Aldershot signs two quality defenders on the rise!

After selling Oriol Rosell to Spanish NT aka Mr Hammer's Arsenal for 5M & Oliver Sorg to Mr Smut's Brighton for 6.8M, we went to the market and managed to bring in two quality players at very low price!

Antonio+Barragan+Valencia+CF+v+FC+Porto+Pre+I7smj0oBmdWl.jpg

Antonio BARRAGÁN has completed his move to Aldershot Town from Valencia for 3,577,000 plus Carlos GUERREÑO

Barragan has been an absolute starter this season for an high flying Valencia! He's 86 rated, so he's due to a rise, maybe a +2 to 88 if SM feels generous, but a +1 to 87 is guaranteed! And he will continue to rise if he keeps his place. A very nice signing and a direct replacement to Sorg, who may have peaked at Freiburg. Surprised that only Dan's Liverpool had him shortlisted, and i'm glad he did not bid.

fca-baba-mediadays.jpg

Abdul Rahman BABA has completed his move to Aldershot Town from Furth for 3,777,000. All other offers were turned down.

Baba is one of the hottest prospects in Bundesliga atm, he's very young but he's playing at a very high level for Augsburg. He's 82 rated but he should get a juicy rise to 85 soon, his performances have been very good. There are already rumours some major teams may be following him. I'm very happy to get him, we beat Dom for his signing, so it's even better!

Help the Aged

a.k.a. the Bid to Stand

on Top of the World

(again)

Exciting reports are breaking today from Kathmandu, Nepal that Japanese climber Sensai Dom Yousuke is preparing once again to break his own world record and at the ripe old age of 83 become the oldest person ever to summit Mt. Everest. Dom Yousuke, a renowned Boro fan, has twice previously been the oldest man to stand on top of the world, feats that surprised everyone who knew him at the time. Rumours suggest that after extensive acclimatisation training, heading from dizzy heights to stupendous lows and back up again, Dom Yousuke is perched high up at camp 3, pitched at some 6500m on Everest’s southern slopes, and is readying himself for the final summit push over the next few weeks.

Miura-Everest-Summit-Photo-2013-620x412.jpg

Yousuke, seen here on top back in season 4 in Boro’s familiar red and white

Yousuke’s attempt has sparked heated debate the close-nit climbers’ community over the ethics of such high altitude dances with death by the elderly and infirm. What right do the over-the-hill and past their sell by dates amongst us have getting in the way of the young, agile, and bright of the future? By contrast, others argue, have these seasoned climbers not proven themselves time and time again, while the young bucks huff and puff but more often than not prove to be all hot air and the first to reach for the bottled oxygen and drop when the summit is in sight? Indeed, perennial high-climber Benzai Newmasi is this season a classic example, once again looking like altitude sickness has struck him down and sadly he looks set to descend early like many a time before with yet another onset of pulmonary edema.

Everest-Header-1---LM.jpg?v=2014_03_04

Everest, the top of the world (the smaller peak, to the left of the big one)

Dom Yousuke, however, seems to go from strength to strength, passing all in his wake in pursuit of his summit bid. The octogenarian is reportedly inspired by the now 107 Son of Pluto, the first back in the 1920s to ever conquer Everest. Mr. Pluto, a former legend who went on to stand on the top of the world a total of 4 times before general malaise and then tragic degenerative disease ended his summit bids for good. Many younger climbers are less than impressed though. Speaking from his Liverpudlian climbing training centre, the world’s tallest man, Mr. Shack was dismissive of all this talk of oldest still being the best. A former accidental Everest summiteer himself, and despite now heading towards one of the lower points on earth in search of the long lost Bigga Memo, he still mustered the cheek to quip of the old, “They should do what the Inuit did in days gone by, take them out in the snow and leave them to die.”

Mount_Everest.jpg

The log-jam to get to the top. Latouche, Dan and Raz can be seen

sliding off down the side of the mountain to the left…

Still, Dom Yousuke continues to defy his critics. In a far cry of the faltering progress of many a younger climber, he has conquered 10 of his last 11 minor peaks and age seems no barrier to success. With considerable distance to go, however, Yousuke would be the most unlikely of champions. With age creeping up on him with every passing day the likelihood is that he will wither and fall. Nevertheless, with very little effort, and joined in his summit bid by David Belkevitz, the world’s oldest living Scot, he has without doubt proven his ageist critics wrong. “Why try and climb once more to the top of the world when you have already proven yourself again and again?” Yousuke was asked at base camp some weeks ago. “It’s a metaphor” he replied with a wry smile, before turning and getting on with what he does best, accepting the onset of age with grace and honour like only the greatest and wisest are able to do…

Re: English Championship 7046 Match Report/Tranfer Gossip Thread

Has Latouche finally lost the plot?!

There are worrying reports coming from Fulham about the mental stabilty after he was seen fighting with Patrice Evra on the training ground after Evra refused to train a certain way. Latouche was also seen after hours after the players gone home shouting at a empty training pitch as he was swearing at Falcao for not shooting on goal instead of passing. And in the morning his press conference must worry all Fulham fans as he spoke about pineapples and dustbunnies.

That red pineapple i saw yesterday was a bit spikey' date=' the pineapple has a very tough outside but if you managed to peel it given time theres a very soft centre that eventually gets eaten alive. And did you know if you peel a pineapple and leave it despite how hard you try it will eventually rot. Thats why I try to keep smaller and fresher fruit so it dosent rot given time :) [/quote']

And he made more bizzare comments

I was told the other day Im not a real gumdrop as im not down there with dustbunnies at fighting to clean the room at level 4. Let me tell you some gumdrop I fight hard to clean my room at Level 1 every single day ' date=' My room is full of wierd , bigger and things you can ever imagine but i have my struggles so to call me a false gumdrop is just mean. If you started getting your act togther and buy a few cleaning products you might start moving up the levels but for now its the dirtiest room in England which is disgusting :) [/quote']

Latouche can be seen talking to himself as he leaves a stunned press room , Surely the FA and Fulham need to help him as hes trying to carry the weight and expectation of the now football giant and its finally getting too much it seems. Knowing Latouche like I do he will come out with all the passion he has and fight but this moment in time he needs help. :)
