Who are you? - The forumers interviews

Have you ever come accross someone on the forum and thought, hmmm...they talk a lot of sense, wonder what they're like in real life? Perhaps you'd like an insight into how the minds of some of the forumers here work? Or maybe you're just curious in general. Well this thread might well answer some of your questions and let you get to know some forumers who you barely come accross better (or even those you interact with regularly).

The idea is a re-vamp of a previous thread created by Kevin (the original thread: http://forum.soccermanager.com/showthread.php?t=48145) which drew initial interest, but gradually fizzled out. I'm sure he won't mind me re-igniting the idea and I hope to keep it going for a very long time, subject to interest. Forumers, will be asked a series of questions based around who they support, SM, hobbies and past-times, their wishes and ambitions and some questions specific to the specific forumer. I'm hoping this will interest many and we can share a little bit about ourselves with us, hence encouraging a greater sense of community.

So without further delay, I'm pleased to announce the first interviewee will be none other than one of our German football specialists......timesle. The interview will be up shortly :)

Re: Who are you? - the forumers interviews

Introducing to you all Timesle or Timo for those who have not come accross him. One of our resident Bundesliga experts and devout VfB Stuttgart fan. Always on-the-ball when it comes to all things football and always happy to help. Here's his interview:

What team do you support and how long have you supported them?

VfB Stuttgart. Ever since I can remember.

Why do you follow this team?

Mainly because I grew up near to Stuttgart. And most of my friends in those days had to choose between Bayern and Stuttgart. And I decided for Stuttgart - the less successful but IMO far better choice.

Who is your favourite player (current and/or all time)?

Currently I don't really have a favourite player.

Out of the German one's it might be Khedira due to his VfB-roots and his choice to try it at a really big club outside Germany.

Ability-wise it's probably Messi as he can perform magic with the ball in an effective manner.

All time it's Zidane as he had phenomenal skills.

Which match do you recall most fondly?

Last matchday of the season 2006/2007 Stuttgart vs. Cottbus because it was the match where Stuttgart became league champion.

Which is your favourite SM team currently and why?

My Stuttgarter Kickers in German Championship 61 as I built them up to THE top team of the setup.

What do you consider your greatest SM achievement?

Above mentioned Stuttgarter Kickers team.

What do you like and dislike about SM?

I like the real life rating system of SoccerManager and I dislike the function to connect with Facebook – infact I absolutely hate it and don't know why this can't be hidden.

What is your favourite past-time?

Going to the cinema.

What sort of music do you like?

Classic Rock (80s)

Who is your ideal date?

My girl friend is.

If you could be any movie star (actor/character) who would you be and why?

Actually there's no movie star I really like to be - maybe Chewbacca

What do you do now in real life and where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

I'm currently studying Business Mathematics and hopefully I've a job in 5 years.

Some may say you are a quiet man on the forum - how would you describe yourself?

I really hate describing myself and rather let others do this job.

Why are the Germans better at football than the English (tournaments in particular) - what's the secret?

Because we always had, still have and ever will have the better Goalkeeper. And because we act more like a team in WCs/ECs.

If you had one wish granted to you, what would you wish for?

Health for my family, my friends and me.

Who will win the next World Cup?

Germany or Brazil

So there we have it. A very down-to-earth, modest man who loves his family and his girlfriend :)

Next interviewee is ardent Man City fan and pops up all over the forum, generally talking sense....Stuart H . His interview will be put up in due course

Re: Who are you? - the forumers interviews

Stuart H is someone who most regulars of the forum will have come accross at some time. A huge Man C fan who likes to take the occasional dig at the red side of his home town, but generally a nice guy. For those who don't know him or those who want to know more, here's his interview:

What team do you support and how long have you supported them?

As you can probably tell I support Manchester City I got into football quite late as my family never followed it very keenly. My best mate first took me to a City game in the Keegan era. Can't remember the year or the game to be honest but I reckon 01/02 which would make it 9 years and counting.

Why do you follow this team?

I'd watched a couple of games before I first saw City (mainly Sheffield Wednesday) but they didn't capture me in the way that City did. The Maine Road atmosphere, the fans and the complete unpredictability of the team were great. Add in that they were pretty local and I was soon an avid fan.

Who is your favourite player (current and/or all time)?

My all time City favourite is Ali Benarbia. He was absolutely magical to watch and he and Eyal Berkovic were stunning together in the City midfield. Current favourite is Nigel De Jong. For all the fancy stars we have I think he epitomises the club, wears his heart on his sleeve and always gives 100%.

Which match do you recall most fondly?

I had a season ticket at Eastlands for around 4 years so I've seen a few classic matches. You can't beat the derby atmosphere against United and I've seen a few City victories. The best in the 03/04 season when City ran away 4-1 winners

TtdU2-wHhMo

Disclaimer: Video posted was entirely Stu's idea

Which is your favourite SM team currently and why?

