Bradford make changes ready for new season!

Division 4 side Bradford City have decided to take the team into a new era after announcing a new manager in Adam Gould. The Midlands-born manager has a habit of taking lower division sides up the leagues, and Bradford firmly believe he can do the same here.

kevin_james_01.jpg

Gould-Tommy Clueless or Unknown Genious??

With Gould now in charge, changes on the pitch are expected. A busy manager in the window, Gould will no doubt be looking to add depth to his side after the board made it clear to the boss they would very much like a top half finish. Gould was unavailable for a formal interview, but gave this brief statement after his appointment.

Gould-New Bradford Boss

I'm happy to be in charge of Bradford, it's a perfect set-up for me. Good fans and a 25,000 seater stadium, i can't complain. I hope very much that i can bring in the players i want so that i can improve this side and turn them into promotion candidates, and i'm sure the next season will be an exciting one. The fans can rest assured that i'm already busy identifying my targets, and hopefully there will be a few players in by the end of the week. I'm looking forward to the new season, and hope i can lead the club onwards and upwards.

Bradford Signal Intentions!

Bantams boss Gould said just yesterday he was already identifying his targets and getting bids in, and the club are happy to announce the first arrival. Talented right-back Richard Keogh has joined from Coventry City for a fee of £750k. It is believed he agreed to a 2-year deal after flying through his medical last night.

With the first new signing in, many more are expected to be finalized over the coming days. Various players have already been seen around the Bantams training ground, including highly talented Brazilian Arruda Mazola, Valencia starlet Alarcon Isco and L.A Galaxy's ever-present midfielder Michael Stephens.

LEEDS CLOSE TO SIGNING 19-YEAR OLD GEM

Leeds United are close to signing Italian 19-year-old right back Davide Santon for 1.6M + players. Inter Milan have accepted the bid, and Davide will be arrving in the next few hours. In other news, Matej Delac has settled in at the Leeds training ground, Thorp Arch, saying: "He is enjoying life with Kasper (Schmeichel) and Shane (Higgs). There is a big debate in the dressing room as to who will start in a weeks time, but Hirst said with two more 'keepers coming in it will intensify training. Hirst said "Well two more keepers are coming into the club, but they will go out on loan, along with Shane Higgs." Leaving just two keepers at the club, Kasper Schmeichel and Croat Matej Delac. The keeper debate goes on, but one thing for sure, Leeds are ready to face Norwich.

Keep the news coming!

Bantams Capture 2nd Permanent Signing.

Bradford City have today captured talented winger Albert Adomah for a bargain fee of £150k. The 22 year old Englishman leaves Bristol City and the Championship behind to join the Bantams on a 3 year deal.

0,,10327~8895178,00.jpg

Adomah joins to add depth

Adomah only joined Bristol City earlier this month from Barnet, but with many teams taking on new managers in the recent days, he was no longer in the clubs plans.

Bradford manager Adam Gould had the following to say:

Gould comments on Adomah

It's a great signing for us, a tricky young winger that had Bristol fans raving about him. He'll do a great job for us in the coming years and for £150k it was impossible for us not to sign him. Him with Richard Keogh show we really want to improve this squad both short term for this year and also long term into the future.

It is believed that Gould will be unveiling a whole host of new signings in the next 24hours, so Keogh and Adomah are obviously being showcased to wet the fans appetites for what's to come soon.

Real Quality Gained In Loan Market

As well as the many permanent deals expected to be completed, Bradford have also signed 2 highly talented players from the Premier League on loan. 27 year old Midfield maestro Andranik Teymourian joins from Fulham whilst 19 year old star Nile Ranger joins from Newcastle. Gould was once again thrilled.

n112714525410971_208.jpgnile-ranger-in-action.jpg

Teymourian and Ranger both have great ability

Gould talks about loanee's

They were both on the loan list, so i jumped at the chance of working with them. They'll add much neaded firepower early in the season and should spur the other guys on. I'm sure that the chance of working with these 2 were one of the reasons we have so many guys coming in now. The squads looking great, and i think we can do well. Look out, Bradford are ready to win games!

