Udinese top the table thanks to a romp at unmanaged Chievo - Candreva hitting a double and Brazilian Barretto with an opening day hat-trick. Other winners on day 1 were Parma (3-2 at Livorno), Lazio (1-0 at Palermo) and Milan (2-0 at home to Cagliari). Roma needed a Vucinic equaliser at get a point at Bari, whilst Fiorentina and Genoa played out a 2-2 draw in Florence. Sampdoria v Siena and Bologna v Atalanta were both one a piece.
