Re: The Official Serie A Thread

Sculli promising the fans standing above the tunnel that they will win the game and come back from 4-0 down if they let them keep their jerseys? Well bizarre? Sebastian Frey is asking fans whether they think they should all pack up and go home. How stupid, to even invite the fans' opinions! Most fans of football are over passionate dim wits when you take a look at games like this

Re: The Official Serie A Thread

Juve have done it now I think even though Pirlo missed ther pen. They are the new champions. Also how come Stek got sent off? Did he bring down the striker?

Pirlo missed the pen but scored the rebound. And yeah he brought someone down

Fan protests have prompted the Serie A match between Genoa and Siena to be suspended with Siena leading 4-0 early in the second half.

Genoa fans threw flares onto the pitch and climbed atop barriers as they were faced by stewards in riot gear. One section of hard-core "ultra'' fans got up and walked out of the Luigi Ferraris stadium.

Also, Genoa forward Bosko Jankovic was forced to leave his seat after an argument with fans.

Genoa has the worst defense in the league and is fighting to avoid relegation.

After about 15 minutes, Siena left the pitch for the changing room, and it was unclear if the match would resume.

The scene was reminiscent of the Italy-Serbia match at the same stadium in October 2010, which was stopped by violent clashes between Serbia supporters and police.

Genoa captain Marco Rossi spoke with the fans at one point and he then removed his jersey and also gathered teammates' jerseys.

Re: The Official Serie A Thread

But Giuseppe Sculli, ironically a player on loan from Lazio, refused to do so. Cameras showed him heading to the hot spot to speak directly with the supporters' leader. Sculli's anger was apparent, and he was able to do what no one else had managed: get the Ultras to back down. The shirts were returned and the Siena players re-emerged from the tunnel.

Wow! Sculli certainly showed a bit of bottle there confronting the Ultras.

Re: The Official Serie A Thread

Gigi De Canio has taken over at Genoa. Far from a step up and will probably take down Genoa. He got Lecce relegated, then did bring them up. Not some big improvement. He's been at relegation threatened/2nd division or lower clubs. Which he only won a handful of the relegation battles, with Reggina and Siena coming to mind. He managed Genoa in Serie B, who were fighting relegation to Serie C. Failed to promote us, which was a big expectation to bring us up in 02. He's been sacked almost everywhere he's gone. Longest he's been at a club is 2 seasons and he's been managing since mid-90's. I can't see them getting better and Lecce are definitely the inform team at the bottom, only losing 2 games since February, with 4 wins and 7 draws. Of course they can take it that Cagliari aren't safe either and there is only 1 spot left as Novara and Cesena look done and dusted.

Re: The Official Serie A Thread

So Juventus have reached a deal with Verratti of Pescara. However, want him on a full basis while Pescara only wanna sell half his contract for 4.5m.

More South American's at Bologna. Facundo Piriz and Gonzalo Bueno are close, if not have already agreed to join for 4m.

Milan are thinking about keeping Aquilani on the bench for the rest of the season as they haven't met the amount of games he has to play before they are forced to buy him.

Inter, looking for a new true DM, are scouting De Jong for City.

Zenit are looking at signing Matri from Juventus (could be why they're linked to every striker on earth), for around 17m.

Inter, needing a RB as they don't know what is going on with Maicon, have joined Madrid in the hunt of Kyle Walker. Though the staggering 18m price tag might put them off.

It is reported Van Persie's agent has been in talks with Juventus over a possible move of over 25m.

Lo Monaco has confirmed he's leaving Catania at the end of the season after supposed fallout with Catania. Linked to Napoli and Fiorentina.

Christian Panucci resigned as director of sports of Serie A side Palermo on Tuesday just over a month after he took the job.

The 38-year-old former Italian international defender's resignation came about, the club said, because of a misunderstanding over comments made by president Maurizio Zamparini.

"We are very bitter over this action," the club said in a statement. "We would like to thank Panucci for the work he has done during this short period of time. This resignation comes after a misunderstanding over comments made by the president which were reported in an incorrect fashion by the press."

Panucci, who had a distinguished playing career winning the UEFA Champions League twice with AC Milan and Real Madrid, had been working as a pundit for Sky Sport prior to being hired by Zamparini on 19 March.

Zamparini has earned the nickname of 'the coach eater' as he has gone through 45 coaches as president of Venice (1987-2002) and from Palermo in 2002. Palermo are presently 11th in Serie A, but just six points above the final relegation place with five matches remaining.

Oh come on now, Zamparini isn't controversial enough to have words mixed up.

De Laurentiis for the 100th time claims Cavani's staying at Napoli after Lavezzi and Hamsik claimed they're staying as well.

Udinese have sent scouts to watch Porto's Sergio Ribeiro.

Liverpool are again tracking Casnos from Inter. Just didn't work out.

Matias Suarez is close to joining Napoli, just needs a EU Passport. Wondering where the defenders are.

Roma are tracking Keba da Silva..

De Laurentiis talking about the Three Tenors. Hamsik signing a new contract, De Laurentiis talking to Cavani and his agent and knowing he wants to stay. Then talks about Lavezzi, who has the 32m release clause in his contract. Claimed Lavezzi wanted it, so he's not totally sure if Lavezzi is going to stay or not.

Furio Valcareggi, agent of

Juventus midfielder

Emanuele Giaccherini, has declared: "He is living a dream, I really think that he will be signed on permanent deal and I don't see a reason why he shouldn't remain".

I'm agree with his agent, we should signed Goblin on full ownership.

Genoa joined Udinese to sign Domingos Willians.

Lazio, Catania, and Parma tracking Universidad de Chile RB, Matias Nicolas Rodriguez.

Inter rumoured will offer Viviano to get Handanovic from Udinese.
