DIVISION 4 PREDICTIONS

League2.gif

Dagenham & Redbridge - Tranmere Rovers

Tranmere Rovers travel to Victoria Road full of confidence after thrashing Wycombe 5-0 last time out whilst the hosts are struggling to find there feet in Div 4. The Daggers will have to drastically improve if they are to get anything out of this one.

Dagenham & Redbridge 0-3 Tranmere Rovers

Wycombe Wanderers - Northampton Town

Not the best of starts for Northampton this season and no doubt they'll be looking to put that right here, Shehan's Wycombe coming off a 5-0 drubbing last turn means both sides have something to prove, could be a cracker

Wycombe Wanderers 2-2 Northampton Town

Shorpe United - Shrewsbury Town

Hugh Latimer's Shorpe welcome Shrewsbury Town still looking for there first win of the season. The Shrews have had a decent start to the campaign and currently sit 9th. Tough one to call but with home advantage I fancy Scunny edging this one.

Shorpe United 2-1 Shrewsbury Town

Rotherham United - Brighton and Hove Albion

Rotherham go into this one on the back of a heavy loss at New Meadow but The Seagulls come here in fine form sitting 3rd in the table after two wins from the opening three. Brighton being the form side and stronger on paper surely means the 3 points will be going back to the AMEX Stadium but with the in form Andre Souza firing on all cylinders the Brighton back four will have to stay focused.

Rotherham United 2-3 Brighton and Hove Albion

Bristol Rovers - Leyton Orient

Should be a corker in store at The Memorial Stadium as Bristol Rovers meet Leyton Orient. Both sides have had solid starts to the season sitting 6th and 7th respectively. Colin Kazim is the division's leader scorer with 4 in 3 games and will be looking to continue his hot goal scoring form.

Bristol Rovers 1-2 Leyton Orient

Colchester United - Southampton

Table toppers Southampton head to Weston Homes Community Stadium looking to dump more misery on Colchester boss Infernito. Colchester currently sit 18th and it's hard to see them getting anything here.

Colchester United 0-2 Southampton

Brentford - Burton Albion

Brentford play host to Burton Albion at Griffin Park with the away side in much the better form. Burton are unbeaten so far picking up an impressive 7 points so far whilst The Bees have had an indifferent start to there campaign and sit mid-table. Brentford with it all to do here to stop Burton marching on.

Brentford 1-4 Burton Albion

AFC Bournemouth - Southend United

Josh Harman's Bournemouth sit bottom after 3 games and have yet to pick up a point, they host Johan Alberts Southend and Harman will certainly be hopeful of picking up his 1st points of the season. Southend picked up a solid 3 points at home to Swindon last time out so will be looking at this as a very winnable game. Tough one to call but I fancy the home side getting some points on the board.

AFC Bournemouth 1-0 Southend United

Swindon Town - Chesterfield

Chesterfield boss Angus Taylor takes his side to the County Ground and with both sides on the back of a loss, neither side will want to lose. Chesterfield have adapted well to Div 4 thus far sitting 5th in the table and I cant see past another 3 points here.

Swindon Town 1-2 Chesterfield

Accrington Stanley - Gillingham

Accrington Stanley host The Gills and with both sides winning last time out we should be in for a good contest. Gillingham currently sit higher in the table after back to back wins but Accrington have won the past 3 meetings between the two sides. Tough one to call, could be a great game.

Accrington Stanley 2-2 Gillingham

DIVISION 3 PREVIEWS

Millwall - Aston Villa

Millwall suffered their first defeat of the season Wednesday evening while Aston Villa slipped up again, leaving them floating just above the relegation zone. Craig Braidwood will no doubt want to get back to winning ways at The Den and maintain the pressure on the teams above. Will Trafford will also be desperate to pick up points as to no slip into the danger zone.

Millwall 2 - 2 Aston Villa

Portsmouth - Stockport County

Both teams enter this fixture on the back of impressive wins and neither side will be short of confidence. Jack Simpson will be delighted to see his lads sitting at the top of the table, and will want nothing other than a win at Fratton Park to ensure it stays that way. Stockport have endured mixed fortunes so far this term, having won 2 and lost 2 so the fans won’t quite know what team is going to show up on Saturday night.

Portsmouth 3 - 0 Stockport County

Peterborough United - Crystal Palace

Daniel Hart will be disappointed at his sides start to the season, picking up only 3 points out of a possible 12, and as a result sit in the bottom 3. Crystal Palace sit around the half way point and will be relishing the opportunity to play at London Road and pump more misery onto Peterborough.

Peterborough United 1 - 2 Crystal Palace

Exeter City - Reading

An in form Exeter host Reading who are sitting at the root of the table and will be fully expecting a positive result from his lads. Reading Will be bitterly disappointed with their start having lost all 4 games and will know that a change in results has to come fast to ensure they do not get left behind, however it is still very early days, and they will be confident of a turn around.

Exeter City 1 - 1 Reading

Leicester City - Walsall

Both sides will enter this fixture wanting to build some consistency and climb the league table having yet to really get going this term. Tony Harman will be preparing his lads for a tough encounter and will know that to walk away from the Walkers Stadium with any points will be a great effort from his side.

Leicester City 2 - 0 Walsall

Hartlepool United - Sheffield Wednesday

With Hartlepool sitting just outside the play-offs, they will be aware that a good result will be needed to make that break through into those much sought after league positions. Sheffield Wednesday go into this game with different objective however, sitting at the opposite end of the table, with only 3 points to their name, and will know that any slip-ups could see them slide further down.

Hartlepool United 2 - 2 Sheffield Wednesday

Yeovil Town - Aldershot Town

With both sides sitting at the head of the table, this promises to be a great fixture with both sides believing they can win the game. Yeovil Town will be full of confidence going into this match, having won 3 of their 4 games and like Aldershot, remain unbeaten, a stat that come Saturday evening, one side is sure to lose.

Yeovil Town 2 - 3 Aldershot Town

Oldham Athletic - Barnsley

Oldman will be relieved to be back Boundary Park having suffered a heavy defeat on their travels Wednesday evening. However playing away provides Barnsley with the opportunity to escape their home crowd after suffering a slow start to the season. Having one just of their 4 games.

Oldham Athletic 1 - 2 Barnsley

Hull City - Ipswich Town

Ipswich town be relishing the opportunity to get back onto the turf after thumping Oldham Wednesday night, scoring 4 goals in the process. Hull City endured a very different evening, losing to a good Derby County side. Both sides will want a win here and it could make for a great game.

Hull City 1 - 2 Ipswich Town

Derby County - Notts County

Both sides picked up victories in front of the home crowd last game and will relish the thought of back to back wins. Derby will feel they go into this game with the advantage, expecting a great atmosphere from a packed out Pride Park. Jonny Eller will be know that an early goal from his lads could silence the crowd and put some pressure on the home team.

Derby County 3 - 1 Notts County

DIVISION 1 PREVIEWS

SMH's Views may offend.

SMH's Previews -Turn 5:

Division 1

Norwich City 1- 1 Huddersfield Town

-both teams have got 4 points on the board early which is good for survival, I see this being a score draw.

Bolton Wanderers 2 -0 Queens Park Rangers

=Bolton look to have enough in the locker to deal with QPR and shouls takr the 3 points easy.

Manchester City 2 -2 LIVERPOOL

-City are unbeaten againt the Poll and its Messi v Rooney here .A share of the spoils looks likely.

Sheffield United 1 - 3 Leeds United

-Leeds should dispose of Sheffield like yesterdays garbage as Sheffield have been poor and look likely to struggle .

Manchester United 3- 2 Bristol City

-Bristol City beat Man United last time out but I think SOP will gain revenge here in a high scoring game..

Everton 1- 3 Arsenal

-Arsenal fresh from beating Man UNITED last time out have nothing to fear from Everton.Easy 3 points.

Fulham 1-1 Milton Keynes Dons

-MK Dons are stuck on 1 point and Dom will be hoping they stay like that for a bit longer.I see a draw here.

Newcastle United 1 -3 Wolverhampton Wanderers

-Newcastle are flying but I think they will get there wings burnt here with a defeat to Wolves who are no mugs as they proved by whitewashing Dom 4-0 last time out.

Chelsea 2- 0 Middlesbrough

-Chelsea,Chelsea,Chelsea I hear them cry and thats just from the demonstrations outside, I think Chelsea will kick back to life and dispose of the Canadian adn get there first points on the board.

Tottenham Hotspur 1- 1 Nottingham Forest

-I tipped Spurs last time out to beat Chelsea but Forest are no Chelsea so I see a hard fought draw on the cards here.

Division 4 Predictions

Npower%20League%20Two%20Logo.png

Northampton Town - Tranmere Rovers

Should be in for a great encounter here as two of the divisions giants meet at Sixfields. Tranmere will be full of confidence after picking up back to back wins scoring 11 goals in the process but Northampton are certainly no pushovers and with home advantage will fancy there chances against anyone. Certainly not a lot between the two sides, could be a belter.

