EASY, EASY, EASY!

brunocesarcopy.png

Bruno Cesar Celebrates his 3rd goal in 6 games.

Rotherham United carried on their brilliant start to the season with a 7-0 romp against Burton Albion. The marvellous display was led by Felipe Andre with 4 goals making him joint top goal scorer of division 4. It was also a debut to remember for Arruda Mazola scoring two goals with fellow Brazilian Bruno Cesar also getting on the score sheet. The fantastic display means they stay top of the league with a hard away game against Southend next. Manager Mark Dean spoke to us after the game. "This is an emphatic victory for us, we definitely deserved this victory. I hope we can get a win at Southend on Saturday. I was very pleased with Arruda Mazola's performance, fans were starting to question why I had bought him but not played him yet. I wanted him to get used to the style of play." He also stated in a later interview that he probably will not be looking for any more players for his team. "We have a good strong squad, we don't want too many, otherwise there will be a lot of unhappy bunnies come end of the season".

Match Preview

HARD, HARD, HARD?

rooney-celebration.jpg

Tough game expected.

In other news tickets for the English Cup round 2 against Manchester United have been sold out. There was high demand for tickets for the game at Old Trafford, which will take place on the 13th September. Rotherham are expected to play a weaker side due to a match against Southend 2 days before the clash. However it is also thought that Manchester United may play a weakened side too, due to their ambitions to win the league this season.

Odds of course are favoured for Manchester United to win. If you bet £1 on Rotherham beating Manchester United you will get £500 back.

Can Rotherham defy the odds?

FANTASTIC FELIPE

fantasticfelipecopy.png

Felipe celebrates his first goal out of two which made him top scorer of division 4.

Rotherham beat promotion contenders Southend to carry on their unbeaten run in the league to 11 games. The opener was a right foot curling shot from outside the area which glided just inside the far post by Felipe Andre in the 12 minute. He then added a second when a mix up in Southend's midfield enabled him to run through and confidently slam a low shot past the Greek goalkeeper Fanis Katergiannakis with 18 minutes gone in the first half. 11 minutes later Southend got a goal back in the form of Jack Colback, who is on loan from Sunderland, but could not grab the draw. This win also meant that Rotherham are still top of the league ahead of Shrewsbury by 3 points and Southend in 3rd by 4 points. The two goals made it Andre's record 8 goals in 6 games and is now currently top scorer in division 4. Manager Mark Dean said these words "We were very happy with this result and I think Andre's performance was simply magnificent. Our next match is against Manchester United which will be a hard game, but will we have to try our best."

Match Preview

Rotherham's next game is the English Cup round 2 against Manchester United, Signorini Robinho is expected to play in this game, which is his first since he suffered an injury against Oldham Athletic. He could've played in the match against Southend but Mark Dean did not want to take any chances.

The question on other teams lips is how Mark Dean does it? How will they stop Felipe Andre from ripping up their defence? How do they shoot past the shot stopper Julio Cesar? The answer is, you can't.

ROTHERHAM CRASH OUT

Michael_Owen_1467497c.jpg

Owen ripped up Rotherham defence.

Rotherham have been knocked out of the English Cup after losing 5-0 to Manchester United. The result even before the game was inevitably going to happen, but this is no shame to Rotherham as they were playing a much weaker side than usual due to fitness issues. This lose also marks Mark Dean's first competitive lose as manager. From the word go United were dominating the play with Owen scoring in the 2nd minute of play and going on to score a hat-trick.

Hernandez and Welbeck both got a goal on the score sheet. The game also featured Signorini Robinho of Rotherham who has recently come back from injury but was taken off at half time in the hope that he will be able to play in

Wednesdays game. Mark Dean said these words about the result "We should not be disappointed with ourselves, this game was against a much better team than us but we fought our hardest. We now have to look forward to the next league game and the English shield and hope we get further in that."

Player Ratings:

Bolded numbers are ratings.

M HOMAMI 6: Is showing manager Mark Dean why Julio Cesar is first choice and not him.

T FERLAND 5: First match for Rotherham against one of the biggest sides in the world, struggled but will develop in the future.

J GREEN 6: Another young player that will only benefit from this match.

L BROWN 6: Nothing special, may not break into first team for a long time.

P MOROSINI 5: Tried his best to make devastating passes to the strikers but they could not run onto them.

C ERBES 5: Showing promise, could break into the starting XI in a matter of months, maybe weeks.

