Leclerc 45
last season when liverpool play badly, gerrard suffer a -2 drop. so is it 95 too high to rooney? i think 94 is proper.
swanseajack 11,427
Re: rooney to 94? If the ratings were tommorow, he'd keep his 96 rating as he's currently injured. You'll have to wait untill he's fully fit and played a couple of games before they can really access it. As for Gerrard, yes he dropped two ... because he was a 97! Can't see him dropping to 94 at all, but i'm sure this'll turn into another thread with 50-200 posts which concludes that he's got a good chance of a drop to 95 but has a chance of staying if he returns well on numerous occasions, but eventually it'll get lost in with the many Rooney rating threads after a lot of pointless posts just reinforcing a point ... just like this post. Shepherd 9 81
Re: rooney to 94? Personally I think there are 91 players better than him. He is massively overrated. He won't go below 95 though because there are too many people in football who seem to think he is much better than he is.
Fletcher=god 152
Re: rooney to 94? What the hell is going on with you lot??? last season he scored a massive amount of goals, a lot of assists and had a fantastic season in which utd lost the league.....just despite having carrick and fletcher playing cb for a few games. And lost by an outstanding robben goal in champs league quarters after rooney had destroyed milan. Since then hes been mostly injured and had a poor world cup, as did many big players whom im sure ur not asking to drop. ronaldo? evra? So why exactly is a player who was destroying teams for the majority of last season and was worthy of a 97 then be now a 94?? or no better thsn 91s. What does the ever injured Torres who has scored less than rooney in last 2 years rate then. 92, 91, 80???? no..... he might drop to 95 max and hes done less than rooney. but no one is gonna say hes overrated by 2 are they?? Oh and yes, all those experienced managers and players all over the world who insist rooney is world class must be wrong and it must be u who says he overrated whos right maybe?? I hope you have it in you to admit that rooney had an outstanding season last year and since has been injured. hell prove u all wrong when hes back to full fitness. might start tomorrow

gigithebest01 71
Re: rooney to 94? Just to clarify: Gerrard had an amazing season in 2008-2009, earning his 97 rating. However (as we all know) Liverpool afterwards had their worst season in recent years, finishing seventh in the league, and being falling out of the Champions League AND flopping in the Europa League. Hence he deserved a -2 drop. Rooney had a standout 2009-2010 season on the other hand, in which he was by far the best player in the Premier League, and he would probably have reached C. Ronaldo's goal tally. He was earmarked for a 97 before flopping heavily in the World Cup. He is now going through a very serious bad patch, and it has been approximately since last March that we saw him at his prime. Therefore while I do agree that he deserves a drop for his bad form over the last eight months, it should be a -1, not a -2. Rooney is still playing at a top-level club, his team is among the PL challengers, and regarding his performance at the World Cup: if we had to drop all the English nationals who flopped at the WC, we'd have quite a crisis on our hands. Rooney did have one heck of a bad tournament, but he wasn't far off from a lot of the other players. Rooney no longer deserves his 96 rating, but a 95 is a bit much, I think. What does last season have to do with rating changes occuring this season apart from the fact he hasn't scored in open play since March and had an absolutely horrific world cup? Gerrard had a fantastic 2008/2009 season so based on that he should never have dropped -2? The only people who said he is worthy of a 97 are the same people adamant he shouldn't drop now. Everyone else knows that last season was the only ever season where Rooney has justified his 96 rating. Apart from last season Wayne Rooney was getting outscored by players such as Lampard, Anelka, Adebayor year in year out. Lampard lost his 96 through a small bad patch of form. Why is Rooney immune to such treatment?