I really like my Portogruaro-Summaga. I'm doing a South American challenge with them and already have a great squad and the division 3 championship under my belt. Of my GC teams the favourite has to be Lille in GC18. I've not done much with them squad-wise but they seem to work very well for me

What do you consider your greatest SM achievement?

I rejoined my first game-world on SM (EC832?) with an Everton who were in the Division 2 play-offs. I lost those but the following season I brought in some good players and won division 2. The following season I took the division 1 title. This was before I joined the forum but now I recognise who the Manchester City manager was... Dai!

What do you like and dislike about SM?

I like how easy it is to play and how much more competitive it is than other football management games. Not much I dislike as such but there's plenty that could be improved. The only thing really is that cheats should be kicked out of GCs and repeat offenders shouldn't be allowed to enter.

What is your favourite past-time?

I'm a student... so drinking has to be up there Usually whilst watching the football mind. I also play a bit of 6-a-side and a bit of Fifa. Pretty generic really.

What sort of music do you like?

Absolutely anything. My Spotify has got to be one of the most abstract around

If you could be a star in any movie (character/actor), who would you be and why?

Forrest Gump. Best film I've seen and one of the most interesting leading roles around.

Who is your idea date?

All time crush would have to be Maria Sharapova...

_u-71jlrnKu...pova-beach.jpg

What do you do now in real life and where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

Right now I'm a Maths student at Sheffield Uni. Not entirely sure where I want to take my career but I'd hope to have a job, especially if tuition fees go unrestricted Particularly interested in statistics and can see myself getting interested in finance when I look closer.

You seem quite a sensible chap and a bit of an all-rounder. How would your friends describe you?

Thanks :P I think I'm seen as the nice guy of the group. Fairly out-going, helpful and genuine. I like to think I'm funny but that's probably just me.

How many of the current Man C squad do you think will be around next season and who are going to be the fall guys?

Depends a lot on whether Mancini is still in charge which depends a lot on where we finish this season. I think we'll finish top four meaning he keeps his job meaning we won't see too many signings in January and the summer. He'll likely improve the positions we're weakest in. I can see Given leaving and possibly Richards. Remember we still haven't seen the best of Boateng or Silva and we haven't seen anything of Kolarov and Balotelli.

If you had one wish granted to you, what would you wish for?

Tricky one. Possibly a bit too early to be asking this as everything seems to be going swimmingly right now. If anything it'd be for more hours in the day or more days in the week. I like my sleep

Will Man C win the league and if so when do you see it happening?

Yes. Certainly within the next 10 years. Considerably earlier if United and Liverpool continue to falter.

So a statistician in the making who likes his sleep and has good vibes telling him success is just around the corner for his beloved Man City :)

Next to take the hotseat will be a passionate Man U and Scotland fan...AFC Chewis.

Re: Who are you? - the forumers interviews

Introducing to you all AFC Chewis a very vocal Aberdeen, Man U and Scotland fan. Passionate about his football and always keen to join the forumer gameworlds on SM. Here's his interview:

What team do you support and how long have you supported them?

Aberdeen and for well as long as I can remember

Why do you follow this team?

Local team.

Who is your favourite player (current and/or all time)?

Eric Cantona, Giggs.

Which match do you recall most fondly?

Aberdeen 2-0 Rangers in 07 to get into the Uefa Cup or Aberdeen 2-2 Bayern.

Which is your favourite SM team currently and why?

er, Probably my Newcastle love the team i've built up.

What do you consider your greatest SM achievement?

As above

What do you like and dislike about SM?

It a good game. But the keep making Reserve Gc's

What is your favourite past-time?

Er, Going to football or Cinema.

What sort of music do you like?

Most of the Modern day stuff, Not Classic and heavy.

If you could be a star in any movie (character/actor), who would you be and why?

Well, er Santiago Munez in Goal, Geting to play for Real

Who is your idea date?

Abbie Clancy

What do you do now in real life and where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

Go to School. Either at College/Uni or have a full time job in 5 years.

You seem to have lots of friends on SM and get on with most but sometimes your passion gets the better of you. Is that a fair sum-up of your character and would your real life friends say the same?

No, Passionate but i tend to keep that inside. A quiet person in real life.

Which of the following would you most like to see - Man Utd. in a Champions league final, Scotland in a World Cup Quarter-final or to be voted EC106 personality and manager of the year and why?

Scotland in the World Cup never mind that Quarter-final, because we have not been to a major competion in a while.

If you had one wish granted to you, what would you wish for?

Happiness for me and my nearest and dearest.

Would you ever want the SPL teams to join the English leagues?

Depends. If Celtic and Rangers went at least some else would be able to win the league. No because i like the Spl the way it is. And everyone looks forward when the old firm come.