D ROSE 5: Manchester United's LB and RB stopped Rose from making brilliant runs down the wing.

S ROBINHO 7: Just recovered from injury and not being at full fitness, considering, this was a fine performance by the Brazilian.

A KRCIC 5: Picking up a pointless yellow card really made him scared of tackling due to not wanting to be sent off

R FUNES MORI 7: Similar to Erbes, will break into starting eleven soon.

M HOLZ 5: Played well considering the opposition.

Subs:

J CESAR Not used

L ASHWORTH Not Used

60th minute R ARDILES 6: Not enough time to show what he can do.

60th minute H EPHRAIM 6: Was low on fitness but played well overall.

60th minute P TROFIN 6 Not enough time to show what he can do.

WHAT A SHOW

andrecelecopy.png

Felipe Andre celebrates his 10th goal of the season.

Rotherham United showed why they are the dominant force in division 4 with a 4-0 win over Tranmere Rovers. Tranmere never really got going, with Rotherham dominating the game in every department. The possession stats showed it all Rotherham:65% Tranmere:35%. The game's first goal came from Arruda Mazola who sadly got injured in the process of celebrating with a bruised thigh, he should be back on the 27th of September. A goal by Andre made the game more comfortable and relaxing for Rotherham with Miguel Palanca adding a goal to make it 3 goals to nil. Felipe added a second to continue his great form over the past games, manager Mark Dean said these words "Felipe is doing great, it is unbelievable how much we paid for him, but we must not forget about the trusty defence line, (julio) CESAR, (nino) PARAIBA (Vital) DEDE and (craig) CATHCART are all doing great and keeping the team afloat, the teams we face have not got a good defensive line, which is why Felipe scores so many". Rotherham now have an unbeaten run of 12 games and are looking to extend this in the coming games. The next fixture is against Brighton and Hove Albion away from home.

Player ratings:

1 J CESAR 10 Proving once again why he is number 1

2 N PARAIBA 10 Magnificent display

3 C CATHCART 1 yellow card 8 Fantastic, however yellow card 'dulled' down performance.

4 V DEDE 10 Gave it his all and it showed.

5 P MOROSINI 8 Low on fitness after cup game, not surprising he wasn't at his best.

6 B CESAR 1 yellow card 8 Good passes, silly yellow card was not needed.

7 M PALANCA 1 goal 9 Miguel is back on goal form after being moved to a WING position as opposed to FWD where he started at the start of the season.

8 E GOLASA 10 2 wonderful assists for the Israelite wonderkid.

9 A MAZOLA 1 goal 10 Man of the match with a brilliant goal, sad to see him injured while celebrating such a good goal

10 F ANDRE 2 goals, 1 yellow card 8 Who can stop this kid? He is amazing

11 S ROBINHO 9 Brazilian man is back on form after injury.

Transfer news/misc

HENRIKSEN HEADING TO ROTHERHAM

Despite manager Mark Dean's claim that he was no longer searching the transfer market, it looks like he was just too tempted to let this one go through the net. Norwegian Markus Henriksen, is expected to be unveiled as a new player when photos of him in a Rotherham shirt were leaked last night. The gaff was accidentally posted online by club photographer David Watts. However critics are saying that it is photoshopped because they can tell by the pixels and have seen better photoshops in their time, has anyone told these critics that Rotherham's photographer uses a very primitive camera?

markushenricksoncopy.png

Is it shopped or is it real?

Mark Dean has yet to comment on the rumour but he has withdrawn his statement about not searching for any more players. If the rumour is true, Henriksen is expected to be a replacement or a backup for Defensive Midfielder Piermario Morosini as at the moment there are no other players that play the position. Another player that is rumoured to be off to Rotherham is Michael STEPHENS of LA Galaxy.

SUPER STEPHENS

Michael-Stephens.jpg

New signing Michael Stephens.

Rotherham United have signed two new players to beef up their squad size after recent key players have been injured or been "not match fit" while their has been not enough replacements. The two new signings Markus HENRIKSEN and Michael STEPHENS were unveiled yesterday following a picture of Markus Henriksen wearing a Rotherham shirt was leaked on the Rotherham forum by a Photographer who has now been sacked as it came apparent that it was not an accident. He was also sacked after we broke the news that he was using a primitive camera to take his photos and not a high class camera which is boasted he has in his yellow pages advert.

Leaked.png

Leaked photo we showed in yesterday's report.

