Forest Cut Down To Size

Nottingham Forest 0 - 5 Newcastle United

Newcastle had started the season very badly, with a truly awful home loss to Dom Latouche's Fulham being the real tipping point. After that game they got a 6-1 win at Wigan and really haven't looked back winning 3 out of the 4 next games. Tonight they faced an out of form Forest team and had a great opportunity to pour some more salt in those newly opened wounds.

Newcastle started with the 3-5-2 that has treated them well thus far but due to the recent Cup game we’re without key players in Toure, Pizarro and front man Gilardino. Luckily that didn't have much effect as replacement Aduriz made his mark in the 6th minute to strike a fierce shot into the bottom corner, 1-0 Toon. Forest's Bonera was booked shortly after for an abusive outburst. The home side tried to fight back well but in the 28th minute Govou getting a rare league start made it 2-0 after a keeper blunder.

Neither side made any changes in the second period. Two more cautions were handed out to Kanoute and Vorsah after a tussle just outside the box. Just 3 minutes after the break though and Rossi ended the game as a contest with a terrific header for his 5th of the season. Once that went in the home side really sunk and it was no surprise when flair player Nasri curled a beautiful shot in the top corner from 25 yards out, 4-0. Then just 3 minutes later he made it 2 after a dazzling run through a really hapless defence and rounded the keeper with ease. 5-0 Toon final score.

Nasri after getting his first

Sky Sports Reporter : Great result, did you expect it to be this convincing ?

"Of course not, Forest are a good side which is clear from the start they made, however now it all seems to be catching them up but I'm sure they'll bounce back. On our performance though and I'm very pleased, scoring 5 goals is never easy but to do it away from home and for the second time this season already, it certainly gives me great confidence in the side.

Next up it's Wolves at home who are just behind us in the table so a win would be amazing and give us a bit of leverage in the top 4 at this early stage"

Young wonderkid Poli arrives at Plymouth!

Shocking news coming out from Plymouth, but somehow Vik P has managed to bring in some of the finest talents. First in was Jovetic, then Asenjo and now Poli. Each season Argyle's squad gets better and better, and with many youth players linked with this club, only a bright future awaits..

Vik P had this to say:

I'm ecstatic! What a signing, and I can almost guarantee in another 4-5 years this players will be world class. I'm only looking to bring in young players, and I can now say when Olic TB expires he will leave. Poli should be fit to make his debut against Swansea City on 5th Feb.

Millwall bounced back with an excellent away win.

Having struggled lately due to injuries, Millwall fielded a strong attacking side to try to get back to wiinning ways.

A fine ball laid into the path of FARIAS and he hammers the ball home on the 24th minute to open the scoring. It was ROSSI who headed into the corner of the net to put MILLWALL 2-0 up on 42 mins which was to be the half-time score.

After the interval, Millwall pressed and a cross from the right was headed into the net by ROSSI on 49 mins to make it 3-0. However, Shorpe replied when WOOLFORD scored on 51 minutes to pull one back. An error in defence and FARIAS rounded the 'keeper to make it 4-1. An amazing spell with 3 goals in 3 minutes. Millwall were awarded a penalty which was scored by FARIAS to complete his hat-trick on 69 mins. A terrible fumble by 'keeper gift HESKEY an easy chance and he makes it 6-1. ROSSI then lobbed the 'keeper after 82 mins for his hat-trick and put Millwall 7-1 in front.

Shorpe got a consolation goal when MENDY scored after 87 mins.

Pavel joins the Huddersfield Revolution

Pavel Pogrebnyak and family jet into Huddersfield after finalising a deal to become Huddersfields highest paid player ever .Such is the ambition of the club that Pavel said it is too good an opportunity to miss out on .Pavel has only been lightly used this season for Stuttgart playing only 5 shield games in which he scored 2 goals got an assist and a man of the match. He has also played 4 games for Russia bagging 3 assists.

Manager Dan Malone said of his latest capture This guy is a machine he can score goals for fun ,I cannot believe we have manager to bring such a quality player to the 3rd division.

Pavel was used in a swap deal for Sercan Yildrim and 1.4 million cash , which works out nicely if you consider that Manager Malone bought Yildrim as one of his first signings for £977k + Robin Soder , so a sweet little piece of Buisness.

