Unknown Manager Given Job Of A Lifetime!

At 4PM today Aldershot Town's managerial hunt had finished. The conclusion not the type they were looking for yet still one to look forward too and a a huge change. After Kevin Dillion stepped down as the manager of Divison 4 side Aldershot Town due to health issues the Aldershot board were drawn into making actions as soon as allowed. They drew up a list of candidates and started there man hunt. However after 2 weeks they had drawn up a blank. They decided to accept the only person to apply for the job. For Ryan Clarke this was a dream come true. Born in Frimley Park he grew up in the Streets of Aldershot and jumped at the chance of managing Aldershot. He signed on a four year deal worth £3000 P/W making him the highest paid Aldershot manager ever. Here's what he has to say.

As soon as I was told I'd been accepted I started thinking of transfers, tactics, training and everything that comes with being a manager. I hope to lead Aldershot to success on every level. This is a long road. It could bring us success and other things. At times it will see as if we have failed. We will never give up. This is the rise of the phoenix.

4 New Players Join Revolution!

On his first day in the job new Aldershot Town manager Ryan Clarke welcomed 4 new players from the Mexican league. Combined the players cost the club 1 and half million pounds. This is believed to be nearly half of the available budget at the Divison 4 club. The first player to arrive was Israel Jiminez from Tigres. 3 Hours after the move his FIFA database rating rose from 75 to 82. This gives him a value of 5.2 million which is a shadow of the 310k Aldershot paid. The next prodigy to arrive from Mexico was Lider Marmol who is believed to have cost 400k from Atlante. Marmol plays CB and will strengthen the Aldershot defence. Mexican striker Samuel Ochoa was the next to arrive from Tecos for an undisclosed fee. Ochoa looks to be a striker with predatory instincts which could prove vital as Ryan Clarke's men push for promotion. Carlos Alberto Gutierrez was the last to join up with Aldershot as the deal looked to be off after an arguement over personal terms. However they managed to stirke a deal a bring the Left Winger to the club. These are the type of signing Aldershot need to push for promotion. There looks to be more players joining soon as things get promising for the Shots.

For Aldershot Town this was the start of a new era. The start of a special age. The Rise Of The Phoenix. However he was dogged with bad news with all of his new signings having to pull out due to low fitness. His patched up team squaring up to Tranmere Rovers. However these changes may have proved critical towards the outcome of this match as the Aldershot machine broke down. From the start they were pinned back with Morrow coming close for the Rovers with a crisp volley that skimmed the bar. Aldershot did manage a rare attack when Morgan fired just over on 34 minutes. In the 43rd minute a mix-up between Halls and the Aldershot goalkeeper Young meant Mahon had an easy tap-in to fire Tranmere into the lead. A free-kick in added time nearly made it 2-0 with McLaren bringing out the best in Young who redeemed himself after his clanger two minutes earlier.

Half Time.

Any hopes of an Aldershot resurgance were crushed when Tranmere hit the post and the bar in the space of 5 minutes. Morgan was trying his best to fashion a chance at the other end with his pure strength taking him past two players before a last ditch challenge from Broomes preventing him form getting a shot away. A poor tackle from Halls was lucky to escape with a warning. The resulting free-kick was defelcted in by a jubilant Labadie who put the Rovers to far ahead of Aldershot. A last minute goal for Aldershot was denied with Morgan being deemed to have handled the ball over the line. A bad loss for the Shots means they have to win next week to prove themselves. Ryan is confident new players will be signed before then with a few departures along the way.

Full Time.

Aldershot Begin Sale Of Players!

After their poor performance in the loss to Tranmere Rovers, Aldershot manager Ryan Clarke has decided to commence the sales of players that let him down. He said he was disapointed at a number of players who may find they have no future at the club. The cash made is expected to be poured back into the club so Ryan can buy more players. Here's what he had to say in a post match interview with The Aldershot Chronicle.

Aldershot Chronicle: After this poor performance are you feeling that this is a tougher challenge then initially thought?

Ryan Clarke: I am optimistic that when I evaluated this challenge i was accurate. I believe that when the new signings are fit we can have a real push for the top. The sky is the limit.

