09. Saviola

15. Gobbi

16. Lestienne

Thanks! I certainly won't be overlooking Altrincham though despite playing in a higher division - the team ratings are similar so I don't think there is a clear favourite. Myself and their manager are also well acquainted from another Game World and Altrincham actually knocked us out of the Shield in the first round last season.

Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread

English Cup Semi-Final:

Carlisle United 1 - 1 Aston Villa (Carlisle United win 3 - 0 on penalties)

We have achieved the unthinkable and managed to force our way to the Cup Final.

Things didn't start well in this match though as we went behind mid-way through the first half. We then had the daunting prospect of scoring -- and not conceding anymore goals -- against a side with ratings ranging from 89 to 92.

Luckily for us, Villa midfielder Belhanda was sent off shortly after half time which gave us more control of the game. Substitutions with more attacking ambition were then made and Rabia's runs through the midfield from right-back served us well in trying to claw our way back into the match.

The super sup was undoubtedly Sadio Mane though, who came on for the last 15 minutes to breathe fresh air into the final third - and he didn't let us down. 3 minutes after replacing Olic he scored the equaliser and could have even won it for us before the whistle was blown signalling the dreaded penalty shootout.

I honestly don't know what happened to Villa in this shootout, two of their stars missed the target and another had his penalty saved in-between all three of our penalties going in. This sent us to the final in surprising but none-the-less satisfying fashion.

Commiserations to Frozy and his Aston Villa team, had Belhanda not been sent off it could've been a whole other story.

The English Cup Final, Wembley Stadium, Monday 18th August:

Altrincham vs Carlisle United

It's quite an unusual final to say the least, teams of Division 3 and 5 going head-to-head for the silverware. Knowing the Altrincham manager Libaan Hassaan well from another Game World, this is sure to be an interesting encounter. Libaan's side knocked us out of the English Shield in the first round last season, who would've thought that this is how we would meet again next?

The positive is that there will be only winners in this final as both teams will leave with pride and much needed extra finances. I'd still like to get my hands on that trophy, though!

Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread

County bring in another few players.

Luka Tankulic comes in for 140k, he was a trialist at Dens and scored a goal against Man City in the pre-season friendly, Dundee have went on to sign him and he has banged in a few more goals in pre-season.

Callum Robinson comes in for 610k, just signed a new contract at Villa, I can see him getting a few games this season so should get a rise from his 76 rating.

Jack Robinson comes back to County from external, still only 20 I am hoping he can force some games this season for Liverpool now with the full season of Championship football under his belt while out on loan at Blackpool last season, England under 21 and worth a punt at 3.2 million.

Samu Castillejo comes in from Malaga for 440k, don't know much about him but he scored a cracker in pre-season against Newcastle that made me take a wee punt on the 19yold.

Queens Park Rangers have lost to Torquay United 5 - 1 in a thrilling Division 3 encounter.

Jonathan was on the scoresheet for his side.

Our amazing run ended tonight with a big defeat vs Ruts's Torquay, nice win mate! Torquay were extremely efficient and made us pay for our sins at the back. Our goalkeeper and captain Claudio Bravo had a very bad game, but the entire team is to blame. We failed to dominate possession and made mistakes.

Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread

Hi Machines,

Thanks for that, mate - I have absolutely no idea where that performance came from... :)

After a shocking start to the season, where Torquay looked every inch a candidate for relegation, it's suddenly five games unbeaten and a +ve GD.

Cheers SM, there's nothing I've done any different... :D

Carlisle United

Terrence Boyd has been sold to external; his rating probably won't rise much in the near future and he is simply not versatile enough for a team who rotates every match due to playing 3 matches a week since the start of the season.

Vladyslav Kalitvintsev comes in to replace him, this guy can play on either wing and is young enough to be eligible for our U21 team. This makes him a better fit for us.

Free agent Henoc Mukendi also signs for us, he's barely played any football but is only 20, a Liverpool player and came at a discounted price. He'll be useful for the U21 team as well and make a good back-up striker option.

Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread

Liverpool 4-3 Charlton

We were winning 3-1 after 34 mins, but Gerrard equalised with 2 goals before halftime came.

Then in the 2nd half Gerrard added another to get his hattrick and win the game for Liverpool.

Disappointed not to get something out of the game as we had the majority of the possession although we had less chances than our opponents.

Re: English Championship 7777 - Discussion Thread

County pick up a point in a 1-1 draw with Fulham, disappointed to let in an 86th minute equalize but thats football.

Good game.

We bring in Alaixys Romao (88) for a exchange for Galeano (86) pleased with this trade as we brought in Lugano and Lustemberger as defensive cover so a DM was much more needed and a +2 in ratings increase helps.

Victor Andrade comes in for 2.75 million, bit of a punt on this kid as he has been frozen out with not signing a new contract, now he has moved to Benfica hopefully the 18yold can get back on track.

I am quite pleased how the side is looking after my second window with the club, we have reduced the age, improved the ratings and added a few decent prospect to the youth team.

Still have some money let to try and pick up a couple of young talents.

David del Bosque Scolari (muallan - forum) takes control of Bristol City.

This season your Chairman expects you to finish in the top half of the table.

Bristol City were founded in 1897 and play their home games at Ashton Gate in Bristol. The club is also known as The Robins.

going to be interesting how this works out!

A great win for the lads' date=' even though we were outmatched, we move up to 17th, 7 points out of relegation.

The match ended 2 - 2 between Queens Park Rangers and Hartlepool United in their Division 3 fixture.

Bacca scored both of the goals for Queens Park Rangers and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance.

Only one point for us tonight vs a struggling Hartlepool, but it's better than nothing. We had more shots but possession were even. Carlos Bacca proved his importance for the team with a brace. He's already one of the top scorers in Division 3. We're still 5th!

Thomas Heurtaux (87 rated CB from Udinese) and Ferreira Nilton (87 rated DM/CM 87 from Cruzeiro linked with Internazionale) are both available for 9.5M at QPR!

The match ended 4 - 4 between Swindon Town and Torquay United in a thrilling Division 3 encounter

Another Goal Fest following the 5-4 scoreline between our two sides earlier in the season.

This time the points were shared. Despite us having better possession and stats we found ourselves 3-1 down at one stage.

However, Christian Noboa demonstrated his leadership qualities by providing the inspiration for our team to fight there way back in. The Swindon skipper scored twice and made an assist to deservedly win MOTM and earn the draw.

Well done to Ruts. Another quality game between our two teams :)

All for sale mostly p/e wanted but cash and p/e would be acceptable, have to try and get this county side looking the part as we are just 6 points above the drop zone.