Northampton Town 2-2 Tranmere Rovers

Shrewsbury Town - Wycombe Wanderers

Wycombe travel to Shrewsbury hoping to improve on there poor early season form that sees them down in 18th place. A win here is vital to get there season back on track.

Shrewsbury Town 0-3 Wycombe Wanderers

Brighton and Hove Albion - Shorpe United

Brighton will come into this game hoping 3 points will be enough to propel them into a play off spot. Scunny are yet to win a game this season and they will have to be at there best to change that here.

Brighton and Hove Albion 3-1 Shorpe United

Leyton Orient - Rotherham United

Undefeated Leyton Orient welcome The Millers to The Matchroom Stadium hoping to continue the trend but with Rotherham coming off a good win against Brighton this will be a stern test to Orient's resolve. Both sides will be hoping for a win to keep up with the play off pack but someone has to lose, or do they?

Leyton Orient 2-2 Rotherham United

Southampton - Bristol Rovers

The Saints sit top of the table having started the season in impeccable form picking up maximum points so far. Bristol Rovers, without a win in two will be looking to bounce back but will need to pull out all the stops if they are to leave with anything.

Southampton 1-1 Bristol Rovers

Burton Albion - Colchester United

Winless Colchester head to high flying Burton Albion hoping to turn the tide. Burton sit in 2nd undefeated in the opening 4 and winning the last 3. Colchester will be hoping the in form Diego Costa can continue his form in front of goal, Infernito wont like it but I see another long afternoon for his lads.

Burton Albion 3-1 Colchester United

Chesterfield - AFC Bournemouth

After a solid start to the season Chesterfield's form has dipped, losing the last two. Josh Harman's Bournemouth are still the only side in the division yet to pick up any points and will be looking to put that right sooner than later. Can Harman stop the rot?

Chesterfield 1-1 AFC Bournemouth

Gillingham - Swindon Town

The Gills host Swindon at Priestfield with history suggesting a draw being the likely outcome. The last three meetings between the two sides have ended in a score draw but both sides will be looking to change history and walk away with the spoils.

Gillingham 2-2 Swindon Town

Accrington Stanley - Dagenham & Redbridge

Newly installed Stanley boss Wayne Harman will be looking to get off to a winning start as his side host struggling Dag & Red. Having lost 3 on the bounce the Daggers sit above the drop zone only on goal difference. After a rocky start Accrington have won two straight to see them climb into the promotion spots and with all players looking to leave an impression on the new gaffer Dag & Red have it all to do.

Accrington Stanley 2-0 Dagenham & Redbridge

Division 1 Previews and Predictions

69dc8e3c23670110e114c9003e95501c.jpg

Season 5 - Turn 6

Nottingham Forest vs. Norwich City

Forest's rollercoaster history in 7046 has been more unpredictable than Charlie Sheen, with 2 promotions, 1 relegation and finishing in the top 4 of Division 1 in their second season. Their squad isn't as ageing as it used to be and they still are a one-man team like usual (:P). Their start to the season has been decent and here they come up against Rob's new team Norwich who would be performing quite a miracle if they don't go down, they'll look to Berbatov and N'Zogbia to produce magic moments and get them results. I will probably get this prediction wrong but I'll go for a draw.

Forest 1-1 Norwich

Huddersfield Town vs. Bolton Wanderers

In this fixture, Huddersfield have the weaker team and less Division 1 experience than Bolton who have talented players such as Robben and Valdes. The Trotters will have their work cut out here though with Huddersfield having home advantage as well as being unbeaten in 4 matches, winning 3 of those. I can still see this ending up as a Bolton win.

Huddersfield 1-3 Bolton

Queens Park Rangers vs. Manchester City

QPR enjoyed a successful campaign getting promoted last season and so far they haven't made the best of starts with naturally having one of the weaker teams in the division. City on the other hand have gone beyond the baby steps most of their players were capable of in a torrid previous season and they now find themselves in 3rd place. Predator better hope his symmetrical tactics don't backfire on him or David Luiz decides he wants to outshine Messi ;) Other than that, City should win this game unless QPR do something special.

QPR 0-2 City

Liverpool vs. Sheffield United

Liverpool are a squad full of stars, somewhat of a parallel universe to their real-life counterparts ;) Their form matches the talent with them picking up a decent 9 points out of 15 so far. As for my team, we are doomed.

Pool 3-0 Sheffield

Leeds United vs. Manchester United

The Whites are having a good season so far with them being the only unbeaten team in these 5 games, that could all change though with United as ever managing to pick up results they way they normally do. This is a tricky one to predict, Torres will have to be on his best ... ahem ... form to get past Reina. I can see this ending in frustrating draw for both teams.

Leeds 1-1 United

Bristol City vs. Everton

Here we have one manager that have made a staggering amount of transfers, and one that prays someone will want any of his players other than Gotze :P Bristol have astonishingly propelled into 1st spot above teams that would've pulverised their decrepit squad a season back, but now they are far stronger and have hit the ground running so far. Everton aren't doing that bad either with them lying in 6th spot so far, an improvement on last year, I'll have this down as a Bristol City win, his old team will come back to haunt him ;)

Bristol City 2-1 Everton

Arsenal vs. Fulham

This match has the potential to be even more exciting than a marathon of Countdown  Both teams are in good form so far like most of the teams around them. The referee will have his work cut out tonight though with Busquets, Dani Alves and Pedro keen to retain the spotlight amid Andy Carroll taking an invisible arrow to the knee. I can see both of these teams aspirations to win the league resulting in an anti-climatic stalemate. However Fulham do have Koscielny so they should in theory automatically win ;)

Arsenal 2-2 Fulham

Milton Keynes Dons vs. Newcastle United

The Dons have made a poor start to the season with only 1 point so far accumulated, Di Natale and Cisse have obviously lost their shooting boots. Toon on the other hand are enjoying a good start and will look to getting as many points on the board while they are still in touching distance of 1st. I think this will end as an MK Dons win, that will kick start their season.

MK Dons 2-1 Toon

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. Chelsea

Wolves are having a great season so far and look set to capitalise on Chelsea's poor start to the season with their good form and home advantage favouring them. You can see why Chelsea are struggling, so many big names that would prefer to run the club themselves rather than manager ;) I think that Wolves will make the most of Chelsea's form and sneak a win.

Wolves 1-0 Chelsea

Middlesbrough vs. Tottenham Hotspur

Both these teams have made dreadful starts in contrast to last season's success. Boro have also only managed 2 goals so far, Casillas has really lost his way, where will the goals come from now? ;) RVP and Ibra haven't lived up to their godly statuses with only 2 goals between them. Both teams will look to catch up with the teams above them and not fall behind at this early stage. I can see this being won by the team who knows didly-squat about tactics.

Boro 0-1 Spurs

Portsmouth - Millwall

This top of the table clash promises to be a cracker with both sides enduring great starts to the campaign. Jack Simpson will be the more confident of the 2 managers as he invites Millwall to Fratton Park, having seen his side win their last 6 games.

Portsmouth 3 - 0 Millwall

Peterborough United - Aston Villa

Peterborough United 2 - 2 Aston Villa

Exeter City - Stockport County

Both managers go into this game having seen their sides slip up Wednesday night and will be fully focused on stealing all 3 points at St James Park. With only a point separating them in the league, it promises to be a great game with plenty of chances.

Exeter City 3 - 1 Stockport County

Leicester City - Crystal Palace

Both sides enter this fixture full of confidence after picking up good wins Wednesday evening, with Crystal Palace climbing up into the playoff spots. Leicester have failed to really get going this term and will be looking to pick up some consistency.

Leicester City 1 - 2 Crystal Palace

Hartlepool United - Reading

Hartlepool welcome Reading to Victoria Park in 2 days time hoping for their third win on the bounce, whilst Reading on the other end of the scale, having only picked up 3 points from their last games. Hartlepool United 2 - 0 Reading

Yeovil Town - Walsall

The Saddlers travel to Huish Park Saturday, with manager Tony Harman urging his lads to forget about Wednesday night and grab all 3 points. Yeovil Also slipped up in their last outing but still find themselves just outside the automatic places and will want to sweep Walsall aside tonight with no mistakes.

Yeovil Town 3 - 1 Walsall

Oldham Athletic - Sheffield Wednesday

The Owls go in search of back to back wins Saturday against an Oldham side who have struggled of late and find themselves sitting in the relegation zone. The Latics know how important a home win is here and will go into this game wanting none other than 3 points.

Oldham Athletic 2 - 0 Sheffield Wednesday

Hull City - Aldershot Town

Both sides go into his game looking for consecutive wins to keep them battling away in the top half of the table. Daniel Ratcliffe will want nothing less than 3 points at the KC Stadium and will be pushing his players to go out and attack.

Hull City 3 - 2 Aldershot Town

Derby County - Barnsley

Derby's impressive form of late has propelled them into the playoff places and against a side that suffered a drumming Wednesday and are sitting just above the relegation zone, The Rams will expect no less than 3 points from Pride Park.