So a quiet man in real life, but remains passionate overall, particularly when it comes to his country. A true patriot preferring country over club fortunes :)

Next interviewee is...actually not yet decided . I've had a few requests to whom I'll be sending questions shortly, but I want to interview a variety of interviewees, not any select group. Anyone interested in participating should simply drop me a visitior message. This is open to anyone, regardless of how long you have been on the forum or perceived reputation :)

Re: Who are you? - the forumers interviews

KopStar is one of our Aussie contingent who is very much a patriot. Admits to being a little loud at times but mostly just enjoys having fun. Here's his interview:

What team do you support and how long have you supported them?

I support Sydney FC. I supported them since the day they were made, all the way back in 2004. They were also the first game I ever went to when they beat Perth 1-0. A team I will support for the rest of my life no matter what happens to them (at the moment they've began the season on a 10 game winless streak after winning the double last season)

I also supported Liverpool from about 2003. As crazy as it sounds the fact that they had a player who had a surname similar to my first name (Gerrard/ Jared) made it pretty cool when I was really young. Terrible reason to support a club but oh well lol.

Why do you follow this team?

Sydney FC are my local team as I am from Sydney and for Liverpool see above.

Who is your favourite player (current and/or all time)?

Currently theres quiet a few players I like. Gerrard of course is a legend and Torres is one I like a lot too. My favourite non Liverpool (or non Aussie) players are Yossi Benayoun and Michael Essien (horrible that Benayoun moved to Chelsea about a month after I bought a Liverpool Benayoun jersey.

Locally Alex Brosque, Terry McFlynn and Kofi Danning are probably my favourite players at Sydney. But just about the whole sydney team bar Liam Reddy are players I like. Two non Sydney players I like are Marcos Flores from Adelaide, an absolutely brilliant playmaker and Thomas Broich of Brisbane.

Also love Schwarzer as he is a brick wall and when he isnt playing against Liverpool, Tim Cahill is another player I really like.

Which match do you recall most fondly?

Theres a couple. The first match I ever went to. Sydney vs Perth Glory. Alex Brosque scored a goal with about ten minutes left to secure the win for Sydney. Also a match last year between Netherlands and Australia was brilliant, the chance to see top players such as Sneijer, Kuyt and others was brilliant. Another Sydney game was earlier this year when Sydney beat arch rivals Melbourne Victory to finish top of the table.

The two biggest matches would be the famous world cup qualifier in 2005, Australia and Uruguay that ended in Australia qualifying for the world cup for only the second time on penalties. And also a match earlier this year where Sydney FC played Melbourne in the final and won on penalties. I really ccant split any of those games.

Which is your favourite SM team currently and why?

Hmm. Thats another question I can't seperate one specifically. My Manchester City in EC2933 is close to me as I was the one who got the setup forum filled and has become a realy good setup. My Cardiff City in EC106 for being in the best SM league and really building up the team and my Rochdale who I've taken to Division 1 and now boast players like Torres, Xavi and Higuain among others.

What do you consider your greatest SM achievement?

After getting a one month gold membership I took Australia in EC106. In a world cup group with Portugual, Spain and Ireland, teams all managed by great managers. I managed a 3-2 loss to Portugal, a 2-0 win over Ireland and a 2-1 win over Spain and now face Brazil in the first knock out round tonight.

What do you like and dislike about SM?

Like: the whole game play and rating system and forum

Dislike: that all shop products are heavily over priced.

What is your favourite past-time?

Playing football for definite.

What sort of music do you like?

I actually don't listen to music very often. Normally only when I'm at parties.

If you could be a star in any movie (character/actor), who would you be and why?

Hmm. I'd be Orlando Bloom so I could be married to Miranda Kerr :D

Who is your idea date?

Candice Swanepoel.

candice_swanepoel_images_nice_hot_7.jpg

or

Bar Rafaeli

Bar-Refaeli-Sports-illustrated-large.jpg

What do you do now in real life and where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

I'm a school student. Hopefully finished school and at university and definately playing football- whether I just play in the semi-pro leagues here (almost certainly as I waited way to late to get real proper coaching) or in my dreams playing for Sydney FC.

You seem to be a bit of a joker and jovial member of the forum. Is this a true indication of you in real life?

Haha. If I'm around my friends I'm normally quite loud and sometimes a bit crazy. If I'm around people I don't know well I'm very shy and introverted.

The Aussies seem to excel at most sports. Why do you think this is and what do you think others can learn from the Aussie approach to sport?

It is just so entrenched into our culture. Its an Aussie stereotype of a bogan (Australia's redneck equivalent) drinking some beer and playing sport with his mates. And we are generally a very talented country, much more so than the English ;)

If you had one wish granted to you, what would you wish for?

If I only had one I'd wish for world peace and greater tolerance of others. Personally I'd wish to be a professional footballer.

Do you ever see Australia winning the World cup and who do your regard to be the best Aussie starlets currently?

