STIFLER ARRIVES IN BERN

Stifler has become the new manager of BSC Young Boys of Bern. The Swiss side are badly in need of driving forward and I'm looking forward to making an impact in GC5 with them.

The new European Champs* can probably spare you a few loans next season if you wish.

STIFLER ANNOUNCES THE FIRST 'BATCH'

Young Boys have been busy spending some cash to get a reasonable set of players that will give us a foothold in the division whilst I work my magic.

The below represents the squad/team as it stands today.

UCHIDA SIGNING A REAL COUP

47265_488292424017_629794017_6817769_7306177_n.jpg

The premier signing of Young Boys recent spending spree has to be 22 year old Japan international Uchida. Whilst the market in these older GC's is extremely difficult - if we can pick up players of this quality from time to time, Young Boys will be challenging the worlds elite in no time.

REAL BETIS 3 - 3 YOUNG BOYS

Daniel Montenegro is the hat-trick hero for Young Boys as they collect a vital SMFA Cup point at Betis to build on the impressive victory over Internacional last time out. We are now on 4 points, equal to group leaders Man United in a very tough group.

We are still undefeated and 2 points clear at the top with 12 games gone.

Played George's Elfsborg on Wednesday, the game ended 4-4.........conceding 4 goals against George:eek: Needed to do something about my goalkeeper after that.

Mark SCHWARZER has completed his move to IFK Göteborg from Middlesbrough for £5,500,000

Found Schwarzer at unmanaged Middlesbrough, goalkeeper was always a issues in my first spell at Göteborg so very happy to have signed Schwarzer.

Have money issues now(like at all my teams) so will have to trim the squad a bit .

FLYING FULLBACK PAPA CAN LEAVE

Due to high levels of competition for his place, Emiliano Papa can leave Young Boys for a nice cash bid or a p/e deal for any other position.

May throw in Atsusho Uchida with Papa for an 89+.

First Trophy for new FC København manager

A brace from Simone Pepe helped FC København to a 2-3 victory over Hammarby IF in the Scandinavia Shield final. It was the first trophy for new manager Aaron Burns. Burns, who returns to GC 5 after being out over year, had somewhat successful spells with Sunderland, Parma and CSKA Moskva, leading the Mackems to an SMFA Shield final, and lifting the Russia and Ukraine Cup with CSKA. Burns' first moves were to strengthen both attack and defense, splashing cash on central defender Ruano Alexis and playmaker Andrea Cossu, both from VfB Stuttgart.

København began the campaign for the Scandinavia Shield with an emphatic 5-0 victory over Malmö FF in Burns' first game in charge, and followed that up with nervy 1-0 victories over HJK in the quarter-finals and IFK Göteborg in the semis. Pepe opened the scoring in the 24 the minute of the final, only for Hammarby to equalize just two minutes later. A 76th-minute goal for Anthony Modeste of Hammarby canceled out Alexis' tap in just after half time, and the game looked to be heading to penalties until Pepe made a great run and chipped the keeper to seal the victory for København. After the match Burns said that he hoped this would be just the first of many trophies and that he hoped to get København back to the top of the league and equal some of the great achievements of previous København managers.

Re: Gold Championship 5 official match thread

I took control of Shakhtar a couple of months back and so far no complaints. We have a firm grip on the 1st place spot in the Eastern European League with 19 games gone. We're 11 points clear of 2nd place Dnipro. More importantly we are 13 points clear of Spartak Moskva, our main rivals in terms of quality.

We recently managed to avenge our humiliating Shield Quarter Final defeat against Spartak Moskva by beating them 2-0 in a crucial league encounter.

Our performances in the SMFA Cup have been nothing short of fantastic. We comfortably won Group A with a round remaining which was a good achievement considering we had Chelsea, Newcastle United and Panathinaikos to keep us company. Looking forward to seeing how we perform in the knockout stages.

Some transfer business was done during my first week at the club with the aim of filling a few holes within the squad:

  • Sinan Bolat from FC Kobenhavn for £9.5M
  • Roman Neustadter from Accrington Stanley for £8.2M
  • Willem Janssen from AS Monaco for £7.7M
  • Georg Niedermeier from Werder Bremen for £4.0M

We also added Patrick Bamford and Will Keane to the youth squad.
