Valencia 3-1 Osasuna

Back to winning ways for Valencia tonight, goals in the first half coming from Villa for Valencia and Juanfran for Osasuna. In the second half Valencia proved to be too strong for the away side, goals coming from Vicente and Angulo were enough for all three points. Re: Gold Championship 6

Villarreal 2-2 Valencia

(0-3 after penalties)

Spanish Cup

Valencia manager Bryan Adamson took his players to El Madrigal not only to play Villarreal, but also the legend that is their manager, Fraser McInnes. Both managers opted for the 3-5-2 formation and it proved to be an evenly fought game, Valencia just edged possession, Villarreal had 25 shots on goal while Valencia had 26. The only thing that separated these two teams was corners with Villarreal having 9 and Valencia only having 4. Valencia had a slightly stronger team out tonight but it didn't show when only after 10 minutes Villarreal took the lead when Jan Schlaudraff converted a well placed header from a fantastic cross. Valencia drew level only 11 minutes after Villarreal took the lead when Miguel Angulo scored with a powerful right footed shot. Jan Schlaudraff got his second goal of the game around 10 minutes from half time when he showed great technique when he curled in a good shot. In the second half Valencia got the better start and drew level for the second time when Edu headed home only a minute after the kick off. Both teams came close to scoring again as both had shots denied by the woodwork. Only the fantastic saves of Canizares kept Valencia in the game. It was almost guaranteed to be decided on penalties, such a harsh way to decide the winner but on this occasion Valencia came out on top scoring three and Villarreal not scoring any. Valencia will now meet Barcelona in the next round manager Bryan Adamson will be wishing for an easier game in the next round.

Re: Gold Championship 6

Atletico Madrid 1-1 Valencia

A draw was a fair result after this game, Madrid had more opportunities to win the game than Valencia though and dominated the play. This didn't stop a weakened Valencia side taking the lead when Mario Regueiro's shot was deflected in from an acute angle. 5 minutes from time Madrid drew level when a miss-hit shot from Jose Fernando Torres squirmed under the Valencia keeper to steal a point for Madrid. Valencia are now up to sixth place in the Spanish league still some way behind the leaders.

Re: Gold Championship 6

Arsenal 1-0 Valencia

A bad start to the competition for Valencia but not a bad game... Both teams had a fair amount of the ball, both teams had around the same shots on goal, but only one team got a goal, Arsenal. With 3 minutes to go Thierry Henry showed great technique with a curling shot to steal the win for the gunners. The bad news for Valencia is that Rodriguez Vicente is now out for 22 weeks after picking up a serious injury.

Valencia 2-2 Real Sociedad

Another draw for Valencia saw them loose even more ground on the league leaders. Valencia were 2-0 down at half time with Diego Rivas and Darko Kovacevic scoring for the away side. Valencia got back into the game when Lucas Landa pounced on the poor communication in the Sociedad defence. The home side drew level when Mario Regueiro (pictured below) controlled the over the defence ball and finished well against the motionless keeper.

88.gifWolves 2 - 2 Leicester City41.gif

LEAGUE division two

LS took on his new post with a home game against Leicester. The Wolves side put out was thes trongest of the current crop and allowed the new boss to see where he needs to strenghten things. The first chance on goal for either side was also the first goal as on five minutes Wolves were celebrating taking the lead. Carl Cort scoring the goal. Each side carved out chances in the run up to half time but the score remained one nil to Wolves and so far so good. Things got even better shortly into the second half as Karl Henry put Wolves two ahead and what should of been a coast to the end. Leicester sparked into life getting one back on 66 through a Iain Hume header. Then dissapointment for LS as Kobiashvilli levelled things on 75. With the woodwork saving each side late in the game the score ended two all and anything better than a defeat on your first day is good.

Eleven games played, eleven points on the table Wolves are 16th but have eyes on the top three.

With the small kitty Wolves have LS has decided to invest in youth at the club and has brought in Grigorev, Defendi, Shinnie, Renton and Josimar totalling £1.8million.

Re: Gold Championship 6

Real Madrid Castilla are happy to announce they have a new manager, Ross Philp. Philp comes to the club with not a lot of experience and had this to say earlier today,'I am honoured to be part of this club. It is a very youthful side and I am hoping to raise spirits and lift this club off the bottom of the division. We are still in both cups and have won 3 out of our last 6 games so I have arrived at a time where the form is decent. I will be hoping for a top 10 finish and a good cup run. Thank you, that is all for now.'

Hamburger SV are in Group B of the SMFA Champs Cup, They may be last, but Tom Greenfield doesnt want these type of results to back staright into the Bundesliga form and see them slump down the table.

Real Madrid Castilla 6-0 Sporting Gijon

In Ross Philp's first game in charge, Real Madrid Castilla produce a fantastic performance for the new manager and the 4000 fans who watched the tie. A hat-trick for striker Juan Mata(10,59,63), and a goal each for Javi Garcia(46), Alvaro Negredo(47) and Marcos Tebar(81) sealed the triumphant win for the Spaniards.

As the club have now hauled themselves upwards off the bottom of the table, Ross Philp now wishes them to achieve higher attendances like 5000, to get a better atmosphere inside the 6000 capacity stadium.

Re: Gold Championship 6

Valencia 0-1 Barcelona

Spanish Cup

Valencia fans must have been expecting an exit from the cup when they drew Barcelona in this round of the cup, but none of them must have been expecting the team that Valencia manager Bryan Adamson fielded. Players of Valencia included youngsters like Sebastian Castro-Tello and Vicente Romero were up against the likes of Xavi and Eto'o so the outcome was almost a certainty. But even with all of the stars on show from Barcelona they only managed to score one goal from Santiago Ezquerro.

Valencia manager Bryan Adamson said that he had fielded a week side so his star players are fit for more important games such as the SMFA cup and more importantly league games.