Aldershot Chronicle: Do you feel there may be a confidence issue heading into your next match against Burton Albion?

Ryan Clarke: With new signings being added into the team I believe confidence shouldn't be a major factor in the teams performance.

Aldershot Chronicle: There has been rumours that in order for you to raise some more transfer funds you will be selling some of your players. Any ideas who?

Ryan Clarke: Players that didn't give it all against Tranmere might find they do not have a future at the club. My players need to want to give everything in every match. Sales are inevitable.

Aldershot Chronicle: Jamie Youngs performance has been highlighted as one of the poorest in an Aldershot shirt. His mix-up may have cost you the game. Will he be heading out?

Ryan Clarke: Although Young had a terrible time against Tranmere he is only 18 and I see a bright future for him. I think it might benifit us if we can keep hold of him.

Aldershot Chronicle: Will Jamie be happy that he has to fight with 3 other goalkeepers for a place in the team with highly rated Kevin De Wolf and Mikhael James Ruiz among them?

Ryan Clarke: Only Jamie knows if he wants to fight. If he wants to fight I'm sure he'll never be far off being the No.1 goalkeeper at this club.

Aldershot Chronicle: Thanks for your time.

Ryan Clarke: No problem.

Which players don't have a future at Aldershot? Stay tuned as we get ready for sales.

After a horrible start to Ryan Clarke's managerial career with a 2-0 loss to Tranmere Ryan was hoping for better against Burton Albion. The game was nearly cancelled when the floodlights failed at the Pirelli Stadium. Gorund Staff were able to bring them back on and the game went ahead. Aldershot started with a 9 changes to the starting 11. Most of these recently bought foreign prodigys. The first to make his name in the league was nearly Riza when his long-range shot smashed Burton Albion keeper Legzdins crossbar. On 19 minutes Ben Harding was put through 1 on 1 with the keeper but he only managed to hit the post. Aldershot were tested in the 28th minute with a flash of brilliance from new keeper Thibaut Courtious as he pushed Simpsons header our for a corner. Aldershot did soon take the lead when Daniel Opare bent his free-kick around the wall to the bewilderment of the Burton supporters. Aldershot began to go through a sloppy period with Burton starting to gain the edge. A goal-mouth scramble saw the ball nearly cross the line not once not twice but three times! This was not enough for Aldershot to sense the alarm bells as Lewis Young broke free from a lacklustre defending and slotted the ball home.

Half Time.

After seeing his team defend so poorly in the first half Ryan needed to sort his team out. Ben Hardings 25 yard shot seemed to show Aldershot coming back alive. Another shot from the edge of the box from Ben Harding saw the keeper parry straight to the feet of the greatful Samuel Ochoa who bagged his first Shots goal of the season and hopefully not his last with the Mexican showing predatory instincts to bag the goal. Aldershot looked set to shut up shop and hold out for a win. Burton started to dominate in the closiung stages with a few scares for Aldershot. Aldershots new defense held strong as they bagged their first points of the season.

Aldershot Round Up 6 more signings.

Aldershot manager Ryan Clarke has rounded up 6 more signings ahead of their match against Southend United tommorow. After signing Mexican prodigys Ryan has turned to the Spanish Segunda with 3 players joining from the Spanish divison. Ryan also turned to the loan market as he completed 3 loan signings from Manchester United. It appears that Ryan Clarke and Manchester United manager Dylan Ritchie have been getting on well with 3 of the best young players around being allowed to join Aldershot on loan. Ryan had this to say. I'm delighted to welcome 6 more signings to the revoloution here at Aldershot Town. These players will not regret joining us on our journey. I have also strengthened links between Aldershot Town and Manchester United and we have become a distant feeder club. We hope to nurture any players sent to us and send them back as better players. We also have scheduled a friendly at Old Trafford with the money made from ticket sales going into Aldershot Town. This is a great relationship for the club to have and we have to thank Dylan Ritchie for this.

And now we have a round-up of the players Aldershot have signed.