500full.jpg

Gould tells others to look out

Strong words from Gould, but Bradford certainly are looking better now.

UNITED DECLARE BOSNIAN INTEREST

LEEDS LEEDS LEEDS

MAG

LEEDS UNITED have joined the race to sign Stoke keeper Asmir Begovic, talks are ongoing for the 23 year old, Stoke have back-up keeper Thomas Sorensen to replace him if he leaves. If PNE's interest is strong this should get interesting. The Begovic transfer, if Leeds offer the transfer would be through for the Norwich match here's what Leeds boss Toby Hirst had to say on Asmir Begovic.

Asmir is a great keeper but if we do not get Delac on a permanent we shall offer - but that is not till the end of the season. PNE can offer for him, we will just find another keeper, to be understudy to Delac, or even ahead of Delac.

United announce star signings!

As we know Leeds boss Toby Hirst has been active in the transfer market, but today he unveiled some star signings...

Random names were thrown at Hirst the other night, some right some wrong.

The first to be unveiled was 19-year old Italian Davide Santon who said "It is an honour to be at this club and help them with their promotion push."

Second to be revealed was Italian U-17 captain Stephen Al Shaarawy, who plays an attacking-midfield role, Al Shaarawy will immedatiely be put on the loan list.

Number three signing was Portugese left-back Fabio Coentrao, Coentrao is one for the future, as are most of the other signings coming into Elland Road.

The fourth man to help Leeds with their promotion-push for D1 is an German international, who is well know and signed from Real Madrid... centre-mid Sami Khedira who is key for Leeds.

The final signing from Roma is centre-forward is Stefano Okaka, who, like all the other signings is one of the future.

Leeds say they are ready to take anyone on... bring 'em on!

Bradford Fans-Meet Your New Signings!

Bradford fans, the time has come for the manager and board of the Bantams football club to reveil the new signings ready to make an impact in League2 this season. We at Bradford City Football Club are very happy with the new additions, and hope you are too.

GK-Murara Neto

Neto, a big Brazilian keeper, joins from Paranaense for a fee of £700k. Highly talented, and expected to improve fast.

GK-Sean Johnson

Johnson will be back-up keeper to Neto. He joins for just £10k from Chicago Fire. Rated quite high amongst American fans.

LB-Matthew Briggs

Briggs joins as a free agent for a sign on fee of £275k. At just 19 he'll be one for the future.

diegomacedo_div30.jpg

RB/RM-Diego Macedo (pictured above)

Cost £800k, a lot for Bradford City, but it is firmly believed that he will be another of the Brazilian crop that will fast improve into a League2 star.

CB/RB-Richard Keogh

Has already been presented to fans, very talented and has experience of the lower leagues at Carlisle.

CB-Vital da Silva Dede

The 3rd Brazilian brought in by Gould. A towering centre-back that should adapt well to this league.

45275.jpg

CB/LB-Luca Caldirola (pictured above)

A 19-year-old Italian. Can play at left back or in the middle. Will give plenty of competition for places and great things are expected from the ex-Inter defender.

rory-mcardle_1194793.jpg

CB-Rory McArdle (pictured above)

McArdle was most recently breaking into the Aberdeen side, but before this played for Rochdale, so will be able to step into League2 with ease. A leader and a talented defender.

DM-Nampalys Mendy

A talented french battler on the field. Plays the holding role very well. At just 18 will be around for many years to come.

Mid-Michael Stephens

Signed for the LA Galaxy for 100k. A regular starter for the American side. Another youngster at just 21.

CM-Rafaele Maiello

An Italian with pace and style. 19, but can lead the midfield well. Will be expected to go onto great things.

AM/Fwd-Oliveira Cardoso Elkeson

Another of the Brazilians. Elkeson has been valued at £1m, but cost just £600k so could be a great bit of business. Should improve quickly.

AM-Davy Propper

Propper is a forward-thinking attack minded player. Signed in a straight-swap deal for Michael Flynn, many think Bradford got the better end of the deal. Has the potential to become a Dutch international in the future.