I mind sound crazy but I think could. As I said earlier sport is in our culture and not winning or being number one isn't. We are rapidly improving as a footballing nation and heavens willing we get the 2022 World Cup. This will definately push aside some of the other sports like cricket and the football codes- Rugby Union, Rugby League and AFL (an Aussie version of Gaelic football).

We have a really good crop of up-and-coming players. We have lots of good young keepers like Dean Bouzanis, Mitchell Langerak (just moved to Borussia Dortmund) and Adam Federici. Defence is probably our probbaly our worst emerging spot but we still have some good players like Ersam Gulum, Jason Davidson.

Midfield and attack are probably our brightest areas of emergence. Ben Kantarovski is a future captain and can play in defence or a defensive midfield. He proved in the AFC Under 19 Champsionship's that he is really one to look out for. 16 year Terry Antonis and 17 year old Mustafa Amini also played really well there and are HUGE talents. Antonis, at Sydney FC, has been heavily tracked by Everton (why won't the red side of Anfield look at more Aussie players).

Tommy Oar is probably the biggest Aussie talent right now. He and other young guns at Utrecht like Adam Sarota and Michael Zullo also have the potential to do really well. Looking locally Matthew Leckie is the most heavily touted since Oar left the league and Sydney FC young guns Rhyan Grant and Kofi Danning are also good players to watch out for. Kerem Bulut, a former Sydney FC player, is a regular in Czech Republic and proved his worth scoring 7 goals in 6 games at the AFC Under 19 Championship. He had become a regular at his side before going away on the tournament and many see him as Australia's biggest striking talent since Mark Viduka.

Yes thats a pretty comprehensive wrap on our youth talents.

So an all-round football addict who dreams of representing his local side and at the same side is optimisitic about the fortununes of Australia on the international scene :)

Keep checking in for future interviews and if you're interested in taking the hotseat, sned me a Visitor Message.

Re: Who are you? - the forumers interviews

Next up we have drseanfitz, a member who has grown to be one of the most recognisable on the forum. A bit of an SM addict (particularly the forum) who admits to squeezing in SM sessions at work and even in bed  . Here's his interview:

What team do you support and how long have you supported them?

Greenock Morton, since I was about 12.

Why do you follow this team?

I was never really into football when I was a kid, but my younger brother started doing a football management game through the post (like an old fashioned Soccer Manager). He persuaded me to join, and the team I was allocated was Greenock Morton. This then led to me getting an interest in football, and particularly Morton.

Who is your favourite player (current and/or all time)?

All time – Graeme Le Saux (cue offensive PM’s), at his prime, in Blackburn’s title winning season, and the season after prior to his injury, Le Saux was one of the finest crossers of the ball I’ve ever seen. The ease he used to find Shearer/Newell/Wegerle was unbelievable.

Current - It’s hard to say anyone but Messi, the guy has it all.

Which match do you recall most fondly?

Travelling by train to Morecombe to see my beloved Greenock Morton for the first time in a preseason friendly. learn't some choice words from the Scottish fans, and we lost 3-0, but I remember that there was more Morton fans there than Morecombe. I also remember the Morton chairman coming into the fans talking to them and thanking them for coming.

Which is your favourite SM team currently and why?

Despite being given a good run by my Rochdale in EC2762, it’s got to be my Crewe in EC106. I took them over part way in season 7, whilst the set up was popular, but not at it’s peak. There were 8 unmanaged teams when I joined, and I took division 4 Crewe. Season 12 kicks off Saturday and I’ve managed to get them to division 2, had a cup final and a cup semi final, and filled my team with players like Lucio, Arshavin, Walcott, Totti, Agger, Weise etc.

What do you consider your greatest SM achievement?

My success with Crewe. I’ve managed several clubs in my time that have gone on to dominate a set up, but nothing beats getting you’re team up their in the most competitive setup in SM

What do you like and dislike about SM?

With SM I find I spend more time on the forum than I do playing the game(maybe my tactical know-how with be a bit better if I stopped writing stories about Paris Hilton on the EC106 thread and concentrated on my teams more). So it’s got to be the forum interaction that I like most.

If I’d answered this yesterday I’d have said I had nothing to pick on the dislike front, after all it’s a game that you can play for free, and nothing is perfect. However after an incident with a ticket reply I got today I’d say SM support, who previously have been fine with me)

What is your favourite past-time?

I really enjoy playing football with my neice and nephew. Despite them only being 7 and 9. Although reading comics with a beer or a glass of wine probably tops it, particularly X-men and Deadpool.

What sort of music do you like?

Muse and Suede are my all time favourites. Muse live are an experience everyone should try and experience before they die. Also a big fan of Pink.

Favourite album of all time though would be The Wall (Pink Floyd)

If you could be a star in any movie (character/actor), who would you be and why?