Michael Stephens was signed for 100k from LA Galaxy and Henriksen 475k from Rosenberg BK. Mark Dean is delighted by the signings and even thinks that these signings could go on to become "world class". We'll have to see about that Mr Dean. In other transfer speculation, Masoud HOMAMI is expected to leave the club once his transfer ban is over (which is until the 11th of October), on the Rotherham site it left the message "Though his time was short, he played a vital role in getting us a good start to the season." The transfer is expected to be a player exchange which may include cash.

BEATEN

Rotherham's unbeaten run of 23 games spanning 2 months and 16 days, has ended. Also Rotherham's "Most League Games Won in Row" of 10 games has ended too. Rotherham knew this game was going to be tricky and put out all the top guns to fend off their opponents. But in the end Oldham were just too strong. A fantastic header by Paul Dickov put the visitors in front but another header by Eyal Golasa made it level again. Rotherham were holding tight and not letting Oldham attack however Paul Dickov showed up again and headed the ball into the net to make it 2-1. 4 minutes later all hell broke lose when Piermario headbutted Alex Marrow and getting himself sent off. The subs that were brought on helped rotherham's game flow more but it was too little to late for the team that is top of Division 4. Rotherham boss Mark Dean had this to say to us "We tried our best, but we couldn't succeed against a clearly much better side than us, we just have to look forward to next game and hope we can get back to winning ways". Rotherham's next game is against Bury who are 18th in the league. Rotherham are expected to win this game with ease but without play maker Piermario, it could be a lot harder.

In other news we have compiled a graph showing Rotherham's and currently 2nd place Southend's points throughout this season so far.

TURNING POINT?

GalvinPaul_HeadInHands_100208111419.jpg

2 games ago, if you asked Rotherham's manager Mark Dean if they were going to get promoted automatically, he would of replied something a long the lines of "quite likely". 180 minutes later, and things have all changed. Their 9 point gap has slumped to 4 points over 2nd place Southend who are closing in fast. Defeat to 4th placed Oldham last game and now a 0-0 draw with a Bury who are in 19th has left the Don Valley shaking with nerves.

What was expected to be a walk in the park turned out to be very different. Rotherham just couldn't get going. Once they did get going it was only 20% of what we have got used to seeing. 22 shots, yes that's all well and good but when you only get 7 shots on target and none in the back of the net something is wrong. Where was Felipe Andre? The same man that was supposed to be unstoppable. He didn't look the like the man who is leading the league's top scorers with 24 goals. After the match Mark Dean spoke to us saying: "I thought we could forget about the last match defeat, however I was wrong. I am very disappointed in this result, this time we should of done better. I just don't know what is going on, I hope it is nothing to fret about, I hope that we can get our form back. I really do hope it is nothing much than a 2 game dip in form. Because if it's not and Southend win their next match and we don't, the gap will only be 1 point."

Alarm bells are certainly ringing.

Match report will be added tomorrow.

Schweinsteiger Ready To Rock Rotherham

wus1hj.png

Rotherham should be running scared according to schweini

Bastian Schweinsteiger has declared that Manchester United are ready to rock Rotherham as they did last year in the English Cup. However two things have changed this season. The first thing is the competition, instead of the English Cup it is the shield and it is much further into the competition -round 4-. The second thing is significantly more important; the quality of the sides. Last season, Division 4 high flyers Rotherham, did not have the quality to contain Manchester United. This season the quality have improved greatly, sadly for Rotherham fans, the same can be said about Manchester United's squad. Players like Juan Mata are only reserves. Manager Mark Dean spoke to us yesterday looking forward to the match. "I am extra pumped up for this match as Lee Dennett, (the manager of Manchester united) called back Craig Cathcart without warning me. He then goes onto to sell the bright young thing to Blackpool for 2.5 million." He also informed us of the type of squad he would be sending out to play against the red devils. "I won't be revealing too much, however on loan Lukaku will be starting against Manchester United." Lee Dennett has yet to comment on the game.

In other news many famous names in the game are backing Rotherham to do the double by winning the league and the english cup. Rotherham have had a fairly easy route to the English Cup quarter finals and face Dagenham & Redbridge on Monday next week. Odds of them winning the treble are notably larger as getting past Manchester United will be a hard test.

Transfer Gossip

Finally, Mark Dean has announced that Felipe Andre could be leaving soon in a part exchange deal. The player involved in the part exchange deal has yet to be revealed. Andre who scored 44 goals in 33 appearances last season has struggled to make it into the starting line up with only 6 appearances and 4 goals to his name. In comparison, team mate Lukaku has managed to get 14 goals in 15 appearances.