ISCO.jpg

AM/Wing-Alarcon Isco (pictured above)

Valencia's loss is certainly Bradford's gain. Excellent on the wing and has great pace. A future star.

AM/Wing-Dominik Rohracker

Picked up for £20k. Chose to join the Bantams despite interest from Sheffield United. Decent player that will be suited to League 2.

AM/Wing-Manuel Sutter

Another cheap pick-up. Potentially has 2 good seasons at Bradford ahead. Will depend on how he progresses.

1279805_full-prt.jpg

Wing/Fwd-James Forrest (pictured above)

Celtic were reluctant to let go of the youngster, but Bradford got their man. Expect to see him knocking on the Scottish National Team door in the next year or so.

Wing-Albert Adomah

Already been shown off to fans. Expect him to improve at the bantams.

Fwd/Wing-Zardin Roberto Cesar

Brazilian talent once again. Already worth a lot to the club and is expected to push on towards better things.

Fwd-Batista Rodriguinho

Very much the same mould as the rest of the Brazilian signings. Talented and will impress.

2075.jpg

Fwd/Wing-Harry Novillo (pictured above)

A signing that Gould got very excited about. Has awesome ability and was slowly beginning to break into the Lyon side before his move. Could go on to great things in the future.

Fwd-Chris Payne

Signed from Aussie outfit North Queensland. A decent attacking option with youth on his side. Could be a good bit of business by Gould.

Mazola-1.jpg

Fwd-Arruda Mazola (pictured above)

Mazola is firmly expected to make an impact at Bradford. Posseses a lot of talent and has a great footballing IQ.

And those are your Bradford Summer additions 2010. More may follow depending on funds, but this crop of newcomers make Bradford a cracking side ready for the new campaign in League 2. With so many options, nobody can be sure on the starting 11 for the season opener, but no matter who's put out, it will be a strong and talented side.

QPR manager Ben Harris brings in new signings as he prepares his side for a promotion challenge. Here are the players he's recruited for this upcoming season.

Mendes Sylvinho

A quality left back with bags of experience, having performed at the highest level of football, Ben Harris will be hoping he helps control scenes in the changing room and training giving valuable advice. He will be a certain starter for QPR's first game of the season.

206mq0g.jpg

Per Kroldrup

A quality centre back that will be quick to adapt to the championship. Ben Harris will be looking to Kroldrup to be a first team regular, and form a strong partnership with Peter Ramage at the back.

Thomas Kahlenberg

In the past QPR, have lacked a quality box to box centre midfielder. One of Ben Harris's priorities was to bring in a someone who can control the game and tempo. This is exactly what Harris expects from Kahlenberg will again will feature frequently in the starting side.

15i9aoh.jpg

Suarez Jeffren

With interest from Leeds and Boro, Harris was keen to wrap up this deal quickly, Jeffren being his first signing as manager. The attacking minded player will bring flair and and an eye for goal. Jeffren is also considered one of the future talents of world football, so be sure Harris will bide his time with this player. As we can expect big things from the 22 year old this season. Watch this space.

David Bentley

The one and only loan signing by Harris this season comes in the form of talented wide man David Bentley, in a season long loan. Bentley will be looking to prove to Redknapp why he first splashed out over £15 million on him to take him from Blackburn.

Ajauro Ilan

Picked up as a free agent, Ben Harris couldn't believe his luck. He'll see Ilan lead his frontline and expect 20+ goals from the lethal frontman this season.

That's it for now at Loftus road, Ben Harris has promised the fans two permanent signings that'll bolster the promotion push he has promised. There going to be a team to watch this season, which no doubt will feature nearer the play off places than the latter.

Ben Harris is glad to announce his final two signings for the 2010/11 season. They come in the form of two defensive minded player's who will add stability and depth to his squad.

ayvn0h.jpg

Nelson Rivas

Signed for £2 million from Inter, he will add depth and experience to the heart of the QPR defence. At the age of 27, Rivas has many years to look forward to at the ever progressing QPR.