Deadpool(in the upcoming film, not the Wolverine destruction of him). The comics are some of the funniest things I’ve ever read, and love the way they break the boundaries. Although with a face as beautiful as mine I’m not sure if I could pull it off, even with lots of makeup

ryandeadpool.jpg

Who is your ideal date?

Famke Janssen – attractive, intelligent and charitable, and as if that wasn’t enough she played Jean Grey/Phoenix in the X-men films, what more can you want.

xmen309.jpg

What do you do now in real life and where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

Work in a GP surgery. My official title is IT co-ordinator/Receptionist. Although a lot of the work I do is near enough on a par with the manager

In 5 years I’ll still be here, although maybe with a new, better paid job title.

You manage to hold down a responsible job and have plenty of time for SM. How do you juggle the two?

I’m brilliant at multitasking. I tend to spend my evenings with one eye on SM and one on whatever else I’m doing. I also tend to get to work about 20 mins early and have an SM fix with a strong coffee. I also survive on very little sleep, and have a tendency to log on the laptop in bed once the wife is asleep.

What would be your fix for England's bad performances in International tournaments?

I don’t think there is a fix. England always expects, but the facts are we juat aren’t good enough. But picking players on form and ability rather than reputation would be a nice start

As one of the prominent members in EC106, can you tell us why it's such a unique gameworld and why it seems to be a source of controversy sometimes on the forum?

It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what it is that makes 106 what it is. I think the biggest thing is that we have got fortunate with a group of managers that form the spine of the setup that really interact well with each other. At its best you can have storylines running through the threads that can drag in up to 7 or 8 mangers at a time. The transfer market is extremely lively, with lots of big players transferring between clubs, something that is missing in a lot of leagues with a high volume of managers. It’s also one of the few setups that values the international scene.

The EC106 phobia started in last year’s Forumers World Cup, the basic belief (I say basic belief because there were other aspect’s that brewed up on the side) behind it seemed to be that because we have so many forumers we would take over the competition and put through one of ‘our boys’. Unfortunately during this years FOTY it all started again, but whereas last time it was a brief flirtation then was laughed off, this time round it escalated, and things went from discussion to insults, and angry exchanges. The whole thing tarnished a competition that Tom(Radebe) puts in his own time to organise, and is generally a good way of getting to know different forumers.

I don’t really want to go into it all too much as it’s all been done to death, but I can promise that EC106 do not want to take over. But I will happily become "Forum Overlord" if it helps in situations like this again.:D

If you were granted one wish, what would you wish for?

I can narrow it down to two wishes, would probably have to toss a coin for it.

1 – a long, healthy & happy life for me and my wife.

2 – Kelly Brook breaks down outside my house; she then slips in some mud as she gets out of the car, so asks me if she can use my shower. Whilst showering she calls out to me asking me if I can give her a hand cleaning the hard to reach parts.

So, a down-to-earth man who makes the most of all the time available to him. Also seems to have a healthy fantasy element to him :)

The next interview will feature Vlad, very much a cheeky chappy of the forum.

Which is your favourite SM team currently and why?

Manchester United WC 131 because my squad is like Arnold Schwarzenegger's pecks pretty much.

What do you like and dislike about SM?

Ooof lemme think o:. Sylvester Stallone in Expendables. Because you get to shoot people and chuck knives at them o:

Who is your idea date?

Kim Kardashian

celebdailyphoto.files.wordpre...pg?w=418&h=627

What do you do now in real life and where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

I have no job. I am dirt-een :P.

Well I just go out with friends, party, underages/discoes and play soccer.

I see myself either as a personal trainer or somewhere in the lines of I.T

I would say you're a mischievous young man and a joker. Is this a correct sum-up of you?

Mischievous I am at times, I am a joker all the time :D. I am usually nice to people usually!

Well I can get annoying, I am basically eye for eye or I treat people how they treat me.

If I have to fight I will fight, If I have to do something I will do it :)

Is life better in Serbia since the break-up of Yugoslavia and if so why?

Well before the Yugoslav wars in 1990 etc, It was pretty much peaceful. My dad tells me Sarajevo where I was born and my parents, grandparents etc were born was a really nice, peaceful place.

But now I am not sure, I haven't been back to Serbia for quite a while but I assume it has been worse because of the wars.

If you had one wish granted to you, what would you wish for?

To have special powers that does anything I want them to no matter what itis. Like fly, go invisible, give me whatever I like :D.

It's been a lean couple of years for Milan - are they ready to dominate again and what are their weaknesses?

I think we can really dominate in Serie A, we are getting better slowly. Our weakness's are old, smelly and slow players like: Oddo, Jankulovski, Nesta, Gattuso! We need to buy young players especially Vidic, Ivanovic, Subotic, Lazovic, Sulejmani, Kolarov, Ninkovic and Krasic ;)

So a fun-loving guy who is not afraid to stand-up for himself if need be. Getting positive vibes about the future of Milan but clearly feels they need to buy a few more Serbian players :)

The interviews will continue to roll in regularly, time-permitting :)

Re: Who are you? - the forumers interviews

Gozzy has helped so many of us make huge profits for our SM teams by introducing us to moneymakers and starlets since he joined the forum. A proud Indonesian who answered as follows:

What team do you support and how long have you supported them?