Derby County 3 - 0 Barnsley

Ipswich Town - Notts County

Jonny Eller's side travel to Portman Road Saturday evening having drew their last 2 games, whilst Ipswich were beaten comfortably at home in their last outing. Another game at home will prove Ipswich with the opportunity to put things right in front of the home crowd.

Ipswich Town 1 - 1 Notts County[

Re: English Championship 7046 Previews & Predictions Thread

The Championship

NpowerChampionship.jpg

Turn 7 – Weekend Games – 7-4-12

Cardiff-1.png Cardiff City - West Ham United WestHam.png

It’s been a rough start to the season for Cardiff with just four points so far that see’s them in 19th place. The squad is a decent one at this level so they should be able to pick up points soon, though they might find it hard going against West Ham. They have only minor injuries to worry about coming into this game however.

It’s been a solid start rather than a good one for The Hammers, but its a side full of quality and they should do well this season. They have no injuries ahead of this game however and the manager will be able to field a strong side.

Looking at the two sides it’s obvious West Ham have a better starting eleven, and with form taken into account it seems an away win is most likely.

Cardiff City 1 - 3 West Ham United

Charlton.png Charlton Athletic - Plymouth Argyle Plymouth.png

Charlton have began the season much as they finished the last, generally good but patchy in places. The side this season though is taking shape, some players are developing well and some smart loan additions mean they look stronger than this time last season. They have no injuries coming into this game.

Plymouth have improved after a rocky start and have climbed away from the foot of the table. That climb has come at a price however and they have several key players injured or suspended as a result. It’s a reasonably strong side at this level, but I have to wonder how much those missing players will affect them.

Despite missing several players Plymouth look stronger on paper. The reality is that Charlton have been a better team for the most part though and with home advantage added to their better form I think they will come out on top here.

Charlton Athletic 2 – 1 Plymouth Argyle

Bury.png Bury - Birmingham City Birmingham-1.png

Bury have not had the best of starts so far this season and look like they may struggle. While the manager is known to be an experienced tactician he hasn’t been able to work so effectively in the transfer market and the side look relatively week at this level as a result. Some solid loans have given more depth, but they need more quality as well. They have no injuries to worry about ahead of this game.

Birmingham have not been great so far this season and find themselves too close to the drop zone at this early stage for comfort. It’s a fairly strong side despite having several players that look to be on the decline and may go close to the play offs if they can improve. They have some injury concerns ahead of this game but have enough depth to cover this.

Neither side have been in good form so far this season, but Birmingham have been the better of the two and look to have a stronger staring eleven, and for that reason alone I will have to predict an away win despite being a closet Bury fan.

Bury 1 – 2 Birmingham City

Wigan Athletic - Burnley

Wigan have been impressive this season so far and rightly find themselves in second place. The manager has invested heavily in his youth squad but has not neglected his first team either and they look fairly strong at this level. Coming into this game however they have several key players missing.

Burnley have been in very similar form to their hosts Wigan, but a tighter defence has put them on top of the table by goal difference. They also look to be quite a strong side at this level though maybe not quite as strong as their hosts. They also have key players missing for this game.

An early season top of the table clash looks promising here and with both sides looking very similar could be a very interesting gone to watch. With very little between them I can’t see either side doing enough to win this and fancy a draw.

Wigan Athletic 1 - 1 Burnley

Blackpool.png Blackpool - CARLISLE UNITED Carlisle.png

Blackpool have been decent so far but have lost their last two games in a row. They have an average squad at this level, but the majority of their key players look to be in the twilight of their careers and will most likely start to decline soon, and their youth players don’t look like they will make the first team anytime soon either. They have some players missing ahead of this game, but their opposition is rubbish so it probably won’t matter.

The Carlisle manager is officially rubbish. Fact. Despite possessing a strong team at this level he has failed to get his side going so far this season and the side find themselves down in fifteenth place. They were an utter shambles in their last game as they went down to a poor Wigan side while the manager was out scouting his next obscure 12 year old youth prospect in Taiwan. They have a massive squad full of talented players and a large number of good youth, but much like the English national team they seem to win despite their manager rather than because of him. Expect “Maddison for England” rumours to begin soon. They have had some key players missing recently but should have enough depth to cover this.

Despite Carlisle having a stronger side this neutral pundit expects Blackpool to narrowly win this one 43-0.

Blackpool 43 – 0 CARLISLE UNITED

PNE.png Preston North End - Blackburn Rovers Blackburn-1.png

Preston are another side with big expectations that have so far failed to deliver. The side have just one win this season so far and look to be sinking at this early juncture. They are however in possession of several world class youth prospects and I expect they will become stronger as the season goes on, but they need to be picking up points now and not in several months time.

Blackburn have been performing ok so far this season, but the sides main stars look to be a spent force and a number of them continue to deteriorate, but the manager has managed to bring in some fresh blood that should improve as well. They have a few players missing ahead of this game but should be able to cover those positions.

Blackburn look stronger on paper and with their better form it’s hard to look past them despite being a admirer of the Preston manager.

Preston North End 0 – 2 Blackburn Rovers

Doncaster Rovers - Swansea City

Doncaster have arguably the weakest squad in the league, so the manager has done a good job to pick up the points he has so far, credit to Daz (real name CCFC94). They do need to strengthen is several areas but as Norwich proved last season, a lack of big ego’s does not necessarily mean they can’t have a good season, it just makes is more unlikely. They are mostly fit coming into this game so the manager can field his strongest line up.

Swansea have been playing well so far this season and find themselves just off the playoff spots. This pundit’s favourite Welshman has been active in the transfer market again as he looks to strengthen his team further and he has brought in some key players this season. They also look like a side that will grow stronger as the season goes on and will undoubtedly be a force to reckon with in the near future.

Swansea have the better side, of that there is little doubt, and while Rovers have been punching above their weight so far this season I can’t see them getting much out of this game.

Doncaster Rovers 1 – 3 Swansea City

Rochdale.png Rochdale - Sunderland Sunderland.png

Rochdale look like they could be this seasons Norwich. Despite possessing a side than is generally weaker than most in this league they have picked up a good number of points this season and are on course for promotion. Some good loan players have been picked up by the manager and that has helped them out so far but they could do with some strengthening in key areas. The come in to this game with no injuries so the manager can field his strongest eleven.

Sunderland got off to a flying start but have dipped alarmingly since the and the manager needs to ensure they don’t repeat last seasons spectacular collapse. They have easily the strongest side in this division and should be a shoe in for promotion, but not the way they are playing at the moment. They do have several players missing ahead of this game which won’t help.

Sunderland have a far stronger team on paper, and are ahead of Rochdale in the league, and while Rochdale’s form has been better than Sunderland’s in recent games I’m not sure they have enough quality to beat them

Rochdale 1 – 1 Sunderland

Coventry City - West Bromwich Albion

Coventry have been playing ok so far this season without being great. However some mismanagement has meant that the side have played two games in 3 days and the majority of the players appear to be struggling for match fitness as a result. The notoriously media shy manager has again disappeared when his side need him and it looks like the assistant manager Mr Blobby will be in the dugout out on Saturday. Coventry will need to shuffle their entire side ahead of this game.

West Brom have suffered the worst start to the season of any of the sides in the league and have lost every game so far. They have a decent team at this level and really should be doing better than they are, but much like Leicester last season simply cannot get going. They have only minor injuries ahead of this game and the manager should be able to field his strongest side.

Because of Coventry looking completely unfit for this game I believe The Baggies will pick up their first win of the campaign to kick start their season.

Coventry City 0 -2 West Bromwich Albion

Watford-1.png Watford - Stoke City Stoke.png

Watford, much like Coventry, have been in decent form, but they have also played the same team twice in three days and as a result left the first eleven not match fit. The side isn’t a particularly strong one at this level, and with not much quality depth look like they will really struggle here.

Stoke have some minor injuries coming into this game, but their starting eleven will be superior to anything Watford can field match fit or not. They have been in good form this season and currently sit just inside the play off places.

Stoke are a stronger side than Watford, and with Watford struggling for fitness, I can’t see past Stoke for this one.

Watford 0 - 2 Stoke City

Note: As I’m limited to 15 images for 20 teams some have missed out on having their logo displayed... It’s unfortunate, but so was the Burton manager cancelling my deal for Strootman after I’d already paid for the “Welcome to Carlisle” adverts with his face on....

Division 4 Predictions

League2.gif

Shrewsbury Town - Northampton Town

John Harman's Shrewsbury welcome Northampton to New Meadow looking for his first win as Shrews boss. Northampton, comfortable 3-0 winners last time out come here in decent form and full of confidence. Shrewsbury will have to improve to get anything here.

Shrewsbury Town 0-3 Northampton Town

Brighton and Hove Albion - Tranmere Rovers

Free scoring Tranmere head to Brighton looking to continue there bright start to the campaign and will be looking to influential striker Johan Elmader to once again pull the strings. Mixed start to the season thus far for Mark Preston's Brighton having begun the season brightly but 1 point from 9 has seen them slip down to 13th. No doubt Preston will be looking for his lads to bounce back but can he they keep Tranmere out? Tough ask..