GOTZE HAS GOT CONFIDENCE

tumblr_lhrmi3WKI01qepqwoo1_500.jpg

Mario Gotze is ready for division 2

Wonderkid Mario Gotze has declared that Rotherham are ready to rule Division 2 next season. Gotze, who joined 1 month ago in a part exchange deal which saw Markus HENRIKSEN & Manuel SUTTER going the other way to Borussia Dortmund, is confident that Rotherham will dominate division 2 as they have done with in division 3 and 4 the past 2 seasons. Mario, 18, has been an instant hit with the Millers scoring 5 goals and supplying 6 in only 12 games. Rotherham have still not secured automatic promotion, but with Southend 10 points behind with 8 games left fears of not getting automatic promotion have eased. Alarm bells started to ring when Rotherham suffered a 4-1 defeat to 10th placed Huddersfield. But a win against Ipswich who are third in the league has left Rotherham with one hand on the trophy. Manager Mark Dean insists they are not getting complacent and says that they will continue fighting with the same spirit and belief as they have done all season.

SANE SO CLOSE

Ludovic-Sane-Marouane-Cha-001.jpg

Sane frustrated about move breaking down.

While speaking to french magazine l'equipe, Ludovic Sane reveals he was 1 hour away from signing for Rotherham. The deal was expected to be a part exchange deal with Georg NIEDERMEIER however it has recently been disclosed that the move fell apart when Rotherham could not fund the move. A club representative for Rotherham said that all reports on this are false and the club is in good financial standing. Mark Dean has also failed to comment.

RIBERY TO ROTHERHAM

Franck-Ribery-002.jpg

Ribery is said to be eager to play under Mark Dean

Rotherham's rise up the table, after a poor start to the season, is set to continue after another world class addition to the South Yorkshire side. It is thought that Rotherham splashed out a huge 25 million to land the French pass master from Bayern Munich. Ribery, 28, has expressed his delight at joining 7th placed Rotherham. His words on the move were "I am very happy now. I know this club will continue to grow. I want to be part of that". Eagle eyed Rotherham fans may have also noticed that Japanese international, Kagawa, was not on the squad list on the back of Saturday's programme. It has been rumored that 22 year old has left the team for a fee around 25 million.

We hope for Europe

manuel_1299714a.jpg

Neuer urges for a final push.

Manuel Neuer is hoping for an exciting end to the Barclays Premier League, with Rotherham only 6 points of the champions league spot with 11 games to go, anything could happen. German International, Neuer, has encouraged his team to keep up the good form. "It will eventually come, we can do it!" was tweeted last night. With 4th placed Chelsea having lost 6 games in a row, Rotherham are widely tipped to take advantage of this incredible loss of form. Mark Dean declared "We need warriors for this final push, I am happy with my team, we can... no WILL do it!"

Whatever happened to.... #1

Felipe'ing Hell

QUMbm.jpg

Filled with regret and anger at what could've been

4 seasons ago if you asked the Rotherham faithful about a certain 19 year old Brazilian you would've heard words like "amazing" and "wonderkid" being used to describe him. Commentators were running out superlatives to describe the boy wonder who was touted as the next Ronaldo. Sound familiar, miller fans?

Of course, it's the one season wonder: Felipe Andre.

With 44 goals to his 33 appearances, Mr Andre felt he was unstoppable. However he wasn't the only one that felt that way. Southend manager, Matthew Dean, even went as far to describe him as the next Ronaldo. Saying that now, would land you a job as a comedian. After Rotherham's promotion, the pacey forward soon forgot how to score and found himself relegated to the bench. Rumours started to spread around Yorkshire that Felipe was spotted in a club a night before his final match. These rumours gained credibility when Felipe had an atrocious last game. This eventually lead to the part exchange deal involving Lille which saw Moussa Sow go the other way. A lacklustre season with Lille gave way to 2 seasons of club hopping. Both Bordeux and Dynamo Kiev felt that his calibre was far from their club's standards and was eventually loaned out by the Kiev.

Now at Atlético Mineiro, Felipe's standard has fortunately risen. A move back to Europe is allegedly in its first phases however doubts have been cast over Felipe's attitude. In recent times he has looked tired and stressed. Last week he even snapped at a reporter for asking if his pregnant wife was fine. "It is none of your business" he replied sharply.

Will the wonder kid ever be able to find his feet again?