Pavel will be the highest rated player ever to play for huddersfield and will become the main striker.

What a week for Huddersfield the fans think it is there birthday ,This week alone has saw Torres Juanfran ,Matty Taylor ,Cabral Patric ,Matias Fernandez and Emilio Insua all sign and to cap it all in comes a player with the calibre of Pobrebnyak.

When asked if that was his transfer transactions done for the season he replied There will be more new faces coming in over the next two weeks until I am happy with the squad. We are doing great at the minute we are currently on the Clubs best consecutive games won and unbeaten since this began and we are only just over a week after the clubs Highest ever away win (the 8-0 thrashing of Brentford) so things are getting close to where I want them to be at .

Fulham are the fastest growing club in the premier league!!

That is the bold claim made by fulham boss D. latouche to stat his reasons why.

'' Fulham were a team going down with little hope after we had old duffers like totti , pizzaro , brighi , chivu guilding the team without no youth or cash then we werent going to get back up but we managed to stay up and look at us now !!! We have stated our intentions loud and clear!!! We have brought in some of the best youngest talents on the planet!! Name me one person that said after the first 20 games of fulham season THAT we will a good reputable premier league side wth some huge names like ,

Antino valencia , micheal carrick , Aly cissoko , Roddy pedro!!! which shocked the whole world but we convinced him to come and stoke to sell dirt cheap! We have adriano the fwd from roma and Adriano the LB from barca , We have execeptional german talent Nuri sahin!! We have brillant prospect in laurent koscelny , The german Rb Daniel schawwab who is execeptional

But we also have a collection of older expericed players who are brillant like Aberto Aqualini who can only improve still , hes got amazing talent and he is in the twilight of his career! Milos krasic well What can I say One of few things I was blessed to own thanks to my Freind at dagenham Rob walshe's regime , Milos is awesome simple as that!

Now you find me one man that has turned a club around so quickly from all old duffers to young superstars that will be a force present and future! Find me one man who has and is progressing faster than fulham but you will have to look very hard!! :D:D

New Man In The Hot Seat

With new managers hardly ever entering the prestigious setup new boy Michael Bowes jumped at the chance to enter. Reading were the club after a new boss, with the club sitting in 19th place they decided to act sooner rather than later and try and get their season back on track.

A statement on the Reading website for the new boss:

To be able to manage Reading is a great challenge im looking forward to. The squad is short on numbers so first off ill be looking to add to it. We currently got a few lads out injured and a couple who are not match fit so numbers is a must. The chairman has put me on a tight budget which he hopes i can spend wisely and be able to advoid the drop

John Madejski had this to say on the appointment:

The club was on a downfall so had to act quickly. Michael was the perfect man for the job and has a good CV. Fans have already been questioning the appointment due to his love with our rivals Swindon Town but i want to say that i wouldnt had made this appointment if i didnt think Michael would give 100%

Reading face a tough trip to 3rd place Aston Villa at Villa Park in Mr Bowes's first game in charge

This was always going to be a difficult match for MILLWALL.

MILLWALL Scored when EMILE HESKEY headed the ball into the corner of the net after only 4 minutes. This settled the home side who continued to dominate possession 53%/47%. Barnsley had some chances and looked dangerous. However, a miss-hit shot from HESKEY squirmed under the 'keeper's body to put the home side 2-0 up at the interval.

After the break, Millwall continued to dominate possession but Barnsley pulled a goal back when KOLODZIEJCZAK scored on 59 minutes. Barnsley had a great chance to equalise in the 85th minute.

A ball over the top of the Millwall defence results in a one-on-one but 'keeper Marek Cech done just enough to deny the goal.

New Man, Same Outcome

With a trip to Birmingham to face Aston Villa the first match of Michael Bowes's reign he must had been hoping for a good start. Completing changing the formation & players starting with a few unknown & untested players playing due to match fitness & injuries, the fans must had been optimistic about getting a result. Mr Bowes must had been pleased going into the match with the scores level after the pressure Villa had them under. It only took Villa 9 minutes from the restart intill John Carew (54) stepped up poked the ball home. Joris Mathijsen then stroke home the second with a volly on (58) minutes. With the match fully in Villa's hands they sat back and started to play it round, they found another on (68) minutes as Benoît Cheyrou casually rolled the ball into the net. The match continued to go Villa's way and ended up 3-0 to the home side.