14wuame.jpg

Gojko Kacar

A £6.5 million signing from HSV, at 23 Kacar is one of the world's rising stars. A defensive midfielder, who will no doubt create a strong partnership with fellow summer recruit Thomas Kahlenberg.

With the season starting tomorrow, it may be too soon for Rivas and Kacar to feature in the starting line up to visit the Riverside stadium, but be sure that they will make an impact this season and help QPR become a force to be reckoned with.

UNITED HELD TO DRAW

An expected defensive game as both teams are playing in their first fixture, Norwich are a side with Nigerian Vincent Enyemea and England legend David Beckham.

8th minute: Leeds were first to threaten a Bradley Johnson cross racing across the goalmouth

38th minute: Wes Hoolahan hit the post with a one-on-one.

A boring match but Hirst said a vital point, in a tough-ish away game.

Next up Huddersfield Town in a friendly, then Barnsley then... MIDDLESBOROUGH at home (a very, very big match).

Dissapointment as QPR are crushed at the Riverside

After a boring first half with the sides tied at 0-0, Boro had dominated possession. That trend carried on throughout the second half, after finally breaking the deadlock at the 55th minute.

GOAL!! - Kevin THOMSON smashes it with venom into the roof of the net!

Then straight from kick off it seemed the QPR defence had switched off again in the 58th minute.

GOAL!! - Kris BOYD nonchalantly lobs it over the advancing keeper!

QPR seemed to be getting back into the game but with Heidar Helguson wasting several oppurtunites they were made to pay when Boro made it 3-0 in the 81st minute.

GOAL!! - An amazing goal by Leonardo BONUCCI! The keeper had no chance! Were running out of superlatives to describe this guy! He's on fire!

QPR responded with a mere consolation goal in the 89th minute.

GOAL!! - Adel TAARABT finishes from a yard

"We lost to a strong Boro side, Stian Garberg has really made them a top team. We'll bounce back with our next game at home to Norwich city. Where we can hopefully get our first 3 point's of the season and start from there."

Re: EC 7151 | Transfer News and Match Reporting Thread |

TOWN SCRAMBLE AND JUST HOLD ON FOR A DRAW

The opening game of the season came with great excitement and hope for Huddersfield Town, whose chairman has put manager Mark Preston under great pressure expect him to make a push for the Division 3 title.

The Colchester Community Stadium was the venue for the opening game, 8,695 people turned out to witness a bore draw with which in total honesty the home team should have taken all 3 pts, 18 shots on target against the away team's 8, none of the 26 on target shots troubled the scorers.

11: There is uncertainty in the defence before Peter CLARKE kicks it clear just prior to a rash tackle by Kemal Izzet, the result a yellow card for Izzet while Clarke carried off, with, what was later shown to be a broken leg, out for 12 weeks!

Half - Time - news came in from Hillsbrough that Sheffield Wednesday are 4-1 up and the MK Dons 4-0 up away to Bournmouth.

78: Gary BORROWDALE sets up an attack, but the chance is fluffed and goes wide.

80: Gary BORROWDALE gains control of the ball and hits a lovely thirty yard ball up the pitch

Highlight of the game was the 2 new Town's signings, Borrowdale controlled the midfield well while Iain Hulme grabbed the Man of the Match award.

Town have a friendly arranged against Leeds Utd tomorrow, then that's followed up by 2 home games against Bournmouth and Peterborough Utd, so despite an away point to start the season, Manager Mark Preston is looking to take the full 6 pts from the next 2 games.

Plymouth earn a big away victory on opening day

Plymouth come out on top in a well talked about opening day battle at Coventry City. Days before this match, newspapers where putting out all kinds of stories on this match up. Both teams being hyped to finish at the top of the table.

Plymouth manager Skies knew very well what he wanted to do, and he certainly communicated that well with his team. Going into Coventry City and taking a big opening day away victory from this match up.

Plymouth Captain Luca Castellazzi looked sharp very early on.

9' A great effort but Luca CASTELLAZZI is equal to it!

Luca Castellazzi was great today with a match rating of 8, but also had outstanding defense in front of him helping to his first clean sheet of the season.

