Re: Gold Championship 6

Brief news from Madrid

Last night saw the arrival of Emmanual Adebayor to Madrid in a deal which overall see's £10,000,000m, Marcell Jansen & Yoan Gouffran head to River Plate.

Since this now means that Real now have 4 centre forwards they are looking into the possibility of seeing one leave the club.

Payne has mentioned that Real could soon be looking into the policy of no 30+ players and this means that the following players are available for the right price:

Michel Salgado 88

Jorge Andrade 92

David Trezeguet 94

Didier Drogba 96

These players join the already available players:

Diego Lopez 89

Marco Amelia 90

John Heitinga 91

Rodrigo Alex 92

Payne has also let it know that if both strikers are to leave the club their must be a striker replacement and a defender at worst and both players under 30 years of age.

Payne would like to hear from anyone interested in the services of his players via a Private Message.

Re: Gold Championship 6

With the new season starting tonight, Ajax are still searching for a nig name striker that could have a big influence on their season. The signing of 24 year of Mirko Vucinic has added some depth to the strike force, but the search is still on this week before Ajax close the door on major transfers until mid season.

Ajax's future is looking bright with some talented youngsters being signed over the last couple of weeks. With average age of the first team squad now being just 24, the squad is taking shape nicely.

Good luck to all, to which im sure will be a very competitive season once again.

Atlético Madrid have had a very quiet pre season with no transfers in or out of the club. Manager SoP is happy with the squad at present that won the title last season.

However he is willing to use LEO FRANCO, Noeren 90 rated goalie and SEKTIOUI, Tarik 89 rated foward player + cash in a deal for any player in any postion 92+ rated and under 28 years old. No cash deals for these players will be looked at as we prefer to part exchange them out to a club that needs both players to strengthen.

New Man At Home Park

Just a few hours ago, division three side Plymouth Argyle have appointed Marvin Rogers as their new manager. The club were left unmanaged for just a matter of days before Rogers (Maveric) took over. His first game in charge is against Reading in the English Shield.

Maveric was an extremely delighted man as he told SkySports: "It's a brilliant offer, I have been looking to get back into management and Plymouth are a brilliant club. I wish I can start well with them and lead them into greater things"

Luckily Plymouth are in both cup and shield and face Reading tomorrow in the first round, Argyle are expected to play a strong side with just Perioni missing out.

Borough win thriller at St. Mary's

61_front_small.gifSouthampton 3 - 4 Middlesbrough12_front_small.gif

Middlesbrough have got back into the top four in the Premiership with a great run of recent results, they are in good league form and have forgotten the bad start they had in the League. Manager Winston has stated that he may focus on league success again and forget about the SMFA Cup for this season as his squad is currently not strong enough to compete in both competitions. The risk that Winston is taking is that he may not qualify for the SMFA Cup again so maybe should go all out for it this season. Its a dilemma that quickly needs a decision.

Borough were 2-1 down at half time after a brace from Welsh veteran Ryan Giggs, who stunned Middlesbrough with two very dubious goals. The Borough goal came from Scott Parker, who actually gave Winston's team the lead, before they were pegged back by a good attack minded Southampton team.

The second half saw Borough show their class in an explosive first 25 minutes after the break, on 55 minutes the scores were level when the experienced Sergej Barbarez made the most of some very poor defending and slotted home. Then, on 68 minutes, it was Parker again, this time he rose well above his marker and headed the ball into the net, giving his team the lead for the second time. Just a minutes later Borough went 2 goals to the good with a piece of pure magic from Nigerian talisman Aiyegbeni Yakubu who skillfully beat 2 defenders and thumped the ball into the net.

The Saints did pull a goal back but were not good enough to pull the game level.

The fifth goal of the night came in the 71st minute, Marcus Berg scoring his second of the night thumping a low drive from 20 yards out into the back of the net. Borough's great league form continues

10_front_small.gifBorough 2 - 1 Fulham12_front_small.gif

Middlesbrough's hopes of winning the premiership title this season are looking on course even if it is still very early in the season. Winston has put all other competitions on the back burner and put all his focus on the League.

It was an incredible display from Middlesbrough as they were completely outclassing their opponents, they didn't manage to find the net in the first half though.

The second half did see some goals as firstly, Borough took the lead through Viktor Fayzulin, who was making his debut after his loan deal, capitalized on some poor defending by Fulham and ran through, firing a low shot past the Fulham keeper into the bottom corner. They extended their lead with just 13 minutes to go when Aiyegbeni Yakubu poked the ball home after a goalmouth scramble. Fulham did pull a goal back but it was just a consolation.