My favourite team is Liverpool and Brescia. I supported Liverpool since 8 years ago when Owen still there and i always support The Reds since then. For Brescia i just liked Baggio and their kit around 2002-2003, so i started to support them

Why do you follow this team?

I love Liverpool mentality when i first watch football, that's why i follow them. Brescia well, this is weird but i love their kit so i follow them

Who is your favourite player (current and/or all time)?

Peter Crouch. I was crying when i knew he leave Anfield.

Which match do you recall most fondly?

2005 Champions League final between Liverpool and Milan at Istanbul. What a match , what a victory for Liverpool

Which is your favourite SM team currently and why?

My Plymouth Argyle at EC106. I've build them for long time and it's great feeling to participate in one of prestigious setup at SM

What do you consider your greatest SM achievement?

Even though i'm not a GM, i've won many titles during my SM career. My greatest achievement for me is taking Portsmouth to win treble in one EC. That's my first team in SM

What do you like and dislike about SM?

I like the rating system as it based on real life. What i dislike about SM is SM often forget phone user like me. When they make new feature, it often can't be used by phone user so sometime it's frustrating

What is your favourite past-time?

I like to play Badminton in my spare time

What sort of music do you like?

I like any kind of music. I like rock, pop, techno.. As long as the song make me comfortable, i'll listen to it

If you could be a star in any movie (character/actor), who would you be and why?

Mr.Bean . Hahahaha, i love being stupid but can be useful for other people

Who is your idea date?

Britney Spears at her peak. I love her so much 5 years ago.. She's truly hot

What do you do now in real life and where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

I'm now in 3rd grade of High School and hopefully will graduated next year. In 5 years, i will be graduated from university, living abroad and i'd like to write a book someday

How would you describe yourself in real life and do you have a role model you wish to be like?

I'm emotional but humorous person. I also always have high optimism. I don't have any role model but i hope to be successful and useful for people around me

You seem to have a good knowledge of a number of leagues accross the world and have introduced the forum to many moneymakers and young talents. Where do you get the time to watch so much football?

I'm very lucky to live in Indonesia. We can watch any league, from EPL,Serie A,La Liga,Bundesliga, etc here for free so i can watch many league. I can't say i have better knowledge than most of you but i want to contribute for forum as much as i can

If you had one wish granted to you, what would you wish for?

I want to make proud my parents after what they have done to me

In your opinion, which of the following regions will provide a world cup champion first - Asia, Africa, CONCACAF or is it improbable for any of them to do it? And why do you think so?

Asia.. Indonesia to be specific. And i'm serious. We have good resource to get it

So, Gozzy seems to enjoy helping where he can but equally enjoys being humorous. Also a potential novellist in the making :)

Next will be .TRGAWHFC★[RV] or Romano for short. A young Scotsman with a little Italian in him (or is it the other way round?)

Re: Who are you? - the forumers interviews

Try to build a decent gap between interviews. Something like one per week. You're doing too many interviews in a short period of time. I think that at this rate the thread is going to be banalized quickly, since there aren't that many regular forumers around. With one interview per week you can always have an updated and subscribed thread and you can build some suspense by making us wonder who will be next.

Just my 2 cents.

Cheers.

Re: Who are you? - the forumers interviews

Nathan Kirby is one of the longest-standing members of the forum. A devout Celtic fan and will always speak his mind even if he ruffles a few feathers. Here's his interview:

What team do you support and how long have you supported them?

Glasgow celtic. And since i was 5

Why do you follow this team?

Pfff my uncle got me into supporting them never turned back since football is my life

Who is your favourite player (current and/or all time)?

Current favorite player is del piero and messi. Del piero has been my idol since i've came to notice football, love the way he plays and goes about the game. Messi the mans a genius, plays football how it shud be played. All time id have to go with henrik larsson say no more celtic hero and legend loved that man.

Which match do you recall most fondly?

Erm celtic vs man u roy keanes testermonial. Although we lost I went and it was amazing we brung more fans into old trafford than they did. Great time unfortunately we lost 1-0 but it was a great game.

Which is your favourite SM team currently and why?

Fulham intercourse. Dont really play sm no more but its a very good custom setup well ran and im leader of the UNDERWORLD!! so i have came to enjoy it.

What do you consider your greatest SM achievement?

Leading a average zaragoza side to 2nd place only to lose out on goal difference in spanish premier in gc3 best season ever.

What do you like and dislike about SM?

Dont really like too much, suppose the forums alright. Erm i dislike most things about sm :)

What is your favourite past-time?

Aggrevating my wife, going out and playing footy with mates chilling etc

What sort of music do you like?