Brighton and Hove Albion 2-3 Tranmere Rovers

Leyton Orient - Wycombe Wanderers

Orient seem to be the divisions draw specialists having drawn 5 of the opening 6 but remain undefeated while Wycombe have yet to get there season off the ground. 4 defeats from 6 see's them hovering dangerously close the the drop zone and will be looking to pick up some points so's not to get sucked into the bottom 3.

Leyton Orient 1-1 Wycombe Wanderers

Southampton - Shorpe United

Early pace setters Southampton entertain Shorpe at St Mary's. The away side have only won 1 of the opening 6 games but Latimer's side will see this as a chance to make a statement and kick start there season but with The Saints in fine early season form surely there's only one outcome?

Southampton 2-0 Shorpe United

Burton Albion - Rotherham United

The Robins travel to the Pirelli Stadium faced with the tough task of stopping high flying Burton Albion. The Brewers have won 5 of the opening 6 and sit 2nd in the table level on points with Southampton. After a solid start to the campaign Rotherham's form has dipped a little of late and they're without a win in 3 so will be looking to put an end to there barren patch sooner rather than later.

Burton Albion 2-2 Rotherham United

Southend United - Bristol Rovers

Southend are currently one of the form sides in Division 4 having won 5 on the bounce which will no doubt mean confidence is sky high at Roots Hall. Rovers sit in 15th and have it all to do here if they are to earn a share of the spoils.

Southend United 4-1 Bristol Rovers

Chesterfield - Colchester United

Following AFC Bournemouth's win last time out Infernito's Colchester slip to the foot of the table having lost 4 straight and yet to win this season. Chesterfield have had a fairly decent start to the season and currently sit 6th. They'll certainly see this as a chance to push on and keep the pressure on the top sides.

Chesterfield 3-1 Colchester United

Gillingham - Brentford

Gillingham host Brentford in a tie neither side will want to lose at the risk of being sucked into the relegation zone. Both sides are without a win in 4 and will be desperate to put that right. Good old fashioned dog fight.

Gillingham 1-1 Brentford

Accrington Stanley - AFC Bournemouth

Huge game in store at the Crown Ground as Harman meets Harman. It's the big one, a game both managers will be desperate not to lose with pride on the line. Bournemouth managed to get off bottom last time out with a solid 2-0 win at home to Gillingham whilst new Accrington boss Wayne Harman is yet to taste victory from the Stanley dugout. Which Harman will get the bragging rights?

Accrington Stanley 1-1 AFC Bournemouth

Swindon Town - Dagenham & Redbridge

Dag & Red head to the County Ground desperate to end a run that see's them yet to pick up a win this season. Swindon's poor early season form is fast improving, 7 points from the last 9 has seen them rise to 10th and only 2 points off a play off spot. Being the form side with home advantage, it could be another miserable day for Daggers fans.

Swindon Town 2-0 Dagenham & Redbridge

Turn 7 Previews – part 2

407.pngFulham vs. Bristol City 236.png

4th vs. 3rd

Somewhat surprisingly this match could well be billed as game of the day as 4th placed Fulham host 3rd placed Bristol City. Relegation favorites Fulham have had a Bazinga of a season so far, losing just once in a 4-0 thumping by Wolves. City though have continued to build on their excellent form from the previous campaign and are deservedly sitting pretty up in 3rd. Both teams actually have topped the table at some point this season and so will head into this one brimming with confidence. A real tough one to call, with arrows flying aimlessly from both sides. Surely a draw is on the cards as both teams are set to cancel one-another out.

Prediction: Fulham 2 - 2 Bristol City

Red-Arrow.jpg

Expect the red arrows to be on full display at Craven Cottage today

409.pngNewcastle vs. Arsenal 413.png

7th vs. 11th

2 of the most enigmatic teams in the league come face to face at St. Geordie’s Paaark in a promising encounter. Newcastle are of course enjoying their usual strong start but will inevitably screw it up as always in the last third. Arsenal, well, who knows what Arsenal will do under new boss Jozua. They’ve been mighty disappointing so far, but even their mixed beginnings are a vast improvement on the past 2 hapless Arsenal managers. With a host of stars on display put this down as one of the most entertaining games of the day. Newcastle are stretched though with a couple of key injuries and so while you should rightly expect goals galore, pleasingly most of them will be going to the away side.

Prediction: Newcastle 2 - 5 Arsenal

524.pngChelsea vs. MK Dons 423.png

20th vs. 19th

You can’t but help laugh at Chelsea and all of their talent, floundering away at the foot of the table with a minus 9 goal difference. And go on, admit it, you’d just love to see them go down wouldn’t you? Wouldn’t you?! And 6 games in, what’s with no wins and just 3 goals scored between these two sides?! The Dons sure are a tough cookie, but their real strength comes at home. Chelsea just can’t be this bad for this long and while confidence is at an all-time low they have got to turn a corner sometime. Sorry El Kapitan but expect that sometime to be today. And with the riches on display at Stamford Bridge expect that sometime to be in spectacular fashion too!

Prediction: Chelsea 5 - 0 MK Dons

608.pngSpurs vs. Wolves 206.png

15th vs. 1st

I hold my hands up, just how do Wolves do it? With a squad that looks nothing special on paper, year after year they turn out some tremendous performances, as shown by their leading of the pack at this early stage. Spurs by contrast are traditionally slow starters, more often than not gathering pace and coming good late in the season. Surprisingly the star paring of Ibrahimovic and Van Persie have misfired so far, but we all know that it’s only a matter of time. Wolves will make it tough for the once-champions here but class should best brawn in a win for the beautiful game.

Prediction: Spurs 3 - 1 Wolves

389.pngMiddlesbrough vs. Notts Forest 522.png

13th vs. 12th

Ah, a trip down memory lane here as these two long-standing rivals come head to head once again. Overall Boro have had by far the upper hand, doing the double in Forest’s exceptionally bad season 3, knocking Forest out of the SMFA Cup quarter finals, and of course coming out on top in the thrilling division 2 race back in season 1. Still, Forest have bloodied Boro’s nose on the odd occasion too, notwithstanding piping them to 3rd place in division 1 back in season 2 after title-chasing Boro dramatically imploded. Still, perhaps it is right to live on past glories given that ‘decline’ is a word that is popularly branded about for these 2 clubs, with player after player dropping in ratings. Forest in particular are feeling the heat after recent hits to aging center-backs Nesta and Juan. As always Forest’s fortunes today rest on the shoulders of Iniesta, playing in the hole just behind the front man. If Boro can shut him down then with class such as free-scoring Casillas, the world’s best player Xavi, and want-away Augero the 3 points should be theirs. Then again, many have tried before and failed…

Prediction: Middlesbrough 2 - 2 Notts Forest

Division 1

Turn 7 Previews

What with 4 teams sharing the same number of points at the top, with no team unbeaten, and with shock results coming up week after week, division 1’s season 5 is already shaping up to be a cracker! You’d be a brave man to put your money on who the top dogs will be this time around. Still, it’s early days yet. Give it a week or two and things will settle down to a more familiar pattern. Nevertheless, it’s great stuff, unless you’re a poor previewer trying to make head or tail of it that is…

EkFlnhCOV18

Week 7 so here’s Shed Seven and

“Getting Better” (‘cos it really is!)

555.pngBolton vs. Norwich 290.png

14th vs. 17th

A real relegation 6 pointer here with the mercurial Bolton hosting struggling Norwich. All eyes will be on the big man Berba who has spectacularly failed to deliver since his cut-price move from Manchester at the beginning of the season and is already showing signs of depression that spending too much time out in Norfolk has been known to bring. For all the huff and puff that Norwich will bring it’s hard to seeing them getting much out of this one, especially with the likes of Valdes between the sticks for Bolton and Robben pulling the strings upfront. Comfortable home win and things to go from bad to worse for poor old Berba.

Prediction: Bolton 3 - 1 Norwich

alan%20partridge2.jpg

Norfolk in chance for Norwich boss Rob Walshe? (above)

345.pngMan City vs. Huddersfield 422.png

2nd vs. 8th

Nosebleed time for City boss Predator who in atypical fashion has somehow hit the dizzy heights of 2nd. Still, he’s got the wee man now and seems to know how to use him. Expect City to shine in the early part of this season but then drop away faster than a Dudeskin when injuries, cup games and suspensions highlight how they’ve overstretched by putting all their eggs in one basket. In fairness Huddersfield too are having a solid start to the season and should be delighted to be up in 8th. After a shaky first couple of games they’re now unbeaten in 4 but will be tested to the max here. Expect them to try and shut up shop and keep things tight in damage limitation mode. They’ll either do that and squeak a backs to the wall draw or get thumped, most likely the latter...

Prediction: Man City 4 - 0 Huddersfield

444.pngSheff Utd. vs. QPR 411.png

16th vs. 18th

It’s been somewhat of a realty check for newcomers QPR after their opening season win. Still, United too only have 1 win to their name, though that came away at Anfield, much to the delight of Sheffield boss Elton. Still, QPR demonstrated their resilience by winning a fine promotion last season and should be written off at their peril. Expect a bruiser of an encounter here, not one for the purist, with the spoils shared.

