Re: GC148 discussion / rumours etc thread

Barcelona Update:

Steady progress as season starts to hot up:

League

Barcelona have maintained there unbeaten run courtesy of two fantastic victories against Bilbao and Valencia, particuarly after being 2-0 down at Bilbao, however this enthusiasm has been tempered by goaless draws against Sevilla and more dissapointingly Almeria. Pauley is said however to be very happy with the solid defence displayed recently and maintaining this momentum is very important.

Barcelona currently have moved up to 4th, six points behind surprise leaders Racing Santander after 15games.

Spanish Shield:

Barcelona progressed to the S/F and a tie with Hercules courtesy of a hard-0fought 2-1 victory over Real Sociedad. Goals from that man Sasha and a first goal in Barcelona colours for Robin Van Persie prove just enough.

Champions League:

A vital victory away at Valencia 2-0 see Barca top the group with eight points from four games. The group is still wide open with Man City a point further back and Valencia three points off the top. One more win from our final two games should prove enough to reach the knockout stage.

Re: GC148 discussion / rumours etc thread

Any chance of you boys giving me some competition !

9 points clear with only 15 games gone. Only lost on the opening day of the season, ridiculously i lost 5-1 to Wolsfburg even though the stats suggest another story.

Only major bit if business iv done is sell Subotic to Arsenal for Koscinely + Walcott.

Other than that the only other transfer in or out iv done is buy Tonev for cash lol !

Barcelona Update:

A surprising league defeat and the first trophy of the season heads to Camp Nou :)

League:

A excellent away victory at Atletico Madrid was somewhat tempered by a surprising 3-2 home defeat to Levante, no excuses levante were better on the day but after doing the hard work in Madrid, it was a significant setback. Barca sit six points off League Leaders Real Madrid and Racing Santander.

Spanish Shield:

A close fought 2-1 victory by the reserves at Hercules saw Barca through to the final, in a tight tense affair against Atletico Madrid descended into stalemate and penalties to decide who lifted the Spanish Shield. In one of the worst shoot-outs in living memory Barcelona managed to scrape the PK'S 1-0 and lift the first trophy of the season and bring scenes of joy to the Catalans.

SMFA Champions Cup:

A thumping 4-0 defeat of Boca Juniors at Camp Nou saw Barca qualify for the knockout stages with a game to spare, which will allow 4-5 of the club's stars to have a night off and give a few of the fringe players a chance to impress in the final game against Manchester City

Re: GC148 discussion / rumours etc thread

Barcelona Update:

Inconsistency is the word.

League:

A very inconsistent spell with some surprising defeats to lesser lights such as Deportivo have seen Barca slip to ten points off leaders Real Madrid although Barca with three succesive victories have moved into 2nd place. El Classico up next in a must win game to have even a remote chance of catching Madrid in what alrady looks a forgone conclusion.

Champions League:

Barcelona have made steady progress after defeating Arsenal 6-2 on aggregate in the last sixteen a tough tie against French side Marseille awaits in the last eight in a very strong looking QF stage.

Spanish Cup:

An early exit courtesy of a 2-1 defeat to Sporting. It was a understength Barca that took to the field due to a very small squad and fitness/injuries playing a part but still dissapointing to exit.

Justice In Management Return With County

After around 7 months out of the management game, Justice has made a shock return to management with English Championship side Derby County, the struggling championship side looked in experiance for a new English coach, and in a shock return from Management retirement Nick Justice made a return, stating he wanted to help the team get back to Premier League sucess, its rumoured that most of his management is however done through his Phone device and HTC system, but whether or not this rumours are true and he'll actually be a hard hitting and involved manager, only time shall tell. Justice who is a yound manager is said to relish the chance to be back in management. So ar he has taken control of two matches and managed two, 2-0 Victories against Swansea City and Burnley!, Also thus far managing to bring in the Services, of Goalkeeper Matt Gilks, Defenders Garry Monk and Alex Pearce and Strikers, Simeon Jackson, Jason Scotland, Aaron McClean, Chris Zebroski and Davis Curiale. Also securing Jamie O'hara on loan from Tottenham Hotspurs for the remainder of the season, Derby after those two Victories currently now sit 18th one place above that of when Justice took the rein, the only way is up for County from here on out!

Barcelona Update:

League:

Barcelona have been flying with four League wins on the bounce since I last wrote scoring an impressive twelve goals whilst conceding a solitary strike. Wins over Real Sociedad, Zaragoza, Espanyol and more importantly Real Madrid in an emphatic 3-0 victory in the Classico have seen Barcelona reduce the gap at the top to sit four points behind Real Madrid(this despite beating them home and away) with ten games to go. What looked a forlorn hope at one stage is now starting to gain momentum, but we have a lot of work still to do starting with a very difficult away day at El Madrigal (Villareal)

SMFA Cup:

Barcelona have taken a grip on there QF tie after defeating marseille 2-0 at the Camp Nou in the first leg. Slightly disappointing as despite Marseille playing 68mins with ten men and completely battering them we were unable to kill off the tie, but we are in a good position and will hopefully complete the job in France.

Dos Santos In Derby Switch

The Tottenham Winger fell out of favour at white hart lane, and decided a move away was the best to further his career, however due to multiple reasons he did not want to depart from England, and when Derby County boss Nick Justice heard of his avaliblity, he placed a bid in for the young Mexican Winger. The Mexician International, will be given the No.7 Shirt and a first team place, and is set to make his debut for Derby tonight in the Championship against Preston North End...

Barcelona Update:

Title race hots up

League:

Since the last report Barcelona have suffered a deserved defeat away at a rampant Villareal who were good value for the win, but have bounced back with thumpings of Hercules and more impressively a 6-0 spanking of a good Athletic Bilbao.

This has seen Barcelona move to within two points of Real Madrid with seven games to go, but with an extremely tough fixture list in the next few games it will be very tough to stay in touch. That starts this Wed with an away day at a bang in form Sevilla who have crept almost unnoticed to sit only four points behind Real Madrid, in what promises to be a very close three-way fight to be top-dog domestically.

Champions League:

Barcelona are through to the semi-finals of the SMFA Cup despite losing 2-1 to Marseille at the Stade Velodrome the 2-0 win at Camp Nou was decisive in the final outcome. Hamburg await in the Semi-Final, whilst the other tie will be contested by heavyweight spenders Real Madrid and Manchester City.