Edson Braafheid had a wonderful game as well also finishing with a match rating of 8.

44' The crowd are on their feet applauding after some magic on the ball by Edson BRAAFHEID

It wasn't tell the second half that we saw the first goal at the sixtieth minute.

60' GOAL!! - A long ball over the defence is superbly controlled by Aaron RAMSEY who volleys past the motionless keeper!

After that, great defense then soon leads to another goal.

62' Antunes DIOGO cannot find anyway through the defence

72' GOAL!! - The ball is played square to Andreas OTTL on the edge of the box who rasps home a screamer!

After great goals by Ramsey and Ottl, all that was left to do was defend and get out of there with there hard earned victory.

77' Some hard tackling by Mark BRESCIANO, contributing to his teams defence

Possession was also key in Plymouth's victory, out possessing there opponent an incredible 68-32.

Man Of The Match Award goes to Plymouth Captain Luca Castellazzi.

Quote from Plymouth manager Skies

"It was a heck of a game, and we performed it exactly how we had planned. We wanted to go into City and come out with an away victory. I am very proud of my guys for the way they performed today. We all learned quiet a bit from our opening game, and it will be useful as we continue on during this long season. Tomorrow we go into a friendly match, and we'll try to improve on some of the not so great things we saw from today. We'll also use that to get ready for the weekday match vs Carlisle United. We are all very excited to play our first home match on Wednesday in front of our wonderful fans."

Plymouth win in a game that see's two red cards

Plymouth for the second game wait to score until the second half, putting up 3 to win the game 3-1 over Carlisle United. The game was definitely not without drama however as Plymouth lost a man in the 34th minute to a straight red card.

34' Red Card RED CARD - A horror tackle in the middle of the park leads to a straight red for Sergio SÁNCHEZ

The first 7 minutes of the second half said a lot to how the rest of the game would finish with two goals and a straight red card for Carlisle.

First goal came from Plymouth being a man down as Freis finds the back of the net.

47' Goal GOAL!! - The short corner is picked up by Sebastien FREIS who curls it round the unsighted keeper!

50' Goal GOAL!! - An inch perfect cross from the wing is met by the towering Francois ZOKO, who nods home!

51' Alerted to the danger Andreas OTTL heads it out of play

52' Red Card RED CARD - Graham KAVANAGH is shown a straight red after a petulant kick at his marker

Having the game back to even at 10 men a piece, it only took Plymouth 12 minutes to take the lead.

64' Goal GOAL!! - Edson BRAAFHEID pokes the ball past the defender on the line following a goalmouth scramble! Not one for the purists but they all count!

Tom Cleverley saw his first start in todays game and was a welcome addition, having a match rating of 8 and looking great on the ball.

59' Great vision and passing by Tom CLEVERLEY

Braafheid was able to help up the tempo late in the game which lead to a third goal for Plymouth to help secure there second victory on the year.

77' Edson BRAAFHEID manages to up the tempo

79' Goal GOAL!! - Mark BRESCIANO finishes off a slick passing move with a clever finish!

Plymouth lost there striker Sebastien Freis to a chest injury in this game and will be out for 5 weeks. Leaving manager Skies' decisions to make in his lineup. He will also have to replace Sanchez for 3 games for his red card he received in this match.

Quote from Plymouth manager Skies

"I'm happy again with the way our guys came out and played today in our first home game. Especially when going down to 10 men and still fighting strong. I thought we played really well outside of a few things. Again, you learn game by game and we'll hit the practice field to correct these things for our next game.

It's tough losing players to injury, we'll miss Freis these next 5 weeks. We wish him a quick recovery so that he can return to us quickly and get right back in our lineup.

Sanchez will have a lot of proving himself to do in training. He knows he let his team down by getting a red card. He seems to be having a difficult time adjusting to things here. He knows he's a welcomed addition to this team however, he just needs to really prove himself now in training and stay fit. Show not only me, but the team and our fans that he is deserving to have that right back position.

Until then, we'll be just fine at that position. We have some depth to fill that spot with guys who will want to go out and prove themselves as well."
