the poor form of Fabian Johnson, we lacked a specialist left sided fullback but that is exactly what Kolasinac offers and at the age of 21, he can only get better.

Jin-Su KIM has completed his move to Chesterfield from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim for 150,000 plus Dani PINILLOS

Kim's transfer has completed an overhaul of the left fullback position for the Spireites. Kim has done well since coming back from injuries and Asian Cup duties, picking up 995 minutes and even if he is not in line for a rise this season, he will be a useful back up for Kolasinac.

Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread

Liverpool seem to enjoy the respite from the league games as we roll over Northampton 4-1, rested up most of the main team but Rooney played and missed a pen but it was all relative as we book a trip to the magic castle to see Fluffy in the next round.

Four defeats in a row in the league have only been made a little easier by the cup & shield wins over Spurs & Northampton in between, we need to get back to winning ways.

Aldershot Town have progressed to the next round of the English Shield!
Aldershot Town outclassed Gillingham and beat them 6 - 3 in a thrilling English Shield Round 3 encounter.

De Paul scored a goal and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance.

Fetfatzidis and N'zonzi were also amongst the goalscorers.

The Aldershot Town club record for highest scoring cup game has been broken. The game against Gillingham finished 3 - 6

Awesome B) An impressive win in my 100th game in Aldershot and in 7046! Decent cup run already. Next round we face Colchester at home. Maybe!

Yarmolenko signs for Aldershot!

1387621543.jpg

Aldershot managed to pick up Yarmolenko from Wolves last week. It was a great deal for the club and fans were delighted with the new signing! Yarmolenko is an amazing skilled player, he can beat his opponents easily with his dribbling skills, and he has a deadly left foot, able to score beautiful goals and also to assist his teammates. He's having a tremendous season for Dynamo Kiev and should be in line for a rise to 90 pretty soon!

Ukranian Sweet Conection at Aldershot!

Yarmolenko will meet his fellow country man Konoplyanka here at Aldershot. These two guys are Ukraine's best players and they are two of the most exciting players to watch out there, with all their criativity and skill. Fans will certainly enjoy their partnership at Aldershot!

It's gonna be wonderfull to see Konoplyanka & Yarmolenko playing together

Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread

I finally managed to try set some tactics for tonight , Been difficult as I don't have a lot of time so ive tried to set something up which means I wont expect a lot of the ball but I think with Draxler , Aubameyang, Walcott as a front 3 trio we will pose a serious counter attacking threat and can score goals. I don't have any idea if it will work but I cant think of anything else :) Good thing is that I have a strong team out bar falcao and everyone is 100% thanks to the rest they got at Forest :)

Its a big game just hope Ill be around tonight to see it :)

Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread

Unfortunately tonight's match will be my last with Barnsley. I would like to finish the season but really can't wait that long. Sorry for that.

It's a shame that 7046 was one of the chosen GWs to leave. This is one of the best for an infinity of good reasons! But I had to follow a criteria, for sure I will regret later.

Thanks for everything, it has been fun!

See you around!

Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread

Not sure how to approach tonight's game against Swansea. In such cracking form playing 433 wingers however I know the jacks will play 541 which if used right is an effective counter.

Mulling over letting my formation run and hoping the form will get me through, or changing the team to counter but then risk losing the form we have as i tend to find a continuous formation yields better results rather than changing.

I'll probably just let it run and hope for the best :P

In other news picked up Real Madrid defender Nachoooooooo from Wolves. Love a player who can play a few positions and he is getting decent minutes this season so a handy little pick up :)

Re: English Championship 7046 Discussion Thread

Accidently left my first XI in for Mondays Shield game against Leyton Orient (Won 2-1 so not too bad).

So just like after the last round the reserves played in the league and they won again, this time a 3-0 over a very strong Newcastle.

Up to 12th, just four points off the play-offs. :)