Reading Stats:

Possession - 41%

Toatl Shots - 7

Shots on Target - 6

Corners - 8

Yellow Cards - 2

Red Cards - 0

Match Interview From Michael Bowes:

I had to make changes due to the fact we had so many injuries & players lacking fitness. This is far from the finished product here and the team will be impoving there performances & results over the next couple of weeks. Ive got a few lads in mind to try and improve the over squad and depth here so hopefully be able to get them done a dusted in next few days

In other news Reading manager say they have accepted a deal from Villareal for Lopez Angel of £11m & a £262k bid from Port Vale for Ben Hamer. Fernando Muslera has been made unavailable & been appointed captain on Michael Bowes appointment saying "he's going nowhere"

Walshe takes City job

Walshe watches his new side get beaten by Bristol City

In a day of turmoil at Manchester City, the club have finally announced a new manager following the long awaited sacking of El Nino. Former Dagenham & Redbridge boss Rob Walshe was announced as the clubs new manager after Walshe accepted the clubs offer. Walshe was very quiet on being given the offer following his absence of period from football. Walshe was sacked by the Daggers at the beginning of the new season following the appointment of Harry Redknapp at the club. Walshe was spotted at the clubs defeat to Shack's Bristol City sitting beside the chairman.

With the players off form and low on confidence its highly expected that Walshe will make numerous changes to the side and make them into his own. Walshe is a well know manager, and is also known for being extremely ambitious. The appointment was well greeted by Manchester City fans who breathed a sigh of relief after a difficult period under El Nino. The club somehow got relegated from the Premier League and their form in the Championship was no different. Walshe is aiming to get the club into the top half of the table but the City fans remain optimistic with some even saying that promotion shouldn't be ruled out if Walshe can pick a team and get the players on his side.

One player that is certainly looking forward to working with Rob Walshe is Portuguese captain Cristiano Ronaldo with the worlds best player claiming that Walshe is the man to lead the club to great things. Ronaldo has been at the City of Manchester Stadium since last season and never found form under El Nino but expects the entire team to be at their best under Walshe. Walshe is known for working closely with his players and maintaining good relationships with them. Walshe is very much a kind hearted manager that listens to his players and the fans and its expected he will be in the market for two new strikers, three central midfielders and two defenders over the next few weeks.

Wolves Tamed

Newcastle United 3 - 1 Wolverhampton Wanderers

In terms of form alone Newcastle are one of the standout sides dropping just 2 points in the last 6 played. Last week they made a real statement by destroying Forest 5-0 away from home. Tonight they played 3rd placed Wolves and needed a win badly to reinforce their already good position.

The two in form teams began well both getting good periods of passing and each taking a few long range sighter shots but nothing clinical. In the 29th minute Cassano of Wolves got a pointless booking for kicking the ball away at a free-kick. That moment seemed to incense the away side and just 4 minutes later Vidal easily slipped past 2 defenders to finish a great solo effort, 1-0 Toon. The rest of the half Wolves just held back wanting half time.

After the break Wolves really needed to hit back quickly and in just 9 minutes that's what they did through young Brazilian Costa with a similar bursting run to Vidal and slotted it home very well, 1-1. This now was a big test for Newcastle who to be fair haven't had it recently. They tried to up the pressure but it took 23 minutes before golden-boy Rossi struck his 6 of the season following a bad back pass. That goal was a big low for Wolves who were close to taking a point, it only got worse however when from a corner Toure poked home to finish the game 3-1.

Vidal after his opening strike

Sky Sports Reporter : Yet another win for your side, how long do you think this will last?

"Yes we are performing extremely well at this moment; to have 22 points from 11 played is very impressive in my opinion. The team we played tonight seemed to be yet another on the decline like Forest last time, I'm not complaining mind all points are worth the same.

