Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread

Paolo DE CEGLIE has completed his move to Preston North End from Juventus for £6,230,000 plus Jason LOWE. All other offers were turned down.

A much needed LB comes in, in the shape of Paolo De Ceglie. There was a lot of competition for him, but luckily we had the highest offer and he is now a Preston player. Very happy, unlucky to those that missed out.

De Ceglie will go straight into the first XI for our game at Liverpool tomorrow :)

Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread

Switched up to a 4-4-2 diamond pre-game for the visit of Aston Villa, seemed to do the trick as we ran out 3-0 winners~ Peralta, Allesandrini & Maloney with the goals for us before Maloney got himself sent off.

A much needed 3 points for us that now sees us 10 points clear of the trap door, 13 points from the last 6 games has saw us start to look a little safer.

Good game Frozy.

Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread

second game in charge saw York City draw to bottom of the table Exeter City 1-1. Should have been a 3 point game for me based on form, however kudos to Exeter City as they played well, and a draw was the fair outcome in an evenly contested game.

Big injury for York City too :( Berahino is injured for 5/6 weeks, meaning he will miss about 12 games for us. Big blow, but hopefully we can push on and someone will step up to the plate :)

The match ended 1 - 1 between Swindon Town and Swansea City in their Division 3 fixture.

Well played Tony!

Charles Kabore scored his second in 2 games to put us in front. Thought we could have won the match but in the 2nd half Marko Devic got sent off and, with no playmaker on the field, we were then back pedaling for the rest of the game. Swansea equalised and in the end we were happy to get the point.

Spurs 1-2 Charlton

Scored early in the match through Vasquez but Griezmann equalized for Spurs in the 25th minute. We had better possession but the opposition were having more shots and it looked like would not even get a draw. However, 5 mins from time, Barnetta took a corner which ended up at the feet of Petersen, who had no trouble driving a shot into the goal, giving us a late win.

Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread

Now that we are looking a little more safer at County, I am going to try and start buying a couple of decent youths(if any can be found) we have recently brought in two half decent prospects to start with:

Andre Silva 18 Porto

Carlos Strandberg 18 Hacken(hopefully BVB soon)

We have also too a gamble on a couple of youngsters in Facundo Lescano & Dimitri Oberlin.

The cash situation has improved and should get better once we get some external bids in so we will continue to look out for additions to the squad whether that be in first team terms or for the youth set-up.

Queens Park Rangers beat Accrington Stanley 3 - 0 in their Division 3 fixture.

Raffael scored a goal and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance.

Siqueira and Bacca were also amongst the goalscorers.

And suddenly we're in the play-off zone! Amazing B) What a run. We continued our super form and we jumped to 6th. I hope we can keep this up and challenge for promotion!

The player of the round goes to Eastbourne midfielder Otman Bakkal!!!!

bakkal.jpg

After a very poor start to his career at Eastborune (No goals in the first ten games), Otman Bakkal has finally shown the fans at the Langney Sports Club what he is capable of. After creating Eastbournes first goal, he finally opened his account from the penalty spot. On the half-hour a stunning long range effort made it 3-1, and he completed his hat-trick minutes later with a perfect free-kick into the top corner. Confidence was flowing through the Dutchman, who created a second goal to make it 5-2. Bakkal scored once more late on in an 8-2 thumping over Darlington, inspired by Otman Bakkal.

Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread

Mouhamadou Dabo, Oleksandr Kucher, and Stefano Mauri sign for Carlisle. The deals see Leandro Fernandez, Pablo Barrientos and Bentanin Paulinho leave the club.

Because of the departures of both captain and vice captain; Stijn Schaars has been named the new full time captain and in his first game in the role we beat Eastbourne Borough 2-1.

This means that we have booked our place in the semi-finals of the English Shield (the only team from outside of Division 1). We face Plymouth Argyle in what should be an interesting encounter.

Two semi-finals in one season, I'm rather happy with that. But a final would be great.

Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread

York City put in their best shift for the gaffer tonight, with clinical finishing from York City making the huge different tonight.

York City scored in the first minute, before Kettering Town equalised. However, York City scored again before half time. Soon after the break it was 2-2, but fro then on York were the most clinical side, netting 4 more.

The man of the match went to Ezekiel, who scored a brace and also set up two goals in the process, to get a perfect rating of 10 too. This led to Campbell stating this was one of the best displays of any player he has witnessed in his managing career, and definitely believes Ezekiel has earned himself a spot in the team of the week.

Campbell also admitted to making a mistake by benching top goal scorer Bamford when taking over, as he also netted today. This is good news for the Bamford camp, who should see him now cemented in the team, barring injury or tiredness.

As a result of the win, York City jump up to 14th, and only 5 points off the play-off zone, which Campbell admitted today is the target he and the players set together.

Next up is Bradford, who sit pretty at 8th.

Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread

A nice 2-1 win for us over Barnsley, we gave a couple of youngsters a run out tonight in Piscitella and Silva , pleased with the recent form as we are steering clear of the trap door, after the dismal start to the season I was sure we were going to be relegated, still could but it is nice to have built up a 10 point gap and nearly evened out our dreadful goal difference.

Brought in two 70 rated youngsters Charlie Telfer and Blair Spittal, both will get gametime this season for Dundee United and look decent pick ups in whatever set up you can grab them in, always nice to get 70 rated players with potential.

Bacca scored the winner for Queens Park Rangers and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance.

After their result against Cardiff City, Queens Park Rangers are now unbeaten in 11 games setting a new club record for most games unbeaten in a row.

Up to 4th already! Delighted

The player of the round goes to Bradfords Russian midfielder

Denis Glushakov!!!

denis_glushakov.jpg

The Russian International has settled in very well at Bradford. Although with the amount of Russian stars on there books it must feel like home for him since his £12million move at the end of last season. Last night he scored a wonderful hat-trick, with two powerful strikes from outside the box and a well placed header in a 5-1 win over Watford. Glushakov also provided an assist for Russian team-mate Shatov. That is now 13 goals for the season, an excellent tally from a midfielder and is currently the top goal scoring central midfielder in England!