Aldershot went into this game with a mixed bag of form. A dire loss in their first game and a scrappy win the second hadn't really convinced any loyal Aldershot fans they were really on the rise. This result might well have put all this to bed with an emphatic result against promotion rivals Southend United. As a new look Aldershot strolled out onto the recreation ground a chant of "We want goals" erupted form all sides of the ground. This request was almost met straight away when Macheda was put in on goal after 2 minutes. His shot was foiled by Southend keeper Coyne. On 13 minutes the away team nearly silenced the crowd when an acrobatic bicycle kick nearly catching Ulriech off guard. A strong right hand parried the shot away from the Shots goal. Then came the goal bonanza. On 25 kinutes a near finish on the edge of the box from Neto gave Aldershot the lead. Then one minute after restart Ochoa put the ball in the net for the Shots to make it 2-0 in the space of 2 minutes. A long 20 yard drive from the Mexican might have proved too much for 2 keepers and left Coyne with no chance. Then a moment of pure brilliance from Phillips. From the kick-off he single-handedly took on the whole of the Aldershot team and drove a shot past Ulreich. On 44 minutes Ochoa restored the 2 goal lead with his 2nd of the match. A quick run left Zaaboub in no-mans land as Ochoa showed impressive airel ability to take his chance.

Half Time.

Aldershot fans will have been hoping for more of the same. After emerging from the tunnel a load cry from Darren Jones warned his team-mates not to get complacent. It seems they took his advice and they took control of the game. A quick one-two with Marmol left Ochoa clear of the Southend defense but a slip on the wet surface ruined his hard work. Freedman had a chance to make it 3-2 but he fired over from less then 6 yards out to the disbelief of the Southend fans, his manager, his team-mates and even himself. He was made to pay when Macheda recieved the ball. He took it past players before blasting it past the helpless Southend Keeper. 4-2 was soon made 5-2 with Neto getting his second of the match. After failing an outisde the boot rocket Neto toe-poked the ball home.

Full Time.

Aldershot Begin Mind Games!

Ahead of Aldershots divison 4 clash with Oldham Athletic Ryan has begun the mind games. Oldham and Aldershot have been labelled as favourites for promotion to Division 3. This crunch match could have a huge part to play in who finishes top od Division 4. Both teams head into the match with a win in their last match. Oldham beat Tranmere 2-1 with Aldershot thrashing Southend 5-1. Ryan believes this shows his side have an edge. Heres what Ryan had to say. Ahead of our match against Oldham I think we have the edge. Our 5-1 trouncing of Southend proves we have the better strikers. I think the amount of shots we had proves we've got the quality to make chances and conceding 4 goals in 3 games shows we don't exactly leak goals at the back. I honestly feel we can win this game comfortably if all the players stick to their jobs. Mark my words. We Will Win This.

As the teams trotted out for a match that might decide who wins Divison 4. The Aldershot team were met by a frightning blast of noise. Oldham were up for this. On the 17th minute a snapshot from Mark Randall on the edge of the D nearly send the Oldham fans into raptures. The ball cruised just over the bar. It became quite clear Aldershot needed to defend more with Ryan changing the mentality of his team to defensive. Aldershot became a unit and wre hard to break down with the only shots Oldham got away being long-range sighters that never troubled the might of Ulriech. Darren Jones broke the offside trap with impressive pace and slotted it past Ulriech. The joy was short-lived as the linesman flagged for off-side. Oldham continued to dominate for the rest of the half but failed to breach the Aldershot defense.

Half Time.

A poor first-half from Aldershot meant they had to step it up to avoid drawing a game they thought they could win. 2 minutes after the restart a Tom Cleverley chip clipped the crossbar on its way over. Ulriech was then called into action on the counter-attack. Oldham had looked dangerous on the counter-attack all night. Ulriech pulled out an amazing save to deny the home side. This set up a counter-attack for Aldershot as Tom Cleverley sprinted with the ball. He passed it to Arribas who sent Riza in on goal with a delightful chip through ball. Riza was never going to miss and finished it with his his trade-mark outside the boot. The Aldershot fans started singing "It's All Gone Quiet Over There!". Oldham fought back and came close to equlizing when Wallace's acrobatic volley was deflected for a corner. The corner was caught well by Ulriech and set up another Aldershot counter-attack. This one fizzled out quickly. Aldershot dominated the closing 10 minutes and closed out the win. A great win for the Shots!