We face Liverpool next week which should be a good test but with how they're playing I would be very disappointed if we lost"

Newcastle Land Brazilian Star

Nilmar contemplating pairing back up with Rossi

It has been confirmed Brazil striker Honorato Nilmar has completed a move to Newcastle from Manchester City for a fee reportedly worth more than £12m million. The deal was struck late last night as the Toon swept in to out-do Villarreal's pure cash bid by offering current striker Aritz Aduriz plus £7 million which was just to good for City to turn down. He now rejoins ex-Villareal strike partner Rossi and will hope to push out the highly talented Gilardino for a starting spot.

Sky Sports Reporter : So how do you feel to have joined Newcastle?

Nilmar : Well the new manager indicated straight away that I wasn't part of his plans and so I knew I had to move on, going back to Spain would have been fine but to get a move back to the Premier league and with a side challenging at the top end of it is much more than I could ask for. I'm glad to have Rossi here who I know but I'm sure I'll gel with the rest of the squad very soon. I will fight extremely hard to get in the first team and also to win as many honours as possible with this team.

Saturday 5th February was the day Ben Newman was announced the new manager of Tranmere Rovers. The appointment came after Andrew Breon resigned from the club and Newman's aims soon became clear during a press conference on the Monday after his appointment.

Ben Newman:

I am delighted to be appointed as the new manager of Tranmere, I feel as if I can fit in and make a mark with the club. My aim for this season is atleast to finish in the top 6 and with the team currently sitting in 7th place I feel very confident with my team and what we can achieve.

Newman also went on too talk about the new signing Leroy Fer from Dutch side Feyenoord.

Ben Newman:

Obviously being a 21 year old with potential I could be nothing more than happy. Many people may have not heard of him but hopefully before the end of the season he will have been a key player to a promotion push. Us and Feyenoord agreed the signing because of the potential the boy could show in England and maybe be a target for a few bigger clubs later on in his career.

Fer is set to make his debut against Wolves tonight in the 2nd round of the English Shield.

Newman has also been appointed as the Italy national manager.

Second String Do The Job

Newcastle United 3 - 1 Plymouth Argyle

Before the game the Newcastle manager had indicated he would be playing a weakened team likewise the Plymouth boss who himself is doing quite poorly in Division two. However there were still big names in that side including Adler, Rafinha, Ansaldi and start striker Rossi.

The team started very fast as for many it was their chance to shine as they get very few chances normally. Winger Govou got a couple of good shots off in the first 20 minutes but they were all saved well. However on the 27th minute the main man himself Rossi hit a great shot that the keeper could do nothing about, 1-0 Toon. With that goal the team began to ramp it up and in terms of shots alone were utterly battering Argyle, then 10 minutes after that first goal Rossi made a delightful run and nonchalantly lobbed it over the keeper for 2-0. Ansaldi was booked late in the half for a stupid challenge.

In the second half it was much the same with the home side pummelling the goal, there was also another card given to a Newcastle defender, Vorsah, for a late challenge. The Plymouth boys were definitely getting frustrated and that showed when Lewis was carded for kicking the ball away. 3 minutes after that though and Husidic making his first start converted a great header for 3-0 before Lewis got his own back by scoring a late consolation for the away team, 3-1 final score.

The Italian can do no wrong right now

Sky Sports Reporter: How do you feel to have reached the 3rd round?

"It is very good, it's always nice to progress deep into the domestic competitions especially for a club like us who for our size really needs some silverware in the cabinet. It also seems a lot of big names have been eliminated so I might have to change which competition I target"

Huddersfield Manager Dan Malone has splashed out in the transfer market to bring in two central defenders.

We have been very short at the back since that unfortunate incident with Marc Planus that saw him leave the club so we sent out our scouts to try and find a couple of central defenders .We went looking for one but ended up getting lucky and brining in two .

Stefano Lucchini and James Tomkins are Huddersfields newest signings in Manager Dan Malones Plight to bring Second division football to Huddersfield Town.

Lucchini signs from Sampdoria where he has been attracting the interest of Juventus but decided he wanted to come to The Galpharm ,after seeing players of Pogrebnyak coming in just days before him he was in no doubt that this was the place to come.

James Tomkins ex of West Ham has joined up also , he has came through the England youth ranks from u/16 to u/21 and in time he will move up to the full England team of that I have no doubt.

