cant make a poll cos theyre are two many options- but what is the best formation(might of been asked before sorry)-but i did use the search tab!so u cant tell me off!!!

No probs, I can edit polls to keep adding more, which I dont think non-mods can do (could be wrong, but done now - longest poll ever!! )

i tend to use 3-4-1-2, 3-5-2, and 5-3-2 the most.

half of them I have never tried!!

I use whatever suits the squad. Mostly it's a 4-4-1-1 for me. Although a huge fan of the 4-3-3 and the 3-4-1-2 formations

is there any best formation? i dont think so...u need to know wats ur opponent's formation will be used...and use the weaknesses of his/her formation to him

e.g

3-4-1-2 usually can beat 4-3-1-2

Guys please listen this is big if your new or stuck deeply on tactics with your squad.

There ISNT And I Repeat IS NOT A best tactic on Soccermanager.com, there isnt in real life either!

What might make you think theres a best tactic is team play out different formation for different games, sometimes they can win no matches with the formation, others the go on a season long run picking up points! Who knows?!

What im trying to get across is you cannot have a BEST FORMATION You need to test out different ones to match out the occasion.

Cant say alot as fellow forumers will feel pleasured to find o0ut my in-death tactics to winning games.

If your honestly stuck, and i know i dont play you Private message me and i'll help get you used to SM tactics and to know the venue better

i think i have found the best formation on SM,,

i have played 4-4-2 all this season on SM and i'm wigan with not many good

players..but i am unbeaten to Arsenal.chelsea, liverpool and man u

i beat chelsea 5-1 anyway

i think 4-4-2 is one the best out there..people try not play is cause everyone

does but i would stick to that..

anyway i do think its more luck than formation..to win on SM

like my Man u team lost 6-2 and i got 3 players sent off in the first half

how do you work that out i dont go in hard

but anyway try them all and see what happens

Formation does affect the result of the game but team style is important too. I usually play 5-3-2 at home attacking and 5-4-1 away defensive. Unbeaten in 9 games in a row and won 7 of them. The unbeaten run ended when my forward was redcarded last week during my away match.Lost 3-1 That's why is a bit risky to use 5-4-1 away as I have the only one forward up front. So, I have changed to 5-3-2 both home and away.

I have a squad with good midfielders, so i prefer 5 MF formations, gives u lots of possession. Very useful, i won quite a few games with formations like 451 and 4321. i only use 3421 when my defenders are unavailable to play.

is impossible to say what his best tactic..

it's the mistery of football..

we could talk if is better an offensive view.or more defensive..to the wing or through the middle..technical or strenght based..but everyone of us have his own tactic..

correct but it doesnt always work-it is what i use for some of my teams -so yes

XXX, I tend to play RM's and LM's there.

If i dont have them I play CMs.