Prediction: Sheff Utd. 2 - 2 QPR

210.png Man Utd. vs. Liverpool 155.png

5th vs. 10th

In real life you’d expect a belter of a match here but with former greats United clearly on the decline and the people’s title favorites Liverpool flapping aimlessly with their boss seemingly AWOL again these two once-great clubs appear to be only a shadow of their former selves. The match-up sees the tactically inept one trick pony come up against the thinking man’s tactician, and it’s really how Liverpool choose to counter the predictability of United that will decide this game. Expect a tight game with Liverpool to bounce back from recent disappointments to just edge this one.

Prediction: Man-ure 1 - 2 Loserpool

229.pngEverton vs. Leeds 183.png

6th vs. 9th

There’s been goals galore for Everton fans so far this season, with the league’s second top-scorers also struggling to plug a leaky defence. With injuries and suspensions to first-teamers Walcott and Baines cracks may be starting to appear though in what’s otherwise been an excellent start for the Toffees. Leeds lie just behind them in the league though, hanging off their coat-tails 1 point adrift. On paper Leeds are a solid side and coupled with the tactical acumen of manager Inferno can easily give Everton a run for their money. Delve deeper though and it’s shocking to see how little depth there is in that Leeds squad and they could really struggle later in the season. Not today though, and with every point counting expect Leeds to steal a shock away win.

Prediction: Everton 1 - 3 Leeds

Division 1 Previews and Predictions

Season 5 - Turn 6

Sheffield United vs. Manchester City

I expect that Vik will bottle this and get thrashed but I have a feeling that my run will come to an end against the worst possible opponent :P

Blades 1-3 Man City

Manchester United vs. Bolton Wanderers

Bolton are in poor form and are the minnows here as they travel to a United that are no strangers to pole position in this division, Bolton need a miracle to come out with a draw let alone a win.

Man Utd 4-0 Bolton

Everton vs. Norwich City

Everton have the better form, team and home advantage but I think that Norwich will ****** a late draw. It's Berbatov's time to shine :P

Everton 1-1 Norwich

Fulham vs. Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield will annihilate Fulham :P

Fulham 1-99 Huddersfield

Newcastle United vs. Queens Park Rangers

Newcastle have made a great start to the season, QPR haven't. QPR should therefore win, because this is SM after all ;)

Newcastle 2-3 QPR

Chelsea vs. Liverpool

Both of these teams are in poor form but I think this is the match that Chelsea will finally win.

Chelsea 2-0 Liverpool

Tottenham Hotspur vs. Leeds United

Both of these teams are having a similar start to the season, one which they will hope ends here with a win, but Spurs' quality will prevail on their own turf.

Spurs 3-1 Leeds

Middlesbrough vs. Bristol City

This will be an interesting one to call, Bristol are over-achieving and going strong and Boro are trying desperately to catch up with the leaders if they want to stand any chance to regain their title. I can see this being a draw.

Boro 2-2 Bristol City

Wolves vs. Arsenal

Wolves are also having a great season so far while Arsenal's manager is still coming to terms with having a squad of superstars at his helm. I think Arsenal need to prove themselves and fast if they are to ever achieve anything in this setup.

Wolves 2-1 Arsenal

Milton Keynes Dons vs. Nottingham Forest

MK Dons are having a second season syndrome after doing to well after promotion last season and now languishing down in 18th and in poor form. Nottingham Forest are now back in Division 1 and yet again find themselves in a great position after promotion, I expect them to dispose of MK Dons here.

MK Dons 0-3 Notts Forest

DIVISION 1 PREVIEWS

mark-hughes_1546703c.jpg

SMH's Views may offend.

SMH's Previews -Turn 13:

Division 1

Manchester United 2- 1 Sheffield United

Title favourites Man United are a banker here although Sheffield are flying high after recent results so they might think different about this.

Everton 2- 0 Manchester City

There have only been two recent meetings between the sides with a win a piece both going to the home side,I see no reason for that changing although I doubt it will be as emphatic as the 5-1 wiin Everton gave City last time around.

Fulham 1- 3 Bolton Wanderers

Fulham don't seem to like playing Bolton as could be seen by the 6-0 thrashing they recieved last tme out playing them.Bolton have won 3 of the 4 games between the sides with a 14-2 scoreline in there favour so are an easy pick for the 3 points here.

Newcastle United 2- 0 Norwich City

High flying Newcastle are playng above expectations so should have no fears playing Norwich for the first time in the set up, easy 3 points in the bag for the Toon Army as they hunt down leaders Man U.

Chelsea 2- 0 Huddersfield Town

Chelsea are a side in need of some new ideas as they are struggling big style, but even without the injured pair of Young & Silva they will be confident of taking the 3 points from Huddersfield who are yet to score a goal against them in the 2 previous meetings[1-0& 3-0 wins for Chelsea].Huddersfield are missing Pepe & Schelotto for this game, Huddersfield will be hoping that the new management style implicated by new boss will help them grind out a result here.

Tottenham Hotspur 2- 1 Queens Park Rangers

Spurs season has yet to get started really and even at this early stage a defeat here to bottom club QPR would have the players and management start thinking about what life is like in division 2. This is the first meeting between the sides.

Middlesbrough 3 - 0 LIVERPOOL

Liverpool have registered just 1 win from 4 against Boro but that win was at the end of last season under new management [assistant got the win], Liverpool are struggling in league and with a lt of NMF players it is hard to see them getting any kind of result against Jooles Boro who are tracking that top 4 spot.Hazard misses the game.

Wolverhampton Wanderers 2 - 0 Leeds United

Wolves sit in 4th place and will be loking forward to this game as they are yet to taste defeat in 4 games against Leeds [3 wins & a draw].Leeds are pottering in mid table and I doubt they will be able to match up against Wolves and there tactically minded manager in this game.

Milton Keynes Dons 0- 2 Bristol City

2 wins apeice for the sides in 4 games played head to head but Bristol have won the last 2 games so the tide is definitely turning there way.Mk Dons are sitting in 3rd from bottom place and will need to get the finger out soon or they will become detached from the rest.Away win .

Arsenal 1-3 Nottingham Forest

Forest are cruising in 3rd place and are acting like they have never been

away.Arsenal are yet to find consistency under new management and will have there work cut out here trying to get something from the wily old Forest manager.

Sheffield United 2- 0 Everton

In form Sheffield United [13 points from last 6 games] couldn't have picked a better time to get there first win over Everton as Everton are in dismal form [4 points from last 6 games].Parejo and Mangane missing for Sheffield & Barreto missing for Everton. In form pair for there clubs Gamiero versus Podolski is the match up here to watch.I am going for a home win here.

Manchester City 2- 3 Fulham

In form Fulham [12 points from last6 games] will be hoping that Man Citys 2-0 win over struggling Everton is just a blip and not the start of a good run , City have been struggling [5 points from last 6 games] to get a run together and will not be looking forward to playing Fulham who have beat them the only 2 times they have met.Fulham are missing Munian & Debuchy. In form pair for there clubs Messi v Anelka is the match up here.Away win predicted.

Bolton Wanderers 0 - 2 Newcastle United

Top of the table Newcastle [16 points from last 6 games] are taking on a struggling Bolton side [6 points from last 6 games] who are sitting just above the relegation zone. The head to head between the sides is even 1 win each and 2 draws but Newcastle firmly defeated them 3-0 last time out.Bent and Nasri are the in form players from each club.No injuries or suspensions for either club.Away win predicted.

Norwich City 1- 2 Chelsea

Norwich are struggling as expected with the players available [4points from last 6 games],they face a Chelsea side who got just there 2nd win of the season last time out [8 points from last 6 games].Chelsea should win this as they climb out of the relegation zone but Norwich have started to put together a decent side and have players who can hurt and with Chelseas inconcistencies they might get something here.Cossu & Diomante are missing for Norwich & Silva & Young are missing for the Blues.Berbatov and Tevez are the in form players for each club.Away win predicted.

Huddersfield Town 2 -2 Tottenham Hotspur

Huddersfield are playing above expectations but have not done well of late [6 points from last 6 games] they are playing a Spurs side who have players of quality ,Spurs are on a decent run of form [9 points from last 6 games] and will be looking for 3 points here to move upwards away from the bottom zone.Pepe & Schelotto are missing for the Terriers & Arbeloa is missing for Spurs.Del Pierro and Ibrahimovic are the form players for each side.A draw is predicted here.

Queens Park Rangers 1- 5 Middlesbrough

Top manager in the set up Jooles has his Boro in great form [16 points from last 18] and will be looking forward to 3 points from newly promoted QPR who are in dire form [1 point from last 6 games].Ya Konan and Milito are the in form players for each side.No missing players for either team.Away win predicted.