Donal Mcdermott the Man City Youth player signs up as well to join Huddersfield youth ranks.

Poli & Jovetic are going no where.

There has been constant messages and phone calls about clubs wanting to sign these players. But Vik P has clearly stated on Plymouth's official website:

A star in the making..

They will be going no where in the near future. They're young and I feel they will develop into stars whilst being at Plymouth. I will be looking to buy a few players over the coming days. Vyntra will be leaving and tonight's game against Coventry will be his last. Over the next few seasons I would like to add depth towards this team, and I would like to guarantee our fans.. One day we will be playing in Div 1.

Unbeaten Run Comes to an End

Liverpool 2 - 0 Newcastle United

Recently all's been well on Tyneside as they continue on a brilliant unbeaten streak stretching back 7 games. This game against a side much lower in the table and treading water around the relegation zone was considered very winnable but the quality of Liverpool's individuals should never be underestimated.

Rossi made a quick start but was flagged offside early on, shortly after Marcelo of 'Pool got a yellow for raised arms. Liverpool controlled possession for much of the first half and in the 34th minute David N'Gog hammered home an emphatic shot for 1-0 'Pool. Newcastle created one headed chance late on but Ceni saved well.

After the break the Toon began to get into the game more getting quite a few shots on target and also winning plenty of corners however nothing clinical coming from them. After a fruitless period Rossi got annoyed and received a booking after a rash tackle in the 79th minute. The game generally meandered to a 'Pool win after that but right at the end of the game Messi headed home from a corner to make the score line more convincing.

N'Gog spoils the Toon party

Sky Sports Reporter: Are you disappointed to have lost the unbeaten streak?

"Not really, I knew something like that wouldn't last forever, it was bound to come to an end sooner or later. The main thing we have to do now though is fight back in our next game at home to Arsenal. Another positive for the team is that we remain in 2nd place which is very good and shows we're a real force this season"

Re: English Championship 7046 Match Report/Tranfer Gossip Thread

this set up should have a wall of fame/elite like the ec5579.
...Maybe we could look to have a wall of fame after' date=' say, a million seasons?[/quote']

So, how will EC7046 look after 1 million seasons? Let’s flash-forward shall we to the future and check in on our favorite little set-up, tracing some of its history along the way. And well, despite a number of huge controversies you’ll be pleased to know that it is still around and going strong.

And here's Leonard Cohen's 'The Future' to accompany your journey from the present

Sadly only 3 original season 1 members remain: SOP, who is of course immortal, Longnose, who was cryogenically frozen and launched into space with Baroness Thatcher, only to be rescued and resuscitated when the technology to restart the heart and keep it going forever was invented in season 876,122 (Thatcher, unfortunately, did not survive as they were unable to locate her heart), and ExiledScotintheUSA, who was found perfectly preserved and also revived, his body saturated in Jack Daniels.

Izod and SOP face off in season 1 million

Sirmarkhughes too also was part of season 1 million for a brief period, having advanced his techno blogging talents by adapting the blog to time travel and revolutionizing the blogosphere by bringing reports back from games before they'd even happened. Well, that was until Craig got the hump from being told how bad Millwall would be in the future and banned the practice. Reportedly he now helps out struggling managers back in season 532788 by advising them on which risers to buy.

And it should come as no shock to know that Carlisle United remain one of the powerhouses of the game, having shot to prominence in season 5 when Alucard managed to single-handedly scout and purchase every single riser that year (reports of time travel assistance are grossly exaggerated). His team went on to rival Teb’s Spartak Moscow in Gold Championship 1, with Gold Championships themselves becoming renamed Polonium Championships on account of their incredibly short half-lives. As people used to say back in the day of season 678256, Polonium Championship’s are like shuttles to Mars, if you don’t like the ‘PC’ you’re in now then just wait 10 days and another one will come along.

Polonium Championship 84, a particularly unstable one

Regarding other teams, West Ham to this day have still yet to make to make it past the semi-final stage of any major competition, and Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle remain trophy-less, Newcastle of course falling from grace in season 7 when SM introduced their voice-activated tactical interface, which sadly was never able to decipher Geordie.

