Fresh Times Ahead For Welsh Strugglers.

Welsh minnows Wrexham have today concluded their hunt for a man to fill their managerial opening. The man entrusted with the job is English managerial nobody Ryan Clarke. This is Ryan's first job in football after he passed his FA coaching badges with flying colours around a month ago. The club are in a dire financial situaition with the threat of administration looming over the club. They are looking for financial backing in the hope that financial stability can help send them back to the promised land of the Football League which they were relagated from last year.

Ryan Clarke is believed to have signed on a 3 year deal worth a lowly £50 a week. When asked if this was a stumbling block he replied 'the love of the game is why I am here, not the money.' He is hoping to bring a nice fresh passing system of football similar to the likes of Barcelona and Arsenal. The previous manager Gary Stephens was a fan of kick and rush which proved not be a popular choice with the board and all it's members.

Bath City will be counting their blessings as they escaped the Racecourse Ground with only a 2-0 deficit. With a staggering 15 shots on target and yet only 2 goals Wrexham will be dis-pleased with there finishing. Their strikers wasted far too many chances in a game that really was one team dominating the other form start to finish.

From the off Ryan Clarke's Wrexham side seemed hungry to win and impress their new manager. Despite the effort they failed to create a chance in the first few minutes and when they did create their first chance Martin Andrews was all too happy to take it. A quick turn and shot fired into the bottom corner was what it took to beat Robinson who turned out to have an amazing night. Martin Roberts was rampant with his pace too much for the defence to handle. His finishing was a bit off as he missed a few chance's he'd usually take in his sleep. The best shot of the match had to be Raphael Varane's 25 yard attempt that rattled the crossbar. What a goal it could have been on his debut for the club.

HT

They came out and played the same way they'd came out and played the first. Quick passing football that was too much for the humble Bath City. They may have been guilty of trying to pass the ball into the net at times but it was a very pleasing display. Gary Taylor missed an easy chance to make it 2-0 after some great work down the flank by Raphael Varane. It was only a matter of time before it was 2-0. A complete fluke Recio as the Welsh wind took his cross over a helpless Robinson.

Another great peformance with more goals to go with it. Ryan Clarke's side really are playing with the passion and pride their boss would have expected them to play with. Just how long can they keep this form going?

The new signings that weren't deemed fit for the beasting of Bath were declared fit to play here in what was much stronger Wrexham side. They played like a stronger side and dominated the game in a similar fashion as to when they had outclassed Bath 2 days previously to this fixture. The vivid vision from the midfield will have been a highlight as they picked out pass after pass and after pass, and split open the Mansfield defence. A great pass from Quinn sent Creighton in to score in the 13th minute to the shock of the home support. Chances came and were wasted for Wrexham which will worry the Wrexham boss. His strikers will have to be clinical in order for them to beat the likes of Luton and Darlington. Cases' first goal came here after a shocking fumble from the goalkeeper gave Nacho his first goal with only a tap-in.

HT

Within 1 minute Mansfield goalkeeper Marriot had made a finger-tip save to keep his side in with a chance of staging a comeback. Khouma Babacar had other idea's as Nacho Cases sent him in on goal before he finished to the delight of the travelling Wrexham fans. Khouma Babacar had arrived on a loan deal from Swansea less then 4 hours before the game and this goal will have been a great way to break the ice with his new team-mates. I was soon 4-0 after Matthew Wolfenden gave Cases his second goal of the game. A nice ball to Cases gave him enough time to arc his body before swinging his foot and nailing the ball into the top right corner in what will prove to be one of Mansfields worst defeats this season.