Rap, dance, R&B stuff a old fella like you won't like ;)

If you could be a star in any movie (character/actor), who would you be and why?

Paddy mcgure in shameless. Guys a legend great program is shamless and hes a celtic fan :)

Who is your ideal date?

550w_starsnaps_ndubz_tulisa.jpg

Tulisa out of ndubz, if i wasnt married well id be going straight for her :D

What do you do now in real life and where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

Im a youth worker, help any people really who have drinking or drug problems thrown out of home etc go around trying to help. 5 years god knows hopfully im still alive then haha.

You sometimes can get on the wrong side of people because you are very straight talking and call it as you see it? Is that a fair reflection of what you're like in real life?

Yeah thats about right. Some people like to be ishy and say stuff to try and avoid getting on the bad books of people but i feel you should tell em straight and say it how it is, often i get the wrong side of things and as you say it does lead to fall outs maybe my fault but normally id like to think im only saying what other people just dont have the balls to say.

If Celtic were given a chance to leave the SPL and join the EPL or English championship - would you be in favour or against the move and why?

Yeah i would. It would bring so much revinue to the club and boost our already fairly big status. We would be able to atract big players to the club that we caint at the moment beacuse the spl is such a poor league and with our already big stadium and huge fan support if celtic did get into england it would be great. Other teams might say oh it will kill other spl teams but i dont really care about them as long as it benefits celtic.

If you had one wish granted to you, what would you wish for?

Gives me unlimited wishes :D. Nah erm end of poverty

What did you think of the 6-4-0 formtion employed by Scotland and would you do anything differently if you were the Scotland manager?

It was a joke, completely agaisnt football. Ino scotland aint great and i dont expect alot from them but i would rarther see us lose while giving the other team a game than trying to sit back for a point. Id do alot differently, Levien is clueless hardly knows what hes doing, formations are pathetic and team choices are a joke

So, Nathan Kirby is undoubtedly a Celtic man through and through and wouldn't mind if others get annoyed along the way, so long as his team benefit. He's not currently too happy with the state of affairs for his beloved Scotland, however :)

Next up we'll have Toonfanforlife whose forum name says it all really, a true Geordie follower.

This. Not necessary a whole week, but whenever you see too much of something, you start to not pay attention. I'd say, make us wait and leave us guessing. It would be great if you would leave and not actually reveal the next person as it builds up excitement. IMO, interview every 3 days or so would be perfect. Thanks for the project and I truly appreciate your efforts to introduce not as well-known forumers to others (had no idea who that Fitz guy was).

I appreciate the comments guys and take them on board. I will be slowing down a little in due course. Don't worry about the frequency of interviews and the risk of running out of forum members as I already have a set of questions for the 2nd interview for everyone when that time is approaching. It's also important not to just use regular forumers as something like this could build the community and bring new members in :) .

Also a big apology to Romano, who I announced as an upcoming interview and whose interview I somehow missed out :o . Yours will be up after Toonfanfor life. Will then go with Tom's idea of not revealing the next interviewee and see how that works :)

I don't think you need to worry too much about the pace TBH. The big worry on threads like this is that you leave it too long between updates and interest gets lost.

I also hope Tom was joking with this:

had no idea who that Fitz guy was.

after all' date=' within the last twelve months he opted to kill me, and labelled me annoying, arrogant and unfunny.[/color']

(I know you were being sarcastic Tom, I think)

Re: Who are you? - the forumers interviews

Toonfanforlife lives in the football cauldron of Newcastle, a city where every man woman and child seems to breathe football. Here's his interview:

What team do you support and how long have you supported them?

I support Newcastle,I've supported them since I was 4 years old so it's been 14 years that I've supported them for now.

Why do you follow this team?

The main reason is my Dad who is also a Newcastle fan, before moving to Birmingham which is were I currently live we used to live in Hartlepool which is about an hour away from Newcastle, still I never really liked football that much until I was ill one night and my dad let us stay up to watch Match of the Day,Newcastle was one as we won 4-0 against someone and I think it was Blackburn, this was around the late Keegan days and the way we played football made me intrested in football like no other team had done, once I found out this was who my Dad supported I supported them,I went to my first game when I was 8 and I saw us beat Everton 2-1,I had goosebumps when I went over the Tyne Bridge and I still do when I go to Newcastle games,it was only after this that I realized how much I loved the club and I couldn't support anyone else to be honest.

This was also the first goal I ever seen at a Newcastle game

lOAyCHV2ql0

Who is your favourite player (current and/or all time)?

