Colombian Rating Predictions.

I thought I'd give this one a go. It's in a similar format to my Czech predictions. This league has not been reviewed for about a year or so, and in that time there has been many changes to the teams, meaning SM haven't updated any transfers in and out. That means, that a lot of players I have down for clubs here may not be found at their real life SM club. You should be able to find them from the last name, age and rating that I give. If you cannot find anyone, or if somethings wrong, then let me know.

This league was so much tougher to look up because of all the changes etc, and some of the names or ages did not correlate. The ages and names are those used on SM now, but may change after review. Another thing is that I've focused on this season's Apertura, and have looked at the game from the season before. I have put down the games and starts, along with goals for last season, as well as this seasons Arpetura. I have given minutes for this season, there is no minutes for last season.

The league is of a similar ranking with the Czech Republic, a few 86 and 87 players here and there, but averages of 84 or 85 are commonplace. Also, the teams for the most part are of all the same level or so, any team can win one season and finish near the bottom the next. This makes it a bit trickier to judge as you have a lot more work to do to look at who finished top 6 in last season's Apertura, Clasura and this season's Arpetura as well. Not to mention the playoffs. I skimped out on that a bit as teams can be good and bad in the Arpetura and the Clasura.

As always, look up stuff yourself as I could have made an easy mistake, and I am unwilling to spend any more hours trying to be absolutely sure of the information. One thing to note is, and if someone else as more info on this then let it be known, a lot of young players get a lot of starts, but get taken off after 10 or 15 minutes. There is some rule saying a team must start with such an amount of young players, so beware, as this might lead one to inflate someone's rating. I found that out last year during the last ratings. Most teams have a lot of youth, some who may have got a few minutes but for the most part I've left them out as either they are 74 or 75 already, or 16 minutes of football is not worth mentioning even if he is 70. Although SM seem to be changing everyone to 75 even when they don't play.

Age, Name, League Minutes, Games Played, Starts, Goals, Rating and Predicted Rating. Underneath I will put games and goals from last season. Keep in mind, some players might have played for two other teams last season, I will add them together if they are from the top flight.

Re: Colombian Rating Predictions.

This is a good set of ratings mate' date=' I averaged them out with the other thread to get a conclusion :P Regarding Vacca of America de Cali, SM says that he's a free agent. Does this mean he'll still rise or will he stay because of this? Cheers[/quote']

Players rise due to good performances. It doesnt matter if someone is a free agent by the time the rating changes happen. Only thing it matters is how well they have performed ;)

Even better :) being a free agent! SM will correct when they get round to it but you get the discount now, but not then (if u wait).

Yes, he will rise as SM never updated him at his real club.

Is this only for the Columbian League because there's a young Columbian keeper who plays for Man. City.

This is only for the Colombian league.

I have Ortega' date=' Cuero, Franco and Cardona, should I sell them after changes?[/quote']

Unless any of them move to Europe, I would sell them rather than wait another year for a ratings increase.

What are your views on Edward Zea' date=' I think he plays for Quindio ?[/quote']

I haven't seen him to comment on his abilities, but he has played 6 times and had 6 starts, but I doubt he will rise, or at best +1.

Free agents are great, although as Gallego is rated 70, so the discount of 2.5k won't make too much of a difference, you'll still be paying 10k. :P

Re: Colombian Rating Predictions.

Just seen this thread Dermo, good work mate.

It bears an uncanny resemblance to the list i have in front of me.

I guess that explains why you, along with a few other familiar faces, have been snapping up all those young Columbians i had shortlisted. ;)

Just wondered if you knew anything more on a couple of players....

The Chico winger Charles Monsalvo & also the ex-Cali forward Luis Muriel?

I know Cali sold Muriel to Udinese recently & he has been loaned out to Spanish side Granada for the upcoming season, but any insight from your good self will be most welcome.

Very soon... ;)

Also, I scouted out Villarraga of Sante Fe a while ago and had him down for a big rise :D Thanks for confirming that :)

Great thread again btw ;):)

Really good work mate. I've looked through and most the good under 75 risers I have already bought for some of my teams which is handy, but it's always nice to get another persons opinion and in some cases you've actually rated them as rising higher than I even did so lets hope you're right ! :D

Sorry David, I know very little about these players other than what you can find from a few websites. Luis Muriel had a very impressive goal tally in his short start in Colombia and I would expect him to fit in at the second division in Spain as well. Udinese have a very large squad of young players out on loan, so I would be hesitant to say that he will get his chance at his parent club anytime soon. Monsalvo should get a small rise, but I have no idea of what his future holds with regards to moving abroad. :)

Oh and do you know when these rating changes are gonna take place ?

Hopefully by the end of the week, but SM may choose to do Israel and Egypt together (remember the war :D) before Colombia and push it back a week.

He is one of the better risers coming out of Colombia, but his next rise would take to long to come around for him to hold onto him. Unless it's a GC , then you probably should keep him for the longer term.

I thought I was being conservative with the lower rated players, but it's so hard to tell how SM will rate some of the smaller countries, and certainly how they will rate them after a year. Some players who should have risen if it was rated 6 months ago could be skipped if they haven't played to much in the latter 6 months. And vica versa.

I noticed Wilson Cuero isnt listed' date=' i thought he was due to go 70-80?[/quote']

I believe that he transfered to Udinese and will go out on loan to Granada, like Muriel as well above. He has played very little compared to Vasquez or Franco, but he may still rise, but it would be a rise of +5. He is an U17 international as well, but I don't think SM put too much stock into youth caps. Subero is in the same boat, SM could skip him for so few minutes, but he could rise by 5 as well as that's what SM seem to be doing. :)

Riferimento: Colombian Rating Predictions.

Hi Demo,

This scouting is great, It's a very good help but....

But about Tapia (From the Stats included in Soccerway)

2010 Boyacá Chicó Primera A 1616 21 17 4 3 0 9

2009 Boyacá Chicó Primera A ---- 31 21 10 6 ? 11

/Minutes, Appearances, Lines-up, Sub In, Sub Out, In the banch, Goals/

Previous revisions has been done by SM on the 13/08/2009. This means the clausura fase 2009 has not taken into account....which, in case of Tapia, it has been great. By past experiences, do you think the will consider only Apertura 2010 (like you did) ? Because, if SM staff will consider from the 14/08/2009 as at today the rating of this player should be the max allowed or....?!?

Thanks for your answer.

I reckon Tapia may rise by a point or two, probably 2 points. When I did the ratings I did consider last season's Clasura, which gave me more of a headache than I would have liked. The ratings would be a bit different for a few players here and there. I will assume that SM consider this when they get around to reviewing these players. Thanks for your interest in the thread. :)

Re: Colombian Rating Predictions.

There were some big risers in Colombia, some players hit the mark, but a lot of others I underestimated their rise also. And a few players did not rise at all, which leaves me scratching my head as to why, when a few players rose for less games then their colleagues. It's a very difficult league to make estimates for, as in some cases SM took into account last year and in other cases players who played a large amount of games last year were neglected. There are other factors that I overlooked due to not wanting to spend a month doing these ratings, like international appearances, and cup + CL, so that may account for some of my wrong ratings. :)