LIVERPOOL 1- 2 Wolverhampton Wanderers

Liverpool have been in poor form of late [8 points from lasy 6 games ] and they take on 4th placed Wolves who are playing well but have slipped a bit of late [9 points last 6 games].Wolves have won the last 4 games between the sides and will be looking for that trend to continue.Hazard and Alexis are missing for the sides.Drogba & Cassano are the in form players for each side.Away win looks the most likely outcome.

Leeds United 1-1 Milton Keynes Dons

Both sides are struggling to get concistency Leeds [6 points last 6 games] & Mk Dons [7 points last 6 games] the head to heads favour Mk Dons win 2 wins and a draw from 4 games played.Cole missing for Mk Dons.Farfan and Cisse the in form players for each club.Low scoring game Predicted with a draw most likely outcome.

Bristol City 1 - 3 Arsenal .

Bristol City are really struggling [3 points from last 6 games ] and are taking on Arsenal who are in decent form [10 points form last 6 games].I think Arsenal will be too strong for Bristol as they have a great side .Ronaldo & Kiessling are the in form players for each side.Marchena missing for Arsenal. The head to head between the sides is 2 wins each but Arsenal have won the last 2 games.Away win predicted here.

DIVISION 2 PREVIEWS

mark-hughes_1546703c.jpg

SMH's Views may offend.

SMH's Previews -Turn 14:

Division 2

Stoke City 2 - 0 Wigan Athletic

Stoke are in poor form[4 points from last 6 games] they are up against Wiagn who are in good form [12 points last 6 games],Stoke have won the last 4 games between the sides so I think they will bounce back and get 3 points here.

Bury 1 -3 Blackpool

Bury have took 10 points from last 6 games,Blackpool have took 7 points from last 6 games .Blackpool won this fixture last season 7-1 and I can see them winning this one as well with Bury having 3 players missing through injury/suspension although I doubt they will win with such a margin.

Charlton Athletic 2 - 2 Preston North End

7 Rochdale [8 points last 6 games]Two teams at the opposite ends of the table and enduring different form spells ,Preston[4 points from last 6 games] & Charlton [13 points from last 6 games].This game is a close one to call so a draw or a one goal win for either side is the likely outcome.

Cardiff City 3 - 1 Doncaster Rovers

Cardiff find themselves in relegation at this early stage of season which surprises me.Cardiff [7 points last 6 games ] & Doncaster [10 points last 6 games].Cardiff are unbeaten in the 4 head to head games between the sides [3 wins and a draw] so I think they will get a result against Doncaster who are doing well.

West Ham United 2 - 2 Rochdale

Both these teams are in decent form,West Ham [10 points last 6 games] & Rochdale [8 points last 6 games].This is the first meeting between the sides and with both teams pushing for play off spots at least this should be a good game.West Ham are missing two decent players what could make a difference .I think this game will be a share of the spoils in a high scoring draw with Cardozo & Osvaldo amongst the goals.

Plymouth Argyle 3 - 1 Coventry City

A game between two of the worst form teams in the division Plymouth [4 points last 6 games] & Coventry [1 points in last 6 games].Plymouth are unbeaten in 4 games head to head [3 wins and a draw] so that makes them favourites for the win even though Coventry have the better side.

Birmingham City 1 - 0 Watford

Birmingham [8 points from last 6 games] take on Watford [4 points from last 6 games.Watford have the better of the head to head meetings between the sides [3 wins ,1 defeat].The sides are evenly matched but I am going for an odd goal win for the home side due to Watfords poor form.

Burnley 0 - 2 West Bromwich Albion

Burnley and Wesy Brom are in decent form of late [8 points and 9 points from last 6 games respectively] but they sit at opposite ends of the table [2nd & 19th].Burnley have 4 players missing through injury/suspensions and I think that alone is enough for me to call an away win for the relegation threatened West Brom side.

Carlisle United 0 - 4 Sunderland

Division 2's in form side Carlisle [16 points from last 6 games] take on Sunderland who are in great form as well [12 points from last 6 games] in what will be Carlisles hardest game to date against the super strong ratings side of Sunderland.I feel leagues top scorer Adebayor will have his work cut out to get on the scoresheet here as I expect an emphatic away win is on the cards,Suarez & Higuain to run riot.

Blackburn Rovers 3 - 1 Swansea

Blackburn and Swansea are both in decent form [each taking 9 points from last 6 games] the clubs are evenly matched and both will be harbouring ambitions of getting to the Premier this season by way of auto promotion or by the play offs.I think Blackburn will win the game by a couple of goals.

DIVISION 1 PREVIEWS

SMH's Views may offend.

SMH's Previews -Turn 15:

Division 1

Everton 2- 2 Manchester United

Everton have been struggling but I am going to put my head on the chopping block and say they will get something from this game.

Fulham 1 - 2 Sheffield United

I seem to tip Dom to get beat quite a lot and I am doing it again here, Sheffield United to win and leapfrog Fulham in the table.

Newcastle United 1 -3 Manchester City

Newcastle have won the alst 2 games aginst City by 2 goals but I think it may be time for the Toon bublle to burst so I am tipping City to win.

Chelsea 3- 0 Bolton Wanderers

16th v 19th Early season relegation battle? Chelsea will win this with consumate ease.

Tottenham Hotspur 3 - 0 Norwich City

Norwich have been performing above expectations but I can only see a Spurs win here every way I look at it.

Middlesbrough 0 - 2 Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield can't seem to get results against the bigger sides but I am going to tip them for all 3 points here in what would be Huddersfields first win over Boro.

Wolverhampton Wanderers 3 - 1 Queens Park Rangers

Poor QPR they are struggling to win a corner let alone a game, Easy Home win for high flying Wolves.

Milton Keynes Dons 0 - 2 LIVERPOOL

Only 3 points seperate these two struggling sides Liverpool are unbeaten against MK in 5 games but 3 of them were draw, a result which is unlikely to be helpful for either side.Liverpool to win .

Arsenal 2 - 1 Leeds United

Only 3 points seperate the teams who have not won for 3 & 4 games respectively-Arsenal should do enough to get 3 points with Ronaldo the likely looking hero.

Bristol City 1 - 0 Nottingham Forest

Both teams are having a decent season especially Forest who are up in top 4, I can see Bristol closing the gap to just a point between the sides with a one goal win in a tight game.

DIVISION 3 PREVIEWS

SMH's Views may offend.

SMH's Previews -Turn 15:

Division 3

Hartlepool United 0 - 2 Leicester City

Leicester are in woeful form maybe they can get a win against an unmanaged as they havent done so good against managed sides for a couple of seasons.Away win.

Yeovil Town 1 - 2 Exeter City

Great match up between two sides that may be playing in division 2 next season, I am inclined to go with an away win here as they are on fire at the minute.

Oldham Athletic 2 - 0 Peterborough United

Oldham are 6 games without a win bjut will take the 3 points here to dent Peterboroughs chances of the play offs.

Hull City 1 - 0 Portsmouth

Portsmouth are unbeaten in 5 and have great chances of at least the play offs but I think Hull who under new management are yet to taste defeat in the 5 games managed will get the 3 points in a close game.

Derby County 0 - 3 Millwall

Derby are looking to bounce back up from getting relegated last season but there form is patchy .Millwall to inflict Derby's 3rd consecutive league defeat to keep themselves top of the tree for another week at least.

Ipswich Town 2 - 1 Aston Villa

Villa who are rock bottom will be bouyed by that first win in a while last time out and I can see them getting back to back wins at the expense of Play off chasing Ipswich.

Barnsley 4 - 1 Stockport County

Both these teams will be lucky to still be in this division next season on early season form.Stockport with no wins in there last 10 games will lose again.

Aldershot Town 0 - 3 Crystal Palace

Palace are nothing like the side who finished 16th last season, they lie in 2nd place and the extra 3 points they will collect here can see them keep there Auto promotion going against an Aldershot side who have not won in 4 games.

Sheffield Wednesday 1 - 4 Reading

Both these sides are chasing the play offs so I could see a cracker of a game with lots of goals and most of them will be scored by Reading who are on fire with 5 wins on the bounce.

Walsall 2 - 0 Notts County

Both these teams are hovering above relegation so will have to put some results together if they are to latch on to the play off chasing pack.Count's form has been pathetic so a Home win is on the cards.

DIVISION 2 PREVIEWS

SMH's Views may offend.

SMH's Previews -Turn 15:

Division 2

Blackpool 1 -3 Wigan Athletic

Both teams are doing well but the 3 points will go to Wigan against unmanaged Blackpool, Wigan have a strong chance of being promoted m this seaon.back to the Pre

Preston North End 2 - 1 Bury

Preston cant seem to get any concistency and sit rock bottom so Bury will be hoping that continues. The 4 head to heads have went to the home side so I tip Preston to win and move off bottom.

Doncaster Rovers 1 - 2 Charlton Athletic

Donny are in great form and might sneak a draw but I think Charlton will just have too much for them with the form of Crouch and Belhanda.

Rochdale 2 - 0 Cardiff City

Cardiff seem to be a bit lost and I think that Rochdale will take full advantage with a win here that might consign Cardiff to bottom spot.

