Re: Official Spanish La Liga Discussion Thread

I still think he'd have gone. No reason to doubt his reasons; he's still won everything there is to win at Barca and managing that size a club as your first managerial job at that age must be stressful.
Guardiola would of stayed if Barcelona won a big cup

Like Harry Redknapp said as sarcasm - Its real stressful job' date=' all you do is paperwork, then coach and that's it

Plus Spain HAS a winter break[/quote']

Thanks guys, I personally feel that Guardiola would have still left as he has only previously signed 1 year contracts ;)

So from what your saying, is that if Mourinho leaves Real Madrid this summer which is heavily linked so with doing, it's because he's unhappy with not winning the CL/Copa Del Rey...

Typical Madrid bias, yet you claim your a United fan...

It's hard to have passion for the game when you've won 13 out of 18 cups you've contested in and have won everything there is to win at Barca, it might not seem like a challenge anymore. Plus it's his first job in management, he hasn't had much retirement time since his playing days so maybe he wants some time off with his wife and kids....

Also, you say Barcelona aren't the greatest because Chelsea managed to score against them and Barca couldn't score against them. Take Palace-Man Utd this season, we beat you and put ten men behind the ball yet do you really think we are a better team than you...

EDIT: 2000th post :P

Re: Official Spanish La Liga Discussion Thread

Really big win for Malaga against Valencia today, keeps them in the hunt for a Champions League place which i hope they get. With CLF plus their financial backing they could make some really tasty signings in the Summer and really become a bit of a force. Fingers crossed anyways :D

Re: Official Spanish La Liga Discussion Thread

Barca currently 5-0 up' date=' rested all the first-teamers except Messi, Puyol, Dani Alves and Busquets.[/quote']

Sanchez and Macherano?

And they have a small squad anyway. Calling Pedro a sub is hardly fair. They rotate their team a lot.

Aye my mistake, still a very convincing win without key players even if it is Rayo...

What these guys discover..

Also.. the first player that scored a goal to a Mourinho team while head coach was.. surprise, surprise.. Tito Vilanova. It happened in 24 of March of 1998 in a Copa da Catalonia match between Barcelona and Lleida and the future Barcelona's coach scored from a free kick to the Lleida's side. Van Gaal was the Barcelona coach at that time, but delegated Mourinho to guide them. Puyol and Xavi were some of the players that featured there.

Re: Official Spanish La Liga Discussion Thread

With 3 goals tonight' date=' Messi now has 71 goals, more in one season than any player in any league, anywhere, in history![/quote']

To compare the history with present is stupidity....20-30 years ago the season wasnt so long, were other conditions, were other ways to play football(with a ball made from wood most probably)

Games were also far higher scoring in days gone by though...