My favourite player is Shearer for obvious reasons,he was a class player and he loved the club the same why I do and you can see he lived the dream so full respect to him for that, the best player I have seen in my lifetime has to be Zidane,I had Sky when I was younger and therefore I got to watch a lot of La Liga and this meant I saw Zidane on a regular basis,he had all the skills you could ever need and it was amazing to watch how his mind worked,he seemed to see a pass you couldn't even see on the TV and his awareness was second to none, the best thing though was for all the genius in his game was most of it so simple as well, instead of trying 40 yard crossfield balls for the sake of it he knew when a simple 5 yard pass was needed and when to play the killer pass,in that respect Xavi reminds me a lot of Zidane with his simplicity in his game and therefore his my favourite current player,I'll be watching him play in three weeks against Villarreal so I can't wait for that.

Which match do you recall most fondly?

When we beat Feyenoord 3-2 in the Champions League,I was too young to really remember when we beat Man Utd 5-0 and beat Barcelona 3-2 so I won't include those, this game always sticks out because of the way we qualified by losing the first three games and winning the last three to qualify and were the only team to have done that,I remember were winning easily at 2-0 and then they scored from nothing and they battered us for 25 minutes as we didn't even really get out of our half,to then score in the last minute to qualify from the last 16 was special,we just used to attack back then under Sir Bobby and we had players such as Dyer,Bellamy and Shearer who were just pure class,I wish we could play like that now but it's always good to look back at some of the old games once in a while.

tuEOkPtIynk

Which is your favourite SM team currently and why?

It will have to be my Notts County side in EC106,I have really built up a nice side there with players like Raul Meireles,Mariga,Alexis Sanchez and Berezutsky all playing for me,I had next to nothing when I took over so I'm happy with what I've done in what is the most competitive setup out there.

What do you consider your greatest SM achievement?

Winning Division 3 in EC1 with Sheffield Wednesday, despite been one of the favourites for the title to win something in a setup filled with class managers is always a fantastic achievement.

What do you like and dislike about SM?

I love how easy it is to play, and the fact your playing and competing against other people is a lot more satisfying than playing against a computer.

I dislike how the rating schedule is now done as the old one was much better,I also really think they should make improvements to the match engine and stop making as many setups as there currently doing as there is no need for them,I doubt SM will listen to me on any of the above though.

What is your favourite past-time?

Watching F1 from the 90s and 80s,I've watched F1 before Football and I follow both a lot, although it's gone too far technically now and it's took a lot of fun out of the sport there's something I love about watching people drive fast,it's the fact that even if nothings happening someone could push too far on a corner and crash and the whole race changes as a result, nothing could happen for an hour and then there's a 20 minute spell were absolutely everything happens and it's the unpredictability which makes me watch,I plan to go the race weekend this year if I have enough money and it should be something special as to watch these drivers that are currently driving will be fantastic as well.

What sort of music do you like?

I don't really like music that is out nowadays,I listen to bands from the 80s era such as The Jam,Depeche Mode and Queen.

If you could be a star in any movie (character/actor), who would you be and why?

Red in Shawshank Redemption,it's the best film I've watched and the storyline seems to resonate with me,his a class actor and I'd love to have a voice that sounds as good as Morgan Freeman as well

Who is your ideal date?

kristen-bell-you-again.jpg

Kristen Bell, she's absolutely gorgeous and she isn't one of these dumb blondes either as she is very intelligent, she also seems to be quite a good actor in whatever I've seen her in.

What do you do now in real life and where do you see yourself in 5 years time?

I'm studying ICT at College,I currently plan to get a job after this year and then plan to move abroad two years after that, depending on how much I enjoy or hate working I'll either go to University or get a job abroad

You seem quite level-headed and your posts generally make a lot of sense. Is this what you're like in real life?

Thanks,to be honest I'm quite level headed in real life but I think that's due to me been quite a laid back person,I don't really get annoyed by things like most people do and stress is not something I really have in my life as it stands, still it doesn't matter how level headed or sensible we are in life as we all make stupid decisions from time to time,I also still have teenage tendencies so therefore I am still quite immature at times and I'm very immature when I lose on FIFA when it's just a video game at the end of the day, still for the most part I like to think I'm quite sensible.

What makes the Geordies so passionate about their football?

The fact were a one club city helps a lot, also life in the North East is hard as well so therefore we work hard during the week and take out the passion and anger from that and show it in supporting the team,it's not a place like Wigan or Northampton where Rugby is the main sporched as all the Newcastle fans cares about is football, and I think Newcastle is the biggest city in the UK to have one football team which helps an awful lot as places like London,Manchester and Birmingham have 3 or 4 clubs playing in the same area meaning the support is spread out more which isn't the case with Newcastle.

If you had one wish granted to you, what would you wish for?

For everyone to be happy in there lives.

Which of these would give you most satisfaction and which would be the most important? - Beating Sunderland 5-0 home and away, avoiding relegation or seeing England in a World cup final ?

I'd get the most satisfaction beating Sunderland 5-0 home and away, but I'd rather avoid relegation as that's more important, I couldn't care less about England to be honest.

So a true Geordie who would see his club prosper at any cost. Good taste in music too :)