Coventry City 1 - 3 West Ham United

West Ham have been struggling last few games with injuries and that has affected there form I can see them getting a win here even with there missing players as bar last game Coventry have been poor of late.

Watford 0- 1 Plymouth Argyle

Just 1 win between both sides in last 6 games is not a good sign for the clubs who will both be in relegation zone if the dont pick up points soon.Plymouth will edge this.

West Bromwich Albion 1 - 0 Birmingham City

West Brom are hovering just above the relegation but they have been in decent form, they will have to be against a Birmingham side that have only lost 1 in last 6.I have a feeling West Brom will win by a goal.

Sunderland 4 - 2 Burnley

Match of the Day in Division 2.Burnley sit in 4th place and have only lost 1 of last 6 but they face a Strong Sunderland side who have won last 3 games. Its a home win for me in a high scoring game.

Swansea City 0 - 5 Carlisle United

Match of the Day 2.Swansea are still stalking the play offs despite not winning for last 5 games, they will not be looking forward to this game as Carlisle are in great form despite a first defeat in 6 last time out.Carlisle will win this at a canter in the Banker of the day.

Blackburn Rovers 0 - 3 Stoke City

At the start of season I would have though this pair of teams would be challenging at the top, there is still time for that though as they are both only a couple of points of the play offs.Stoke will compound Blackburn's misery and add to there 4 games without a win with a few goals to spare.

Division 4:Turn 15

Burton Albion 0 - 4 Southampton

Southampton are runaway leaders of d4 they will win this game but by how many?I think by 4 goals .

Southend United 3 - 1 Leyton Orient

Southend are in 3rd place stalking the top two [the place they finished last season] and they will be looking to take 3 points from bottom side Orient who have won 1 game from 1 under new management.I can't see anything but a home win here.

Chesterfield 0 - 4 Brighton and Hove Albion

Chesterfield are in dire form they are stacked with injuries which may be partly to blame, Brighton will easily take 3 points here in a whitewash.

Gillingham 3 - 0 Shrewsbury Town

Can Shrewsbury lay that away demon to rest with there first win away of the season? No is the answer.Gillingham to win by a few goals.

Accrington Stanley 1 - 1 Northampton Town

Northampton are in the better form but Stanley can prove to be a thorn in there play off chasing side. This game has draw written all over it.

Swindon Town 0 - 2 Tranmere Rovers

Both teams have been in patchy form but Tranmere are the better side so I think an away win is an easy call.

AFC Bournemouth 3 - 0 Wycombe Wanderers

Bournemouth are in sparkling form and are unbeaten in last 7 league games so Wycombe will find it hard pushed to get anything from this.

Brentford 1 - 3 Shorpe United

Both teams are showing signs of half decent form that could take them to the play offs this season but I am going to go for an away win after looking at the missing players for each side.

Colchester United 2 -1 Rotherham United

Colchester have won 3 of their last 4 games whilst Rotherham have lost their last 4 game that coupled with the fact Colchester have won both home ties in the head to head between the sides adds up to a home win.

Bristol Rovers 1 - 0 Dagenham & Redbridge

Bristol Rovers have won 3 of there last 4 games and have won the only head to head between the sides, that and the 3 players missing for D&R make it look like a home win to me.

DIVISION 1 PREVIEWS

mark-hughes_1546703c.jpg

SMH's Views may offend.

SMH's Previews -Turn 16:

Division 1

Nottingham Forest 1- 2 Everton

Shacks Everton have yet to beat Mo's Forest in the league but there have only been two ties between the sides.Forest are sitting at a lofty 4th in the league 9 points and 11 places higher but with club talisman Iniesta missing I can see Everton getting 3 points here.

Manchester United 1- 3 Fulham

Its first vs 3rd in the Match of the Day at Old Trafford.Man United were a quality side a few seasons ago and are showing glimpses of that form coming back again but they will have to fare better than they did in the last 2 games between the sides as Fulham boss Boy Wonder has won them both. The rivalry between the two managers will mean bragging rights for a while with a win here and I think Boy Wonder will make it 3 wins on the bounce against Ex-Mr. 352 with cunning tactical display.

Sheffield United 1 - 0 Newcastle United

Newcastle have been in fine form of late and sit at the top of the league but after defeat last time out against Man City the fans will be worried that the downward spiral has maybe started.Sheffield united are just 6 points behind the leaders and are unbeaten in the 3 games head to head against the toon and I can see that run continuing here with a narrow home win.

Manchester City 2- 2 Chelsea

Chelsea seem to have turned a corner and are starting to put some points on the board, they have picked up 8 of there 10 points in the last 6 games.Man City beat leaders Newcastle last time out and will have no fears from an injury ravaged Chelsea, the game looks pretty even so it could flip either way so I am going to sit on the fence and call this a draw.

Bolton Wanderers 2 - 3 Tottenham Hotspur

New manager in at Bolton could be just what the team needs as they are sitting in the relegation zone and badly struggling for points with only 4 points from last 6 games but they will have there work cut out to get anything from a bang in form Spurs side who have taken 12 points from there last 6 games. The plus point for Bolton is Spurs injury list which might be there undoing but I still feel Spurs will get the 3 points.

Norwich City 2 - 2 Middlesbrough

How will Middlesborough react now that they are in a mini slump with no wins in the last 3 games ?[a draw against QPR, a humbling from Huddersfield and a defeat to Sunderland in the Shield] Surely this is a good time for relegation threatened Norwich to hit Boro while they are wounded and get a few more much needed points on the board, forget Lambert Norwich have Big Rob.Norwich to grind out a draw.

Queens Park Rangers 1- 1 Milton Keynes Dons

Both teams are down at the wrong end of the table but couldn't be in more contrasting form Mk Dons have took 10 points from ther last 6 games whilst Basement Bandits QPR have only mustered a paltry 2 points from ther last 6 games. There were signs of life in QPR in there draw with Wolves last time out and another performance like that here can get them a share of the spoils again.Dodgy draw predicted.

Liverpool 3- 1 Arsenal

Liverpool have been struggling for wins and with the side that is at the managers disposal the fans are not happy with recent results. With Drogba & Van Der Wiel missing that will hinder the chances of Liverpool to get there first win over Arsenal after 3 defeats and a draw in the 4 head to head games.Arsenal have a new manager in and the fans are a bit sceptical that the board have brought in a boss from a side who were down in the relegation zone but with better players at his disposal now the Arsenal boss will be confident of getting something from this game.Liverpool to win by a couple of goals.

Leeds United 1- 1 Bristol City

Bristol City are in poor form having only taken 4 points from there last 6 games but they still sit up in 8th place they are taking on a Leeds side who with there win last time out at the emirates casued the manager to quit. There have been 3 draws in the 4 head to head games between the sides and I do not see that stat changing, a share of the spoils is on the cards.

Huddersfield 1 v 3 Wolves

Bothe these teams are in good form with Huddersfield 9 points last 6 games and Wolves 11 points last 6 games.Huddersfield will be full of confidence after the 4-1 win over Boro [Ahmads best Premiership result] but they will have to be on their game as Wolves are currently on a 4 match unbeaten run.Wolves have won the 2 previous head to head and will add this to there tally also..

DIVISION 1 PREVIEWS

SMH's Views may offend.

SMH's Previews -Turn 19:

Division 1

Newcastle United 2 - 2 Fulham

Newcastle are a train wreck at the minute with no wins in last four league games and a defence in the infirmiry so Dom's Fulham will be hoping to sneak there first win over Carls boys but with three defeats on the bounce getting three points seem to be a somewhat an undoable task for Boywonders troops lately.#Nosedive

PREDICTION:The game has a draw written all over it.

Chelsea 1- 0 Everton

Chelsea will be heading to the championship next season unless they can get a grip of some form pronto and Shacks Everton will be no pushovers as they have hit a wee patch of form winning three of last four league games but looking at the game through the eyes of a statistician, Everton just can't beat Chelsea they have tried six times and lost the lot.#Shackfail

PREDICTION:Chelsea to ease their relegation fears with an odd goal win.

Tottenham Hotspur 3 - 3 Manchester United

Form team of the league Spurs seem to be getting things right lately with some sparkling results so it should make for a good game with table toppers Man United putting together results like the ones that actually won them this title [in seasons one & two].#Backintheday

PREDICTION:No bragging rights for Spurs like that of last seasons SMFA Final win but a share of the spoils.

Middlesbrough 1 - 3 Sheffield United

Sheffield United are flying high sitting in that fourth spot berth mostly due to there current run of only one defeat in there last fourteen league games and there will never be a better time for Elton to get that first win over faltering Boro, with just one win in their last six league games maybe its time for Jooles to start getting that cheque book out and putting away the pension books.#timestheyareachangin

PREDICTION: Drinks are on Elton for toppling Jooles.

Wolverhampton Wanderers 1 - 2 Manchester City

Wolves are joint best form team in the league so will go into this game in good heart but are up against a Messi inspired City side who are not far behind them in the form stakes in the league, City have won both encounters between the pair.#Topcanadianinthesetup

PREDICTION:Man City to sneak an away win.