The trend for wanting to learn Geordie ended right after this

And looking back in the past, who could forget Dom’s emotional return to Arsenal in season 127, a moment that went down in SM history. There was barely a dry eye in the house as Latouche ‘came home,’ becoming the Arsenal boss once again for his last ever game before heading into retirement for good. Of course the tears weren’t due to sadness in seeing the prodigal son return, no they were glad to get rid of him, but instead they flowed because once again he managed to get them dumped out of the SMFA Cup, “for old time’s sake” as he wrote in his memoirs.

Of course everyone will also remember the controversial 77,982nd season when it was discovered that Mr. Screwdriver, a distant relative of a previous 7046 bad-boy was simultaneously the manager of 79 teams (SOP of course still being the Man U manager). Many still haven’t got over the shock of that one.

And then there was the mass walkout protesting against the vile, contemptible use of 3-5-2, which was eventually outlawed after SOP’s Man Utd’s 10,000th successive league title. Reportedly though it went underground, resurfacing by all accounts in the darker corners of EC100106, the reincarnation of the now defunct EC106 which famously imploded under the weight of Izod’s prose on the match report thread.

Season 291352 too was a particularly contentious season, the records of which remain hazy given that a personal argument broke out that was so big, so massive, that despite being taken to PM (as advised) it eventually spilled back over into the discussion thread again and out onto people's keyboards, causing over-zealous Mods to delete the entire season, even the good bits, much to the chagrin of R0berta Walshe, heir to the Man City dynasty who, if reports are to be believed, made some pretty witty and insightful comments that year.

Season 291352, wiped from the pages of time

Another pivotal moment in EC7046’s history was in season 462933 when the then Forest manager, Big Game Moan, descendant of notorious moaner Bigga Memo, followed in his pioneering relative’s footsteps and shocked the league by fielding the first ever all-Vulcan line-up. With Earth's dip in their intergalactic championship form being linked to the ousting of earthlings in such teams new rules were of course introduced making it mandatory to play a minimum of 7 'home-grown' earth players. Chelsea haven't been the same since.

And who can forget the notoriously bad season 666666 when the match engine became so slow that season 666667 started before the results had even come in from the previous one?! Controversially, yet unsurprisingly, SM has yet to issue an explanation or an apology for this mishap.

Then there was season 873789 which famously set the record for the longest time for SM ever to respond to a bug ticket. The ticket was sent in season 54214 by then Plymouth manager, Predator the 78th, who thought a bug must have been the reason why Plymouth had been stuck in division 2 for 54213 seasons (it wasn’t, they were just really really bad). Showing the deepest of concern and patience for their members SM’s response read,

We are aware of this problem and are currently working on it. But thanks for bringing it to our attention again.

The ticket was promptly closed without explanation shortly after.

Ah, but for all the ups and downs EC7046 has stuck it out, and now into it’s one millionth season the issue of the elite wall of fame has reared its ugly head again, though in a new guise, this time rebranded ‘the Gods of 7046’ (much better than the call in season 222999 for the infinitely less catchy ‘god we are good wall’.

The Gods, you don't want to make them angry

Support for the God squad, however, is patchy. As one current manager, Lenny 1000059, a descendent of one of ‘the founding fathers’ admitted, “Hall Fame? No, not for a people’s set-up like this. After a billion seasons, maybe, but not yet, it’s too soon…”

Over and out from the season 1,000,000, where the future is bright, and, you'll be pleased to know, the future is Boro. ;)

Chesterfield face Dagenham & Redbridge tomorrow at the B2net Stadium which is set to be a cracker.

Chesterfield have been in above average form since Alex O'Donnell took over, and in the process have made some impressive and exciting signings. Dagenham on the other hand are top of the league despite their previous manager Rob Walshe leaving them for Manchester City. However today Dagenham & Redbridge have announced their new manager El Nino who will take charge for their match tomorrow against Chesterfield.

Chesterfield will be without injured David Jones and Not Match Fit Kljestan. And also Snodgrass doubtful due to fitness. Dagenham will be without Khumalo,Martin and Lopez with King,Suazo,Van Aanholt and Benjamin all doubtful.
