EC 42. Turn 11. Review

Many predicted FA results happened today as we saw Chelsea overcome league leaders and an amazing round of goals at Villa Park.

(2) Arsenal 3 - 1 Wigan (10) - The game started quickly with few shots on goal before Henry opened the scoreing on the 16th miniute but with Wigan bouncing back to 1-1 just 60 seconds later it looked like we had a game on our hands. Arsenal in fact dominated with goals in the 22 and 42 miniutes with no reply from Wigan.

(5) Aston Villa 5 - 4 Man Utd (13) - Game of the season, with goals of the season we saw it all here. Villa stormed into the match with 3 early goals before conceding 1 before the break. Man utd cam out to the second half and looking like pulling it back after Fletcher scored on the 48th miniute. But when Villa got on the counter attack and scored 2 quick goals it looked far from over, and when Giggs limped of in the 63 miniute the game was over. Man utd pulled 2 back but couldnt scrap a point.

(7) Birmingham 0 - 3 - Man City (9) - It was end to end stuff in the early part of the game before Sibeirski Volled home. It wasnt before long that Reyna made it 2 with the game losing its tempo. The match drew on with a few close chances before Sibierski grabbed a second to seal the match.

(17) Charlton 0 - 1 Fulham (4) - Just one goal settled this tie and it came from Brian Mcbride on the 53rd miniute. Charlton took mst of the shots but couldnt put them away. Manager Joe Step is unhappy about the 2 reckless challenges on Herrarsson and Sorondo which has sidelined them for 2-3 weeks.

(6) Liverpool 3 - 0 WBA (15) - Another good performace from Liverpool which only took flight in the second half. 2 goals from Robbie Fowler settled the game after a mix up in defence which let Xabi Alonso score. An injury for either side: Wright Phillips (3 weeks), Paul Anderson (6-8 weeks)

(19) Middlesbrough 0 - 0 Everton (18) - A poor match all round, good chances wasted and a 1 man performance in the Everton side as Man Of The Match Canizares saved Everton the point.

(1) Newcastle 0 - 2 Chelsea (3) - A great match today at St. James Park and a close one too. Some great defensive play from Chelsea kept them equal peggings in the first 30 miniutes. The most unlikely of scorers came up with the goods to fire Chelsea in the lead with a thundering effort. (Carvalho). We saw some lovely passing from either side and as Drogba made way for Essian on the 80th miniute we thought Chelsea were sitting back until he was free to place the ball in the net from 15 yards. Titus Bramble is also a doubt to make the rest of the season after a 18 week injury! Get well soon Titus.

(12) Portsmouth 5 - 1 West Ham (20) - Will Shorts men were outstanding today at Fratton park as they showed West Ham what it takes to be in the Premiership. Hughes stole the show with 2 great goals. Olisadabe took some smiles off the Portsmouth fans faces as he limped off late on. Many say West Ham need a new formation as yet again it was stormed today.

(11) Sunderland 2 - 2 Bolton (16) - 4 Goals in the second half decided this one as they were scored in the space of 15 miniutes. New signing Jay Jay Okocha and ex Bolton captain grabed the black cats the goals as Davies and O'Brien got Boltons. Cadwell was injured for Sunderland but might be back next saturday.

(8) Tottenham 2 - 0 Blackburn (14) - Spurs showed their defensive class today as the feilded 3 signings of this year at the back, and it was the captain and the only Defender to play for Tottenham last year Ladley King to open te scoring on the 7th miniute. Jenas grabed the second half way through the first half before being sent off late in the game. Blackburn had more chances but couldnt get them past the England #1.

Match Of The Day: Villa Vs Man Utd.