Milton Keynes Dons 1 - 1 Bolton Wanderers

Mk Dons will be worried by there league position and the last 2 defeats in a row but go into this early season possible relegation six pointer in somewhat better form than Division Ones most out of form side Bolton who have failed to win in there last six games.#Formdonkeys

PREDICTION:I will sit on the fence with this one as it could go either way so I will call a share.

Arsenal 2 - 2 Norwich City

Arsenal have won there last three games to put themselves back on course for a top four finish but with most of their defence crippled Norwich will be hoping to exploit that and get another point or three on that road to safety this season.#Hospitalward7

PREDICTION:A draw which will please Norwich more than Arsenal.

Bristol City 1 - 2 Huddersfield Town*

Bristol City have only won one game in their last six league games and are sliding down towards that drop zone whilst Huddersfield have won two of their last four and they won the last fixture beteen the sides but they have Pizzaro out injured.#Forzajuve

PREDICTION:A narrow away win for the terriers.

Leeds United 3 - 0 Queens Park Rangers

Leeds have won three of last four league games and five of last six in all competions so will be hopeful of inflicting more pain on bottom club QPR who at least gained there first win in fourteen games last time out with a win over struggling Bristol.#Basementbandits

PREDICTION:Leeds to win with consumate ease.

LIVERPOOL 0 - 2 Nottingham Forest

Shock side Forest who just came back from a spell in the second division are nearly touching the sky up in third place will be pretty confident of gaining three points from relegation threatened Liverpool who just cant seem to win games, they did get a win over Leeds last time out but they had to revert to that devils three-five-two formation to muster that.#Anfieldflops

PREDICTION:Forest to continue there fine form and inflict more punishment of the Scousers.

SMH's Previews -Turn 20:

Division 1

Queens Park Rangers 2 - 1 Nottingham Forest

QPR are bottom but have drawn there last two games which is a big improvement and could signal signs of hope.Forest are n a great run but I can see a bubble burst coming soon and I think it will be QPR who will get the three points here in what could prove to be a lifeline to the basement boys.

Huddersfield Town 2 - 3 LIVERPOOL

Ahamad has done well with Huddersfield since he took over and they don't seem to be suffering second season syndrome like what happens to a lot of clubs who pop in and out of the Prem.Liverpool are struggling, sitting two places below Huddersfield and a point behind, Dan has beat his old two from two since he mover to Liverpool and I see no reason for that to change.

Norwich City 1 - 2 Leeds United

Half a season gone and Norwich are still 5 points clear of the drop zone which is better than expected but I can see them losing this.Leeds have only lost one of last seven games and are exacly the same points from top of the table than they are to bottom of the table and with tree points here they could move into top ten.

Bolton Wanderers 2 -2 Bristol City

Bolton have yet to win a game under new manager but have drawn three of the four he has played.Bristol need a win to put them in top ten but have been a bit dodgy of late ao a share of teh spoils looks likely.

Manchester City 1- 2 Arsenal

The big match up between Messi and Ronaldo who will come out on top;The midget or the poser? Both teams have hit are in the top ten as they have hit a bit of form so this should be a good game, I think it will be an odd goal away win.

Sheffield United 1 - 1 Milton Keynes Dons

High flying Blades take on the low lying Dons with thirteen points and places seperating the sides, both teams have hit a stutter and I could see the teams cancelling each other out with a draw the likeliest outcome.

Manchester United 4 -1 Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolves are up there in second place on merit as they have been in great form but they will have to do what they have failed to do on six previous occasions to try to get a win over the great Man United whilst missing Cassano,Luisao & Maxwell it will be tough.

Everton 0 - 2 Middlesbrough

Everton come up against another one of his bogey teams this week after failing to overcome their Chelsea hoodoo last time out they will not be looking forward to this.Boro have won five and drew one of the six head to head games between the sides so will go in to this game hopefully trying to get there campaign back on track with back to back wins.

Fulham 0 - 3 Tottenham Hotspur

Fulham's were stuttering but they seem to have overcome that with two wins in there last three games but they will have to be on guard against form team Spurs who are steamrolling everyone in there oaths as they make a beeline for the top four.Even game but Spurs will take this easily.

Newcastle United 1 - 2 Chelsea

Newcastle will be hoping to steady the ship as their early season form seems like it could have a chance of coming undone unless they could put a stop to the rot that has set in, no wins in last six games will have Chelsea hopeful that they could get another win as they try to climb out of the basement.Tough one to call but Chelsea seem the hungriest.

SMH's Views may offend.

SMH's Previews -Turn 20:

Division 2

Birmingham City 0 - 2 Stoke City

It surprises me that a team like Stoke are only in 10th place but a nice 3 points here against a bewildered out of form Birmingham should help the cause.

Plymouth Argyle 1 - 3 Burnley

Plymouth are struggling with just one win in last six they will have to sort it out soon or they will fall through the trap door.Burnley are in 5th just 3 points off teh top and they are in form 3 wins from last 4 games, they have won the teams last 3 encounters and that will not change today.

West Ham United 2 - 2 Carlisle United

There are 7 players out through injuries/suspensions between the sides so it might come down to who has more depth in this game. Both clubs are perched in the play offs so a share of the spoils could be the outcome.

Cardiff City 2 - 0 Blackburn Rovers

Basemant boys Cardiff are severely lacking in the goals department and missing Lavezzi will need somewhat of a miracle to get a result against Blackburn .Easy 3 points for Blackburn to move them closer to that play off spot.

Charlton Athletic 2 - 1 Swansea City

Charlton are in fine form unbeaten in the last six games a patch of form Swansea can only dream about as they seem to have hit a brick wall with there form imploding.Swansea need to get back winning to catch onto that top six group but I cant see tham doing that today.

Bury 0 - 3 Sunderland

Sunderland are way too strong for this division and god knows how they managed to get releagetd they are missing Suarez,Hamsik & Montelivio but even that won't stop them steamrolling Bury who cant seem to buy a win at the minute.

Wigan Athletic 3 - 2 West Bromwich Albion

Wigan and West Brom games are usually full of goals [An average of 4 goals per match across the last 6 head to heads] so this should be entertaining stuff. Both teams have won 4 of last 6 games so are in form but I can see the home team nicking this by the odd goal.

Blackpool 3 - 1 Watford

Both of Watfords star players are missing for the game so Blackpool who have won the last three head to heads between the sides should be able to take the three points here with relative ease.

Preston North End 2 - 1 Coventry City

A half way relegation battle between the 18th and 19th placed sides.Preston have only lost one of there last six as they battle to get out of the drop zone whilst Coventry have only won 1 of last 6.The head to heads have been pretty even and I would have called this for a draw but Van Bommel,Coventrys star man, is missing so I will call a home win.

Doncaster Rovers 2 - 0 Rochdale

Rochdale have lost theer bit of form mustering only one win in last six and that was 6 games ago. These teams are pretty even but Doncaster are in the better form so will look to make home advantage count to get them 3 points that will put them in the play off places.

DIVISION 3 PREVIEWS

mark-hughes_1546703c.jpg

SMH's Views may offend.

SMH's Previews -Turn 20:

Division 3

Stockport County 0 - 3 Notts County

Stockport have well and truly been found out after last years promotion they are 9 points from safety already, easy 3 points for County.

Aston Villa 2- 0 Crystal Palace

Villa seem to have found some form and about time, what are they doing in division 3?Cystal palace will be hoping to get a wee winning run together as they are stuttering, home win.

Millwall 2 - 3 Reading

Millwall have only won 1 of last 6 but are still top, maybe not after tonight though as the away side have won all the head to heads between the sides.

Portsmouth 2 - 0 Walsall

Both of these teams are in good form and the game could go either way .Portsmouth have not lost in the previous 6 games head to head so I will call home win.

Peterborough United 2 - 4 Sheffield Wednesday

The last 4 games between the sides have produced an average of 6 goals per game so this should be good for the neutral.Wednesday are in better form and I expect them to keep that up tonight.

Exeter City 1 - 3 Aldershot Town

There are only 6 points between these sides so a win here could be crucial to how the second half of the season turns out for the clubs.I can see Aldershot winning and climbing up the table a bit.

Leicester City 2 - 0 Barnsley

In form Leicester should have enough in the tank to beat unmanaged Barnsley and gain revenge for teh reverse fixture defeat.

Hartlepool United 1 - 5 Ipswich Town

Ipswich should take care of Hartlepool who are out of form and are unmanaged, easy 3 points for the play off hopefuls.

Yeovil Town 3 - 1 Derby County

Division 3 game of the day between the 3rd and 4th placed sides, both teams have won 3 of last six so are matched on form but Mr M 's Yeovil was tactically superior in the 5-2 reverse fixture and I could see him using his tactics to outsmart Derby again.

Oldham Athletic 2 - 1 Hull City

There is not much between these two sides but Oldhams recent form is better so I will call a home win because of that fact.
